I knew very little about skateboards before we went and as we left, I felt like I had a custom introduction to skateboards lesson - what great service! Tom gave us details on all the options so we really felt like we made educated choices. After we picked out all the parts, he showed my son how to assemble it. Learning by doing - my son loved learning how to build his board. I felt the value for the price was very reasonable, especially since it was a white-glove service! I wasn't sure I'd made it to the right place since it looks like a residential house from the street, but I'm so glad we knocked on the door! Tom was GREAT. He's super knowledgeable and super supportive. I never felt like I was being upsold on any of the items. He was really invested in finding the right board for my kid and my budget. As a parent who doesn't know much about skateboarding, I was really emphasizing my son ignoring how the board looked, and instead focusing on how it felt. Tom really quietly took me aside and helped me understand that it was also important for my son to have a board that he likes the look of so he's confident on it at the skate parks. I really appreciated Tom doing this. He was super respectful AND made sure I had good information to help my kid. That's a hard balance to strike, and he did it perfectly. After building the board, Tom offered to teach my son the basics, and even invited him to come back that evening when some pro skateboarders would be coming by. Everyone was super chill and supportive. My kid learned how to get in and out of the bowl by himself, basic skate etiquette, and that evening really created an incredibly positive first experience with skateboarding that will last him a long time. Tom's whole demeanor is that of a long time teacher / mentor. He's easy to talk to (found out he took college level music classes from my mom back in the day!), he knows his stuff, and he's invested in the community. Only heard about Sports Basement for the first time a few months ago when a friend took me here for…read morea tandem bike rental! We booked the bike about a week in advance for a full day for $65, and it was ready for pickup when we arrived. The staff did a safety inspection and let us know that helmets are included with the rental and that we could return the bike to any Sports Basement location. My friend also asked if they could leave their backpack there, and the staff kept it behind the desk, which was really nice. The bike was in good condition! We rode it for 4-5 hours with no issues. A few things I wanted to point out - the seat was pretty narrow and hard, which made it uncomfortable to sit on. It had been a while since I last biked, so I'm not sure if I just need to wear padded shorts or if the seat wasn't the right fit for me. Another thing is that I couldn't sit in the front because the seat was too tall for me to comfortably reach the pedals, and there didn't seem to be an easy way to adjust the height. Lastly, it would've been nice to have a phone mount on the handlebar for navigation. We turned in the bike at the end of the day. Overall, the process was very smooth, the staff were friendly, and the rental was affordable. I would do it again, but I'd wear padded shorts next time :)

We went not completely sure which bike we wanted or the best fit. The staff working was very informative and spent a lot of time explaining options and tradeoffs. I appreciate they didn't just push us to the most expensive options. Rather, they took the time to understand his preferences and use for the bike and then made a few recommendations. They were very patient the entire time, letting him test ride multiple bikes until he found the perfect one. We had such a great experience that we went back to purchase a second bike later that evening!

We went in Sunday and were surprised to see all the lights off even thigh they were supposed to be open. We called to see what was happening and Bob left his restaurant and came to open just for our kid! The crazy thing is they were broken into the day before and so glad we could buy some things and help support. He helped us choose good beginner wheels and trucks and expertly helped us cut the grip tape. He even gave my son a mini lesson to get him started before skateboard camp. Interior is super nice with nice speakers and interior design. Thank you so much Circle A for a great experience and it was lovely talking to you.

It was smooth and delicious. It is more expensive than my vanilla latte that I usually get from Starbucks (pure convenience), but if money wasn't a factor I would definitely go here. I remember the days you could get a Jansport backpack for I think $20. It had a lifetime warranty and I would keep it for decades just sending it in for free work every so often. New zippers and shoulder straps and almost anything else with exception of changing the main fabric. The cost of a new backpack here made me do a double take.... and I like to have one of those around for travel or for even going to an auto wrecking yard so I can have my hands free for carrying parts. Great place for young kids - I'm a bit too old to care too much about stlye - but still fun to take a look around. I have to dig around in the workshop downstairs and find my old backpack. I know its down there somewhere.
