Highly recommend utilizing their waitlist system! Added ourselves while we were on the way to the restaurant. Got there and the restaurant was packed, but I notified the hostess that our entire party had arrived and we were seated immediately after. Service was awesome; they started us off with two baskets of rolls and I asked for the kids meal to be put in right away. The kids meal came out to the table five minutes after, which kept our boys happy and consumed! The adults ordered the combo appetizer platter with snake bites, loaded wedges, and fried pickles. All three of the apps tasted good; nothing was overly Salty or dry. While we felt like the wedges and pickles portions were generous, we only got 4 snake bites and wished we could have gotten at least one or two more since they weren't very big, but we understand that it was a sampler platter! For our entrees, we each got the Texas Combo of the 12 oz. Ribeye with Ribs. The steaks were cooked perfectly to medium rare, and the ribs were fall off the bone. My MIL got her steak with mushrooms on top and she mentioned that they were a little too Salty for her liking, but she enjoyed everything else including her baked loaded baked potato and salad. I want to start this review by saying that I do not eat steak or any red meat at all, so this review might be less useful for folks that are enjoy a big hunk of meat. However, I ordered salmon green beans and a sweet potato. The salmon and sweet potato were fine, but the green beans come with big chunks of bacon? The server kindly replaced the beans with broccoli. The broccoli was overcooked but otherwise fine. Everything here is fine. The service was kind and friendly but she was forgetful and did share that she didn't think she was paid enough which seemed like an over share. It wasn't too busy, there were lots of empty tables but I still had to wait 10 minutes or so to be seated. If Texas Roadhouse is your type of place, then don't let this review stop you from enjoying it. But if you're looking for somewhere on 28th street to eat, there are lots of other options! read more

In town on business and looking for a casual place to eat near my hotel. I hadn't been to Texas Roadhouse in decades but thought I'd give it a go. I sat at the bar where Craig took great care of me. I ordered the Steak Kabob along with a Caesar salad as my side. Everything was great and for $15.99 for my entree plus salad, it's tough to beat. The house made rolls are awesome as well. My friend & I stopped in while she was visiting Grand Rapids . I've been to this location before & have never had any complaints but tonight our experience was beyond incredible due to the service of Jackie. We had Jackie as our waitress & she took remarkable care of us. She was quick, she was kind, & she made sure we had everything we needed and then some without us even having to ask. I put us on the waiting list as we left our hotel 15 minutes before and within five minutes of arriving we were seated. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu because what we came for the "medallion filets" were sold out. We had a Dallas 8 ounce filet and it was delicious. I had a gift certificate but our meal was slightly less than it so they put the balance on hold for the future. I wanted to leave a tip on my credit card but I couldn't because of how their system works. Thank goodness I had some money because the other way to leave a tip would be to buy something else. Texas Roadhouse is always loud so if that bothers you go somewhere else. Amyah was a great server and we were out rubbing our tummies in no time back to the hotel. We were greeted and sat quickly on a Sunday night after spending a week at a music festival so I'd have to say that it was a great meal on all accounts. Overall a very good experience. I'd actually give it a 4.5, but it only let me do whole numbers. Went on July 5th with a party of 9. We called ahead & had to wait a few minutes, but we were also a few minutes early. Our server, Logan, was great. Friendly, professional, efficient. I'd give her 5 stars. We got the twisted mozzarella sticks as an appetizer & they were really good. The cheese pull was impressive, the kids loved it. The only order issue was one of the kids steak came out medium instead of medium rare. We decided not to send it back because we were on a time crunch. He grumbled & didn't eat it, but that was his choice. I personally had the 8oz sirloin with a baked potato & side salad. The salad came out first on a wildly cold plate. Ingredients crisp & fresh. Baked potato was a tad over done on one side, but overall tasted good. My steak (& everyone else's) was cooked correctly & well seasoned. I don't have high expectations for a mid-level steakhouse like this, but I was pleasantly surprised! The littlest one got Mac & cheese with applesauce as a side & ate everything, which is rare! The reduced star is for the incorrect cook on the steak & again, I wish I could give it a 4+ because I hate to take off a full star. Service and food were excellent. We had about a 20min wait for our party of 6, which was no problem. We simply listened to music in the car. Food came out in a timely manner and our waitress was on top of everything. The sirloins and ribeyes are so tender and buttery. The mashed potatoes are some of my favorite. Heck even the salads are fantastic. And the rolls are unlike any other. That cinnamon butter hits the spot every-time. I refrained from eating more than one this time because I've definitely spoiled my dinner other nights. I love taking out of town guests here because it's such a special treat. It's okay. It's corporate fare. We go because the kids love it along with the game console. My hubby likes it because the steak is big, cheap and unfortunately tastes better than most privately owned establishments at a fraction of the price. So, here we are. I ordered the filet medallions (9oz) with choice of sauce and 3 sides for $23.99. Can't really beat that price. Everything tasted good except my salad. Half way through I found something inedible in it from the kitchen. So, I let the waitress know, she got the manager, whom was a young lady and I think she apologized and offered a replacement. I wasn't really interested. I had the rest of my meal. It was okay, as expected. I got the bill, and asked for a discount and they complied. So, no complaints, but management could do better and not make me seek remuneration for the restaurant's error. We probably will be back as the family likes this place very much. read more

Worst prime rib I've ever had, tasted off, served dry and barely lukewarm, very chewy without any of the tenderness you'd associatev with a prime cut of beef, but lots of fat and gristle. My son's was not much better, we brought it to the manager's attention who did nothing to remedy it. Won't ever be having Prime Rib there again, and doubtful we'll ever return. read more

We knew it was busy, but, after ordering a $30 16 oz ribeye (the most gristly 1/2 inch piece of 12 oz meat on the planet), a $26 8 oz filet (looked and felt like the end trimmed off a sirloin), a half rack of ribs (which I'm told were pretty good), a to-go order of 16 oz sirloin (both sides were ordered as fries-we got half of them), and a 16 oz sirloin (surprisingly decently prepared), an Oberon which magically appeared as a Miller Light, and being out of most anything else we ordered for drinks, we are severely disappointed with the entire $200 (!!!) experience. Oh, and it was so loud inside the restaurant, the waitstaff needed repeats of all the orders. To top all this nonsense off, we were forced to wait an extra 45 min to be seated because 3 of the party's people were parking their car while the hostess checked in the entire party early, refusing to seat those there, and giving the table to someone else. But I went to the bar 20 mins before close and the bartender was so pissed that I came in late that she didn't get my drink right and didn't even ask if I wanted a to go container. Worst experience in all of my life at a Texas Roadhouse. I've been here several times and tonight was by far the worst. We came in at 7:20 and we were seated at 7:36. We ordered kids Mac and cheese w/ fries, twisted mozzarella, a pulled pork sandwich, and a pulled pork dinner. It took about 15 minutes to get our drinks and it was busy at first so we didn't mind waiting. But then we sat there for an hour and a half with only our daughters Mac and cheese & fries and the twisted mozzarella and drinks. We saw many people who'd come in after us receive their food and leave. We're heading home right now still hungry because we never received the food and they had the audacity to still charge us for the mac and cheese & fries and drinks. (I used a birthday coupon on the twisted mozzarella and got that for free and that was ruined too) they quite LITERALLY shoved us in the corner and forgot about us. We also asked to see a manager and they brought out the server who disappeared for nearly the whole time to apologize. I'm exhausted and hungry and if I would've had the energy I would've cursed someone out. Y'all need to get your sh*t together. She smiled as she greeted us and took our drink order, but things quickly went south. My guest and I decided on appetizers. One that we chose were the cheese fries, and who was sitting opposite me was kind enough to let us alter the order to exclude meat, since I am a vegetarian. Miss Jailene looked at me like I had two damn heads. Girl? Grow up. But we quickly got over it... Until it was time to order our entrees. So, the only salads on the menu have chicken in them, right? I really wanted a caesar but the only one without meat was a side salad. So I specified that I wanted an entree caesar salad, so I asked for the chicken one without chicken. This location used to be the best one in the Grand Rapids area. Not anymore. Took my husband for his birthday and what a disappointment. The meat was extremely overcooked, and the entire restaurant was filthy. We got there at 3:30, they had only opened at 3, and it was obvious the place hadn't been cleaned at all in at least a day or two. The bathrooms were filthy, trash overflowing, sinks dirty and toilets were disgusting. The service was good. This review lands squarely on the shoulders of the management. Won't be going there again. Very attentive, continually asking how my dinner was, if I needed anything etc. he chatted w me about the NCAA game I was watching as well as if I was from the area. We have gone to many TRH restaurants. This was our first poor experience. The girl that greeted us (with the fun dinosaur earrings) was very sweet! I had a hair that I found as I bit into my roll. No biggie it happens. I told our server, she said "I'll bring you more rolls". We declined as we had eaten half of them already. She said "I'll bring you more butter" and walked away. The salad was delicious as always. I ordered shrimp skewers and a sweet potato, also delicious! My husband ordered his usual steak (medium rare, more rare than medium) with mushrooms. Every single TRH steak has always been fenominal! That's why he chooses to eat at them. He ate honestly maybe 6 bites. It was over cooked and so grisly! When our server FINALLY came back, she asked if we needed a box for his steak. I told her no and explained why. As if the pile of gristle didn't explain it enough. It definitely wasn't the delicious fat that's usually on the steak, it was tough and inedible. She left, brought us our bills and left. As someone that came to visit family out of state I was very disappointed in this location. I understand it was a pretty busy weekend but that does not excuse the fact that there was absolutely no clean cutlery. They had offered us a "to go"cutlery after 40 mins of being seated. After 20ish minutes we finally received our cleaned cutlery once we have already finished All the food we received were cold, minus the rolls those came out straight from the oven, deceiving us that the rest of our foods would be hot. The Manager, Desmond, was a bit pushy at the beginning because the complete party wasn't there and threatened to give our tables away because I couldn't answer his questions...mind you, I wasn't the one who made the reservations, I was the first one of the party to get there. So, Desmond gets a 1 star for the harassment and his rude behavior, do better Desmond. Anyhow, fast forward...we get seated and of the 20 people of the party there was 9 kids! Food was delicious! I don't often go to chain restaurants anymore if I'm honest, but I was in the mood for steak and my son was taking me out for my birthday so we decided on Texas Roadhouse. The service wasn't the best and it was really loud but that's pretty par for the course I'd say for this type of place. My son and I both got the filet medallions and sides and they were superb. We've eaten here many times with food and service generally pretty good. Take out has provided us with a different experience. We ordered chicken crispers and a slab of ribs. After waiting a reasonable amount of time in the parking lot for curbside service, our food arrived. We checked to make sure the requested sauces were included and only a couple of them were in the bag. Now, after letting them know, we waited another 10 minutes or so for our sauces. Once home, the chicken crispers were good-not over cooked so both the breading and chicken had a nice light, taste. The ribs were another story. They appeared to be overcooked and dry but that wasn't the big problem. Our slab of ribs was almost entirely all fat. Had I been in the restaurant, I would have never accepted it. I tried calling when I got home but they were busy and I could not get a live person. I consider my purchase of ribs a charitable donation as I certainly did not get edible food for my purchase.
