Wednesday night celebrating our 48th year Wedding Anniversary tonight. Started with deep fried Calimari with Marinara Sauce. Followed by the Steak & Lobster Tail. Food was excellent. It's been years since I last ate at a Red Lobster because the quality declined significantly after the chain was sold by Darden Co., so I figured today was a good time to check it out again. It started very well , I had a very nice server with whom I enjoyed conversing about her career choices in law enforcement or the legal world (it was a very slow night in the place). I enjoyed the shrimp cocktail appetizer and, of course, the biscuits. I ordered the broiled flounder and fried flounder, then the reason for just two stars back then. Now, years later I've come back to Red Lobster to see if it's better since it has changed ownership again from the Thai Union seafood company that bought it from Darden and ran it into bankruptcy. It has since closed many locations, more than 270, and recently planned to close more. On the most recent 4 visits to the Chambersburg PA location I was pleased with the remaining (somewhat limited) menu choices left to choose from. Gone is the lobster bisque, broiled flounder although they have a stuffed flounder that's broiled, and other past favorites. With only 1 soup to choose from (New England clam chowder) I ordered it. It came out with a boatload of butter on top. Inedible. I asked for biscuits and was told they ran out. This was around 5 pm on a Tuesday! The broccoli was also oiled up. Great, I'll take the healthy broccoli then keep my mouth shut when the cook adds a ton of butter or oil to it, because why? Does it really taste bad without the heart attack causing grease? The restaurant is always freezing cold because of the air conditioning setting below 70 degrees. Not someplace most people could be comfortable eating casually in. The general manager seems to be accommodating so that's good but while she can control the "ice box," she has little power over the menu. Although she could likely control the excessive butter in the soup and ensure biscuits are available and the cooks don't screw up the veggies. I half recommend this establishment but not as a first, second or third choice. read more

We waited for at least 5 minutes before anyone asked if anyone was helping us then after being seated waiting another 10 minutes before being asked if we wanted something to drink. My husband ordered a Cabernet. they brought out a reistling and said that it's the same. showed server the menu and that it was different type of wine. The server did get the correct wine. I ordered salmon. to say it was burnt was an understatement. I can't believe that it was served. I refused it as it was inedible. they took it back everyone was finished eating when I got the replacement. it was perfectly cooked but had none of the garlic butter on it. Gave this place two chances. Endless shrimp, sat for 30 minutes waiting for first round of food and even to see my server. This time.. I find out I'm the only table... now I then find out the server is going through some tough times so after sitting for 23 minutes with the raw steak (ordered medium) grab another waitress... get manager... manager is amazing !!! Has been both times! But I go to give this server a tip and she chucks it like f me!!! Will not be returning. We had a hunger for seafood & there aren't a lot of choices in Chsmbersburg, so we came here, even though we're not fans of chain restaurants. I had the rock lobster tail & it was good. In the end, though, my husband made the better choice because he ordered an entree that included a small lobster tail but also three kinds of shrimp--fried & sautéed & grilled. I got tired of eating just the lobster while he enjoyed the variety. There's another detail I need to mention. We had dinner here Saturday night. I sat at the bar where the bartender repeatedly referred to me as his "Bro" and his "Main man" and "Dude" but whatever. He was at least attentive and that was good. He also brought me fresh biscuits to take with me at the end of my meal. I had the seafood stuffed mushrooms to start and these were the highlight of the meal. Well stuffed and not too much breading, they were super hot and very tasty. I'd have these again. Caesar salad was inedible due to being buried under way too much cheese and then drowned in dressing. The croutons were good though. Main course, I chose the shrimp feast. The alfredo was nice and creamy, very well filled with shrimp. The butterflied and fried shrimp were also good, nice and crunchy. I opted to skip the shrimp scampi as there was no garlic. It was simply a half dozen shrimp in a bowl of hot butter. That was a waste. The green beans were overdone and mushy with no crunch or snap to them. It's a chain and it's likely the same here as anywhere else. To start it off, on a very slow Thursday evening (the place was nearly empty), we stood at the front desk for over 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. Undeniably the worst meal I've had at Red Lobster in over 30 years, and I've eaten at RLs all over the country. The garlic shrimp scampi tasted like mud; the shrimp in the shrimp alfredo still had their tails (ever try and pull the tail on a shrimp covered in alfredo sauce). The french fries were soggy, limp pieces of undercooked potatoes. The cheddar bay biscuits and our Caesar salads were the highlights of the meal. Our server didn't bother to come back to the table until we were nearly finished. If you are looking for an undignified, poorly prepared and served, low-class meal and a no-class restaurant, the RL in Chambersburg is the perfect place. I don't go to a lot of chain restaurants but Red Lobster always seems to do a good job. I will say if you are on a diet this is not the place to eat as most of the entrees are well over half your recommended daily caloric intake but who can resist cheddar biscuits. Seriously if you don't like them you are dead inside and need to stop following my reviews. The restaurant was modern and clean and the staff was very friendly and prompt. The food came out quickly. All the seafood was clearly fresh not frozen. The presentation could have been better. The lobster and shrimp were both very tasty. The salmon was well cooked but the brown butter sauce was undetectable. A squeeze of lemon and some salt and pepper fixed that. Overall a very nice dinner. Super friendly, very personable, and quick with refills and to make sure we had everything we needed. First of all, let me say this review was based on my second trip more than my first trip. The first trip, my waitress was spaced out and forgot our table so much that the two other waitresses were popping by to try to take care of us when they would notice us turning into mercats trying to spot our waitress, who got our order wrong then never brought us our drinks so the manager brought out our drinks AFTER some of the food arrived. Second trip, we were greeted right away upon entering, then lead to a table. Our waiter- a very nice guy who was an excellent waiter- took our orders and promptly brought our drinks/etc. to the table. We both ordered a steak meal (mine without shrimp, my companion's with shrimp), and our steaks were reversed so she had the Well Done and I was given the Medium Rare- so we switched them at the table, not a big deal. However, she ordered a baked potato & steamed broccoli, the steamed broccoli came out as if it had been quickly microwaved and the baked potato never arrived through our whole meal. Tables around us got theirs before & after our food arrived. I ordered double-rice, unaware they had changed the rice. When the food first arrived, I was a little disappointed that the rice looked different till I saw the quinoa in it, then I got excited as I really like quinoa! Then I tasted it. The manager came out, after our waiter had to come tell us for the 5th time, "The baked potato is coming", then noticed I wasn't eating my rice. The manager straight off told me, "Well this new rice is dry, so a lot of people are complaining about it since quinoa is dry." I held up a bite with my fork, allowing the water to drip from it. Personally, I don't think they cooked it all the way (I'm terrible at cooking rice, so I know first-hand what undercooked & overcooked rice is like). She tried to offer me a baked potato, & we pointed out that we had gone through the WHOLE MEAL waiting for my companion's baked potato so I had no faith we'd get it. It was so bad, I had a coupon for a free dessert, and I didn't use it. By the time we had waited and given up on the baked potato for my companion, then listened to the manager's litany of excuses (seriously, just say "Sorry, there was a screw up.", don't give me 50 reasons why there really isn't anything wrong), we were already going to be late for a meeting we were heading to. So we got our bill (the manager gave us our drinks free, for the inconvenience, when we couldn't eat our sides? Weird.), quickly paid in case with a tip, and then headed out quickly to avoid being any more late than we already were going to be. I was sad about it being like that, as I had not been to a Red Lobster in a couple years. The one where I used to live had so many healthcode violations that my family/friends all quit going there. Thus, when I spotted this one while driving to a nearby shop, I had been very excited. When my first experience wasn't great, I chalked it up to the time/night I was there being a fairly bad time to hit up a restaurant & thought I would definitely give them a second chance because the food had been so good on the first trip. read more

I enjoy Red Lobster, but be very careful getting food delivered via a delivery service. Red Lobster doesn't properly fulfill the order and you aren't there to check and hold them accountable. We ordered a "Family Feast" to feed 4-6. We were to get 12 biscuits, we got 6. We were to get 3 selections for main meals, we got 2. We were to get two sides (4 baked potatoes for one side, mashed potatoes for 4 for the other). We received one baked potato. One scoop of mashed potatoes. A side of fries we didn't order. No butter or sour cream though all was to be included. The lobster bisque soup was excellent as always. The shrimp alfredo was okay if pretty dry. Not enough sides for the family at all. Very disappointing for the high cost. I just expect to receive what I order. Deliver service made things right but it is the restaurant that ruined the meal. Eating in here is usually a good experience. I get crab legs and soup normally. Never unhappy. I don't think their infrastructure is in place to properly manage take out and delivery/partner orders. read more

Our family celebrated our father's dinner here on May 29th, 2019. We were so happy that we selected Red Lobster!! The food was wonderful with large portions and served hot. Nick was one of the best servers that I have seen in any restaurants that I have been in lately. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu when it came to our questions, and very accommodating when substitutions were requested. He came back several times to check on us, refill drinks, and refill the delicious cheese biscuits. We had brought a birthday cake and he even offered to cut it for us, but we just asked for a knife, which he promptly produced. He really made our celebration of dad's 85th birthday a memorable one. Use to go to this Red Lobster fairly regularly and were very happy with the service, cleanliness, and quality of the food. In fact, previously gave a 5 star rating here. The last few times we visited all of these addressed areas were lacking. This afternoon we stopped for an early dinner, asked to set at the bar but, were told "no, because we have no bar tender" so, we left and we down the street to another restaurant and sat at their bar to eat. Not sure what changed at this Red Lobster; maybe mis-management or just no caring management at all but, very disappointed and not sure if we will ever return to this restaurant again. read more

Went to Red Lobster on 9/30 around 5pm wiht my wife and 6 month old son. The Hostess sat us in the back by the kitchen which was ok with us because we had a high chair and did not want to disrupt the other diners. About 10 minutes later we did not have a server and my wife went to the servers just standing there and tole them that we thought we got forgotten. Well, that got the Manager's attention in a hurry. Apparently, our server (Cody) was also the guy that took to-go orders and was not informed that he had a table. He did his best to make up for what happened and so did his manager. His manager brought our food to us and made sure everything was ok and our server did the same. Something broke down in communication and our poor server got the raw end of it. Dined with my husband...his choice and its certainly not a gluten-free friendly restaurant. Instead of providing familiar icons to easily recognize the gluten free options, they provide a large black 3-ring binder. You then have to cross reference your selection against pages of food choices to determine if your choice is gluten free. Needless to say, I alerted the family for no more gift cards to Red Lobster. I've seen restaurants with a much less modest menu and environment do a much better job of identifying food that's safe for many of us to eat. read more

I have never had a worse experience and a worse meal in my life. I have never even given a restaurant below 5 stars. We had to wait almost an hour and were told we would be contacted by phone when ready and were never contacted so we had to wait outside until eventually we walked back in to check. We were then told we were "forgot about" and then we were seated. After the waiter took our order we waited forever for our food to come out even though there were only 1/3 of the seats full. We ordered the chicken tacos and lobster roll. The chicken tacos were heavily overpriced based off their quality and were not good. In addition, instead of cutting up the chicken in game in one big slab. My girlfriend then had to spend minutes cutting up the chicken for a taco?? I'd recommend going down the street to Montezumas if you want tacos. The lobster roll then had lobster sitting on top of the closed bun so all of it fell out when picked up. Truly an awful dining experience and I would recommend going to another restaurant. Hopefully it was just an off night and not a normal occurrence, but I'm lead to believe it was not. read more
