$5 Mules during Happy Hour! Blood orange, please...

Five stars? Really? But it's just sort of a neighborhood joint, right? Wrong. Red Door actually IS a neighborhood spot for us, 'cuz we're spoiled like that in the 'burbs, but Red Door delivers us a top-shelf dining/cocktail experience every visit. Whether it's just an appetizer to be shared, with the obligatory cocktail or two, or full-on supper, Red Door has their game on lock. Our most recent visit, made with a reservation (plan ahead!), had us having dinner at a bar high-top. The seasonal cocktails, some featuring J Rieger spirits, are always rotating and never disappoint. The Red Kingdom (Rieger vodka, apricot liqueur, & cherry soda) is refreshing and balanced, and their margaritas always slap. If only they had a Rolo-dex of their previous seasonal cocktails because my wife is a sucker for a pear martini she has enjoyed here once or twice. Maybe there's a catalog, but we'll check next visit. I had a hankering for something homestyle, so the Big Gary's Meatloaf was just my jam. Two slices atop fabulous mashies, brown gravy, with a side of sautéed veggies, and I was beyond happy. Side note: I don't do Brussel sprouts, because my mom BOILED them when I was a kid and that mental stinkery has never left my brain. But Matthew talked me into trying them, and hey, when sautéed with some olive oil & spices, them sprouts were delicious. Match those sprouts with carrots & fresh green beans and that made the plate sing. Here I am conquering food fears! If you want for a salad, then just know that the 'full' size is a ginormous portion. Even a Caesar, with a protein like grilled chicken added, makes for a dish that is sure to satisfy. We love the Wedge, too, not because we even remotely enjoy iceberg lettuce but because you could cover leather in bleu cheese & bacon crumbles and we'd smash it (and we have to share one). You can make reservations online (thru Toast) or take your chances on a popular JoCo spot during busy hours. In good weather, the west-facing patio, replete with screens, is a wonderful spot overlooking the fountain. Pricing is on par with the market, and it's kid-friendly, especially on $5 Burger Mondays! Comfy space, attentive staff, and darn good food & drinks await you.

Amazing service and delicious food. Great patio vibes. I come here solo all the time and it's incredible!

Went there for KC Restaurant Week 2026. Food was great. Service was good--we sat across from the bar and the bar was busy, so I get it. Started out crazy busy with a 25 min wait for a table, but available spaces at the bar; not too bad given the Sunday afternoon crowd. I ordered all three courses for lunch with the additional dessert costing extra, as was the mimosa--Blackberry Lemonade; so good I'd consider it a go-to drink if I felt like splurging. Course 1: Brussels sprouts salad without capers--it was tasty. Course 2: Salmon BLT--it was yummy, but questioned whether the bacon jam was present--don't get me wrong, there was bacon and it may have been jammy, but it looked like mushed bacon bits--probably the jam part "melted" into the salmon? Anyway, it was good. That sourdough toasted bread was outstanding! Fries were crisp and delicious. Course 3: I got the dark chocolate mousse to go. [later that same day...] The mousse was silky and chocolatey and the homemade whipped cream made for a delectable combination.

Food was NOT good enough to take pics

Slow, slow service, slow cook time, slow check time! We were beyond disappointed with this visit! One kiddos burger was not cooked to well done as ordered and we had to wait so long for a party of 5's food. One of the five had calamari appetizer as their meal and it wasn't even cooked all the way through. Our server tried to accuse us of wanting to dine and dash because the last one of us five was standing trying to wait for the bill! Never again. Tonight was awful!

    Sunrise mimosa-don't recommend

Went for KC Restaurant Week and sat in the bar area which was nice, the atmosphere fits me, and it was a nice change from the mezzanine where I'm usually at. Service wasn't anything to rave about. One server acted like he was bothered to be there while the young lady was nice but seemed to be in a hurry. Food was good and I do thank them for accommodating my gluten allergy but will never get it with the "lettuce wrap" again. We did get a good laugh out of seeing the salmon sitting between 2 thick wedges of iceberg lettuce. 100% recommend the chocolate mousse!

I came here on a Thursday (fried chicken night) and it was packed! I got the Honey Chicken sandwich and it was pretty good! The side of honey mustard I requested really took it up a level. I really enjoy Red Door's sweet potato fries as well.

Had incredible date afternoon with my wife at Red Door. Big plus they are a dog friendly patio. Our golden retriever loved it. Alexander brought him a water dish. Then the food was delicious. Mocktails also. Just a great experience for our first outing with our puppy. We will be back for sure. Alexander was a great server!! Keep it up Red Door

Pretty good experience no complaints. The anchors were good but wish they had more sauce and meat factor otherwise they were kind of dry. The beignets were healing and I appreciate the waitress for prepping them. Cool atmosphere overall!

This spot is owned by the same team behind Kate's Kitchen up north--which I've always found fantastic--and I'm happy to report this location is on that same elite wavelength. The Experience: The atmosphere is clean and impressively airy, making for a great morning vibe. Both the hostess and server were exceptionally engaging, even providing a personal water pitcher for the table--a small touch that makes a huge difference. The Food: Chicken Fried Chicken: This is the real deal. It was clearly prepared fresh, not frozen, which is a rarity these days. The Sides: The home potatoes were perfectly crispy, and the gravy was thick, peppery, and hit all the right notes. The Biscuit: This "super-sized" biscuit was essentially the icing on the cake. The Eggs: I ordered my eggs poached soft. They arrived a bit too soft (runny yolk was the goal, but these were just under), though in fairness, that's likely on me for the specific request! Verdict: If you want a breakfast that feels home-cooked with high-quality ingredients and attentive service, this is the place. I'll definitely be back for their famous French toast and medium poached eggs .

We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

They absolutely have the processes of this little restaurant honed to perfection, and even during a busy lunch time kept things humming so that there was minimal wait time (to order, for the food to be brought out, and to pay for our meal). Many, MANY thanks to Robert, who seated us, took our order, brought our food out, and settled our bill. He was friendly, efficient, and so welcoming. It was a joy to watch him work; he made sure to greet each and every customer coming in the door, and was consistently so upbeat and positive. And many, MANY thanks to Tony at the grill! Our food was FANTASTIC!! I have high standards for Mediterranean food, and the falafel wrap was totally delicious! The falafel itself was perfectly cooked, with a crispy outer layer, and the other ingredients in the wrap were chosen for a perfect melding of flavors. I had the side salad, with homemade Thai peanut dressing, and it was equally tasty. My husband had the patty melt, which came on homemade bread (!) and was, per his report, perfectly done. His side was tater tots, and we shared them. They were crisp and light without being greasy, and addictively yummy! The restaurant is in a strip center; it's not very big, but the tables are well placed so that no one feels cramped. The open reception area and kitchen/grill make it easy for the staff to respond to what's happening in the dining room (e.g., new folks arriving). It was a truly memorable meal, and we'll definitely be back! Again, MANY thanks to Robert and Tony for such a great lunch. We appreciate you!
