Great dog park ... wide open spaces for doggies to run and beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend this dog park.

    Kid friendly!

Really love this place. I've been hanging out in Long Beach watching my mom's pups, so typically I'm rolling up with 3 dogs and they all love it. One just watches the squirrels in the trees. The other two love socializing and chasing balls. The dogs and owners are super friendly and my dogs always leave well patted and tuckered out. The parking lot always seems to have a spot open and it's super close to the park. There's also a small dog side, but I haven't been there.

Super nice dog park with lots of open space for your pup to run. Well maintained and clean, all fenced in with a large big dog area and a smaller little dog area.

I'm our travels back home heading out of the Los Angeles area. We stopped at this dog park because we had our bully with us and we figured it'd be a great opportunity to see how she reacts with other dogs at an actual dog park. This location has two separate areas, which is an area for smaller dogs and then an area for larger dogs and actually one section area for maybe dogs that should not be around other dogs kind of like a run strip. But there are some little obstacles for the dogs to become acquainted with looks like there may have been like some summer Shower areas that dogs can partake in the warmer weather. There is a dog drinking fountain here that our bully enjoyed. We kept her in the leash as she's not fully trained, but she did enjoy herself and seeing the other dogs, and becoming acquainted with them. Pretty decent size area, lots of sitting benches to rest on. For the most part for your dog, getting exercise and becoming acquainted and making little friends, it's an area worth visiting. The surrounding area of the dog park is pretty neat as well to check out during your stop here.

My boy Kona really enjoys this park. Im doing this review after half dozen visits, ranging from before Covid to after. From.ourfirst visit my wife and I were impressed, They have 2 sections, large and small dogs for safety. Each area includes and doggie bag dispenser, water fountain and benches and tables. The area itself is pretty large, both sides have plenty of room to play. The park is very clean, people pick up after their fur kids which is great. The patrons are friendly and welcoming. I did notice that some.people would bring their large dogs into the small dog area which seemed to intimidate some of the owners of the tiny dogs, it did me to at first because Kona is just under 25lbs I wasn't to sure what to expect but Kona did ok. I. l was told the park was lit up in the early evenings but I haven't been there at night to confirm or deny that. If I was to ask for anything to be different it would be to.maybr add an area with a little grass but I was able to walk Kona on the outside of the park after play time, there was grass there so that was nice

Ample space for dogs of all sizes and ages to play and run! There are two different areas: one for dogs of all sizes and another one specifically for small dogs. The small dog area has agility-like equipment. There is access to water hoses and water bowls for our furry friends. Parking space can be limited and a bit challenging on the weekends. There is also a lot of green space for your dog(s) to run around outside of the fenced area.

This dog park has been around since I've been living in Long Beach probably either one of the most big ones around. I got a puppy in August as you can see in the pictures he is still a baby but a big boy and he absolutely loves his dog park it's filled with all different kind of dogs and he just enjoys it. It's like a paw party every day. I at least try to take my dog here at least three times out of the week or as much as I can depending on my work schedule but this park is absolutely amazing it's very safe for my dog to run around and be a dog so I love it.

    Huge and Fun Dog park!

What a find! Wish we had a park like this near to us. This was our first visit to Recreation Dog Park, after SUPing nearby. Paddle boarding is great mental stimulation for Betty but not so physical. So checked this park out so she could tire herself out physically. Huge. All dirt no grass. Lotsa room to RUN full speed. And lots of trees, tree stumps, etc to jump on. My girl had a BLAST in the first 10 minutes. Then, someone hit a golf ball near the fence as this park borders the golf course. The sound of golf balls hitting golf club and tennis balls hitting racquets scares my sweet girl as in she ran for the gate and scratched at it to get out. So we left asap. She was 5 when she adopted me so I'm not sure how that started. People here actually watch their kids not nose deep in their phone. Plenty of seating for the humans. Cool (old?) retro benches from the transit system. Water fountain closer to small dog side. I bring our own bowl just to be safe. Not here this day but I have seen dogs pee in the bowls at dog parks. We were here on a Monday around 11:30am, some shade, not at all crowded. Clean, didn't see any poop in the park. We entered off of Seventh between Park Ave and Santiago. Good sized parking lot, I didn't count, maybe 25 spots. Probably fills up fast on weekends. I took a bunch of videos, but for some reason can't post them.

Convenient location- it is a large dog park- biggest one I've been to locally. It does have a small dog area as well. There's no grass in the dog park- just sand. Lots of benches to sit and relax, while the pups play. Plenty of trees for shade. 2 Water sources inside the park. They do supply poop bags, as well as a pooper scooper. Trash cans are right on the on the other side of the fence. Plenty of parking. Fun to watch the fishing across the way. Very relaxing. Some agility equipment is provided to give more options than just play at the park

    Cut on paw

Beware! The ground is too harsh for dog paws. My dog came home with major scrapes on her feet and paws. Don't take your dog here, specially if they love running.

I really enjoyed this dog park. I love how the city repurposed the trees to have tree stumps, and giant logs for the dogs to jump on. This is a great space that has two sets of watering areas for large dogs, obstacle course items and plenty of seating. The floor is sand/dirt based, no grass. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite dog parks in the OC/Long Beach area. I'll be coming back again soon!

Love this dog park. Not because it's a 5 star facility. Its not. It's all dirt with a few obstacles that the dogs seem to enjoy. This place is a local favorite with the dogs and they're owners alike. What I like about this place is that everyone here is very cool and the dogs always have a great time. Whenever I can tire out my dog while interacting and playing with other dogs is always a good day. We've been coming here for years and will continue to for years to Come!

I brought my beautiful dog Stella to this park And it was actually good. Did not know what to really expect but I'm glad I liked it and Stella seemed to enjoy her time here as well. Park looks safe there is water for pups to drink. I give it 4 stars just because I wish there was grass inside the gate besides that i recommend it.

Like the walk of fame but better

And we do have a go-to dog park for occasions like this, but given an all-day free Saturday, I thought about checking out a new place. And that's how we found this spot. It is what most Yelpers say what it is: small. Prime (my fur baby) is more used to one of those large dirt and grass kinda areas. He enjoyed it anyway since he met new fur-friends and got to play with them for a bit. It worked out even better since my cousin met us there to bring his fur baby to a dog park for the very first time. This was a good first run for him - I figure it a good idea start him out in a small area to see how how reacts with other dogs and mostly so he doesn't get too overwhelmed. From the looks of it, it's safe to say that enjoyed his very first dog park run. Doggy bags and water fountains are provided for both pups and hoomans alike. There are also benches available. Parking is available, both private and street. It is very well maintained, but as small as it is, it shouldn't be that much of an issue. Alas, as nice and clean as it is, we probably won't be back. It just isn't big enough for my pup to run around. However! If you and your pup are more into just chillin', then this is the place.

It's quiet. Shady. Lots of grass. Gentle hills that make throwing a ball way more fun than it should be. Bring a blanket, park nearby (just not directly in front of the lawn bowling unless you're okay gambling with the occasional errant ball ), then relax. Watch the bowlers, throw a ball for your dog, read a book, eat a snack, take a nap, or just touch some grass for a while. My review is really just for this little corner of the park because that's where we spent our afternoon. But Recreation Park itself has a huge dog park, a playground, tennis courts, golf, ball fields, a bandshell, and even an area for fly-casting practice. Last weekend I drove out to El Dorado Park looking for this exact feeling. Ironically, this little corner of Recreation Park delivered it even better.
