I want to begin by expressing my sincere appreciation for the Aquarium show on Friday, July 25th…read more It was an enjoyable and engaging event, and I was especially impressed by Elijah's professionalism and courtesy. His positive attitude and knowledge truly stood out. Unfortunately, a distressing situation that followed my visit has deeply affected my experience with your store. I purchased a Golden Dojo Loach, which died less than 24 hours later. Shortly after introducing it to my tank, my betta fish--who I had gotten on Father's Day and had cared for over the past two months--began to show signs of illness. This fish held deep sentimental value for me, as I got it shortly after the tragic passing of my father in a car accident. As a veterinary technician working in the exotic animal field, I was quick to recognize the symptoms and took immediate steps to quarantine the affected fish. I later learned that all of the Dojo Loaches at your store had also died, confirming that the fish I purchased was infected and introduced illness into my aquarium. This was not the result of negligence on my part--I maintain a clean and well-monitored tank. The source of the infection was the fish your store sold me. When I reached out to explain the situation and express my distress, I was met not only with a dismissive response--"It is what it is"--but also with laughter, as though the situation were humorous. I found this response deeply unprofessional and frankly hurtful, especially considering the emotional context and the effort I've put into caring for my animals. I had to spend $96 on medication to try to save the remaining fish in my tank--treatment that should never have been necessary. I did not infect my tank; your store did, and yet I was left to bear the financial burden. As someone who works in the veterinary field, I fully understand that animal loss can and does happen. What made this situation so disappointing was not the loss itself, but the careless and unempathetic way it was handled. The lack of accountability and professionalism, combined with the visibly poor conditions in your store, left me extremely concerned. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that it leads to positive change. I urge you to take a closer look at your store's health practices and customer care policies to prevent similar situations from happening in the future.

Squeeze right by me without saying hello welcome to the store, anything. No friendly face there. The next appears to be a younger guy who approached me relatively quickly asking me if he could help and he did. I did see a lot of aquarium tanks to the point that is very cramped in there but all the tanks the water looks nice and clean and they must have almost every kind of fish there is LOL. I have a tank that has not had any maintenance in a long time and they tested my water for a dollar and told me my problems and then helped me find an inexpensive test kit to check up on it also told me how I will fix it. The cat was reasonably priced so I bought it and I was grateful for the advice. It might just of been a bad day for the other gentleman but I would not want to go to the store and find them to be the only one to take care of me and I would probably shop more if the younger guy was there alone LOL. It does not appear to me, although I'm in no way an expert for sure, they had a lot of things to sell other than these fish because I didn't see many isles you can walk down and browse for things to put in your aquarium like even basic things like thermometer. I guess I'm intimidated to go back there because it looks like the grumpier man in my opinion just talk to a friend of his once in a while but does not engage customers and it looks like you really have to know a lot of things before you go in there so you can ask some thing intelligently knowing what you want. It is the polar opposite of Petsmart or pet supermarket who are really friendly but don't have a lot of expertise and nothing really elaborate

I was referred to Chappy's by a friend and can honestly say I've never experienced better customer service from any company ever. Chappy and his staff spent a lot of time and patience walking me through the process, recommending the best products (they were not the most expensive either), and literally helping me trouble shoot a few setup problems I encountered. Chappy and team came to my place and helped ensure everything was in good shape and working order. They are always friendly, available, and willing to go above and beyond to help. I highly recommend Chappy's to anyone needing competitively priced service and supplies. They are honest and absolutely have me as a long-term customer!

We called and were quoted approximately $1,600 for the replacement. We then visited the store in person to confirm the price and schedule the installation. A few days later, we received a call offering an upgraded model for an additional $400. We clearly declined and stated that we wanted to stay within the price range we had originally been quoted. We communicated this multiple times throughout the process. After the installation was completed, we were surprised to receive a bill for $2,000 before tax. When we questioned the charge, we were told that a better model had been installed. However, we never agreed to upgrading the system. After expressing our concerns, they reduced the price by $100, but we still ended up paying over $2,000 with tax--significantly more than the original quote. Our main issue is the lack of transparency. We were not informed that a more expensive unit was being installed until after the work was completed. Had we known beforehand, we could have made an informed decision.. We had been considering using Chappy's for a future Diamond Brite resurfacing project, but after this experience, we will be looking elsewhere.

We had a pool finish applied to our pool that came with a 25 year warranty. The company requires us to have weekly pool service - we do - and monthly water testing with documentation to prove the pool water is in range. After the surface was applied, the pool was filled with filtered water during the first week of November 2018. At the end of November, I brought a sample of the pool water to the store and the water tested ok. When my husband brought the water on December 29th, several numbers were out of range. The guy who tested the water suggested we add muriatic acid, calcium and PhosFree. I emailed the results to our pool company. On January 1st (yes, New Year's Day!) the pool tech came to service our pool. My husband showed him Leslie's water report so the tech could consider it as he tested/treated the pool. On January 2nd, the pool company's office manager (and our former pool tech) came to our house to further test/adjust the water. So on January 5th when my husband brought the water sample to Leslies', we expected a great report. Instead, the report showed the chlorine level was ZERO. (The pH and phosphates were the same.) Several other measurements were out of range. It didn't make sense. You can see the results in the pics - their printer was broken so they had to handwrite the results. On the same day, January 5th, my husband called the pool company's office manager and told him the water test results. The manager came to our house and tested the water in front of my husband. Leslie's water test results didn't match. I don't know why. That night we ordered a digital water testing kit so we can test the water from now on. Between the pool company testing the water and us using the Lamotte ColorQ TesTabs Pro 9 Plus Test Kit, we hope to have accurate test results. The digital test kit measures 9 things - and my husband bought a separate test kit to measure a 10th water attribute. It might seem like overkill but we're uncomfortable with Leslie's water test results and want to be compliant with the pool finish company's requirements so our warranty remains.

I may be doing something wrong, or it may be the clientele (if you know Tamarac you know what I mean), or maybe they are just inefficient. *Shrug* All I know is that I get really impatient and I'm usually pretty easygoing unless I have a hangry on. Their system seems to be that you bring in your own chlorine bottles and they fill them and bring them back to you, but I have never been here for chlorine and the waits are still long. On the plus side on each visit, they had what I needed (parts, tablets, chemicals other than chlorine etc.) Maybe I'm missing something but after stopping by several times, I have never felt the need to return, despite the fact that they're not really that far.. The pool supply store I usually use either closes early or is closed on Sunday(!?) (and closed Monday too!) - which is inevitably when I realize I need chlorine for the pool. I've literally driven to Dixie highway in those cases instead - which is (possibly) silly of me. I'll make a point to stop by next time I need chlorine (I'm good for a couple weeks ATM thanks to one of their competitors) to see what the deal is and see if there has been any change in my perception and/or improvement in my experience, and edit this review as appropriate.
