I spent my morning over at Snow Summit to get runs in and shake off the cobwebs. I had a free day during the week and drove up in the morning by myself. The cast that I purchased you access to both this part and Snow Summit so I had to at least get a few runs in here after lunch. There was free parking that was easy to find and gear up at. Like the other park, I feel like some of the trails and lifts were shunt down for the day. No biggie. It was not crowded at all. I don't have any scientific basis for this, but it feels like this park has a few more obstacles or is more friendly to some of the more seasoned folks that come through. Overall, my experience was pleasant. Even though I didn't spend a lot of time here since my body started getting tired. A fun park that isn't too far for people in the LA or SoCal area. Definitely a good experience when the park isn't crowded.

My son wanted to go tubing, which I was not opposed to so you book online the night before and lock your spot in. It's about $56 per person to tube which is a little steep but then again we're in the mountains so you pay for everything. Parking for the hill, getting to the hill, navigating the chaos on the hill. All the above is a mission on its own. Be prepared to wait, to walk, and to deal with the craziness. The employees they are cool, just overworked and I feel like there needs to be more than to navigate through the BS. Fun little place to go tubing and the run is pretty cool. Just be prepared to pay and struggle with the parking situation. Hire more people guys probably help you guys out tremendously.

They had a fantastic session with Cris Gallardo. They found him to be helpful, attentive to their needs, and easy to work with. Meanwhile, my daughters and I enjoyed base camp. The wristbands for unlimited 'adventure' activities is a fair price. We also packed our own picnic lunch and had a lovely afternoon. We had last visited Snow Summit two years ago and I was worried that now as young teens, they would find the activities too babyish, but they really enjoyed the climbing wall, euro jumpy, and zip line. Before heading home, we enjoyed ice cream cups from the gift shop. I was also happy that the bathrooms (by the zip lines) were very clean. I will also add that we visited on a Friday in mid-July, and it was not crowded at all.

There was free parking that was easy to find and gear up at. This particular location doesn't feel large and since it was kind of sunny and a weekday, I think a lot of the trails and some of the lifts were shutdown during my visit. Not a big deal at all since my goal was to avoid large weekend crowds and shake off my personal cobwebs and just enjoy myself at my own speed. Getting my pass ready at the entrance using my phone, emails, and the app was pretty straightforward. Once I got that situated, I was able to start making my way to the first main lift and head up. The crowds during a weekday (early 2/2026) were so small, I was able to take my own chair up without having any traffic behind me. I can't speak for experienced skiers and snowboarders since even a decade ago, I would consider myself a solid intermediate snowboarder (that didn't do any tricks) and I will say it's a solid resort especially what I was looking for. I was able to go down the trails and constantly go up the lifts so quickly and my muscle memory all started coming back albeit with a few minor spills. After a while, I wanted to grab a beer and make my way over to Big Bear since I had the pass that allowed me to experience both parks. Definitely a solid snow resort that isn't too intense and is great for the proximity of people who live in the LA/ IE area.

What I noticed about the location of this cabin was that it was further away from the heavy tourist areas but close enough to grocery stores, restaurants and shops. So if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect getaway from the everyday stresses of life. This cabin includes a living room with a cute fireplace, a small but full kitchen with a eating area, full bathroom (water pressure is good and it heats up pretty quickly), a bedroom with a closet, access to the backyard, a front porch and a cozy loft with a flatscreen TV that I didn't touch once. I was primarily there solo to detox from the busy life of Los Angeles and not to ski since I was there beginning of May. Snuggle Bear Cabin had everything I needed to detox. I laid out my yoga mat and meditation pillow upstairs in the loft and it had an inviting view of tall trees out the window. It was a perfect environment to reflect on life, letting all creative juices flow, read and write. The solitude was exceptionally welcome. The final full day that I was there, my boyfriend came up to join me. And really...all we did was snuggle. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin for anyone to deeply relax and enjoy the natural wonders of Big Bear. Thank you, Melia, for his wonderful experience.

Grand Swiss * Absolutely Stunning Estate -- A Family Experience to Remember!…read more From the moment we arrived, Bella at Destination Big Bear made us feel so welcomed with a thoughtful gift basket filled with goodies. It was such a sweet and unexpected touch that immediately made us feel at home. It truly set the tone for our stay, and we genuinely appreciated the kindness and thoughtfulness behind such a warm welcome. This Destination Big Bear GRAND SWISS CHALET ESTATE was absolutely incredible! From the grand patio and entrance and beautiful wood beams, to the luxurious bathrooms and thoughtful modern details, no expense was spared. It felt more like a private five-star resort than an VBRO. The first floor featured a gorgeous kitchen with two islands and two sinks, ice maker, huge Thermador oven/stove, large fridge, spacious dining and living areas, a theatre room, and beautiful views from the kitchen of the towering green trees and fresh scent of the forest the minute you step from the kitchen, out to the backyard. The outdoor patio, the tranquil view, the grassy area and the beauty of the mountains became the heart of our family gatherings. The second floor had four modern beautifully decorated spacious king bedrooms, with warm and inviting amenities in every room. Each came with luxurious private bathrooms featuring marble walk-in showers and freestanding soaking tubs, wood beams throughout, fancy faucets and hardware. Everything felt exceptionally high-end. The third floor was a fantastic entertainment space with shuffleboard, card table, TV media area, bar space, refrigerator, ice maker, sink, and plenty of room to gather. Two additional queen bedrooms included a twin bunk in one. Perfect of the young adults and teens. Each floor featured spacious balconies overlooking either the grand drive-up entrance and breathtaking landscape of the trees that surrounded us, or the peaceful backyard, where hiking trails stretched beyond and curious squirrels would venture into view. What made this stay so special was having enough room for everyone to cook, laugh, play, relax, watch movies, and simply enjoy being together. We never felt the need to go anywhere--the estate itself was truly the experience. Perfect bonding time with family. Beautiful, luxurious, peaceful, and incredibly well thought out estate, with so much space inside and gorgeous landscape outside. We are so grateful for the memories and would absolutely return and highly recommend!! Thank you, Grand Swiss Chalet and Destination Big Bear! One of THE BEST unforgettable family vacations we've ever had. We will definitely be back!!

Man this is a great spot!!! This house (Cabin) is fantastic on so many levels…read more I will start with the "cons" as they are so minor. The only cons are the driveway has limited space, the knives are not sharp in the kitchen, and you may need additional blankets in winter. I am guessing you could ask for more blankets, and I will bring my own knife next time! :) The Pros: It is super close to the ski resorts (and the zoo) and has a great hill for sledding right on the property. No need to worry about the children sledding into the street as the hill is right next to the house and the direction of the sledding is toward the back instead of toward the front (street). It is perfect even for little ones! I could watch them from the dining or living areas...hot coffee in hand! My kids were out there all day! Which made for tired peeps in the evening. Everyone slept great! ;) There are plenty of bedrooms for multiple families to join forces...we had 3 families up there! The game room is great for the kiddos to have a 'place' of their own...t.v., game tables, and what not. Throw some snacks down there and you may never see them again! I have stayed here a few times...I am just getting back from a Scrap booking weekend with my girlfriends! It was great for that too! I really should have written a review long before now, but it is one of those things that just got away from me. But I determined I would when I got home from my girls weekend away...so here we are. You will not regret staying here anytime of year!

We had 2 pillows for 2 beds (extras weren't available), but what looked like a handyman did show up with extra bedsheets that were rolled up in a bowl and held against his dirty clothes. The overhead light was broken, the floors were absolutely filthy, the windows were off track and couldn't stay open or lock. The hot tub, which was the main reason we rented this cabin, is cracked and peeling and was dirty on arrival. I bought cleaning supplies before I realised that the hot tub was completely unusable. When water hit the basin it threw little pieces of peeling of paint into the water. The kitchen was an absolute disaster. It was listed as a usable kitchen with lots of amenities. Upon arrival we found, 2 plates, 1 saucer, no bowls, 2 glasses (that didn't match) no wine glasses. We had to ask for wine glasses and when they arrived it was 1 wine glass, 1 champagne glass both very dirty. All of the cutlery was mismatched, dirty, and not a complete set. Dirty pots and pans were in a cabinet. There were no trash bags, a broken paper towel holder, no supplies to wash or dry dishes. However, there was a sign saying if you left dirty dishes behind they would charge you. There were also no kitchen towels or pot holders. In the bathroom, we found a broken toilet paper holder, broken bathroom mirror , 1/4 roll of toilet paper, no shampoo, conditioner, or soap. There were only three towels so we had to ask for extra towels. We were given towels with large holes that smelled. There was no bathmat, a torn shower curtain with no shower curtain liner. The hairdryer dryer was missing from the wall and when we asked for one an hour later one showed up brand new in the box obviously had just been purchased at the store. The grounds were filthy as well. Trash was everywhere as well as broken appliances stored behind and underneath other cabins. Someone lives at the facility and let their small child scream and yell even pass the quiet hours. We contacted the manager multiple times and when we gave a list of complaints, they didn't respond until before our checkout reminding us to be out on time so they're cleaning crew could access for the next person. We asked for a partial refund due to the fact the amenities listed were not there so we had to go out and purchase them, as well as the fact that we could not use the hot tub and that is the main reason we rented the place. We were told they don't trade refunds for good reviews.
