Truffle fries - hand cut and excellent!

When we're blown away by a restaurant we like to return to make sure there's consistency of product, so we went to Reckless again tonight. WOW!!!! This time we ordered the Cobb () again, the truffle hand cut fries AND the Reuben ( brisket!!!!!!!!!!!!)....OMG! This place is REALLY, REALLY AMAZING! Arielle was a PERFECT server. She was attentive and extremely kind. Atmosphere is what it should be! But the food.....it's close to heaven! If you're in Fruita, you need to support this wonderful business!!!! No, I am not related to the chef, the owner, the wait staff or Anyone - this is a truthful and righteous review of an establishment that's doing a GREAT job!!!

Hubby enjoying the jalapeño poppers with homemade jam to dip them in!

Absolutely incredible experience at Reckless Brewing in Fruita! My husband and I stopped in for dinner and were blown away from start to finish. We started with the jalapeño poppers -- wrapped in bacon and served with the most delicious homemade jam. You can tell almost everything on the menu is made from scratch, and it makes all the difference. For dinner, we shared the 1lb dry rub chicken wings and the Brewhouse Mac and Cheese topped with pulled pork (both smoked in-house). The wings were phenomenal -- perfectly smoky and seasoned -- and the mac and cheese was hands down the best we've ever had. Creamy, flavorful, and unforgettable! My husband tried the Darth Lager (a tasty dark amber brewed right there), and I had a margarita that Josh -- our bartender and server -- made from scratch. It was so good I ended up ordering two! Josh was an absolute gem: friendly, attentive, and so passionate about what he does. He even let us sample his homemade amaretto and root beer -- both incredible! Truly, what can't this man do? We'd come back just to see Josh again. His hospitality and talent made the night extra special. As for some of the negative Yelp comments about the menu names -- honestly, we didn't find anything offensive at all. The atmosphere was fun, laid-back, and welcoming. If you're anywhere near Fruita, do yourself a favor and stop by Reckless Brewing. Great food, great drinks, and even better people.

Trail Life Brewing - Massaman Katsu curry

What a cute place! When I arrived on a Thursday night it was POPPIN and they had live music which…read morewas a super fun vibe. You go to the counter to order and then find a spot where you can. They had plenty of outside area (a patio with seating and some open space where you can enjoy a drink while waiting to find a seat somewhere) which was perfect for me because I got a cocktail and Togo food. Lots of people had raved about the Massaman katsu curry so I had to try it! It did not disappoint! At first I was disappointed to see how full the bowl was but the amount was PLENTY! I was stuffed after a few corn and about half the curry plate. I am so happy I tried this place out! Will definitely be trying it again when I'm back in town!

I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere, as the place definitely has great vibes, and I loved…read morethat they had a wide variety of different beers on tap to choose from. I also really appreciated that they had hard kombucha on tap, which was a unique and welcome option for me. I spent most of my time out on the outdoor patio, which is very nice and was filled with lots of people hanging out, making for a really lively and fun environment. However, my biggest complaint about this place was that the food was pretty bad; while I understand that it's primarily just a brewery, I was still quite disappointed by the quality, especially since the menu items were not cheap. Come for the beers, skip the food and same yourself some dough figuratively and literally.

Trail Life Brewing - The Swiss melt with fries. This was the best "grilled cheese" ever. The apples and bacon jam on it was absolutely delicious.

They took good care of us. Now for the most important part--the food. I genuinely wish I had spent my $60 at McDonald's instead, because this meal was not worth the price. I ordered the fish tacos and was disappointed the second I took a bite. The cod was completely dry, lacked any flavor, and honestly didn't even taste seasoned. The avocado on top added nothing, the cabbage was cold, and the whole dish itself came out cold even though it should've been fresh from the fryer. The chips and queso ended up being the best part of the meal. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and he described it as cold, soggy, and way too sweet. He did enjoy his beer, and I liked my drink too, but that alone isn't enough for us to return. I personally won't be coming back, but I still encourage others to try it for themselves--everyone's taste is different.
