I don't know what this piece was called, but it looked like I had some rice cracker things that were crunchy and provided a nice texture. Lastly, my favorite part were the grilled sweet plantains. They were caramelised and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Also the side salad tasted very fresh and healthy. The House Plate as a dish was so well balanced, there were healthy fats, protein, carbs, fiber. It had different textures from the various components that made up the dish. Visually it looked very nice too. Service was friendly and nice. I will rave about this place anywhere and to anyone who listens lol. i came in here specifically to purchase a tres leches cake for my family's taco night this evening…read more one of the incredible ladies behind the register told me she would sell me the extra she made for the weekend, but when i said i would need it for dinner later that afternoon she offered to make me an entire tres leches cake the same day. she said they normally would require a few days in advance and i asked several times if she was sure but she very kindly said it was no problem. i am so grateful to the workers at un cafecito for their kindness and DELICIOUS tres leches cake that my family loved!! thank you SO MUCH and i will forever be grateful and love the food you all make here. i cannot recommend this place enough.

Next the avocado toast was missing at least two ingredients the avocado oil and the Himalayan salt, so it was pretty bland, small portion and left us wanting the ingredients we were missing. Service was quick and friendly as we were a little ahead of the lunch hour crowd. Since it was too cool for us to pick one of the outdoor spots for our meal, we settled into a four-top in the back corner. Total seating whether inside or out is limited, so it's easy to understand why they do a significant carry-out piece of business. The soup was piping hot, and delicious. My muffuletta would have been positively compared to those that I've sampled in New Orleans. Great little meal, and a great call for lunch!

ACRYLIC FINGERNAIL FOUND IN MY SANDWICH…read more Last week I ordered a banh mi sandwich from this restaurant. About halfway through eating it, I bit into something that felt strangely plasticky. To my disgust, I discovered that it was an acrylic fingernail. I immediately contacted the restaurant by email to let them know what had happened. I didn't finish the sandwich, and I was hoping for nothing more than an apology and a refund. Unfortunately, I received no response. I followed up again earlier this week and, once again, received nothing. I understand that mistakes can happen in any restaurant, and I realize that there may be things we unknowingly consume when eating out. What I find particularly unacceptable, however, when a customer reports something as serious as finding a foreign object in their food and receive absolutely no response Is unacceptable. The food may have been fine, but finding an acrylic fingernail in a sandwich is a serious food-safety issue. The complete lack of acknowledgment from the restaurant makes the experience considerably worse.

There are many seating options from booths and tables to comfy chairs. The interior is a semi-industrial style with open steel beams and shiny silver ducting. The overall vibe is comfy and inviting. We ordered at the counter. The menu is above and behind and is large enough to see from further away so you have time to figure out what you want. You get a number for the table when you order food, and they will call your name for drinks. It can get a bit loud so it was difficult to hear the names being called unless you were standing near the counter. The food took about five minutes to be brought to the table. The Steel Curtain sandwich and Southwest wrap, along with a caramel macchiato and vanilla streamer came to $23. The sandwich was filling and very flavorful. The Southwest wrap was surprisingly good, and the cup of pico made for a nice addition. The wrap had filling throughout, with neither end being just the burrito wrap. The caramel macchiato was very good. The caramel flavor did not taste processed and the ratios were done right. The vanilla steamer was also good, with the right amount of vanilla without being overpowering. A later trip tried the salted caramel mocha which was average. For some reason the caramel flavor was off and the cold foam did not really add anything to improve the flavor. This is not one I would order again. On a separate trip we tried the Better biscuit. This was surprisingly and disappointingly small. It was much more like a snack than breakfast. The flavor was good but the small size meant we needed to order something else to sate our hunger. We decided to try the Dripsters breakfast bites. These alone would also be a snack but they are advertised as such. They are quite good and dipped in Ranch dressing makes for a surprisingly good taste. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They are mostly a hit with a couple misses, but certainly worth trying.
