Order the cowboy burger with a side of onion rings, guys great stop after hiking in Bryce Canyon! Super cute interior with great views of the Red Canyon, and such a friendly staff! It's family-run and full of such tasty options.

Went there for breakfast around 10:15am as they said online and over the phone that they were open for breakfast from 7-11am. We got there and were told to order from the counter. So we ordered and began waiting. A few minutes later someone came out of the kitchen and shouted, "The diner is closed!" When I asked the staff at the counter I was told breakfast was for take-out only and that the dining room was closed. If there had been signs in the restaurant, info on the website, or if we had been told sooner we would've found a different restaurant to eat at. On top of that they included a 20% gratuity on the bill. For 4 people, we spent more than $85. But we ended up having to take our food and drive back to our hotel and eat inside our room. When we got back to our hotel, most of our food was burnt.

We stopped here after hiking in Bryce and the food was incredible! We ordered the cowboy burger and cowboy corn and they were both delicious.

We loved the food at the Red Dirt. Beef nachos were loaded with ground beef. The pastrami burger and bison burger were absolutely fantastic. Service was excellent and food came out quickly.

We arrived about 6 and waited about 20 minutes for a very nice booth. We split a pretty good-sized house salad. It was fine. I had the trout with asparagus and sweet potato fries. Fish (lemon pepper and salt) was tasty and perfectly prepared. Asparagus was also perfectly cooked, still a bit of crunch. The fries were too limp but tasted good. My hubs ordered the ribeye. Looked so juicy and charred but was a bit tough. Flavor was great and it was a gigantic 16-oz. portion. Coffee was tasteless, unfortunately. The absolute highlight of the meal was the pie! The apple pie is the best I have ever eaten. The filling contained nice slices of apples, no mushy stuff here. And the crust was incredibly flaky with a bit of sugar baked on top. My husband ordered the cherry pie à la mode and was quite pleased with the pie and two little scoops of ice cream alongside. Nice staff too! This place is popular for a reason. It HAS to be that incredible pie.

Good portion but the beef was so overcooked, it was hard eat. I got a side of broccoli that ended up being the best part of the meal. No refills on coffee or hot water for tea. The benches were hard wood and not the most comfortable and the women's bathroom smelled like urine. We did run into somebody who said their chicken sandwich was excellent so maybe we just got the wrong thing. Not a great experience for us.

We had to put our name on wait list, it took 40 mins. Then the next 2 times we were seated right away. Wait staff were friendly, professional and kind. First night we had rib eye steak, we shared. It was excellent! Husband had cowboy chicken, he loved it. He also had the burger for lunch but it was over cooked, dry. Our friend said the same thing, it was over cooked. They said flavor was good. The beautiful Center Street patio was completely empty, with probs 10 seats just sitting there basking in the sun, not a single soul (or paw) in sight. Perfect, right? Wrong. We were bluntly informed that this pristine, deserted patio was reserved exclusively for customers with pets. Never mind the zero dogs actually present. Inside? A luxurious 20-minute wait for a small table in a crowded room. We gently noted the glaring lack of any actual pets enjoying this "exclusive" area, but rules are rules, apparently. No dog, no patio. I did consider claiming my girlfriend occasionally identifies as a furry to game the system, but I decided against it. Instead, I simply let the hostess know their brilliant policy had successfully driven away two more paying customers. Mission accomplished!

The service is genuinely good, with staff who keep things moving and make you feel taken care of without any fuss. But the real standout is the pie. Truly some of the best anywhere; flaky crust, rich fillings, and the kind of "ho-made" taste that makes you consider ordering a second slice to go. A great starting point for your park day and absolutely worth a visit for the pie alone.

Since we were staying in the attached hotel, we figured we would try a slice! When we checked into the hotel in the afternoon, we wanted in and saw a bunch of fresh pies in the display case in the front, but we decided to hold off until after dinner. When we returned, they were all gone! Luckily we talked with the waitress and she told us that they still had plenty in the back. They also fresh bake pies every morning to be ready by 7AM opening. Chocolate Cream Pie Slice ($4.99) - That's one hefty slice of pie! It's at least half a pound of pure sugar. The topping is stabilized whipped cream while the base is a really chocolatey super thick custardy, probably cornstarch-thickened, pudding, more like jello than pot de crème. The pie crust seems a little wan, not that heavily baked given the lighter color. It's a harder crisp with a good amount of flakiness and is probably shortening based. Yet the crust still stays crunchy even with the onslaught of pudding above. As a whole the slice is ridiculously heavy and rich, super filling after dinner. I can't vouch for anything else on their menu, but Thunderbird Restaurant certainly serves some good pies! It's reasonably priced and is served in a huge portion. There's not much else I could ask for. Bathrooms - Outside in the hotel lobby
