    Sweet & Sour Pork

I only found out about this restaurant because my Chinese father-in-law has been working nearby and he's stopped by for lunch many times. They have lunch specials M-F, you know dishes with rice included. We came on a Saturday so there wasn't any lunch specials so we had to order by each entree. *The sweet and sour pork - the pork was fried so fresh and crispy! *Father-in-law's all time favorite is the beef and bitter melon chow fun *the shrimp and egg gravy chow fun was delicious. For the Cantonese speakers out there - you can taste the "wok hay" ( *dried green beans were good also Service is always good according to my father-in-law and the day we ate here too. They were also very fast. Wifey can't wait to come back to this hole in the way Chinese restaurant in Hayward!

Hong Kong restaurant is a Hayward establishment for excellent Chinese food. One of the best for sure! I've been coming here since 2001. Last night I had the chance to revisit this "legendary" spot, only this time decided to do take out. Just like I how remembered. The hot and sour soup was on point (contains pork), the chow fun was cooked to perfection and not overly greasy. Their honey walnut shrimp was top notch. However there was something missing but I can't describe what that was. Maybe it'll come back to me when I keep ordering from them. Definitely a must try for great Chinese food. Recommendation: try their wor wonton soup (my favorite)

Orange Chicken: Beats Panda Express Orange Chicken which I use as a benchmark. Nice and cripsy outside and tender chicken inside.

Visiting my bro in Hayward and we were in the mood for HK style Chinese food, we've been to Cecil's Burger near it many times and I've noticed the generic sounding restaurant close by. Who knew it would hit the spot perfectly and be exactly what we were looking for. Our whole order was ready in 15 minutes! Orange Chicken: Beats Panda Express Orange Chicken which I use as a benchmark. Nice and cripsy outside and tender chicken inside. Beef Chow Fun: The exact standard beef chow fun we wanted, no fancy meats or weird ingredients, just noodles, beef, bean sprouts, and green onions. Was not super oily like other places and the noodles were perfect and not mush that falls apart. Honey Walnut Shrimp: I can't even fault them for being low on walnuts and only including 3-4 walnuts for our order. The shrimp was amazing and it made me hungry the whole drive home smelling it. Combination Crispy Noodles: My wife liked it but the noodles came super tiny almost like grains of rice, we've never seen it like that before but it made it easier to eat with a spoon. Loved the takeout simplicity as well, our order came in one up-cycled cardboard tray that was honestly easier to handle and less prone to spilling than a ton of plastic bags.

Came here on Friday, 7/5. It was way too hot in the bay to cook at home. We had 17 people in our entourage (kids and adults). Wasn't busy because of the holiday weekend. Service was friendly and fast. I always based my reviews on two dishes and this place knocked it out of the park. 1-Beef Chow Fun (dry style)-Dry is the only way to eat this dish. The beef was full of great flavor. The noodles were fresh and chewy. Great consistency and that "wok hei" flavor. Super Yummy. 2-Chicken Fried Noodle (HK style)-Great blend of crispy and non-crispy noodles. The veggies and chicken tasted great and so did the flavor of the noodles. Other dishes we ordered were sweet and sour pork chops (tasted great), honey walnut prawns (the walnuts were great), steamed fish (done well), fried rice (could use more eggs but OK), crispy chicken wings (very good). They gave us some veggie eggrolls (not my thing, would prefer the pork or chicken version). To start everything, we had the West Lake Beef Soup. It had good flavor and everyone at the table enjoyed it. Not my go to soup because they use parsley in it. I would have preferred the Seafood with Tofu soup. For dessert, they gave us sweet oranges and fortune cookies. My brother ordered the raspberry iced tea and it was a splash with him. Edit: I originally posted this for the wrong restaurant by the same name in Rio Vista, CA.

Always on the hunt for honey walnut prawns and I have to say this restaurant's version is a local favorite because I like for the sauce to have that hint of citrus to balance out the sweetness. I've been back a few times and tried a couple other things but I always get the honey walnut prawns. My other favorite dish here is the Mongolian beef, but you can see from the pictures, it's made with inconsistent quantities of chili pepper flakes. Since I'm weak sauce, I like it less spicy and will have to remember to request it as such. A homey, affordable, family run Chinese restaurant serving all the classics and offering very kind service.

This was my second time ordering takeout from Hong Kong. I didn't realize it was so close to our house. Since COVID, we don't really dine out as much and enjoy ordering takeout and eating in the comfort of our own homes. Anyway, I decided to give it another shot because the first time I ordered was over a year ago and it wasn't memorable. I read the reviews once again and they hooked me in. I called in the order and they said 15 minutes, so that was a quick turnaround. We got: *Honey walnut prawns 4/5 Pretty good, but small portions *Mongolian beef 4/5 Had all the right flavors, but the onions are a bit overwhelming *Garlic chicken 3.5/5 Tasty, but more vegetables than chicken. *Westlake beef soup (not pictured) 5/5 My favorite soup and it was so good. I can't say much about the ambiance since we didn't dine in, but it looks like your typical mom-and-pop Chinese restaurant with good eats and lots of chatter. :-)

Im trying to eat for fertility so i need fish!!! Found this place on yelp of course. Its kinda like a hole in wall restaurant which is surprisingly realllly good!! I got the following: Fish stomach seafood soup Steamed fish with black bean sauce chinese broccoli with oyster sauce Seafood Fried rice. Bill came to $55.00 with tip. Kinda cheap for each item i think. Their soup was only $12.00! Loveeddd the steamed fish and the seafoodfried rice!!! Highy recommend. I thought the fried rice might come like smelly fish but it was the opposite so good like it was cooked in beef/pork prior..lol Enough food for tomorrow 2!!

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.

A beautiful setting for a celebration with exceptional service and delicious food…read more Attended a graduation lunch at Chef's Bistro today and came away thoroughly impressed. Our group was seated in one of their banquet rooms, which was spacious, beautifully decorated, and perfect for celebrating such a special occasion. The service was exceptional throughout the event. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly despite the size of our party. The food was even better. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including chicken salad, chow mein, fried rice, honey prawns, teriyaki steak, dried spare ribs, Peking spare ribs, garlic green beans, salt and pepper chicken wings, egg rolls, and basil fish. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and served hot. A standout for me was the pomegranate margarita from the bar. It was refreshing, well balanced, and paired perfectly with the meal. Between the beautiful banquet space, attentive service, and excellent food, Chef's Bistro made for a memorable celebration. I can't wait to come back and experience more of the menu.

We ordered Sweet & Sour Pork, Combination Fried Rice, & Chicken Lettuce Wraps - comfort food. Portions are generous, possibly good for five people. It was as we remembered, seasoned just right & flavorful. The dining hall itself is decorated beautiful. It has an upscale ambiance. The dining experience could have been better. Servers & restaurant staff were very serious. No pleasantries were expressed when we entered or when we were seated. No smiles on their faces. It felt like that they didn't want to be there! We confirmed by the response to our tea experience. We ordered Jasmine tea for 2. When it arrived in a heavy pot, we let it steep for 2 minutes before we poured it into cups. It was luke warm, slightly warmer than tap water & it tasted like water. We requested that it be replaced. It was taken away by our server with a frown on her face, no apologies. Another server later walked by & explained it would be a couple of minutes. When the pot returned, we put a timer for 3 minutes. Now it was hot, but not tea hot, but still lacking Jasmine flavor. By this time, none of the servers checked in on us about the tea. We finally called our server. She explained that the manager's instructions were to put 1 tsp of tea leaves. If we want it darker, we should steep it longer. We did. That didn't work. Still no tea flavor. She then offered to take it off our tab & walked away. She also informed us other patrons had liked the Jasmine tea. She seemed really angry that we brought the problem of the tea to their attention. For the rest of our dining time, no one approached us. We enjoyed the delicious food but put the tea aside. It wasn't replaced or fixed. It took a while to even get the check. Food is good. Interior design is good. Service needs major improvement.

Prepared foods are on a steam table or under hot lights. You pick a meal combo, and they serve it onto foam trays. Then they suggestive sell add-on's and drinks. The formula for success is simple: - tasty food, big portions, and affordable prices. People rave about this place on social media, so I have to come check it out. So it's Friday around dinner time. I'm cruising on Hesperian Blvd in the right lane. I pass the Valero station and realize.....this is where Asia Delight is! They have a dining area with 4-6 small square tables. But the tables looked dirty, and the whole place looked untidy. But the steam table counter looked beautiful. It was loaded with hot food and each tray seemed to be full. Two ladies and one young man were serving. The young man did a good job taking and serving orders. I decide to get the Combo B for $9.45. - fried rice/ chow mein + 2 entrees I got fried rice, black bean spare ribs, chicken w/ string beans in gravy. How was it? No flavor! I don't use the word "bland" very often. Geez, I didn't know there was a shortage of soy sauce, sesame oil and salt & pepper. Maybe chili oil will help. Would I come back? No thanks

I take all of my pictures with my phone, but I generally write my reviews on my laptop where I have a full keyboard to work with. The first two visits, my wife went in while I waited outside with the dog. This time, I was travelling solo. I had been out and about and decided to pick up some grub for dinner. Our first visit, we got some Chicken Wings and absolutely loved them. Our second visit, we got more Chicken Wings, but we couldn't remember which ones we had gotten the first time. We didn't enjoy them quite the same at the first time. To resolved the issue, this time I ordered two different types of Chicken Wings. Did we solve the problem? Maybe? Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (4) - While the wings were excellent, we felt that overall, the dish was too salty. Deep Fried Chicken Wings (5) - Once again, excellent wings. Without the add-on Salt, Peppers and Garlic, these were more to our liking, though some Garlic would have been nice. Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce - (5) - I grew up eating fresh fish from live tanks in Chinese Restaurants. They were either cooked with Black Bean Sauce or Ginger & Scallion. Post COVID, many restaurants have done away with their live tanks. Frozen fillets will never taste or feel like freshly dispatched fish, but these were pretty decent. Assorted Seafood Chow Fun (5) - Fish, Calamari and Shrimp. Used to be a time where you could expect a scallop or two, but those days are mostly gone. While this restaurant used to have dine-in service, it appears to be take-out only now. Service was relatively fast and efficient. The food is solid. We'll definitely be back.
