We had a gift card to use so Nate and I stopped by Red Lobster recently for dinner. I ordered the filet Oscar style with grilled asparagus and a baked potato. Nate got the sirloin with lobster tail. Of course we started with the cheddar bay biscuits, which are still good, although I do think they have changed a bit since the 90s. Our food took a bit of time to come out, but we weren't in a rush. When Nate's plate arrived, it was missing the lobster tail and our server told us they were refiring another one for him. My steak was cooked a bit over medium rare, but was pretty tender and seasoned well. It was not a great quality steak, but I wasn't expecting anything fancy. The Oscar topping (crab and hollandaise) was actually really tasty. Unfortunately Nate's steak was not to his liking and he wished he had ordered something else. My husband and I went here and had a "meh" experience overall. There seemed to be a few miscommunications between workers which led to some issues, with a quick "sorry" given whenever this happened (for example, we waited at the front for over 10 minutes and no one ever showed up to greet/check in during that time. Another worker noticed and came and apologized and wrote down the info by hand instead). I got the new chicken pizza and my husband got unlimited shrimp. Both of us agreed the pizza wasn't great but it wasn't a bad price, so I just filled up on the very yummy rolls (which are delicious!). My husband got the unlimited shrimp and really enjoyed himself. You can order 1-2 more servings after your initial three choices. He left very happy. Our waitress was nice and she did the best she could out of the situation. Not too noisy. Just a few issues with the experience leaving me not want to return if my husband wants to go back. Side note: I wish they had the lobster tank at the front not looking so depressing. The lobsters were in a corner and one was trying super hard to get the bands off its claws. Arrived around 8pm on a Monday. The hostess seated me right away in a booth in the bar area. My server, Terry, was kind and knowledgeable. Told her about my dairy allergy and she made modifications to my dish. Decided on two shrimps - Coconut and Grilled. I could tell they didn't put butter on the grilled shrimp and it tasted great! Coconut shrimp sauce has dairy so she left that off my plate. The side of Brussel sprouts were a little too broiled for my taste but I was hungry so I ate them. The "new" commercials and attempts to win customers back just won't work. It's still the same old and tired lousy food and service. We really hoped for better when we decided to get lunch on a weekend. Crowds just aren't there any more and now we know why. Service was terrible. Our waitress just didn't want to be there. Attitude from the moment she arrived at our table as if she had somewhere better to be. Brought us our drinks but then said she'd have to "stop back" to get our orders. It took fifteen minutes for her to do this. Clearly, we're on her timeline at not ours as guests. Ordered two appetizers and requested that this not be brought at the same time as salads. She either didn't care or didn't bother writing it down, because they all were dropped off at the table together. Sea scallops were tough and fishy, so we knew that this would spell disaster if we ate these. Same for the calamari, which was cold arriving at the table anyhow. Salads were okay. Very small in an almost sampler-size bowl. Lots of grief regarding the cheddar bay biscuits too; they really make sure that you only get two per person. Lunch entrees were just as awful. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon and it was a tiny portion that you could tell was once a frozen brick of horror. The other person with me ordered the Admiral's Feast, which he gets every single time. It looked awful when the plate was dropped off by another person, and our server never checked in on us. Both meals looked like they were thrown on the plate in a cafeteria-style method. Just not at all what we thought that it should be for the price charged. We finally had to track another server down to ask if we could get a drink refill, and to speak to a manager. Only then did we see our real server. Manager made excuses for every single thing. Literally, nothing was their fault directly. Pathetic. We were offered a free dessert, but declined. They finally adjusted our bill for the appetizers and took off one entree price because we didn't eat anything more than the sides for each of these. The food was amazing! I haven't been in here in years, and I have not been here in like 20+ years. Have to say it's as good as I remember. Sad to learn that king crab legs are not a thing anymore, but the snow crab was still good. The server was good she checked on us a great amount of time. Super friendly and patient with us. We have had dinner in this restaurant frequently over the years and have always had positive experiences. Tonight, however, was so atrocious that we will never come back. My husband and I arrived and saw that my parents, niece and nephew were unexpectedly there. We joined them, and they said that they had been waiting a long time already . We placed our order. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Nobody received drink refills and we were not offered another basket of rolls. My mom asked the waitress for a drink refill and eventually, we got them. My mom asked why our order was taking so long and the waitress said she had just put it in, but she would check. My niece went to speak to the manager, who told her that we had changed our order and it had to be remade. My niece explained that we had not changed our order and the manager asked, "What do you want me to do about it?" When our food finally came, my niece was telling the rest of us about her conversation with the manager and the waitress interrupted our conversation to defend the manager. We said we were just trying to figure out why our order took so long, and the waitress yelled, "we're done here. We're not serving you and you can leave." We got up to leave and asked the hostess if we could speak to the manager. The waitress yelled across the room, "uh uh! We're done! You need to leave." Keep in mind that none of us raised our voices or verbally attacked the waitress. The manager was no help. She basically said she knew there had been "some problems." We gave up and left. I just read a review from another person and they said they were surprised how much they liked Red Lobster. I have to say that I am on that same boat. I initially was not looking forward to this visit but a family member wanted some seafood and they knew they wanted a dish from Red Lobster. The atmosphere has improved and is a bit nicer than before. The staff was very friendly and our waitress was very pleasant and personable. The lobster linguine was loaded with large lobster pieces to include almost an entire claw. I dare say it might be more Lobster than if you ordered a while lobster. The creamy sauce was good and plentiful. It was $25 and in my opinion worth it. The sesame soy salmon bowl was amazing. It is what really changed my opinion on what I thought about Red Lobster. The salmon was cooked well and was a nice portion size. The baked brussel sprouts with the soy ginger glaze was fire. The rice and spring mix were a nice compliment to the dish. The edamame was just a nice portion to change the texture of the dish. Definitely a repeat. If you haven't been to Red Lobster in a while like me, I would say you need to give it another try. read more

I have eaten at this location twice now since a previous visit a year ago. A year ago the experience was less than stellar. I am happy to report that the last two times have been wonderful. When my husband pulled into the parking lot of this establishment a couple of weeks ago I was not happy.....that's how bad the previous experience had been. I am so glad that he decided to give this place another try. Daffney (sp) was our server and she was amazing. She was so good that we went again (for my birthday today) and requested her to be our server. Daffney always seems to know when we need her assistance and she is never obtrusive. Today I got coconut shrimp, sprouts, and a baked potato. The shrimp is so BIG! I actually had to cut the shrimp up into smaller pieces. I don't think I would have been able to dunk a whole one into the cup of Pina colada sauce that comes with it. The sides that I got were great too. I have always loved their baked potatoes, they are rolled in salt before they are baked, and now I am a lover of their brussell sprouts. The sprouts are nice and crispy and they are covered in a sweet glaze. Since this is my birthday I got a free dessert. I treated my mother who is a cancer survivor and my father to dinner today. Neither myself or my mother have ever had lobster before so, why not go to a place with Lobster in the name? Well the food was fantastic and we were treated so wonderfully. We even got a great window seat for extra lighting after our server realized we would prefer it. Where do I start, we were not welcomed, I waited for my friend for 10 minutes no one say hi, hello.. nothing. My friend found a hair in her lobster pasta they "remade it" in 1 minute they deducted it from my bill but I insisted on paying for it, I don't go to restaurants to get free meals. My fish was only 1 price of fish ONE, and to top it off it was overcooked and dried and the fries were cold. I didn't finish it. I paid my whole bill, left a 20% tip but I would not go back it is overpriced $70 for 2 meals a lemonade and 1 shake The place is dark and dingy. Never more. read more

Today was an exciting and fabulous experience for me and my family at this restaurant. Harley was our server and she deserves a raise for the experience she gave us with the knowledge of the menu and recommendations that she suggested. I'm sad to say I had one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a while. I really hate to rate on service, but we saw our waitress literally twice the whole night. She poured our waters, took our orders, a busser brought our food, and we paid on the little game machine and left. No refills or more bread, our waitress had way too many tables, it was understaffed and not even at full capacity. It was just really disappointing. Came here on Valentine's Day, and it was extremely busy. We waited 1 hour, luckily we asked where our name was on the list and apparently they didn't even save our name! We came in at 6:15pm, only got seated at 7:15pm because we approached them as we didn't hear our name called. They should have a different system than putting names down and having people stand in the front area. Once in the restaurant, luckily our server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. We got the calamari appetizer which was good and came with banana peppers which is a strange choice. I've had previous calamari dishes at other Red Lobsters with broccoli and red sweet peppers that were breaded and those were delicious. For dinner we shared the Admiral's Feast and Ultimate Lobster Fest Surf and Turf. The lobster pieces were quite small and the steak was ok. It's saying something if my favorite part of the dish was the steamed broccoli... The Admiral's Feast was pretty good, the fried scallops were my favorite part. Ordered food through Grub Hub while away on business. Food took almost two hours to get to me on a Wednesday night. When the food arrived, my shrimp scampi had no scampi sauce (just shrimp???) and my baked potato had no butter. I also had no cocktail sauce although I paid for it. The worst part is that I asked for my paper receipt, and they did not give it to me, meaning work won't reimburse me for the $30 I spent on a horrible meal. I called the restaurant and spoke to Diane. I politely explained to her my situation and requested a full refund (seemed fair since I can't get reimbursed and everything was wrong). Diane told me that there's nothing she can do because it's through Uber Eats. I explained to her that it was the restaurants fault, not Uber eats, so that's why I called them. When I asked for a contact to Uber eats she could not provide me with one. It's very obvious that the restaurant doesn't care about to-go orders. Even the way she spoke to me on the phone is not what you'd expect to hear out of a red lobster manager if you were sitting in their dining room. She said to me that all to-go receipts get stapled to the bag.. when I told her it's not stapled to my bag and that she should reiterate that with her servers bagging to-go orders, she said Uber eats must of ripped it off. If they forgot my scampi sauce with my shrimp scampi, what makes you think they care about my receipt? Front of house, back of house, and management all did not care about me and it's really disappointing to be treated that way from a restaurant I've been going to since a little girl. Do not come here for the seafood. What a disappointing trip. My parents have been coming to this location for years. But this was the worst trip food wise. The seafood has no flavor, nothing taste fresh, no love put into the food. We got the bay harbor seafood pasta and the noodles were bland and hard. The lobster taste like rubber and the shrimp was chewy. The new small plates were ok. Potstickers, good. Spicy shrimp great. Lobster roll was so sad. Lobster Linguini with Maine lobster, the Maine Lobster was no doubt the best part of the dish, Noodles were kind of bland, seems like the dish focused more on the Maine Lobster and I'd expect that but I'd also expect the noodles to be flavorful too. I hate to say it, but this place needs a refresh in the interior. It is dark and the decor is dingy and washed out, and there was a musty smell. Kinda sounds like an attic or a closet doesn't it? I guess it's not that bad, but replacing the carpet at least and opening some windows would probably go along way. The food was as expected, nothing to blow you away but satisfies your seafood craving. The dated decorum definitely takes away from experience. I swear I heard those poor lobster in the old looking fish tank in the front lobby saying, "help me, where am I. Hey buddy!" rather than, "I'm fresh". Oh by the way, I think restaurants have quietly moved away from complimentary desserts for birthdays. The lobster has been pastey in texture and then this las time the steak was raw and smelled bad also the Brussel sprouts are supposed to be carmelized and usually have a sweet taste. This time they were just roasted. I feel that they get lazy when it's pick up, because they know you're not going to come back to change your food. I will not waste my $ again. Not al dents but not done. Since it was a to go order assumed they would add silverware but nope that was missing. Since, I'm staying in a hotel had to go all the way back down stairs to get eating utensils.
