The NEW Red Lobster - I will admit I am not a fan of Red Lobster. Seafood is very hard to find in Fort Wayne. If I want good seafood in the Fort...I will make the investment to go to one of the more renowned seafood restaurants. However, I had a gift card...and they have a new gig going...right? The facility is still the same. Large, comfortable and can process a lot of people. There was plenty of servers and our waitress Donna did a great job serving our party of two amongst the large parties she had. The place is clean and still decorated nicely. The cheddar bay biscuits are still the claim to fame. Warm, moist, slightly cheesy and crisp. Love the buttery-garlic and bay seasoning taste! You can easily eat a bunch of these! My side salad was very nice. Decent size with fresh lettuce and toppings. There were two generous portions of two different types of cheese. Croutons were crispy and the tomatoes were a nice touch to accent the salad. The honey mustard and items just make this a tasty salad. My wife really liked her grilled shrimp over rice. Everything was cooked to her taste. The rice was moist and seasoned nicely. She thought the hush puppies were the best she every had. They had a nice sweet core. The inside was soft while the outside had a slight crisp. Not too oily. Not over the top on corn meal taste. My shrimp Alfredo dish was not as good. The noodles were very soft - actually mushy. There was plenty of shrimp. Though it didn't have any seasoning to give it taste. Not grilled or blackened - just plain. The Alfredo sauce was best described as "soup". It was moderately thin and "soupy". It didn't stick to the noodles like a classic Alfredo dish at an Italian restaurant. The sauce was very mild in cheese taste - again disappointing. I tried pouring on extra Parmesan cheese and pepper to bring it closer to an Italian dish. Not much success. The NEW Red Lobster did have a much more streamlined menu. A lot of your favorite entrees are gone. There were a lot of dishes under $22 per entree. Prior...it seamed like everything was $30 or more. They have seafood boils which are popular in the seafood world. I was surprised that the cocktail list did not have prices. read more

Meh... We were given a gift certificate to Red Lobster so I figured that I'd knock out a quick review... Boy oh boy has Red Lobster gone down hill over the years. I remember the days when a family of 5 could go for less than $100 (including the tip). Fast forward to today and it cost $95 w/ tip for two people (no appetizers and no drinks)... No wonder the place has torpedoed like Joe Biden tanking the US economy. $95 for frozen seafood is downright ridiculous and the very definition of "customer price gouging." While the food itself was ok (of course, the cheddar bay biscuits were still the best thing served), I can't come to grips with paying this kind of $ for frozen seafood. Couple this with the restaurant being older, rundown, and had a weird smell (a mix between fish and dog food), Red Lobster has completely lost its luster IMO - Needless to say, will not be back. Absolutely the worst service we have ever had! Sat for 25 minutes before going to the hosted to get someone to take our drink orders and another 55 minutes for our meal. The service was really good. The waitress checked on us pretty quick and was glad cause all the apps were cold. My Coconut shrimp were hot. My Husbands Crab legs and Lobster tail were hot enough that they were not tough n chewy. The Lobster Mac n cheese he said were good after heating them up with the Brussel Sprouts...they were the scorched blackened kind with I believed had balsamic vinegar on them. They of course were sent back with mashed tato, Mac n cheese, n French fries. Yeah, pretty much almost everything. Loved their biscuits. Last Sunday evening my sons invited me to dinner here. It was quite the experience. There was a noticeable smell, and clearly it wasn't food. It was almost as if the carpets hadn't been cleaned. I was told bar seating wasn't available, although I could clearly see patrons there. My dinner companions chose the regular menu items, I requested the lobster queso. What I received was the lobster flat bread. I never complained, I tried a piece and left the rest on the table. Obviously, my sever placed the order wrong. Adding my complaint wouldn't fix what they had going wrong. My sons didn't enjoy their meals either. We waited 25 minutes for our server to return to pay the check. I told my sons, you all can do what you want, what you can't do is invite me back here again. I've told them before, but this time it's set in stone. I see why the corporation is in trouble. Yikes! The quality of the food at Red Lobster is abysmal. Neither my husband nor myself had visited a Red Lobster in decades, and decided to pop in for dinner. Seated quickly, server took our orders in a timely manner, biscuits were perfect. The positive ends there. I ordered the Surf & Turf; the steak was over salted and extremely tough (ordered medium rare, even), and the lobster tail was rubbery and flavorless. Zero attempt to stuff the meat back into the tail for a proper presentation. Had to ask for one of my sides that didn't arrive with my meal. Husband ordered the snow crab legs, and the meat was stringy and next to impossible to remove from the legs. He couldn't even get enough of a bite to dip into the butter. I didn't make it through half of anything I ordered, and definitely didn't take any of it home. Fully disappointing. Now I know why we haven't been in so long, and why we won't be back. read more

My waitress was great. That's all I can say that's good. There was a lady wiping chair down right beside where I was seated. While I appreciate cleanliness, don't seat diners where it's being done...manager fail. The biscuits were more greasy than buttery or tasty, the Ceasars salad was , while cold, soaked in dressing and flavorless. Went here to try the endless shrimp. I have to say for $25 it wasn't worth it. It comes with one side and three choices of shrimp to start off with. Good portions too and when you get your first plate start ordering more cause it takes awhile for the refills to come out. Most shrimp. We're way overdone but some were cooked great. I loved the new dragon shrimp served on a bed of coleslaw and I love the garlic shrimp scampi served in a dish loaded with melted. butter and garlic. I also loved the garlic shrimp skewer but the Walt's favorite, coconut shrimp and the new tequila lime shrimp skewer were so overdone they were rubbery. Walt's favorite came with bland cocktail sauce, the skewers were served on a bed of raw rice and the tequila lime came with a sweet sauce that didn't go with it at all.the coconut shrimp was served with a pineapple sauce that went great with it. We came here last night as we had a gift card and have been craving seafood. We sat in the bar area and were served by Jared. Jared was an awesome server - we never had to ask for refills of drinks or rolls, he was on top of it, even though he was the only server in the bar area. The food took a long time to come out, but tasted really good and everything was cooked properly with the exception of the clam chowder, which needed to be sent back and reheated (it was barely room temp.). I've been to this red lobster for carry out a few times since the pandemic started. Unfortunately I can't say that I've been super impressed. The first time we went I ended up getting The seafarer feast. It's definitely not cheap but the meal itself was well prepared and probably would've tasted better if I ate it in the restaurant. The second time I went I tried their new wagyu burger. The food itself was so so but the most disappointing thing was they've completely forgot an entrée and we had to drive back which made all of the rest of the food cold. They did give me a $15 gift card to make up for it but by the time I got to eat my burger it was stone cold and dry. This last time I went and used the gift card to try the Baja shrimp bowl. For the price you pay it's actually not bad however I knew something was missing as I was eating the meal and wondering where the ranch sauce was. The service tonight was horrible!!!! My family & I arrived at 6pm. And we didn't get our food until 7:40pm. My loaded potato was cold, my crab legs were cold and didn't have NO FLAVOR!!! my sister asked for baked potato with salad, and her dinner came with rice, potato, salad. My son said NO COLESLAW, and yet he gets a large bowl of coleslaw. The bartender doesn't know how to make a Long Island Ice tea, had to send it back 4 times until it was right. This is not my favorite place - mainly because I don't eat seafood. But on a Saturday night at 6:00, the other two steak houses in town had an hour or more wait. We called RL and we're told we could be seated right away. We were greeted and seated immediately after arriving. Our basket of cheddar biscuits were delivered. I had the sirloin with a baked potato and broccoli. My steak was cooked perfectly and flavored deliciously. I was surprised the steak was done so well, and it was so reasonable. We also had great service from a lovely, blond gentlemen. He made sure to keep our drinks full and checked on us the right amount. We will be visiting Fort Wayne over the next couple of years, so we will be sure to stop by again. read more

Wow, we had a great lunch for our son's birthday. The biscuits which came out right away were hot, fresh and delicious. I don't know what was in them but they were not plain. No butter needed! The birthday boy went for the king crab legs and was very happy. He even took some home. Dad had the blackened salmon which he declared some of the best ever. He said it tasted like true blackened not just made to look that way. My coconut shrimp was breaded with large shreds of coconut and was a generous portion. The dipping sauce was on the sweet side but quite good. The mashed potatoes with langostinos were delish! But, oh my, those biscuits! Terrible service. Had a manager have to start out drink order. We only saw our server Brittney D two times. All-you-can-eat shrimp was a joke. Skewers were served cold and rubbery. The salad was finally bought out literally within 60 seconds of our main course. Managers were too busy serving tables and seemed completely unbothered by us trying to express our complaints. This location has gone downhill and we will not be returning. If you want half-decent seafood in Fort Wayne and decent service do not go to our Red Lobster. I happened to find a really old gift card, so I took my teenage daughter here after church two weeks ago. We arrived right when they opened at 11:30. When we walked in we both looked at each other-the place smelled like sewage! Maybe a plumbing issue? Our table was literally right outside the kitchen, but at least the food smells masked the poop smell. Our server was so sweet and kind. She kept the biscuits coming and our drinks full. We just love this place and dine there about every Friday night! Our favorite meal is Wood-Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Salmon...when the green beans are done right they are out of this world! I get a side of maple glazed to go over my salmon n green beans....the best ever! Our favorite drinks are Top Shelf Long Island (which by the way Tom thinks is the best in town) and mine is Strawberry n Mango Lobstarita with sugar n lots of lime they call it the Meka Rita n i promise you will never taste anything so good...now if I could only figure out how to make it at home! This stuff reminds me of Sea-Pak frozen stuff, ok maybe a touch better, but better frozen stuff that comes in similar to Sea-Pak brand. Ok we could argue most shrimp comes in frozen. It's better than Sea-Pak but not good like lets say the Oyster bar. You get what you pay for pretty much, but with Red-Lobster you break pretty even, and that's a good thing. You are paying for the name a little (typical greedy franchise) but at the same time I'm sure Red Lobsters gets the deals as it buys in bulk big time throughout the nation, so you're in luck. They be buying bulk shrimp, Fish, all of that Sea life they serve your nibbler piece. My nibbler piece can't stop eating them damn butter rolls they be serving me. Come on let me get to my meal, ahh hecks no the damn butter roll is too good. Hate when that happens skipper. It's not bad if your wife or date whines to go to Red Lobster then take her, enjoy it. I enjoy their service and the restaurant layout and atmosphere. The staff really are all-in at being friendly and gracious. I had carryout during one of the recent times they didn't have salad due to the romaine issue. Perhaps a backup plan for a busy weekend? The fries were good, and the coleslaw was like a deli slaw, no issues there. The fish was very thin strips and under cooked. Not bad-fishy-tasting, but really bland and tasteless. The scallops were very tasty, but also under cooked. I seem to remember the rolls being better, they were just OK. I've had lobster here a few times, and it always comes back overcooked and salty, but that's been a few years ago. I think I'm going to stick to places that at least offer cod as a fish option. This was the worst red lobster we have been to, to start the service was terrible. We got our salads after the food came out. The waitress took forever to just simply re fill our drinks. The restaurant was not busy. We ordered the endless shrimp and it seemed like we were forgot about and had to remind our server a few times that we had not received our food. To top it off, we ordered cheesecake for dessert that was severely freezer burned. It was dry and old. I'm shocked they even served it to us. We tried informing the manager who's name was Logan to give him an opportunity to make things right and he seemed to not care about the service and the terrible food we were provided. He took the cheesecake off the bill, but we had a code to have it for free in the first place. We spent over 100 dollars for sub par food and service. Red Lobster is a chain restaurant, and I usually don't review nationwide chains, but the food was so good last night that I just had to. I got the dragon shrimp bowl and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. The broccoli and rice complimented the shrimp perfectly. I also love the inside of Red Lobster. The New England style decoration is amazing. It always makes me want to take a vacation to Maine! I have always loved Red Lobster, but I definitely found a new favorite dish!
