I had eaten at the Red Devil on 32nd Street and Mcdowell in Phoenix and the food was good and the staff was very friendly. However, their Pinetop location was a different story. I ordered a medium Red Devil Combo to go. When I arrived to pick up my pizza I was informed that it would be $5.00 more then what their menu stated. I asked to speak with the manager and he said "when you change an item on a combo then we charge you the per item price". I responded that no one ever told me that I could not substitute green chilies for green bell pepper without an extra charge. The manager said "that's too bad, we can't tell you everything when you order by phone". I was visibly upset so the cashier that took my order offered to give me my 5 dollars out of her own pay. I said I didn't want her to have to pay for it out of her own money. The manager still did nothing! He could have given me the price of the combo this time and told me that next time I would have to pay the "per item price". That would have been fine but instead he did nothing. The pizza was not worth the $25 I was charged and I definitely will not be going back to this location!!!!! read more

Red Devil Restaurant and Bar is a great place to eat in Pinetop, AZ. The menu is full of pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, calzones, and salads. I think Red Devil is also *the* hangout for Pinetop residents and visitors on a Saturday night. The place was packed and there was a line out the door. However, our wait was only about 10 minutes and the hostess apologized for the inconvenience. (Coming from Phoenix/Austin/Houston, a 10 minute wait is nothing.) I split a 10" Red Devil White pizza with added basil with my friend. The 10" is perfect for 2 people. (Possibly too small for three people and too big for one person.) We probably could have added a appetizer or a side salad or a dessert, but I guess I can try out a new combination next time. I think the thing that makes Red Devil a 4 star restaurant rather than a 3.5 star or a 3 star is the kind service. My friend had a bit of indigestion durning our wait and when we were seated, he asked the server for a ginger ale. Red Devil does not serve ginger ale and she thought Sprit would be too sweet, so she brought him a glass of tonic water with lemons and limes. He began to feel better by the time the pizza came out. What a wonderful server! I know a few other reviews commented about slow service. I know there are some down nights. When we went (7/30/11), the service was fast and friendly. Shocking to see some bad reviews, because that was not my experience at all. I've been here twice so far. First time was only because the Pasta House next door was closed. I wasn't too excited to try this place out, but I am so glad I did! I had the meatballs and spaghetti and it was delicious. The bread they put out is too die for. My favorite part was the garden salad. I love it, the ranch is homemade and so yummy and it's quite the serving. By the time you get your entree, your full from bread and salad! Great atmosphere and great customer service. Definitely my go-to place! read more

The food was good but the service mediocre. We never got our glasses refilled with water but anyone with a purchased beverage was always full. Only the waiter can cash you out so we waited 10 min. for that, our table had already been cleared. People were allowed to congregate in the entry while waiting for a table which meant they were crowding the tables near the entry- no social distancing. The young men setting the tables and cleaning the used menus never washed their hands between the two. read more

I want to give a big shout out to the amazing employees at Red Devil. We were a party of 6 that came in for dinner on Sunday December 18, 2022. From beginning to end we were very happy. We walked in to a smiling and friendly staff and were greeted with multiple hellos which was very inviting. We were seated promptly and attended to quickly. We asked a red headed girl at the front how the pizza and lasagna were. She said that they were amazing, her grandma gets the lasagna every time (extra points for making us feel a personal touch involving family!). So we ordered them and she was not wrong! Some of the best we have had when coming up to the mountain! Not only were the food, atmosphere and customer service for us amazing to have a great night but we also got to experience the hardship these employees go through with nasty customers. We watched 2 women 1 with a black bun the other with a blonde ponytail come in and be very rude getting a to go order. We happen to be perfectly centered and in ear shot to watch the situation and hear how rude they were to the hostesses. Not only were they barking demands but talking over the poor girls trying to help them and being increasingly rude by the moment. As the hostesses kindly and patiently got things organized these 2 grown women continued, while standing to the side, being rude making snide comments towards the girls at the hostess station for no reason. The girls at the front handled it very well and continued to act very professional and courteous. The red dreaded hostess brought their food out for them and I think everyone in the restaurant were relieved these women were finally leaving. But alas, this was not the end. They proceeded to look through every bag and container making comments about concern of the food being tampered. As if anyone would waste their time or energy on these women who were clearly out for trouble from the beginning and as my husband stated "probably seeking a way to obtain a free meal". The women put their bags back together and were walking out the door and a blonde at the front sweetly told them to "Have a nice night"... I was thinking don't slip on your butts as you deserve lol. But unfortunately this wasn't the end of these complicated women... they then turned back from the door and ASKED FOR A MANAGER! For absolutely no reason except someone being kind! The manager a smaller gentleman with glasses came out and they quietly made whatever complaint or lie they could summon. The manager said he'd talk to whoever, but in my opinion for no reason, I would have just asked these customers to go harass another business in the future. But finally these women left so the rest of us including the employees could continue our great nights. I will state that every employee was amazing and professional. I don't make many reviews but this business, staff and the food deserve an abundance of max stars. I hope this business keeps up the great work and I want to tell them don't let the freeloading Karen's of the world get you down! Thank you for your excellence Red Devil restaurant and staff. Take out was hot, fast and delicious. Ordered pasta, eggplant & sausage/peppers. Yum! Went back 2 days later for dine in. SO crowded (Sun at 530p)! The wait area was jammed. Masks not mandated. Had been here before and everything was great, came back again and were treated very poorly. Ordered Sangria and the glasses were less than half full, no ice. We questioned it, and ask for ice. We got tired of waiting for the ice so we used the ice from our water glasses. The waiter came over and made this big presentation with another glass showing us hicks that he gave us the proper amount. I tried to tell him we just wanted the ice. He was not listening. So we up and left. Red Devil please tell your people that Sangria is served over ice. At least that is how it is done is Spain. read more

For six years my wife and I have dined at Red Devil, Pinetop and we've received overwhelmingly great service; however, on September 30th our service was far less than expected. Upon siting down, the server took our drink order and didn't return with our beverages for ten minutes and then proceeded to take our dinner order. My wife ordered the lasagna, and I ordered a 14" thin crust pizza with Canadian Bacon and Kalamata Olives. The Pizza came out with Green Olives. When I mentioned the order was wrong, she instructed me that green olives were Kalamata olives - nope! I had to take the time to explain the difference between green olives, black olives, and kalamata olives and she just give a blank stare before responding to me, "I never heard of kalamata olives and I'm new to Red Devil" She should have asked a restaurant or kitchen manager before making assumptions. This is SO disappointing. The pizza had to redone and my dinner was delayed 20 minutes and with that my wife and I didn't enjoy our dinner together. When we dine out our expectation is that we eat our meals at the same time. I can appreciate a new employee learning the ropes of servicing; however, the follow went wrong during our experience. Our drinks took ten minutes to arrive at the table. The server was not familiar with the pizza toppings offered or she would have known what a kalamata olive was Based on the redo taking 20 minutes to arrive at the table, there was no attempt to "rush" the order Yes, she did apologize, but she needed to comp the pizza or offer something for a return visit. No attempt was made at all. Yes, comp something since the reason for dining out was that we all eat together! My wife finished her meal before my redone pizza was delivered to the table. I understand things happen, but she made no attempt to right the siutation. We paid full price for a sub par experience. read more

I haven't been to a Red Devil in years, mostly because there isn't one close to our home, but we were meeting friends for dinner in Pinetop and we jointly decided on Red Devil due to their menu. I got the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and it was outstanding. The noodles were fresh and cooked to perfection. The alfredo sauce and the chicken was just as yummy. Our waitress was very personable and provided excellent table service. The others in my group gave favorable reviews on their dinner selection. This visit will probably entice me to drive the 15 miles to my nearest Red Devil in the Phoenix area. read more

We had lunch here after hitting all the little antique shops before the COVID-19 social distancing came into affect. The pizza here is some of the best you can get, the crust is hand tossed and perfect for eating with your hands. Not too thick, not too thin. The bar area is nice to grab some cocktails and the margaritas here are actually very good. I thought the service was good considering our waiter was dealing with a colleague that called in sick so he was very busy. I think the best part about it though is the variety of options to get. If you don't feel like pizza there's a lot of other good Italian dishes on the menu and are all prepared fresh. read more

We love this restaurant. We don't get to eat there as often as we'd like because we live at the other end of town. And now we won't be eating here at all anymore. It's not just the food that makes a restaurant successful, it's the atmosphere. The customer service. And when you over hear 2 servers trash talking you at the bar, It's a deal breaker. The last time we visited we got horrible service too (for my daughters birthday no less) all because we stayed 15 minutes after they closed. And Michael (one of the trash talking servers) if you read this, which I hope you do, YES I am a server. I'm also a bartender and FOH manager in my restaurant. And I gladly stay for my customers. I visited Red Devil in Pinetop. The staff was wonderful! We were seating promptly and received timely food service. Large servings sizes. We got the Trio and the chicken piccata, both exquisite. Red Devil in Pinetop has always been a favorite spot to dine with family and friends as we spend 5 months in the area each summer. However, when we came for the first time this season a few days ago, we we very surprised and disappointed to see that none of the staff were wearing masks. At a minimum, wait staff should be masked out of courtesy and safe regard for patrons. The food and service were excellent, but this disregard for basic COVID-19 precautions is a deal-breaker. Sadly, we won't be back until and unless this policy changes. read more
