I usually get steam fish with hot sauce and bean curd (which is tofu) this dish is quite spicy but so good in all level. The sauce is abundant and I can usually reuse the sauce and make another pot of veggie dish afterwards. Eggplant and green beans are the other dishes we order often. The bits of ground meat and chilis that define "mapo" were basically non-existent. The dan dan was sesame heavy and heat light (even after requesting it spicy). And the ginger and vinegar that defines "fish fragrant" were flavors missing from the eggplant. (I also had to call GrubHub to cancel the tip I placed upon ordering: their delivery person refused to knock or ring the bell, which I requested. My Taiwanese co-worker said the food was pretty good here so I went w/ another co-worker. We ordered the fish and tofu hot pot ($11.99 - 2 peppers on the menu for spiciness), and the chicken w/ garlic sauce ($9.99 - 1 pepper on the menu for spiciness). The fish and tofu was a big portion and deep red in color. The tilapia did not fall apart when served and the tofu was tasty too. Unfortunately, there was so much oil floating on top, it wasn't as healthy as we thought: 3 Stars. The chicken was also pretty tasty. It had dried mushrooms which gave it a little crunch. The portion was good sized and the chicken was fresh. However, similar to the fish, there was a lot of oil on the plate: 3 Stars. The ambiance was typical Chinese - nothing special. There were a lot of Chinese speaking clientele and quite a few take out clients: 3 Stars. The service was OK too. One of the staff came to check on us and I had to ask for more napkins: I was SMAO - Sweating My A$$ Off - LOL! Red Chilli is a good place to come if you want spicy food w/ good sized portions for the price. However, although Sichuan requires a little more oil so the peppers don't stick to the wok, they need to cut back on the oil a bit so it is not coagulating on the dishes. read more

It was our first time at the restaurant. We ordered the Yunnan house special rice noodle (soup) along with fried dumplings, Xiao long bao, and a green onion pancake. Everything was delicious. Portions were generous and split well between two people. You can tell that each item is cooked to order and made fresh. The menu had dozens of options for dumplings, soups, meat, rice and noodles that it will take many more visits to get a broad sampling. This review is long overdue. We've been coming here for about 5 years and it always has been the best schezuan food you could find anywhere. We actually stopped coming for about a year ,just because of the way life works out,nothing against the food. We ALWAYS get the same 3 things Dan Dan noodles which are amazing,deep fried chicken cubes which are also amazing....they use Chinese peppercorn and it just explodes in your mouth and veggie fried rice.... although we've tried other items on the menu like honey walnut shrimp,potstickers,steamed dumplings and wonton soup. Now the food is amazing and it always has been,the place changed ownership about 3 years ago and although it was already a great place,it just became better . What I want to focus on is the costumer service...now bare with me I hope i got his name right but our server William is the most attentive and nice guy . For the last 2 to 3 years we come in and he always has the biggest simile on his face and knows the table we like the best and what we drink and order. It's all about the pepper cumin fish. The fried fish is covered with many chili peppers, but if you dont eat the peppers directly it cuts down the heat to more manageable. Has a nice spice kick and the best fried fish I have ever had. Doesn't travel as well to go but still good. If you have time eat in and have it there is optimal because to go it gets a little soft and doesn't keep the perfect crunchiness. Red chili house is literally the best Chinese food in the entire inland empire area. Their pickled pepper Stirfried beef is always flavorful and tender, their chili fried chicken is literally the best I have ever tried, and the stir-fried potato with jalapeño is so simple yet delicious and I have never been able to recreate the same flavor. I also get the Stirfried noodles and ask them to add chilis sometimes and It's also delicious. I'm not quite too sure about this place, I have mixed feelings. I really enjoyed the Dan Dan noodles, and the rest of the food was ok. I also enjoyed the chili oil they make. I recommend the dan dan noodles as well as the spring rolls. I am not to sure I will be coming back. The portions are much too large. Went to Red Chilli House for lunch on Friday. I ordered the Chicken w/Garlic Sauce. At most there were 15 small, thin, slices of chicken in this huge mound of kelp! This is what I chose not to eat. Good thing the portion of rice was larger than most restaurants. When they came to clear my plate I was asked if I was done. I told her I was. She asked me if I didn't like it. Placed a phone order for the Kung Pao Chicken & Kung Pap Shrimp. They had the normal COVID setup when we got there. Table to block off entrance and window glass to protect employees. I got there, told the employee that I placed a phone order and he brought it out. Kung Pao Shrimp was average. I've had better for sure. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, but I'm not sure what they gave us. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't what we were looking for. But everyone here is very helpful and the menu is in English, you won't have any problems picking a great dish. Just make sure you specify Spicy or Non-Spicy.
