Visited August 2nd..see receipt. Before checking out Walmart in Willows for some candles I thought I would try this place. It has an Asian fusion menu with some interesting choices. I ordered the burger with avocado and bacon that came with waffle fries along with the chicken satay appetizer. The burger was cooked nicely and it tasted good. I had them cook the bacon alittle more since I like it alittle crispy. Bun was not warm but still tasted fresh. The chicken satay is always my "go to" at some of my favorite Thai restaurants. The peanut sauce is always included in the meal. The chicken was cooked nicely and was very tasty. I was shocked to see on my bill that they charged me an extra 2.50 for the peanut sauce that is supposed to be included in the price. Thus not 5 stars. The owner offered to refund me the 2.50 ( i declined) but I think it's important to have full transparency on what you are assuming is included per the menu description. The wait staff ( including the bartender) were very pleasant and professional. The inside is clean and bathroom was spotless. They have a full bar and have regular seating and bar seating. They also have happy hour on certain days. I would probably eat here again in the future if I am driving through on highway 5.

I was very amazed by the food at this restaurant in this little town. I'm usually skeptical and was skeptical to try Asian food in little small towns but I must say, the food was super delicious and everything was amazing! The server was very attentive and the owner even came out to check on the customers. It's a very cute restaurant and catered to families. I tried the chili oil on my fried noodles and ended up buying some to take home. Although I don't travel up north much since I live in Sacramento but I will definitely stop by again when I head up that way. You will not be disappointed!

We were in the middle of no where on our road trip back to Oregon. Looking on trusty Yelp for food while gassing up. This place popped up. It was near by. Glad we stopped in. We were quite surprised by the ambience, and the good food. I think I liked my food a little more than he did. I had the phad kee mo. He had a mango chicken stir fry something. Sounded good, I tried bites. It wasn't bad. We also had some wings that were good. Go chu jang I believe. They also had pumpkin chips. They were good. Interesting, I have never tried them before. My 5-stars are reserved for exceptional experiences and this was one of them! Had to come find out what this place was and so we jumped in the car for the 46-min trip (from Chico). The menu made it hard for me to decide what we wanted, but we knew the Thai dry rub wings appetizer was a definite. They were cooked perfectly with a breading that looked heavy but was perfect. The dry rub was citrusy with amazing heat. Entrees were the Mentai Salmon Bowl and the Creamy Miso Burger. Both were excellent. Hubs upgraded to the Drunken birria fires and oh my...they were crazy good! There was so much on the menu I still want to try so I will be back! Loved the inside of this place.

This place has amazing food! It's just a nice, clean little restaurant with a full bar. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I had the pork ramen and it was the best I've ever had. My wife had the Pad Thai and also loved it. I can't recommend Red 88 highly enough. read more

Surprisingly amazing place with a diverse and interesting menu! We loved the pumpkin fries, and the Triple B burger with its special dip was outstanding. How great to see a new place in town to eat! The moment you walk into the restaurant you are greeted by friendly & genuine staff. My order tonight was for take out and I'm happy I waited (30 minutes) while enjoying a beer at the bar. While looking around at others meals- WOW! Great portions, and everyone saying how good it was. I will attest the food is good and the portions spot on. I'm excited to go back to try other items on the menu. Only critique tonight is to use fresh carrots as opposed to frozen. We are on a return trip to home in Bend OR. And stopped in Willows for the night. Found Red88 on Yelp and after reviewing the menu knew it was the right spot to try! Food was amazing and the friendly and knowledgeable staff added to the experience. Menu has a wide variety of food all at reasonable prices. I enjoyed the Salmon Metai Bowl and my husband had the wagyu umami burger. He devoured it and said it was one of the best burgers ever. This has got to be a place for us Thunderhill Raceway track day junkies to enjoy some good food while out in Willows before and/or after a day of driving on track. Food was delicious and service was polite and attentive this is our second time going and no disappointment. I really recommend the birria fries as appetizer. I got the tiger steak cook to perfection and flavorful. Hubby got the pad thai noodles and almost finished his whole plate. We also got the fried ice cream as dessert so good. Less than 1 star. Ask for refund of my Doordash fees because they forgot an item. I have the flu and chose Doordash as not to infect anyone. Still had to drive down to pick up my food. Never eating here again. They owe me delivery fees. Sadly, I may have gotten patrons sick having to go inside to deal with them. read more

This is a place that I would never expect in Willows and I mean that in the best possible way! The service was excellent, very helpful and good sense of humor. The food was all delicious, I didn't take pictures as I was starving from being at the racetrack all day. We had a party of 10 and they handled it with ease! Super delicious. Wagyu burger on the special menu for tonight. So much flavor and so juicy with waffle fries. Kalin and Rali help us out and was wonderful. Super good beer selection as well. And they have big tvs to watch any sporting events . I would for sure come back again. The owners are super chill as well. Love this place. 10/10. Oh my gosh. We found this place by accident. It's so good we've been back 4 times in 4 weeks. We always get it to go. Each container is sealed which insures no tampering. The fried rice with an egg on top is outstanding. It comes with this amazing red sauce. I highly recommend read more

We have been coming to Red 88 consistently since they have opened. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal or a bad experience here. The dishes are innovative and flavorful and there are always new dishes to try. The staff are great and you can tell Chef Net cares about her staff and her customers. They have a large selection of great beers on tap, full bar with fun and tasty drinks, and a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks... My favorite is the Thai tea with boba. It's also nice and cool inside on a hot day! read more

History

Established in 2023.

Family owned and locally operated, Executive Chef Ketmoree, or ‘Mama’ as she has been nicknamed by regulars and staff, brought her kids to America from Thailand for the American Dream. While her kids were attending school, ‘Mama’ was operating her restaurant, and taught them the ropes of the restaurant industry from a young age. Her daughters Nu and Net went on to further their education; Net travelled the world to attend various culinary schools and Nu graduated obtained her Managerial Economics degree from UC Davis. Nu and Net, who have a lifetime of culinary experience, have now taken over to allow their mom to retire from over 2 decades of her passion of restaurant operating and culinary excellence. With their passion for food and hospitality, they continue the legacy of Red 88 in Davis and Willows.

We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and were told the wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour. We understood it was busy and put our name down. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes, we checked back in, only to be told they had no idea when we'd be seated. We gave it another 10 minutes, but still no timeline or update. I completely understand that restaurants get slammed and wait times can be unpredictable. What was frustrating wasn't the wait itself - it was the lack of honest communication. If it was going to be a 1.5-2 hour wait, just tell us upfront so we can make an informed decision about our evening. Honestly, the host seemed to have forgotten about us as she seemed surprised and scrolled way down the list to find our name even though we were "top of the list". After waiting over 1.5 hours with no end in sight and getting increasingly hungry, we had to leave and grab food elsewhere. With three hosts working, I would have expected better expectation management than what we experienced tonight. I hope this was just an off night, but we left disappointed and hungry.

The mocktails looked wonderfully thirst-quenching, but my soul was calling for an orange wine. It served its purpose quite nicely. The menu centers on healthier bar food options, and the intention comes through beautifully. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully sourced, and lovingly prepared rather than simply assembled. The offerings lean playful, with subtle Asian influences that keep things interesting. Our group chose to lean in on the more indulgent side of the menu. The rice tots? Unexpected, whimsical, and absolutely worthy of sharing, crispy little conversation starters. We enjoyed this starter with a little bowl of seasoned mixed nuts. But let's discuss the pastrami sandwich. A glorious indulgence layered with melty cheese, kimchi slaw, and piled onto a locally baked brioche bun. Restraint was simply not invited to this meal. My dinner companions opted for the cheeseburger and were completely delighted. Classic in concept, but elevated in execution, right down to the burger sauce, which struck that elusive perfect balance of tangy, savory, and craveable. And the fries? Skinny, McDonald's-style (yes, that's a compliment), with exactly the right crunch and seasoning. Roselle manages that lovely balancing act of feeling casual yet intentional, playful yet polished. A very happy little find in Chico, California.

We were so excited to find this restaurant! After seeing all the mouthwatering photos of the salmon bowl on Yelp, I couldn't wait to try it, and it did not disappoint. Both my boyfriend and I ordered it, and it was absolutely delicious. He enjoyed his so much that he ended up finishing mine too. If I order it again, I might ask for a little less mayonnaise since it was a bit heavy for me, but that's just personal preference. One small heads-up for those who care about this sort of thing.
