Love, love, love this place. Went last week with my mom, sister, daughter and her friend. We all had the best food, but what was even better was the wait staff and owner. They were so incredibly friendly! We loved everything about the visit. Emily was our server. Another person who checked on us was fabulous (now I know it was Vanessa) Today, my husband and I met our daughter and her fiancé there and again had a wonderful meal and the people literally could not be more awesome! The owner, Al, sat with us when we first got there today, just to visit. Vanessa was our server today and was amazing! Pros: Nice staff, pretty quick service. Homemade rye bread is good. Not too pricey. Cons: I ordered a veggie omelette and it came with little actual vegetables. Also ordered a side of fruit instead of potatoes/grits and it was a VERY small portion of fruit. Overall, the taste is similar to Denny's. Nothing out of this world and there are much better breakfast options in Marco aka Doreen's. read more

After reading all the great reviews I wanted to try this place. Wow. What a complete disappointment. When I arrived, the place was dead. I wasn't even really greeted let alone anything friendly about the place. Nothing like what I experienced at other local spots. My waitress wasn't good at all. She wasn't very friendly. She wasn't suggestive nor helpful. After she took my order I never saw her again. Some other gal brought my food. I asked for extra butter. As you can see from the photo I received no butter at all. Let's add no silverware to that order. So by the time I received both, my food was cold. So let's talk about the food. Besides it being cold, it was not very good. My waffle was somewhat burnt and crispy. Didn't have much flavor. They don't serve real maple syrup. So for anyone with a corn or other food allergies this wouldn't be the place for you. I never saw one person after I got my food. No one asked how anything was. Nothing. And like I said, it wasn't very busy. Anyways. I hardly ate any of my food. We just got into town and came here for brunch. We thought the food was good, fresh and excellent . The bread is home made and delish. I had an omelette and wife had a salad. Both were very good and the outdoor service was fine, but I am taking off a star because the hostess (maskless blonde lady) bragged about how Florida is an open state and no masks are required, while the staff wore them but she didn't. Cute atmosphere tucked in a strip mall, clean and inviting. Got the shrimp Benedict and an omelette, both nicely done. The shrimp was fresh and cooked just right. We had a superb Sunday brunch here today! To start, the Bloody Mary and Mimosas were wonderful, and our entrees of omelette and shrimp avocado Benedict were delicious! Great breakfast. An uncrowded spot off of the hotel beaten path. The food is great. Omelets are five eggs, so be prepared. The Belgian waffle is excellent. The staff is friendly and there is usually only a small wait. It isn't super noisy, either. And dog friendly. If you have a car and are tired of waiting to eat breakfast, head down San Marco to this great breakfast place. Oh - and it is 30% less than any place on the hotel path. read more

Ugh... so disappointed to be writing this, but new ownership is killing a great restaurant. Service has gone way down, they've switched to cheapo ketchup - and Pepsi! Products! Food is still ok, but the all new staff is really not up to the task. Also, a small thing but indicative of the new owner's non customer-centric operating style: the tv plays FoxNews (former owner had Weather Channel on). All five of us loved our meals - turkey wrap, Philly cheese steak, turkey club, chicken tenders, fries, potato salad, and biscuits & gravy! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was great and the staff was very accommodating. They even whipped up an amazing garlic aioli on the spot on request! First let me start off with the service. The person at the door was already taking out menus before we even walked in and when we sat down we were instantly asked about drinks. After we ordered drinks they came out within seconds. The food was excellent and the waffles I got were fluffy and moist. The decor in the restaurant was very nice and simple and the temperature was a perfect cool. The bathrooms were clean and roomy. I would not recommend this restaurant for people who are coming in from out of town. The food wasn't terrible but overpriced for the portions. I was charged for their mess ups like we had a Sierra Mist that wasn't drank more than 1 sip and we asked for a orange crush instead and we got billed for both. You have to pay for every small add on possible, peppers, onions, etc. I had fajitas and my rice was covered in black beans and I didn't know that it would be so I asked for just rice and I got billed extra for rice and beans which was $5 more aside from the $16.99 for the chicken fajitas. I went with 4 other people and we spent $105.89 without the tip. I'm convinced there are better breakfast and lunch spots in the area without even looking for any more. read more

Having spent many weekends here on Marco, I was always curious about Red Rooster. Place always seemed busy and a fellow foodie (Sef Gonzalez alias Burger Beast)had some good things to say about the food here. First a disclaimer, I am not a fan of breakfast foods. My son and I arrive around 8:05 am on Saturday. It was busy but we managed to score a table. We ordered The Tarra and Huevos Santa Fe. Food took 25 minutes or so to arrive at our table, a little too long for basically egg dishes. My son and fellow foodie was not excited about The Tara. I can usually tell he is not a fan of food when he makes no remarks upon first mouthful! Soon I see him pile on the salt, anything to get his food tasting good :-) My Huevos Santa Fe were OK, nothing special add to that how long the dishes took and you get three stars for effort. Prices are reasonable and service was just OK. I did have to ask for additional napkins from the hostess. Place is spotless and if you are married to a mr or mrs clean they would have no problem eating here. Marco has a few breakfast joints that are all OK with the exception of the upscale and expensive Doreens. I like it but certainly its nothing to rave about. read more

We have eaten here twice since being on a 4 day vacation. The breakfast is great and the service is also great. You can tell this is a more local spot which is something we try to find on vacation. Have been to the Red Rooster in Marco many times & have always loved the ambiance & the food. Went again this weekend but not as great of an experience. Ordered the coconut french toast & found a long string in the food! The waitress spoke to the kitchen staff & they said it was from the cook's dish rag! She offered to bring me a new order but I told her it was ok as I didn't want to wait for it nor make a big deal of the situation. I was disappointed & shocked to see the plate was still on our bill, they really should have taken it off. We paid our bill, but probably won't be coming back. I do not like their omelets. They are eggs that are "stuffed" with fillings, kind of like a taco - when you try to eat it everything just falls out. I prefer omelets were the ingredients are cooked in the egg and the only item that is folded into the omelette is the cheese. Visiting Marco Island for Labor Day Weekend. We found Red Rooster by accident and we are so glad we did!!! The food was awesome. I had the Lobster quiche (both times we went, it was to die for). My husband had the Big Daddy Scramble which he said was great! My sister in law had the bacon & spinach quiche the first day the next day she had the French bread pudding with bourbon sauce and she loved both choices. We are locals and Red Rooster and Bistro Soleil are our go-to restaurants for breakfast. This a nothing-fancy, old-style diner with a friendly staff and good food. Good sized portions, fresh ingredients (their bread is great), and reasonable prices. The owner is always checking on guests to make sure you are happy.
