I waited 15 minutes for a drink at the bar. I observed 2 people getting served that arrived after me. Also waitstaff slips that came up (3) of the after I arrived. I know everyone is short staffed but 15 minutes and not even an acknowledgment that I was there is not acceptable. An acknowledgment would have been nice. Had better burgers at other places in the area and could have gotten a pizza anywhere else if i wanted one. Dont call it a flatbread on your menu if its a whole pizza. This is a great restaurant. It has a lot of variety. There is something for everyone. Our server, Ryan, was very attentive and made sure that my husband and I were happy with our meals. Prices are reasonable. Also, great selection of drinks. Ryan went to find out from the bartender what is the sweetest wine that they have. The name of the wine is Chatead Ste Michelle Rose. Came into town visiting for the first time. Tried out the Red Fox Bar & Grill. The atmosphere was comfortable, and service was fantastic. The cocktails were made quickly and were fantastic. Would give zero stars if i could. Terrible customer service. They messes up almost everything possible and then tried blaming us when we had no control over what went wrong. Then the manager Josh did everything possible to put the blame on us and walk away from the situation without apology. We had to almost bully him into fixing our checks because we were charged for things we didnt even receive. They closed at 9 and we didnt even receive our food until 945 because they kept messing everything up and the manager tried putting blame on the waitress because it was her first day and she did everything right. Went here for an Easter lunch and we both had the prime rib. It was excellent. Today we were looking to celebrate Mothers Day and decided to go back and have the prime rib again. Big mistake. We both ordered the prime rib and both meals were barely edible. Gristle running thru both cuts made it difficult to not only cut but to chew. I was unable to eat 1/2 of mine due to the amount of gristle (and this was my second piece as my first serving couldn't be cut and was sent back). I am giving it 3 stars as our first visit was 5 stars and this was a 1. If we do return (which is doubtful), we will stick with sandwiches or pizza. read more

We travel several times a year to the area and sometimes just a day trip to eat here. Over the last 10 years I've never had anything less than a great meal and great service. My only complaint in the past is the lobster mac and cheese isnt a 365 day menu item. Well today we made the 250 miler round trip just to have dinner here. To my joy the lobster mac and cheese was on the menu. Not sure if they changed the recipe or just because I haven't had it in a while but it was beyond delicious. Best I've ever had. read more

We loved Red Fox! Everything we ate we loved. The potato skins were amazing. My husband had the meatloaf, he was scared because he loves meatloaf but has never been able to go to a restaurant that actually makes it well. He definitely loved the meatloaf at Red Fox. I had the red Fox burger it and was juicy and well cooked. The service was great. The wait was 25 minutes which is not too bad but you can make reservations and you'll be good. I went here on a date back in July and the food was delicious. I got their dinner special which was a NY strip steak I believe, and it was so tender and juicy. I have never stopped at this place because it always looks super-crowded. But last weekend, all the stars lined up and I found myself in need of food after a short hike. My friend was staying nearby and so we opted for an early dinner at the Red Fox. I can see why it is always so crowded. We had a terrific time. First, we enjoyed some warm bread and a glass of wine. Why do I always forget to take photos of these things? My friend got the pear salad with shrimp and I ordered the chicken rigatoni in vodka sauce. I have never had vodka sauce before because my kid told me it tastes like the sauce from Spaghetti-Os. Since he is now living in San Diego, I tried to put the image of "Uh-oh, Spaghetti-Os" out of my mind. Was I glad I did! The chicken was tender and melted in my mouth. The sauce was tasty, even if it was the color of the you know what. The pasta was robust and filling. Little green peas rounded out the dish. It was awesome! Our waiter was efficient and friendly. I want to go back to try other things on their menu, but it will really depend on the time of day and the density of the crowds. read more

Stumbled upon the lovely Red fox Bar & Grille in Jackson, NH after going tubing in a snow storm. The host graciously placed us at a table by the opulent woodstoked fireplace without knowing where we had come from but could just tell we were chilled to the bone. It was this small observation and kindness that started our experience at the Red fox off to a phenomenal start. We were greeted by the amazing Suzette, our waitress, who was attentive, funny, kind, and a true delight. The. Food. Was. Incredible. Hands down the best meal I've had in quite some time. I had the salmon with brussel sprouts, and mashed carrots & turnips. Everything was made to perfection. High quality home made food with great variety for everyone in the family. I also suggest the clam chowder, short rib grilled cheese, steak tips, and spinach dip. And don't forget the wine and spirits! For dessert we went to the Red Fox bakery and grabbed some cannolis and eclairs which were delicious - the cannoli cream was divine (of note, baked goods including the house bread is made right there on the spot). You can tell there is a lot of pride and dedication that goes into this restaurant. The combination of the ambiance, wonderful staff and incredible food make this place a destination restaurant you cannot miss! We will be coming back here for our annual ski trip next year for sure! read more

I was in Jefferson and decided to try this place out as it had higher reviews than others in the area. It was a big disappointment. Service was great. Food was not. The kids grilled chicken meal was absolutely fake chicken from Perdue pouch at the grocery store. The pasta with chicken I got was not good. Pasta was soggy, flavors all over the place... the chicken was OK in mine. I got a signature margarita which was also gross. Too much Cointreau not enough tequila. We got on the wait list early (50-75 min wait) before we went to know what time to arrive. Reasonable priced, good food! Service by Sandy was awesome! We had the bowl of clam chowder and shared it with 4 people...that big, yes! The Brussels sprouts were nice and crispy. Then pair and fig grilled cheese. Of all the times I've used Yelp I've never written a review. I have no reason other than I don't normally praise when I probably should have nor commented on negatives when I experienced dissatisfaction. That said... I was at the Red Fox last night and ordered the combo plate with steak tips, shrimp skewers with a $6 add on charge for baby back ribs to share with my cousin who also wanted to try them. For sides, I paid $3 each for asparagus and brussel sprouts. While everyone in our party of 8 seemed to enjoy their food, the portion size (with the exception of the brussel sprouts) of the combo plates (which my cousin also got) was below average. The four shrimp was ok and to be expected however only two tips and about 6 thin asparagus left more to be desired for $37. Our waitress, while very friendly, let plates pile up and was somewhat inattentive when refilling waters throughout the meal. If not for the price and avg service, I'd give a 4 but, IMO, those are big factors. read more

On Thursday, 8/19/21, I reached out via the message option on the restaurants website about making a reservation for 12 people for yesterday, Thursday 8/27/2021 to celebrate my husband's birthday. I got a response from Denver stating that they DO NOT take reservations in between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM and the only options during those hours is call ahead seating. He stated the latest reservation they could make to ensure my large group a table would be 4:45 PM. I took the reservation because the last time I called ahead it was one hour and forty minute wait and I wanted to make sure we would have a table. We wanted to have a nice, unrushed, relaxing celebration. We (6 of us) arrived at 4:40 PM and we were escorted to our table. I would like to add our waitress was very nice and lovely and the food itself is consistently very good. We ordered some cocktails, salads and appetizers. At approximately 5:00 PM, another couple joined and did the same, and then approximately 5:15 PM another couple joined and did the same. There were waiting on two people, another couple, to arrive from our party. They arrived at approximately 5:30 PM. I would like it noted we are all locals and were coming from the Berlin/Gorham area. Right away, when our last guests arrived we ordered our meals. Our meals arrived approximately 20 minutes later with one of our guests unserved. We had to go find the waitress to let her know one of our meals was missing. At this time it's approximately 6:00 PM. Before the last guest is served, the hostess comes over to speak with us. She says that she requests that we be 'considerate' and not take too long to eat because there is a reservation scheduled for 6:45 PM. Uumm, wait, what? How can there be a reservation scheduled a 6:45 PM when it was very clearly told to me in writing via email that they do not accept reservations during the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM. This was the whole reason to call a full week ahead for my reservation, to not be rushed and to ensure we have a table. I asked her about this and she said, "Well it was a call ahead seating and we scheduled you for two hours." Well first of all, not my problem, I reserved the table a whole week prior, it's my table not the call ahead persons. Secondly, the restaurant as a whole hadn't even served our whole tables' food at this time. So how can we be considerate of the next 'reservation' when we all didn't even have our food yet? Pretty brazen. This is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. As a former business (a boutique) owner I would never and could never imagine doing anything like this to a paying customer. As a former banquet Captain at the Mount Washington Hotel, I am certain I would be fired or at least reprimanded if I did this to a guest. We ordered dessert, and even after letting the waitress know when we were seated and Denver know when I made the reservation that it was my husband's birthday, they couldn't even stick a candle in his cheesecake for us to sing to him. They did nothing. I would also like to add, that collectively our tables' checks probably came to about $800. Is this not enough money from one table for you to let us enjoy our meal and not feel rushed and that we are being kicked out??? How much is the amount where you will treat a table, your paying customers, with dignity, courtesy and respect?? It is also common practice, that a table has two hours from the time they served their meals to vacate a restaurant. I have heard great things about your restaurant from other locals, this is why we chose to drive 45 minutes to spend our hard earned money at your establishment. I do also realize you make the majority of your sales on tourists and travelers and you could probably care less about us. But I just really hope you address this, it's a problem and it's not okay. Just keep in mind the locals that are regulars and frequently visit you, their money matters too because you can count on us and its consistent. It would be a shame to be known by the community that they will be treated this way if the visit you. read more
