Plumbing problems are one of those things that when they happen, you look for an easy fix or or look to someone that can help. I went to 5 places. Everyone said to go to Reback's. I final ended up there. WHAT A DISAPPOINTING LET DOWN!!!!!! We have an older wall mount sink and needed a stem for a stubborn leak. When I walked in, it looked promising. I asked the service person at the desk about the part I needed. He immediately told me he didn't have the part. Which was ok, but he condescended to me right away. I asked him if he knew where I could get the part? He said no! I asked him if he knew if Ferguson had it? He said, "I don't know, I work here not at Ferguson. Listen, I work in retail, I get it. But what I would never do is be rude and dismissive. I got out of there ASAP. I'm starting to believe more and more that excellent customer service is a dying concept. If you value good customer service. If you value your hard earned dollars. If you value common decency. Then DO NOT go to Reback's. You have entirely too many choices out there. Three of the people I spoke with at this business seemed normal during our second-long interactions. But alas, the western United States contains one more middle-aged white man who is too insecure to simply listen. Yes, he displays his in security by interrupting with off topic snaps unrelated to the question you are unable to ask. Does he refuse to look at or understand the part you brought in? Yes, he does. Does he rattle off unrelated jargon with insecure aplomb to simply say something so that he feels like he has authority? You bet. He is so violently insecure that he must, at all times, hear the sound of his own voice at the expense of everyone around him and, most of all, to his own dignity. You will know him immediately, because the sounds coming from his mouth will bear the superficial tone of meaning, but fail to relate to what you have attempted to tell him in any meaningful way whatsoever. Does this poor insecure middle-aged white man interrupt your attempts to talk to other normal people at his business? Of course. Do they warn you with your body language that this happens all the time and it is not worth attempting to communicate with this foul person? Oh yes, to be sure they do! Human decency, common sense, and the chance to make a sale were all prevented by this man, and if you set foot in this business you can trust he will make himself known to you. Patent and transparent blowhard insecurity will overpower any semblance of filter he may have once had, no matter how many times he reads this and other reviews describing his behavior. I purchase a grohe cartridge which they had in stock, so i was extremely thrilled. However, when i put it in, the water kept flowing out. I put the original part back in and it stopped. When i checked the part, the new cartridge was "free spinning" so it was defective. I went back to return it, and the sales people were very kind, but the manager proceeds to tell me that i "broke" the cartridge when i installed it. I proceed to tell him the process, i used only hand tools, and the original part i disassembled 4x.... And it still worked. He proceed to tell me that he checks the parts prior to handing it to me before the sale, which i told him never happened (at least not in front of me) The manager was very upset, and angry and just gave me a replacement, then pretty much threw the receipt back to me and told me to just take and leave.... I grew up locally (mohican) and have always supported my local businesses. But this was a very disappointing experience. read more

After hours ( I mean hours) on youtube, multiple unhelpful trips to home depot, and multiple visits to other plumbing stores only to be told that they didn't have the correct washer sizes or that the stem to my leaky faucet was no longer being made, I finally went to Rebacks. I was sweating the entire drive there hoping that they wouldn't tell me I needed to replace my entire shower plumbing fixtures. Luckily Henri, who seemed to be a plumbing genius, literally took two seconds to identify the stems I needed without a question and brought them to me. I was dumbfounded not only that they had on stock the stems that manufacturers no longer make, but that Henri knew exactly what I was looking for within moments after stepping through their door. I came to Reback's because my plumber recommended I try there to find a replacement for an old shower valve stem. One of the staff was able to identify the part as a Chinese replica of a European model but didn't carry the part. While Reback's didn't have the part in stock, the staff member was able to polish and repair the one i brought in for 50 cents. I re-installed it and it worked like a charm. This store is nothing like it used to be. There used to be such knowledgeable guys that worked there. Now there is some guy that doesn't want to be there. While the salespeople are extremely knowledgeable at Reback's, this is your old fashioned, expensive store. I wound up cancelling a $ 2700.00 order after going home and finding the exact same things on line for $800.00 cheaper. While I expect to pay more for service, this was ridiculous. I called the sales person to tell him about the price discrepancy and he told me that they would match the prices I found on line. I sent him a wriiten list and he did not match the prices. I went into the store to show them that they did not match the prices as promised, and was treated very rudely and disrepectfully by the store manager. So, I cancelled the entire order. I need many more things for my bathroom project but will never go back there and do not recommend the store. read more

Very weird experience. I had been referred there by someone at Home Depot as they did not have the part I needed. He did warn me "they are gonna charge you!" It was out of my way, but I figured I'd give it a try. The business is located in a rough neighborhood, and the premises was generally unclean. The showroom had some nice fixtures, but everything was so crowded. I waited my turn at customer service, while a corpulent millennial with a sullen expression waited on another customer. At one point, he just looked at me, held out his hands, palms up, and said "well?" As the other customer had not left the counter, I replied "I didn't realize you were finished with her." He just stared at me sullenly, while leaning over the counter. Cognizant of social distancing, I waited until she left the counter, and I gave him the part that I needed replacing. He suggested that I needed two parts as the other "should fail soon." He quickly pulled out a part, and set it on the counter next to the part that I brought in. I noticed that his part was about 1/2" longer than mine, so I asked "is this really a match?" He snorted in derision "OF COURSE, it is!" He then proceeded to pull out a faucet handle and insert the part in very slowly, then picked up my part, and inserting it as well, sneering all the while "see, it fits." He then looked at me like I was a complete idiot. "Right, but my handle is a cross handle, with a screw on top, and and yours is not", telling him for the third time what type of handle that I had. He then asked if I had the screw, and when I looked down, I didn't see it in my plastic bag of parts, so I said no. He then scoffed at me, and practically shouted at me in an incredulous tone "It's right there in the bag!" Well, if he had seen it, then why did he ask me if I had the screw? It was a tiny thing, and from my vantage point, I didn't see it in the bag, under the other parts that I had been given. He tried to fit the screw into the new piece and it wouldn't fit. He then tried to find another screw, but didn't have one. At that point, I realized he really didn't know what he was doing, and couldn't help me. I thanked him for his time and casually asked the price. $40 each. I knew HD, and the other stores only charged $10-15 each, so it was obvious they weren't in tune with current pricing. After reading some of the other comments, I wonder if they make a good portion of their sales from their "restock" fees. If this guy was so adamant that I purchase an item that was not really a good fit, and purchase a second item because "it should fail soon," then it begs the question. While I understand this business has been around for 70 years, any smart business owner knows that good customer service wins out every time. One cannot always rely on past history to make sales. Employee knowledge is also critical. I had to tell this guy several times "I'm not a plumber." I expect the employees at a specialty store to be well-versed on the types of products that they sell, and not try to sell me products that aren't correct for my situation. It would be wise if the owners woke up and educated their staff on how to greet customers, interact with them, and properly service them. Also, be a little more competitively-priced. With the availability of products on the internet, customers have greater options - including returns with no "restocking" fees, and employees that know how to sell the correct parts. I have the feeling the owners and managers of this establishment don't really care, so it will be interesting to see how many more years they are in business. read more

After reviewing the rest of the reviews, I have experienced the good and the bad. Pros: The manager Henri and some of their associates, such as Chris, really know their stuff about plumbing. If you're patient with them they'll explain things for you and give you plumbing 101 regarding the specific plumbing situation. So if you're in a bind, and need your parts asap, Rebacks is probably your best bet; but you pay a premium because they do keep a good amount of parts in stock so you don't have to wait for the product to be shipped from the manufacturer to them. These guys are one of the few local distributors of California Faucets, which is the product I was looking for. There are not many distributors for Cal Faucets unfortunately so I couldn't just pick who I wanted to go with when it comes to plumbing stores. Cons: Their prices are better than "MSRP" but they're not going to be the best prices where you can get elsewhere locally at other plumbing stores or online. The other thing is that they charged me tax on for shipping/freight, when that's not a taxable item. Perhaps that was a mistake, but read your invoice in detail. Rebacks can be cocky because they're going to do business with or without you because they cater mostly to contractors in the local area, so they have a steady stream of business; therefore, as a consumer, you're going have to come in with some knowledge or pay more than other places. Super-Con: There is one sale rep. you have to avoid, and that's Ollie (you can't miss he talks loudly and obnoxious, and sticks out like a sore thumb); he talks a fast talk like a true sales person. As a consumer I want to make sure I am getting the correct part by explaining my plumbing situation, but before I can finish, he tends to think he knows what you're going to say and interrupts you. I also ask follow-up questions. When that happens, you can tell he is stumped and he hides that weakness by being frustrated and he just tries to make you feel dumb making you think you don't know what you're talking about (and makes idiotic comments such as "are you an engineer"). No, but I have a head on my shoulder with brains and can figure out how things work and if something doesn't sound right, I will ask a question to see if I understood correctly. Ollie thinks he knows much but he does not. He is one of those people when you ask why, he gets stumped because he truly doesn't know his craft and so he deflects his weakness by putting it on you and says just get this part this is it. And when you don't buy, he is even more annoyed. Sounds similar to a car salesman right? (When it came down it it. He was wrong TWICE when I came in two different times. Therefore, I avoid him and go to the other reps who have more knowledge.) read more

Do not shop here if you expect good service. I understand there are back orders due to COVID but the manger and his team's attitude is absolutely rude! I called about my back ordered item only to be brushed off. I've called once a week for the past four weeks. Alex guaranteed my shipment was on the way. When my order did not arrive again, Alex promised that he would look into my missing item and that Carlos, my sales rep, would call me back. Carlos never bothered to follow up with my phone calls. I finally called for a refund and the store manager gave me a lame excuse as to why he couldn't refund me over the phone. I will never come back here again! I chose to shop here because I wanted to give my money/business to a mom and pop store instead of a Big Box Company; Big mistake! Fourth plumbing supply place I've been to. I am so happy that not only did I get a weird out of stock discontinued wall-mounted faucet, I got the quickest service at the counter that I have ever received buying plumbing supplies anywhere. I am not kidding you, Herb took one look at the old fixture, told me what brand it was and walked straight back to a shelve and brought me the replacement. Herb took such good care of me I promise Rebacks is my forever plumbing supplier. While I was there I looked around the showroom. Great selection of tubs, faucets, door pulls and just about everything you could use in your kitchen or bath. Thank you Herb for a job well done! read more

Be careful if you're asking anyone here for advice. They are not plumbers but will act as though they are and that they know what they're talking about. THEY DON'T! There is a good selection of nice plumbing items here so go and shop for that but don't expect to get reliable how-to advice. They either can't give plumbing advice or they think it's humorous to actually give diyers bad advice. They could've had a customer for life if they'd simply been honest and told me they didn't carry the item I was looking for. But no, their guy pretended he was a plumber and he convinced me to change my plan and buy what he was selling rather than what I originally wanted, an item they don't sell. After, it was installed I learned my original idea, the one I was talked out of, was a far superior solution and I should've just found who carried it rather than been persuaded by a bs salesman. Sorry Reback's. You've got an issue at your front desk, imo. And your guy took a potential 'customer for life' and turned him into 'I'll never shop there again.' read more

This place has a nice showroom. I bought faucets and other items. However, when I came in for help on an item that broke after 3 weeks and some extra help on a toilet part, I was told by Alex to go call the company. Then he said that everything I buy here I break!!!! I have been in there more than once on the toilet part because of his incompetence. Told him to his face his was rude asked for the manager, "he's over there". I was taken care of. Alex's rudeness knows no bounds. And I have delt with him more than once. I decided to given them one last try, and walked in ready to buy. They have a reputation of being dismissive to women, but I like to support "brick and mortar" stores if possible. Their prices were quite a bit more (~ $100) than some competitors. I had purchased all of my plumbing fixtures for a large remodel from them in the past. Yesterday it was originally the mark up that made me go elsewhere, but in the end that's not why I walked. I am quite willing to pay more for guidance and information. The clerk was incredibly dismissive and arrogant, wanting to minimize our interactions even though I was almost the only customer. I sat and listened to him convince a customer that all the competitors were "disreputable" . It was all I could do to keep a straight face. I ended up finding a small local plumbing place and happily handed over my credit card when the man helped to problem solve and choose the best solution. read more

I searched all over the greater Los Angeles area for a hard-to-find 12 inch tub filler. Snyder Diamond wanted $1500 and their customer service isn't exactly pro-active unless you roll up in a Bentley. Then, because I have an excellent plumber, I found Herb Ebarra at Reback's Plumbing N' Things. He hooked me up with a gorgeous fixture for a fraction of the price, he knows absolutely everything about plumbing, and he's wonderful to deal with. SD, not so much. Make the trip to Gardena. This place is outstanding. I first went to Pacific Sales to purchase a medicine cabinet. They (Pacific Sales) quoted me one price one day and quoted me a higher price when I went to purchase the item a few days later. Of course I was told that the first quote was incorrect. I then decided not to purchase the item and stumbled across Reback's. I inquired about purchasing the exact same medicine cabinet and the Reback's salesman told me that the cabinet was recalled and I was entitled to a free one. I needed a replacement of thermostat control on my Hansgrohe shower unit. Pacific Sales recommended me to try Reback's as it no longer carries the replacement. The sales guy took out two boxes which totaled up to $600. I asked if i could return if my plumber could not use it. He said he would only accept if the box was not opened. I said how would the plumber know if he could not open the box. He then said " you Chinese always buy cheap stuff. You should shop at Home Depot". I can accept if he think I am ignorant of plumbing but to to stereotype Chinese or even any race as cheapskate is unacceptable. Will not shop there ever. read more

This place is loaded with hard to find plumbing parts and pieces. Reps are knowledgeable, but you will stand and wait for a while before someone actually acknowledges and helps you. Prices aren't the greatest, but you will at least get parts and items that you may not find elsewhere. read more

Yesterday went to get a quote on toilets and quite a few bathroom fixtures. Previously I had two other quotes for the same merchandise same manufacturer from Snyder and diamond and from WTC fixtures. Rebacks said they were going to give me the contractors price which ended up not only being higher then WTC which was the lowest but was higher than Snyder and diamond by quite a lot. read more

I will never shop at Reback's aagain. They charged me 5 times more than Home Depot did for a cylinder to fix my leaky faucet. They are extremely condescending when referring to on-line purchases or Home Depot (they called it a mom & pop shop.) very rude an uncooperative. I brought the bad valve cylinder in to get a replacement. They gave me on that they said would work they charged me $67.85, It did not work, so i took my original bad valve to home depot and they were extremely helpful. Found just the part I needed. Cost $14.84. BIG DIFFERANCE. No more Reback's for me. They are not a good company. read more

This place is awesome! I searched all over Southbay - Home Depot, Lowes, specialized commercial plumbing stores, etc and could not find replacement parts for my commercial sink. An employee at Home Depot told me about Rebacks and after googling it, finally found the place. Not only did they have the part in stock, but they were also friendly and quite helpful. Plus, I got there just a few minutes before they were closing and they still let me come in. I've been there a few times since my initial visit and they have always had the part in stock. What a pleasure it was to work with a company that respects and understands customer service. John Kamieniecki assisted me with the purchase of 3 new toilets and was awesome. I spent the previous day at Pacific Sales & Ferguson trying to get information and talk to a sales rep, I ended up walking out of both places after being ignored for 40 minutes. The showroom is full of all kinds of very cool stuff and they have a great plumbing repair parts inventory. My 15 year old Moan faucet started leaking. So, looking to replacement them, I took the broken pieces to Home Depot. The clerk took one look and said, "Try Reback's". Made the drive to Gardena and showed the pieces to the guy at the counter. He said, "Let me get that for ya" and came back a minute later with just what I needed. Just can't beat that. read more
