Rick was communicative, punctual, quick, and great at his work! Needed about a 2'x2' hole sealed up in the ceiling. I called him on a Saturday morning and he was able to swing by to take a look for a consultation and estimate. Later that week, he and his son came for the patching in the morning and had everything done in less than a few hours. The ceiling made out of plaster and the house was built in '52, but he knew exactly how to patch it. He was informative on the material of the ceiling as well as what he well as the material he was using. He contained the area, and left the room spotless when leaving. Rick just completed a 1 day job for me, repairing some holes in my plaster wall that were cut for water damage remediation. Although it is still drying up, I can already tell that after its painted, you won't be able to tell the walls were ever repaired. He and his crew did an amazing job matching the texture. A true craftsman. They put up plastic to contain the dust and did a wonderful job cleaning up when all was said and done. Very reasonable price too. Had a hole in my exterior wall that needed patching. My exterior is smooth stucco, which apparently is difficult to work with, since a number of other companies I contacted for a quote just don't work on it at all. I finally found a few companies, including RCS, that do this kind of work, but none were as detailed and knowledgeable as Rick was. Plus his quote was very reasonable. Rick was very helpful in laying out what needed to be done and why, and was very quick in getting the work done as well. Rick and his crew (which includes his son) just finished up replacing a portion of the kitchen ceiling in my 90 year-old house. The plaster was literally about to fall on our heads. Rick came out to give us a (free) estimate, and quoted us a reasonable price for repairing with plaster - not just sticking drywall up there (which he won't do). When they arrived this morning, they put down thick cloths for the scaffolding, and sealed off the area with plastic; they cleaned up spotlessly after (including washing down the patio staging area). The ceiling looks terrific, and it wasn't an easy job, given that the whole house is crooked. Short review: Hire Rick RIGHT now for any plastering you might need. Long review: Like pretty much everyone else here, we had a small plumbing issue that caused a fairly large hole in the wall. And like a few other people here, our plumber suggested Rick. Because we love our plumber we didn't think twice about it and gave him a call. But here is where things got weird. 1. Rick showed up ON TIME. 2. Rick gave a fair and honest quote. 3. Rick started the work. Once he got into the wall in question he stopped, let us know that since the plaster was so old (original to a 1928 house) he'd need to do more work to get it done right. 4. Rick explained everything that was going to need to be done and adjusted his quote, supplies & time needs accordingly. 5. Rick showed up on a SUNDAY to finish the work. 6. Once he finished the job, Rick gave a quote on additional work we need but didn't do any sort of hard sell or try to sell us anything we didn't need. So, you need to hire him. I recently called RCS Plastering for a couple exterior stucco jobs on my house and I couldn't have been more pleased! He fixed a falling stucco overhang and two large holes where my wall a/c units used to be (we installed central recently). Rick was very easy to work with and always kept a clear line of communication open. I called him during the day to leave a voicemail and returned my call later that day to set up a time to give me an estimate. He talked about different options for how we could tackle the overhang and showed me why it was falling the way it was (pretty much poor craftsmanship). I have an old 1920s wood lathe and plaster house which always causes issues when we have to open up walls for any reason. Rick to the rescue! He obviously knows his plaster. Explained the whole job very thoroughly and followed through on time and on budget. Can't ask for more than that! We had one large 6 foot x 3 foot hole which had to be completely repaired. And also a second smaller spot in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling. Rick had them both repaired in no time, and it looks spectacular. Pricing was more than fair. His bid was under almost every other bid I got. And between how quick he came to do the work and the quality, I think I got a bargain!
