I've been meaning to write about this place for a while. Very unassuming and tucked away in a strip mall. Parking is decent. Had dinner here last night with a friend. Probably my fifth time here. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious. Hands down the BEST chicken tikka masala and Tandoori chicken anywhere I've been and I've tried them all in the valley. Actually everything we had was exceptional. Sag Paneer, garlic naan, byrani etc. More on the spicy side here which I love (but they will make it mild if u request. Very fresh!!!! Service was great too. I've tried the lunch buffet but prefer to order off the menu. I don't mind paying more and waiting a bit for fresh hot delicious food. One of my favorite desi cuisine spots around LA area. They have a huge variety of menu options, from authentic Pakistani food to even Mediterranean food now. Nihari, Karahi, Biryani, Naan.. all are excellent here! The only complain I have is the service quality, but I totally understand that it can be busy sometimes. And oh yes, there bihari kababs are amazing. Do try them if you love bihari kababs! read more

Food is always exceptional - service is always fantastic - the staff is great and will take the time to explain the dishes to you if you are not familiar with them. I've been here plenty times and I have never been disappointed. I used to think their tikka masala was bomb but in actuality it is nowhere authentic. Tastes pretty bland actually w very little spices & lots of yogurt. 2. It's extremely sad when a restaurant goes from amazing to below average and that has definitely become the case with Red Chili Grill. I moved to Northridge in March and I ordered from this restaurant several times and really enjoyed it. You can read my initial review on Yelp. However, one day I ordered my usual dish which was the Lamb Tikka Masala. The sauce tasted different and the meat was fatty. I said to myself "oh no, the quality can't go down hill, I like this place too much." So I tried it again and ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and sure enough the same thing happened, fatty chicken and the sauce wasn't as good as it used to be. So I took a break for a while and started eating at Village Tandoori which is about 5 minutes away. I ordered from them about 8 times within a 4 months period and each time it tasted great. As an added bonus they had bigger portions, and better sauce that wasn't as watered down. Even though I was happy with Village Tandoori, I felt lazy tonight and didn't want to drive the extra 5 minutes to go there so I caved in and ordered from Red Chili to give them another chance. Well, this is officially my last time ordering from them. The chicken was disgusting, worse than the last time. It tasted like the chicken was rolled in flour and then just thrown into the sauce. It tasted like eating chunky paste. It was almost like the chicken wasn't made for my meal and they decided to just throw it in hoping that I wouldn't notice the difference. The naan was over cooked and hard. The rice was the only thing that was ok but again it's basic rice. I came here trying to order a large amount of naan about 30 of them, and the owner tried to make more money off me, saying I can only order this amount if I purchase more things on the menu. Which it doesn't say anywhere on their menu, the guy then responded to say he was the owner and he can make his rules whenever he wants. Grabbed some dinner around 6pm today, there weren't that many customers dining in at the time, but we noticed a lot were ordering take l-out. The place started to fill up around 7pm. Only had one waiter at the time to take our orders, he was very friendly. Then a waitress brought our food, but she spoke little english, but she understood for the most part. Lol. This place is by far the GREATEST DESI CUISINE PLACE that I have ever been to! The food is second to none, and the restaurant interior is very.... how should I say it.... welcoming. I need to preface this by saying two things... 1. I have been craving Indian food for a loooong time. 2. I got this food to-go, so I only rating the food, not the dining experience as a whole. I called and placed my order, and showed up 15-20 minutes later. Chicken tikka masala, lamb biryano and garlic naan. I took my very heavy package home and set it on the counter to open it up. I was a bit worried as I did not get any heavy Indian spices wafting up to my nose prior to opening anything, but once I did....WOW. Bam! That was the smell I had been waiting for. Heaps of rice and lab for the biryani. Soft lamb, juicy, well seasoned. The rice, soft, warm fluffy and so full of those spices! My tikka masala was in a Styrofoam bowl, with a lid, wrapped in plastic, this stuff was like handing toxic chemicals (based on how they wrapped it....well done). Opening it up the smell was overwhelming, I almost fell over with joy as I had thought about this for sooo long. Diving in, slurping up the sauce, wonderfully aromatic, creamy, sooo yellow, soo vibrant, so fresh. The chicken, just coated and smeared, literally swimming in this bowl of masla was to die for. If I could eat it everyday, I would never complain. The naan was a good size, a whole piece maybe the size of a large manila envelope. Very warm, very soft, and so fresh some of the edges were a bit undercooked (but not doughy, if that makes sense). All in all. THIS was exactyl what I wanted for my Indian food craving. And that's the best praise I can give. Total price $26. Regarding the inside/decor. The guy working the register was really nice and polite. Two families were eating inside and both seemed to be of an ethnic background that made me feel like I had chosen the right place. Not an overly warm atmosphere, a large (50"?) plasma hung in a corner playing audibly, and all wooden tables and chairs. But its close enough that I don't need to eat there. read more

This place is a Pakistani restaurant for those wondering the cuisine. The website says they also serve Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean food but not anymore. I've been here for both lunch and dinner and love that they make the bbq items and burgers to order unlike cough cough Al Watan cough cough. A Karachi speciality that they have is the bun kebab, in which they use shami kebab style meat for the filling. Its just one of those things you have to try, Karachi Classics in San Francisco was the only other place I knew that made it to my knowledge. The BBQ items are also great, the boneless tikka, chicken leg, seekh kebab (beef and chicken), and lamb boti. The nihari they had was good as well, not my mom's cooking but I'll take it. Pass on the biryani though because you know any restaurant that has a dish like biryani everyday on their menu isn't cooking it fresh. The naan is also very good here, its not your traditional tandoor naan where you have the burnt spots here and there, they add sesame seeds and stuff to it : D. I hope in the future they have some specials that are only served on certain days how Noorani and Al Watan have Lamb Pilao on Fridays. HIT. THE. SPOT. This would be my 3rd time eating Indian food & ... I LOVED IT! I will definitely be back for more. Unfortunately, I'm not adventurous enough to try things I've never had so I stuck with the usual Lamb Tikka Masala with garlic naan. It wasn't on the cheaper side considering my total came out to about $15. I tried my friend's Chicken Tikka Masala, and I think I liked her flavoring better. Regardless, I enjoyed every bite of my order. We got a side of rice to share with 3 people, and it was A LOT of food. Although I'd like to say you'll have more than enough food with just the entree and naan, I recommend you get the side of rice and store it for later. The rice was addicting and absolutely delicious! For all you sriracha fanatics, add a drop (or way more) & it will be the best meal you've had in a while. The only complaint that I have is the slow service. We had a take out order, and they either forgot about our order or ... they're just really slow. I can't imagine how much slower it would have been if we sat down and ordered. Let me start by saying the food was overpriced for the portion size. The Chicken Tikka Masala was way more cream then tomato and the Naan was average. If those had been the only issues I wouldn't even have felt a need to leave a review. The real problem was with a dish we ordered called Chicken Biryani. Putting chicken that is still on the bone is normal for this dish apparently, but what can't be normal is being scared to chew my food because I would find olive pits and tiny bone fragments mixed into the rice and hidden until i felt them on my teeth. I wish I could give negative ratings just because of the attitude of the owner. STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE. We ordered a $120 tray of Chicken Biryani for a group of 20 people along with two other snacks. Food was collected around 2:00 PM PST. Came home and kept the food in the kitchen(Not in the refrigerator). And after finishing the snacks at 7:45 PM, we opened up our biryani. It was smelling bad and the taste is bad as well. This is for sure not the biryani that was prepared the same day. It is either the previous day biryani or may be even more older one. We called up the restaurant and have informed him about the food and about how it spoiled our party. If not a refund, we were expecting either a replacement for the food or at least an apology in the worst case. The guy on the telephone started arguing that there is no way that food can get spoiled. We have informed him that we have photos of the biryani thrown in the trash. He kept on arguing with a rude tone saying that we must have either kept the biryani in Car's trunk in hot sun or we must have been telling him lies. We did try to explain him that the food was kept in the kitchen and it is not so hot as well outside. He doesn't even care to listen. Wait, shouldn't be we be the one who should be pissed for ruining the party and giving us such kind of food? We had a pregnant women in the group. Imagine what would have happened to her if she had eaten that food. These people doesn't know how to run the business. Now to the main course the tikka masala hands down no flavor most watered down masala i have ever had, the masala was so runny and flavorless even the rice had more flavor so that's pretty bad; the chicken curry was OK, very chunky with not a lot of chicken but if you like potatoes there's plenty.
