Great restaurant if you're trying to decide between Vietnamese and Thai. This place does them both and does them well.

I have been to Red Chili multiple times throughout the years. Many dishes are flavorful and many are a miss. Some dishes are too pricey in my opinion. You can get a mixture of Thai food or Vietnamese food. When it's busy here it's very busy with a couple waiters/waitresses. The parking is in the bacK unless you get lucky with the couple spots they have in front of the restaurant. read more

Had a great lunch with my friend here food was on point. Service was excellent and I was able to eat my food and get back to work on time.

I have been here a few times, on and off during the years. I absolutely love their roti !!! their pad thai and pad sew !!! Especially their 3 sauces on the side.... Came here the other day for dinner and service was quick and they were polite. Parking here is a hassle though, you are lucky if you get to park in front of the entrance other wise drive around and park at the back. Ordered our food and not even 10 minutes our food was ready ! I will need to come back and try their banh xeo hehehe and imperial rolls. read more

This placed used to be my go to when I lived in Hayward. I enjoyed their chicken pho and vegan noodle soup. The broth used to be very clean and now it is just over seasoned and hopefully not full of msg. My mouth is super dry due to the sodium. Won't go back anymore :( read more

I don't know what's up with the negative reviews. I get it. This place can get extremely busy and you do have to wait for your server for quite some time. Just be patient! While waiting, start looking at the menu! Pros: -Pad Thai is the bomb! I love love their pad thai! -I also love their cube steak, rotti, yellow curry, thai ice tea, etc! I don't remember the rest. Lol -You can call for pick-up, you can call and reserve a table and order ahead of time so when you get there.. food is almost ready! -They can accommodate big groups (I suggest calling ahead of time to reserve tables!) -Vegan options -A la carte options/individual orders Cons: -Parking can be bad when the place is busy but I don't mind it. I just park next door. Lol - You have to spend approximately $10-$15 in order to pay using your card, otherwise, just pay with cash! -Yea yea, service is a little bit slow when busy. Came here last night for dinner with a friends of mine. The restaurant is nice and clean well set up the food was pretty good a little bit on the higher price though but the problem comes the quantity of food you get for what you paid for. It is a bit skimpy for the price for sure. We order a salty fish fry rice 12.95 about (2 -3 cup of rice )pumpkin curry 10.95 in a cube steak with pepper (about 15-18 picese of 1/2 inch to 1/2 inch steaks )and bell pepper. 13.95and chicken curry 10.95 . you would think that would be enough for two adults and a 12-year-old but little did we know that was not the case. Both me and my friend Avg. eaters we don't eat a lot just long as the food is quality. We had to order an extra order of drunken noodle12.95 and 2 order of rice 1.50 each a Thai tea , and one coke. to try to fill up. set an all 05 dishes came to about 80 bucks and We all was about 80% full so beware if your are hungry. I have been coming to Red Chili for some time now and the food has always been good, but I'm saddened to see that their customer service slowly keeps declining. Tonight we went to have dinner and had the unfortunate experience of being attended to by a waiter that by the look on her face would have rather been somewhere else. When she brought my drink that I had ordered she slammed it down in front of the wrong person and without even paying attention walked away. As we are eating dinner I noticed that in the corner there were two waiters. One sat down while the other did her hair. To make matters worse is that once in a while they would stop playing with their hair and they would take someone their dinner without even washing their hands. Can we say UNSANITARY and disgusting. If this continues happening it will be time for me to look for a different restaurant. read more

I have been looking for a Thai place close to my new home...and I think I have found it...I love thai crab fried rice and roti!!! The only thing I really eat that's thai...and so not everyone can make it and not everyone offers brown rice...it was great and they made it spicy...although it took the two times to do it. If it isn't spicy when it comes out of the kitchen...if they didn't cook the rice with the chilis from the start, it is hard to get it where it should have been. And so doing it over with the same food doesn't work...so that's why 4 stars! It was still flavorful the roti with yellow curry was great! Service was decent, we didn't lack for anything while there...we definitely were taken care of. Very extensive menu too, with lots of choices...so I know I will be exploring their menu a little more! Yay, I am so excited to have found my Thai place! Moved into the area recently and the place was amazing. The food is flavorful and the portions are great as well. It looks like there is construction happening near by which is why its all boarded up so best way to order would likely be to go. This place is absolutely amazing. Definitely our new go-to thai spot. The customer service was amazing and the food was even better. They made accommodations to make sure my food was gluten free (I have an allergy) and even allowed me to make extra requests. The panang curry and pumpkin curry was the best I've ever tried and was reasonably priced as well. It was rich and sumptuous, and had a perfect amount of veggies and meat. Not the best thai place I've had. We got the pineapple fried rice and it was lacking flavor and the rice was dry. We also ordered the spicy fried rice and got it extra spicy but that made it impossible to eat which ultimately influenced my rating. If you're going to make food that spicy you should at least note how extreme the spice levels can get to caution against going too hard on the spice. We were actually heading to this area to go to the BBQ place next door, but it was a Tuesday and they were sadly closed despite what Google maps told us, so we figured we'd have Thai instead since we were already there. We'd eaten here before and thought it was alright, but I don't think we'll be coming back a third time. The service was good, but the food was not. We had chicken satay, tom kha soup with chicken, and beef pad see ew, our standard things to test new Thai restaurants. The chicken satay was probably the best thing at the table, but it's really hard to mess up chicken on a stick with peanut sauce. It even came with a little bowl of pickled cucumbers as a palate cleanser, which I appreciated. The tom kha soup was the worst tom kha soup I have ever had in my life. It smelled and tasted so strongly of fish sauce that I had to cover my unfinished bowl so the odor wouldn't mess up the flavor of the other food. Also, you know that weird tenderized to hell texture that beef has at chinese restaurants? Somehow they did that to the chicken in this soup. It was in thin pieces that had no texture to them other than being kind of squishy. The other ingredients in the soup mostly just tasted like the broth, which is to say absolutely terrible. The pad see ew was okay, because I'm always a fan of wide chewy noodles, but the flavor was nothing special and the beef was, again, that weird squishy tenderized texture. It had both broccoli and chinese broccoli, so at least I could eat noodles and vegetables along with the chicken satay and feel like I had a complete meal. I'm not sure why I have more positive memories of this place from the last time we were here. Maybe we ate from the more Vietnamese part of the menu? Maybe the pho or curry was better, since those are the other things we would have ordered previously. We still haven't found our go-to Thai place, but this ain't it. read more

The food here is decent. It was conveniently located to an office event otherwise this would not be my first choice for Thai food. The fish curry was the star of our meal. I could drink up that sauce. The Pad Thai was ok, not great but not that bad. The okra was extremely salty and had a weird foul odor to it. My bf always talked about how yummy the food here was and when he brought me I was not disappointed! We ordered the pad thai, tom kha soup, and honey wasabi walnut shrimp. I've had a ton of pad thai in my life and I must say this one was one of the tops. The noodles were flavorful and also perfectly drenched in the right amount of sauce. The soup was also the perfect balance of mild spicy and sour. For the honey wasabi shrimp, I've never had this dish flavored with wasabi, which I didn't mind and it was yummy to me. However, my bf who took a leap of faith on it didn't like it at all because to him the wasabi mayo was too overpowering for him. So make sure the people in your party can handle wasabi flavor even in the slightest! The boba in the thai tea we ordered was cooked well to my surprise. The reason for the one star knock off was because the service was very slow the day we went and a lot of times we had to stand up to call a waiter or go to the front desk ourselves with the check. Nestled in a little corner on Mission Street, this restaurant can be easily missed if you are not paying attention. Parking around this area can be a challenge. There is limited parking in front of the restaurant but I recently found of that there are more parking spots in the back of the restaurant! Yay! If all else fails, you can park in the "Burger King" parking lot (Don't tell them I told you that). The owners of the restaurant are Thai and Vietnamese and they bring a great variety of delightful dishes to the menu! One can really enjoy excellent dishes from both of those countries right here in this restaurant. A girlfriend and I recently came here as I have been hearing raving reviews about this place! We walked in and were warmly greeted right away. The restaurant is a pretty decent size and usually there is no wait. It's not a table cloth-type place. The staffs here are great and welcoming; they even helped with making suggestions when I couldn't decide on a dish. The food comes out pretty quick! The first time coming we ordered: * Pineapple fried rice * Thai tea * Crab fried rice * Wings * Roti Everything was delicious and freshly cooked. The entree's we chose were all between $8 and $9, so I call that pretty reasonable to get filled up with tasty food. They can make it spicy, so make sure you know what you're getting into FYI: Be aware of the spicy level. On my wings I ordered mild and BOY! Were those wings spicy! I may need to ask for no spice next time! HA! One thing that I truly loved about the service is that my girlfriend had ordered the Pad Tai and once it came out and tried it, she didn't like it. We ordered yellow curry with a side of rice and some pad see ew. The yellow curry was nothing to brag about, but it tasted fine. Used to hit this place up all the time when I worked in the area. This place can get pretty packed during lunch hour. They do have parking in the back but try to get there a little early to get a spot. If not, I always parked in the complex nearby. My go to is always the Pad Ke Mao spicy (Drunken Noodles). Delicious Thai and Vietnamese food! I love the avocado shrimp spring rolls, pad Thai & tamarind prawns. The only item I wasn't crazy about was the yellow curry, which was too heavy for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good but I just felt super stuffed and needed to take a nap afterwards. The parking lot is small but i parked in the neighboring lot both times I went and had no issues.
