A coworker and I went in for lunch today to partake of the Lobster Festivities! I ordered the Rockport Stuffed Tilapia with green beans and wild rice pilaf. The fish was cooked just right, and the stuffing added a perfect crab flavor. The creamy lobster topping set it apart. The rice was well prepared, and the green beans crunchy and good. Service was great, and I made sure to commend our server, Thomas, to the the manager. He was very knowledgeable on the dishes and made sure we had a great experience. Maybe the only downfall would be the cost, at ~$19.00 for lunch it's a bit much, but we don;t do that often so what the hey! read more

The star of the show was the biscuits although they were slightly undercooked in the middle and should have been more golden brown. The coconut shrimp was too sweet and since it was so sweet it should have been served with spicy sauce to balance it out better. It was served with a sweet sauce. The lobster bisque was unediable because it extremely salty and there was zero lobster pieces in it. We had to send it back and order another cup of the clam chowder instead which was good. Interesting the lobster bisque is more expensive than the clam chowder. My daughter ordered her steak medium but there was barely a hint of pink. The Mac and cheese had burnt bacon on top, that should have never sent out like that. The Shrimp Skewers were suppose to be garlic but I couldn't taste any garlic. The Broccoli was seasoned with garlic though. The menu said it would come with two sides and didn't list that it came the Orzo rice as well. The shrimp was placed on top of the Orzo rice and normally this wouldn't be issue, but for someone who is gluten free, that is a problem. I didn't want to make a big deal about it and everyone already started eating so I just ate the shrimp and try to avoid the rice as much as I could. Although I'm not allergic, I am gluten sensitive and do feel very sick if I eat gluten by accident. If I was allergic, I would have no choice but to send it back. It should be clearly stated on the menu that it served on top of Orzo rice because not everyone can have Orzo. It's very rare for a restaurant, especially a well known restaurant, not to have any gluten free options on the menu. The Waygu burger was decent. But overall, we were not impressed and will not be back. The portions are small and its way overpriced for the quality. The steak and lobster meal we ordered is normally $31, I would have been really irritated if we paid the normal price on a different day. It wasnt even worth the special price of $21. If you price your meals in the 30 dollar range, customers expect excellent quality and better service. With the way the economy is going, if Red lobster wants to keep the quality low and portions small, then they should consider lowering their prices by at least $15 to $10, if they want to stay open in the next few years. Most people would rather spend their money where they can actually enjoy good quality food. It's not worth it to pay that amount and not enjoy your food. read more

Went to Red Lobster as a celebration for my husbands birthday. It was awful!! Our server didn't write down our orders and had to come back to the table to clarify three times. We never got our salads or our soup, three of our entrees were wrong. I ordered endless shrimp but was never asked if I wanted more. The worst part was that the waitress blamed everyone but herself for the mistakes. She blamed the mistakes on "lack of staff", "runners" but never took responsibility for herself. So disappointed!! Don't get me wrong, I am NOT a Red Lobster fan. I have repressed memories, but you can thank my family for that. Always going here whenever possible, getting the exact thing every time. Even to this day I debate on whether or not to get popcorn shrimp. Plus, I'm still mad that they took away the fried mushrooms with the insanely spicy horseradish sauce, but I digress. It's a Red Lobster. Have you been to one? Well this one is no different. They all look the same, the food's the same, the service is the same (or less if you go to another location in the Oakland County region). So why 4 stars? They keep it clean for the most part (I have noticed some dust buildup on the window sills and overhead lights) and I haven't had any real problem with the food. My husband has been begging me to come here since Christmas and finally I agreed... everything was great, the server we had was amazing! We both ordered the serf and turf and when we got our food my husband took a bite and spit it out after trying to get it down. The smell of the steak smelled rotten they made us a new steak and we ended up taking it home. On the way home we stopped at target and by the time we got to the car, the whole car smelt like old garbage! We put the food right in the trash when we got home. Alright, its Valentine's Day and my girlfriend and I want a romantic dinner at home, so we order from Red Lobster through DoorDash. Food arrived on time, but Red Lobster was very neglectful of our order. 1) It says all entrees come with 2 of their biscuits, we got none. 2) Our breaded shrimp was missing its dipping sauce. 3) Our Cesar salad said it comes with croutons, they forgot them too. 4) Right after eating my girlfriend's stomach turns inside out. Currently midnight at the time of writing, and she's been in the bathroom since dinner...happy valentine's day... I don't know if the food was unsafe due to the kitchen's negligence or from a natural risk of seafood, but heed this warning: only dine-in for Red Lobster, and only if you are willing to take on the risk of food poisoning. Their to-go/delivery service is inexcusable, and left out 3 separate items from a very simple order for two, and got one of us sick. We tried the Lobster Fest again (on Valentine's Day) and were very happy with our selection. I had the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake for the third time in as many years and it was better than the first two. The Lobster Tail was not an overly large serving, but it was cooked perfectly. The shrimp and scallops were a good size and delicious. I also enjoyed the mussels and the linguine noodles it all was served on top of. My Wife and my Mom went went their more standard favorites of Crunch Fried Fish and the Crab Alfredo, which were both excellent. What a difference a different staff makes. Ordered a cocktail and not only cut my lip once I saw the chip in the glass I turned it and cut it on a second chip. This started it the rough experience. We ordered the unlimited shrimp. It turns out if you do not want to wait 20+ minutes for your second portion you only get one portion. We told them to forget it and just give us the check. The manager was not very helpful she offered to get us an order to go. If I wanted to eat my food at home I would have gotten a to-go order. The Crimson Crustacean is the epitome of a chain restaurant. However, they are rather pricey for what you get. The service at this location is excellent, once you are actually seated. The wait at peak times, however, can be rather long. Their salads are fresh, and the menu is varied enough to suit even those who do not like seafood. I've always found the cheddar bay biscuits to be FAR too salty, and that has not changed. I DO mourn the loss of my favorite menu item, which was the seafood fondue. Whenever we drive by, the parking lot is always full. Inside, people appear to be happy and satisfied. They do have a full bar, and some of the signature drinks are quite good. I have been going to this Red Lobster since I was a small kid. The food is always good and the manager always comes out and give us a friendly smile. I love the biscuits. Heck, I take my kids there just to eat the biscuits and they love to watch the lobsters in the tank. The food is always great. My meal always includes a baked potato, and some sort of shrimp dish. I also adore the chocolate wave cake. It is covered in frosting and chocolate chips. Yummy! I recommend going during non peek hours. Everyone at the table had the Endless Shrimp and we all thought it was good. Our waitress was very attentive which made the visit nice. However, I'm not sure if the whole restaurant smelled or if it was just the area that we were seated in, but it was a bad smell. I think it may have been the smell of dirty carpeting because there was a horrible odor. It was so bad that I wanted to get up and leave but since I was with others I just decided to stick it out. But I can definitely say that I won't be going back there because of that odor. Would I recommend this place? Last time we went, was for their All U Can Eat Shrimp." We sat at a booth in the bar and had Michael for our server. He is THE BEST server we've had. The Red Lobster Westland, MI location celebrated it's 40th anniversary in 2015. I worked there as a cook the day it opened. At first, it was kinda cheesy, and a step above fast food, but that was when it was owned by General Foods. The restaurant has evolved into an upscale seafood restaurant over the years. Such a bad experience last night on a Wednesday about 7:45. 6 of us had to sit In bar freezing cold at least 15 to 20 min to even be spoken to and offered water. Then at least 10 more min no water 2 drinks sitting at bar husband went and got himself then we were offered more drinks the waitress was busy with another table and was very apologetic so that was nice. Just crazy that all the other people working just waked by even the manager walked by us and upset our waitress by talking to her while she was trying to take care of us. ok, i have to start this review with a disclaimer "i'm ashamed of myself for enjoying it" so the story begins. my bf and his friend go to red lobster once yearly for "endless shrimp" and they decided to let me and the other girlfriend tag along last night. first of all. red lobsters was way cleaner than i expected. i haven't been in probably 2 years and i was surprised. the waiter was nice and attentive and he did this table bang thing that made us laugh. the biscuits were yummy. really i think they baste them like a turkey with butter and garlic and goodness. i've tried to make them and they are never that good. the shrimp was good. small and not what i would usually pick as a great shrimp, but good. it came in cajun, scampi, coconut, terriaki and breaded. the waiter made up for any shrimp downfalls with his perkiness and totally on the ball refills of shrimp. everytime he brought us one he asked what we wanted next. i managed to eat somewhere around 70 shrimp. i was really freaking full when we left and totally dumbfounded. red lobster i wanted to hate you! what have you done to me? love, juston read more

Red Lobster is usually a decent place to get seafood, and I like to make a lunch trek here every couple of weeks or so, but there were so many issues during our last visit that I will have to stay away for a bit. I'm sure I'll come back, as it was probably just one of those bad days. Let me share my experience. We showed up on a weekend day at 2PM. No wait, which was nice, but it probably took 10-15 minutes to get a drink order in due to a short wait staff. The hostess finally came over and took it for us. Our waitress finally made it over, and food was ordered (Which went well except for being out of trout). Quick side note: At that point we were told they were out of biscuits at the moment, but some would be coming out of the oven very soon. In my experience, about half of the time when you hear that they come out just undercooked. I assume that is because they are pulled early to get them out. That wasn't the case this time, but they did seem to lack butter and were dryer than normal. A second batch later came out the same way, enough that I didn't want to take the leftovers home. The salads were good, except when my young daughter found a hair toward the bottom of hers. She was done eating and full by that point and it did look a bit like her hair so we decided it could have been and let it go. The rest of the food took a long time to come out. It was almost 3PM when it showed. The food was good, until when we were almost done eating my wife discovered a hair under her salmon. She was not pleased at all. We determined that there must have been a hair net malfunction going on in the kitchen, as twice in a meal is a little much. Not wanting to wait another hour to get another salmon, and knowing mistakes happen, she let that go too. At this point we were full and just wanted to leave. As I said before, I'm sure I'll be back in the future when I crave some seafood again. Hopefully it was just a one off fluke and my next visit will get a better rating. read more
