I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants to start with. But it's where my mother wanted to go for her birthday, so off we went. For a Tuesday night at 6:30, this place was straight dead. Ghost towns are busier than this! Since I don't come here often, I have no idea if this is the normal for a Tuesday evening, or if they are just that terrible. The smell of fish grabbed me by the throat and gagged me just by walking in the door. Since I absolutely hate pretty much all seafood, this was a turn off. For someone who doesn't eat fish, the menu is incredibly limited. There's two kinds of steak and a pasta with Cajun chicken. That was literally the extent of my choices. Megan greeted us at the door, seated us and brought our menus. She clearly knew the menu, and asked if we had questions. My mother wanted to know about shrimp, and I wanted the non-seafood page. She found both quickly and we were set. Lindsey was our server. She was great as well. She knew the menu as well and was helpful. She got all three of our orders correct, was very nice and checked on is at the right intervals. I do love the fact that at the end of the meal the waitress brings a tray and gloves and boxes your meal up for you. I think all restaurants should do this. The food is ok. Not spectacular, just ok. I was impressed my steak was cooked perfectly. There's nothing worse than overdone steak. My mother and husband had some sort of platter thing filled with all kinds of deep fried fish. Mom was annoyed they didn't have beer batter. The clam chowder was ok. Cups are ridiculously overpriced, and substituting it instead of a salad seems a bit overpriced as well. So for three people and no alcohol, I paid $75 for a pile of deep fried fish and a steak which was moderate in taste, but with excellent service. Will I return? Probably not anytime in the foreseeable future. I was impressed by the service, but meh on the food. I really wish they had a better selection for people who don't eat fish. If they did, I might be a bit more willing to come back sooner. read more

I took my girlfriend out to a birthday dinner on Wednesday the 31st of May. We both got the steak, lobster, and baked potato special. She said her dinner was "fine." However my medium rare steak was well done and my baked potato was burned. The prepackaged garlic butter was excellent with the plain lobster tail. I have been to many different Red Lobsters, so the bar is kind of high when it comes to comparisons between what a Red Lobster should and shouldn't be. Let me tell you, this Red Lobster (#6366) is everything a Red Lobster should not be. The only thing this Red Lobster had on par with others is the wait, but with Red Lobster I have come to expect the wait to have good seafood. So, after an hour wait, we finally arrived at our seat. There were four of us. We ordered 2 Doctor Peppers, 1 Cherry Pepsi and 1 Pepsi with 3 glasses of water. When they arrived and placed in front of each member of my party, the server titled each drink. After a guessing game of who got what, as none of received what we had ordered. We finally realized there was only 1 glass of water. Funny thing about that water, it had ice and the outside of the glass was cold, but the water itself was warm. Kind of makes you think they didn't check the faucet after having the hot water on, either way makes your mind wonder why hot water was in a glass of ice water. Now to the food. After an hour and a half wait, we finally received out 3 entrée plates. Mind you, after two and a half hours of waiting for our food, the Mc Donald's outside the window looked very appealing, especially after seeing the food. The Lobster was over cooked and disgusting. What should have been an 8oz lobster tail had shrank down to half that size and became hard and rubbery. The Shrimp over peppered, over cooked, and only two on the skewer (would expect at least 4 as it was the main item on the dish). The side order of Mashed Potatoes could have been used to set a cast on a broken leg. I have never seen a Red Lobster use mashed potatoes from the box, until now. This bowl had to be stabbed with the spoon and then a fight occurred to reacquire the spoon, the plaster didn't want to give it up and even lifted the bowl off the table when lifting the spoon. These mashed potatoes could have been used to drywall but shouldn't have been served for consumption. More than ¾ of each plate was left behind. If I could give zero stars I would. I have worked in the food industry and have always prided myself and being a big tipper, even if services are on par, but this evening was the first time I have never tipped. If I had it in me I would of dine and dashed, minus the dine part, left the check of $121.42 behind Needless to say, taking my son and his future wife out to dinner in celebration of their first child, was everything but a celebration dinner. We came here to celebrate a couple birthdays and a job promotion got lobster artichoke dip calamari and stuffed mushrooms win win win. I asked the hostess if there was a booth available, seeing one opposite our table~ she said no, so we sat. Sat and waited... and waited... I then decided to speak up. Asked to speak with a manager, and he promptly had us relocated to a booth, and we were attended to promptly. Our server arrived next, and was very efficient. The FOOD was absolutely gross. Lobster tasted like a rubbery shoe and fries were SOAKED in oil. Stay as far away from here as you can, this place has went downhill. Atmosphere in here is just draining and they even seated a couple with kids in the bar section. Wow. I was extremely disappointed with Red Lobster. I had never been there before last night and I can tell you that I have zero desire to ever go there again. A group of 8 of us went in yesterday at dinnertime. The parking lot was packed, but weirdly enough, it wasn't busy inside. We were quickly seated and asked by our server (Jake) if we wanted anything to drink. Jake's service wasn't too bad. He checked on us several times and brought out what we needed. We did have to get his attention a few times but it is just kind of loud in the restaurant naturally for some reason so it made it difficult for him to hear us. Looking at the menu -- well, there are very slim pickings. The menu is about 18 pages. 4 of them are alcoholic beverages that don't show any prices (I hate places that do that). 8 more pages are food items that are not available during dinner (like lunch specials or daily specials that only run Monday-Thursday). So there are very few actual food options to choose from. The prices aren't astronomical when you consider that lobster, shrimp, and crab are the main choices. However, if I am going to spend $20+ for a food item, it had better knock my socks off. My socks stayed firmly against my feet while at Red Lobster. I decided on a $7 bowl of clam chowder. I spent my entire time eating it trying to determine if they used the Progressive can of regular New England clam chowder, or the "heart healthy" can of Progressive clam chowder. Because that's what it was. It was essentially potato soup with a few clams. The clams that were in there were either over/under cooked. They didn't have much flavor and what little they had was not good. I tried salt and pepper, but there was no saving the chowder. Others got shrimp platters that were less than awe-inspiring. All are served with broccoli for some reason. That's probably my families' least favorite vegetable and that's the option every dish comes from. The rice pilaf was overcooked and lacked any flavor. Fish and chips were generic and could be picked up from anywhere else for the same quality and half the price. Essentially, the food selection was extremely poor and the food taste wasn't any better. On the plus side, the biscuits served before dinner were pretty good (sadly, better than most of the $20+ dishes we were served). The tartar sauce was also surprisingly good. I tried a bit of it and thought was a step above most I have tasted before. The bottom line is the service was fine. Our waiter Jake did what he could, but how can you help overpriced food that just isn't any good? How can you help a menu that offers more choices for lunch and alcohol than dinner? Answer: you can't. For the extraordinary prices we paid for very sub-par food, I cannot ever see going back. read more

The food was good but I felt like I wasn't given the best quality because it was a to-go order that I wouldn't see until I got home. Maybe it's because I didn't tip, but I ordered on-line. Nobody greeted me, refilled my drinks, bussed my table or walked my order out to me. Why do i feel guilted into tipping before I know what the quality of my order is gonna be like? I did like Red Lobster when I went there but the Fish & Chips wasn't quite as good as I expected it to be. You see, maybe I'm not being fair to them or something because I'm comparing this Red Lobster to the one that I went to in Kelso, Wa. a few weeks ago. There the Fish & Chips was, out of this world, Wonderful. In fact it was, hands down, the best I have ever had. The fish was very fresh and flaky and delicious and the Fish & Chips at the Red Lobster here in Eugene, no so much. The restaurant was nice and clean with an inviting atmosphere, the waiter was extremely helpful, super polite and the whole experience at Red Lobster made me want to come back again... well, like I said, the Fish & Chips, not so much. The fish here was mushy and just didn't seem as fresh as what I had in Kelso. I am looking forward to going back to the Red Lobster here in Eugene but maybe I'll spring for their Salmon or Halibut or Crab or maybe even the Lobster (which I'm not a huge fan of) but I'm open to try it again. read more

We've been trying to have a night out for a while now. After a few hours of pool and drinks we wondered over to Red Lobster. Apparently the rush is mainly from 5:30pm to about 8:30pm. We got here around 9:30 and were seated right away. During the rush you can expect a wait of 30 minutes. They don't do reservations, and they wont allow you to call ahead and put your name on the list. First person, first serve. I have to admit, I was tanked. I couldn't quite remember what I ate until the next day when I found the receipt. My wife and I both had the special which was Grilled Lobster and Shrimp with mashed potatoes and cheddar biscuits. Now, it's true...I was hammered, yet I remember eating my food and thinking, wow! This isn't rubber like the last time we ate at a Red Lobster. The cheddar biscuits were awesome, the taters weren't all that bad either. Perhaps it was the whisky that allowed the food to be a touch more palatable, but none the less....it was enjoyed. My wife remembers a lot more than I do, and she loved dinner. She wants to go back in a few weeks in fact. It was $19.99 for the dinners, making a $40.00 bill in total. I did not need help, at 40+ I am experienced in the way of crab cracking. I was stunned into silence and my husband's chin plunked against the table top. Never have I experienced such audacity by waitstaff. The other problems: Dirty seats, a deep fried label in our calamari, under cooked broccoli, and a perpetually empty water glass. We went here last night because the endless shrimp was available again. For $17.99 you get your choice of 5 different types of shrimp, side salad and a choice of an additional side. YUMMY!! Don was our server and he was fantastic. Not only witty and funny but also kept the shrimp coming without us having to ask much for them. The strawberry lemonade was great. The Parmesan Peppercorn Shrimp -- YUMMY -- definitely a 4 at least in my book. Garlic Siracha (we didn't get the siracha sauce on it) was also yummy.. basically garlic grilled shrimp - 4 at least Hand battered shrimp -- classic battered shrimp... yummy 4 as well Scampi -- AWESOME -- 5... Never tried the alfredo... Mom got the coconut shrimp and they were also awesome. This place is expensive -- it is SEAFOOD... BUT with this endless shrimp I think I may have eaten the full $18 worth! My experience here was decent, if not good, if not great. I was surprised that I liked the Red Lobster so much. I like the biscuits. I tend to like shrimp and I ordered one of the seasonal specials. I've always been hesitant of going to Red Lobster because it's a commercial restaurant and it doesn't have that genuine feel to it. Despite that, I got over it and found that the food was pretty darn good. Probably better than most smaller joints in town that prize themselves on organic, sustainable, local, etc etc. The service was good, but the wait time sucked! If you're patient and don't mind waiting to get seated then waiting some more for your food, then this is the place for you. I have eaten at this Red Lobster serval times and found the food and service satisfactory. However, the last time my wife and I had lunch, found a server from the bar to be loud and obnoxious. Although in our 70's, I don't appreciate being treated as if we were incompetent. the lobster was tasteless, dry and stringy. Not even the butter helped. I came to this location for my friends 75th birthday. 2 days prior to that night she had been in the hospital for heart issues. Her pace maker wasn't working correctly and the days following have been hard for her to not only stand on her feet but get up and move in general. We had no reservation and the wait was about 45 to an hour understandably so. We went to the bar section to wait for our table for 6.the bar area had multiple open seating yet only 2 tables could be severed in the bar section. We sat to wait at one of the 8 open booths and were told we could not sit. After explaining the situation to a lady name Kassey.. She had no remorse for the physical disability of my 75year old friend. Stated that she was the manager and rules are rules. So my first question is... What happened to common curiosity and customer service? When your put in the position to run an establishment that's supposed to have great hospitality you do so.. AND SHE DID NOT. Which makes me question who the hell is she Supprotivor? Are you paying enough attention or just collecting the pay checks? You both should be fired! I love red lobster. It was my first job as a kid. I sill love it. Cheddar bay biscuits are always great. I have a few items I get usually that are my favorites. Salmon New Orleans, shrimp pasta, loaded baked potato, I got a seafood potato recently that was also great. It's nothing gourmet but it's been consistently good for 15 years. The chocolate wave is my favorite dessert there. The calamari veggies appetizer is another favorite. Shrimp scampi is perfect for endless shrimp. Anytime we've had an issue a manager was quick to rectify it. read more

I arrive at about 7:30 to the red lobster only to be seating at the bar as I was waiting for my food. Normally not a issue but I sat at the bar until 8:21 then when the waiter finally brings my food out I looked at the ticket on the bag and it says it was printed at 7:51, why was I there waiting for food you had never even made? I arrived at the Valley River Center location to an almost empty restaurant despite being full on lunch time last sunday. Clear skies and warm weather. I left the local Sizzler restaurant because it was packed. I wanted to try the Endless Shrimp promotion, but was surprised it was $27 and did not include a drink, but just one side. I got the baked potato, and the tea was $3.99. The potato was barely luke warm. I did not eat the biscuits as they were under done and gummy. It took over 15 minutes before the first plates of shrimp arrived. The best was Dragon style which had a nice crispy exterior and slightly spicy sauce coating. The rest were disappointing in their lack of flavor. Breaded coconut shrimp, Howards Favorite, Popcorn style and skewered had absolutely no shrimp flavor. The tiny Scampi tasted a little garlicky and the shrimp linguini was a blob of goo. My waiter was very loud and faked his hospitality by talking way too much. You could tell by the toughness of the shrimp that they had a lot of preservatives. I think I will stick to Sizzler in the future. read more

Our server was very kind and attentive without looming over us either. We tried the lobster artichoke dip to begin with, which I would pass on next time. My husband and I were in Eugene for our Anniversary so we decided to eat at Red Lobster we went before the dinner rush so it wasn't very busy. This was a huge disappointment from the start. Our waiter took forever to do anything. He only had 3 or 4 tables with 2 people at them took forever to get our waters and our order taken.He was to busy bullshitting with the table next to us about the Duck Game. He said like 4 times he would bring us biscuits but didn't until I had to ask someone else walking by. We ordered our meals and ate our salads and he left the dirty salad plates on out table for our while meal. We had the on the edge of the table and they were empty. My cajun chicken pasta was luke warm and my chicken looked like a dog chewed it up and they put it on my plate. I did not look like chicken I had big chunks and little chunks. Hubby upgraded his baked potato and it came out with just butter and cheese no bacon our sour cream like it was supposed to. Asked for more biscuits with our meal and never got them. Our server Trent was to busy bullshitting still about the duck score. Took us forever to get our check and no one ever asked how our meal was. Had dinner this weekend with my 12 year old daughter (who loves sea food) including desert. $90+ dollars. It's a little special for what we had, but I cannot lie.
