Pleasant shopping experience and good variety of skate stuff - but the prices seem a bit high for a backpack for example. I remember the days you could get a Jansport backpack for I think $20. It had a lifetime warranty and I would keep it for decades just sending it in for free work every so often. New zippers and shoulder straps and almost anything else with exception of changing the main fabric. The cost of a new backpack here made me do a double take.... and I like to have one of those around for travel or for even going to an auto wrecking yard so I can have my hands free for carrying parts. Great place for young kids - I'm a bit too old to care too much about stlye - but still fun to take a look around. I have to dig around in the workshop downstairs and find my old backpack. Came in on a weekday afternoon. My little brother wanted a santa cruz hoodie & some shirts. We walk in and there's 3-4 guys behind the counter just talking it up. We were there for about 30 seconds and finally one of them welcomed us in. My brother immediately tried on the hoodie to find his size. He got it. So I held it for him and we started walking around. One of the guys then asked if we were looking for anything specific, we said no. He then informed us about a sale they had going on with items on the floor & how all shirts in the back on the rack were BOGO. Which was insane! They had a-lot of cookies. So he picked a few shirts out. We go to pay. The dude made sure we got our sale items for sale price. He even neatly folded the sweater & shirts like they were his own (with care) and bagged them. Seriously don't go here if you don't want terrible customer service. I bought a pair of shoes from them that I have never worn because I got a similar pair that looks better online for a cheaper price. The shoes were $87, and I refused to wear them because of all the money that would go to waste. Fast-forward 1 week and there I am in mainland trying to return the unused and unworn pair of shoes, also try keeping in mind I made it within the 30-day return policy. The girl at the register did not even greet me and the first thing she says is, "Wow you want to return those? If you want me to hate you..." I laugh, then smirk, and say, "Well I need to return these because they were a lot of money and I got the same pair online for a better price." What she does next is appalling: She starts claiming the shoe smells really weird, that there are skid marks on the bottom of the shoe (THAT WERE NOT BY ME, CLEAN YOUR OWN PRODUCTS BEFORE SELLING THEM), that the laces are still laced up (UNLACE IT YOURSELF), and more ridiculous attempts at trying to keep me from returning the shoe. But the shoes in fact are exactly how the store gave the pair to me. Will never return here, and I don't think anyone else should ever unless they want a chance of getting cheated for their money. read more

Haven't been to Stoneridge in what seems like forever. Upon entering this place caught my only because I see a HUGE TOMS sign in the window. I love TOMS, so I had to go in. We were greeted by a guy in the front, he dropped us his name if we had any questions or anything. Just like previous posts, other employees where just too busy chit chatting. One star for the greeter! The store has a lot of different brands, TOMS, Stussy, Obey, all my favs! Diamond supply Crooks & Castles they even got Jordans. I remember seeing the Flints even being over priced. Mainland sorta reminds me of a Zumiez. The TOMs Selection was nice they were all hanging so we don't have to bug employees to go back and look for a size, I was a little disappointed in the kids TOMS tho, unlike Nordstroms they didn't have many colors nor selection for the kids. :( read more

Good place to get your urban gear and skateboard gear. If you are looking for a skateboard or longboard they have a good selection to choose from in comparison to zumiez. They've also got a huge selection of Dakine backpacks as well. The place just feels a bit cramped, especially when you are looking for clothes, it's almost impossible to find what you are looking for, the staff could be more helpful too as supposed to chatting away with co-workers! read more

When I found out that "Connetic" was connected to this store, it was a pleasant surprise. With Awesome & unique clothing, plenty of size selection (unlike other "skater stores" in malls), & a vibe that's anything but "in your face" this store hits all the pleasure centers of a shopaholic. Came in here really quick looking for a shirt. My son and my wife was with me but wasnt around me. My son was crying and I was trying to pay as soon as possible but there was no cashier to be found. I waited few minutes and someone finally came to ring me out. As soon as she started scanning my shirt Kimberle the cashier mumbles under her breath. "that damn kid won't stop crying." The service here was rude from the start and the manager, Jin, was the greeter from the start. We were trying to return something and she treated us as though the return was coming from her paycheck. After giving us the runaround she said she was not going to return the item. We asked for her corporate number to contact for help and she had the nerve to give an extension to someone below her in the company. After going thru the system above that person, Ryan was pretty cool but not helpful. We also found out that the owner of the store is part of the problem in this location, not offering any assistance with our problem. pretty f'n worthless and not interested in people shopping here again. Looking for the one sale and never again. If i had to shop at this store would definitely take the drive to the san jose location. They are friendly and look to help you with all your needs. Bottom line avoid this chain as to the fact that they are not return friendly and you can find the same product elsewhere for cheaper and not all sales final without stating that to customers upon purchase! Went shopping at the Stoneridge Mall during Labor Day weekend. My boyfriend and I checked out the store. The gal at the front greeting the customers coming in did her job and smiled, and multitasked with folding clothes. Probably the first and only employee who said hello with a smile the whole time shopping at that mall. We went to the counter to purchase a Quiksilver buttoned up shirt. The young guy behind the counter (Mike) was not friendly. Didn't ask us how we were, if we found everything alright, or even say 'thank you.' To top it off, he threw my boyfriend's change on the counter for my boyfriend to pick up. Then he went on to discuss whatever majorly important topic he had going on with his coworker. Aww. Okay, there is a guy that works there that is just so creepy. I went in to go buy Toms but the guy kept making me try to buy things. Then he targeted my mom. So we left because he made us very uncomfortable. I came back a few weeks later hoping he wasn't there, and he wasn't. I bought a pair of flip flops that I've heard great things about. I won't say the brand because this is not a review of the flip-flops, but of the store itself. When I got home I tried on the flip-flops and they immediately felt weird to me. My right foot seemed to be forced off the side. The left foot felt fine. I thought maybe they'd improve if I tried to break them in. No matter what I did, I could not fix it. I tried stretching the leather band, submerging them in water and then stretching them. Nothing worked. I took them back into the store the next day and spoke to the manager. I explained the situation to him and after hearing me out, he agreed to let me pick out a flip-flop from a different brand and do an exchange. I found one for a few dollars more and I was happy to pay the difference. In my opinion, that is excellent customer service. If a customer is truly not happy with a product you sell, then do what you can to make them happy and they will return in the future. Thank you, I'm happy with my new flip-flops! read more

Worst customer service ever! First of all, this is the first review I've ever made on Yelp and I felt this is definitely worthy of a review! People need to know! I used to shop here all the time, it was one of my favorite stores. One time I bought a pair of pants there and all the ink dye came out in the wash and they were all spotted. Brought them back, they wouldn't refund me. Talked to corporate like they suggested, they were no help. There goes $75. This is when I should have stopped shopping here. Kept shopping there and needed to make another return later on down the road. Went back to make the return, store in Pleasanton mall was closed for remodeling so I couldn't return. When I went back to return again after hearing they were open, the employee was very rude and abruptly told me that it had been over 30 days and I couldn't make the return. He said there was nothing he could do when I further questioned, and told me (rudely) with a big attitude that I should have known the policy if I've had trouble returning before. WOW! I packed up my stuff and left. And I'll never return. There goes another $75. No point in even wasting my time writing a letter to management again because it's clearly useless! They didn't even respond ever the first time with the ink pants! These guys are a joke, I'll stick to Macy's and Nordstroms. Mainland is a store for kids with a very immature and rude sales staff. for this area, mainland is probably one of the best places to shop for urban wear. though i can get most of the gear here online and for much cheaper, it's still a good place to find some threads. it's for both men and woman, boys and girls. i usually come out with a shirt from here every time i go. they used to sell SB dunks but for some reason stopped. now all they have left of the SB dunks are the rare ones in a glass case next to the shoes. (been eying those bisons for a long time!!). the guys in the back are always cool and the females here are friendly as well. overall it's a great store but again a bit on the pricey end. LRG shirts will cost you $25. most places online you can find them for $20. they have a location in modesto, CA too and it's all the same, owned by the same person. you may or may not come out with something but it's worth checking out. read more

I have always loved this store, until now! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. And it was by a manager. I didn't get the name, but he is an older Asian guy. I had bought a shirt for my boyfriend and when he had tried it on to go out the same day noticed it had 3 dots on the back that seemed like it had been worn or something. GO back the next day and he gives me attitude and inspect it for what felt like an hour. He made me feel like a bad person! He refused to return it because had accuse me of wearing it. If i could give zero stars I would. I don't know if I've ever experienced such poor customer service ever. Reading other reviews that seems to be the trend. I purchased a pair of sunglasses for my husbands birthday less than a month ago, I was hesitant to buy them because I knew they werent his usual style, but the girl who was very helpful assured me that I could just return them within 30 days. Surprise surprise, he didn't like them, so after he opened the gift I put them up on a shelf and left them there untouched until I would have the time to go back and return them since the closest to me is 40 minutes away. I walked up to the front and the guy didnt even acknowledge me, fine whatever i can deal with that, so i said Hi i have a return i'd like to make. His coworker hands him a pair of shoes and he begins to ring the shoes up for a customer who wasn't even at the register yet, while i was just standing there. After the transaction he decided to help me. I told him how they just werent my husbands style and that i wanted to return them. He started accusing me that they were worn and that i had moved stickers on them? Being so ridiculous that he was showing me right next to the sticker (which was still on and never moved) on the side there was residue, so he swears that means they were worn. Are you serious? how many people try these on every week, whats to say that from constantly being handled that sticker hasnt shifted the MILLIMETER of space that residue was. It was back and forth for like 15 minutes and i swear he held them up to the light like 200 times, I think he was trying to find even the smallest tiny scratch to blame on me so that he could say I couldnt return them. But he couldn't find anything FUNNY because we DID NOT WEAR THEM. Then finally says " Well I guess I'll have to trust your word on this". Sadly I would have totally shopped there again, the girl who helped me pick the glasses out was so helpful and greeted me from the beginning and seriously tried on glasses with me for 20 minutes.
