I basically didn't know what to expect; the nice dedicated staff guided me step by step; hand sanitizing first, food handling gloves for extra added precaution. I started with two bowls one for my choices of meat and the other for my veggies & ramen, you then select your own spices & oils, that's right but don't worry like me "I don't cook Mongolian" it's okay there's a chart right around the corner & helps you select them. This is a good place for Mongolian BBQ! There is a saucing guide hanging from the ceiling to help you decide what to add. The vegetables are fresh and the meats are of good quality. It is also AYCE so that is definitely a plus. The sesame bread is excellent and one of the best I have ever had. The bread was crispy, flaky with layers, and puffy in places. The best thing, since it is all you can eat, is you can have several pieces if you wanted. Soup is also available on the buffet line. This place definitely warrants many return visits. There is not much staff since most things you do yourself but the cooks are very friendly. One negative is that I wish they would let all customers know of their 6% service charge before paying, it's definitely weird especially when it applies to all parties of any size. We love going there because we love the food, and the last time we went as a family we were allowed to eat the buffet, and I was allowed to serve my togo plate and pay for it and still eat with my family who ate and paid for buffet. I am unable to eat much since I have had the gastric sleeve done, so I at least wanted to pay for an appropriate portion and bring home my leftovers for my togo. Can you believe my husband had never had Mongolian BBQ before? I was excited to witness his first time! A trusted Yelp search led us to this spot in the next city over from my hometown and I'm glad it did! It's AYCE Mongolian BBQ (with four types of meat options - beef, chicken, pork, and lamb - and a mega large selection of vegetables) with a weak buffet on the side. Lunch ends at 2 p.m. and we probably came a little too late (around 1:15) to get any fresh items at the buffet. The crab wontons, fried rice, and sweet / sour chicken were all a little dried out and stale. Similar to other Mongolian BBQ spots, here guests help themselves to a bowl of raw meats, vegetables, uncooked noodles, and a selection of oils and sauces before handed it over to a chef to cook together on a round flat-top grill. The raw meat is typically very thin so it cooks quickly within minutes in a stir-fry setting. The chef(s) push the stir-fry bowl mix around the grill until it is done cooking, pushed into a clean bowl, and returned to the guest. At our table, the staff kept our drinks refilled and were all pretty friendly. The line for the Mongolian BBQ moves pretty quickly and the bowl came back piping hot! All of the ingredients were fresh and I was pleased with the taste. Standalone, this place is great. It doesn't compare as strong to other similar places I've been to in the past, but we will definitely be back. The only thing I get are the sugared donuts, and combine them together with the soft serve ice cream- a must try if you like desserts! The warm donuts and creamy, cold ice cream goes well together. Really wanted to love this place. But too many iffy things. First, AC wasn't working or turned on or set low enough? But our whole party was sweating while in there. Guess that's a good way to make sure people do not get seconds on food, make the customer too uncomfortable to stay. Second, the floor was sticky, like shoes stuck to tile if standing too long, I associate that with not being clean (my opinion). Third, the side bar where the rice was at had lots of empty pans for things, but nothing was refilled while there and we went during lunch hours. So all we saw was white rice and egg rolls. No dessert or any other appetizers that other people have seen. Fourth, they automatically assess a 20% surcharge to your bill. This surcharge alone (that's on top of all the other weird taxes and fees they added) is why I will not go back. Plus, they would not accept cash.
