I have to give a shoutout to their staff for their handling & caring of a older lady who came into Uptown Pizza lost & upset. She could have been anyone's Grandma. It was dark out & I felt so bad for her & wanted to help her but I don't know the area well enough to give her any type of direction. The staff at Uptown Pizza sprung into action to help her. Since it was so late & dark they opted to call the Boardman Police to escort her to her destination. That is what you do to foster a good community by being the reason the community is good. And they use their own mix of hot peppers, which I really enjoy. Not something out of a jar. I just don't enjoy their pizza sauce. I never have. It always seems to be lacking something. There just doesn't seem to be any flavor to it. It just seems like it is plain old bland tomatoes thrown on top of a pizza crust. The hot peppers added some heat and some herbaceousness to the pizza which made it more enjoyable. I guess that I will stay away from anything with tomato sauce from this location in the future. We also had a small order of boneless wings. They were crispy and huge. The amount of sauce that was included was just right and the flavor was on point.
