Bagel breakfast Sammie with bacon - nice portion but two expensive
    Michael S.

Popular breakfast and lunch location. Friendly family run atmosphere with good food. My only issue with the restaurant is that it is too expensive. Eggs and potatoes starting at $14.99, it is easy to drop $50 between coffee for two and a tip for two breakfast dishes.

2 eggs any way (over medium) with grits and rye toast.

We had the BEST Breakfast at this adorable little spot!! Super clean & bright with rosters all over the place! The wait staff is beyond friendly and the food was SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!! You know you have stumbled into a special spot when the staff are welcoming patrons by first name and with hugs!! I had the 2 eggs any style (with grits and toast), and the hubs had the Vegetable Benedict, but they let him alter it to have the Black Bean Cake. He had the fruit with it. Let me just start by saying the food was all cooked and seasoned perfectly!!! They made my over medium eggs perfectly! The toast had just enough butter and the grits were creamy with the bright fresh corn flavor I like. On top of that the the portions were very generous while being very reasonably priced. I can not say enough positive things about our experience! If you're looking for a wonderful breakfast spot, LOOK NO FURTHER!! THIS IS IT!!!

We always ensure we can go to the Red Rooster for breakfast or lunch when we are on Marco! There are plenty of delicious options of both the breakfast and lunch variety. All generations love it, as we've been with my parents, in-laws, and my kids and they've all declared it delicious. We went twice on this vacation once for breakfast and once for lunch. I got the Big Daddy scramble the first time and the California scramble the second time, both were great! The big discovery this year was the hash brown casserole. It's potatoey cheesy goodness filled with magic. I would eat platters of that stuff if given the chance! As always, two thumbs up!

Wifey and I wanted to try another breakfast place while in Marco and Red Rooser seemed like EXACTLY the kind of place we love. We arrived early, about 8:05, and the place was empty, but we were greeted cheerily by Alan and our server (Who may or may not have been his wife). The place started filling up a bit right after we arrived. We ordered some coffee while we looked over the menu. Place is really cute and is decorated with (obviously) roosters all over the restaurant. Clearly a place for locals as the owner and server knew a number of people who came into the restaurant, even sitting down with one couple. I ordered the French toast combo - two eggs, hash browns, 1 French toast, bacon and I also had a side of grits. Delicious breakfast...though I would have liked slightly more cinnamon. Grits were good, not watery (in case you don't follow along, if there are grits in the menu I'm getting them...can't find them often in Jersey). Coffee was ok. Wifey got the California scramble - scrambled eggs, avocado, bacon, tomato with rye toast and hash browns. and iced coffee. Hash browns were good but not as well done as she likes. The rest of the her meal...she loved. Our server was SOOOO friendly and attentive. Super nice...I'd come back just because of her (ok, food was great too).

This place has fast customer service and great prices. I really liked the outdoor seating, especially dog friendly. I don't know if it was manager or owner but asked if my dog would like a breakfast bowl! My dog gobbled it up. Breakfast was delightful, highly recommend

After my experience on Thursday, February 12th, that's over. At 6:05 PM, I placed a small online order (mozzarella sticks, a calzone, and a sandwich) through their website, as I always do. Estimated pickup: 29 to 34 minutes. I arrived at 6:41 with my wife and kids in the car. Food wasn't ready, but "five more minutes." Fine. Five turned into twenty. Twenty turned into forty. During that time, I watched the staff take phone orders and quote every customer "20 to 25 minutes," no matter the order size. When I asked what the holdup was, the staff, who were genuinely doing their best, explained that new kitchen staff were struggling. My son was starving, so I left to grab him food elsewhere and came back about 30 minutes later, confident my order would be waiting. It wasn't. At 7:35 PM, ninety minutes after placing a three-item order, nothing was ready. I asked the staff why they were still quoting 20-minute turnarounds when the reality was 90+ minutes. I suggested they pause online ordering to let the kitchen recover. They told me the owner, Jared Grifoni, has instructed them to keep online orders on and to continue telling customers 20 minutes, despite knowing the kitchen is nowhere close to meeting that timeline. That's not a bad night. That's a policy decision to mislead customers for the sake of revenue. I requested a refund. As it was being processed, two of my three items finally came out. When the staff asked the kitchen about the last item, the answer was: "I have no idea when we'll get to that." I left at 7:46 PM, one hour and forty-one minutes after ordering. To be clear: the staff on the floor that night are not to blame. They were put in a no-win situation and handled it as well as anyone could. The issue is ownership making a conscious choice to overload the kitchen, deceive customers about wait times, and let the staff absorb the fallout. When I arrived, the restaurant was nearly full. When I left, it was almost empty. I won't be adding myself to either count again.

Wish we ordered another one as it wasn't enough for us (4 people). As this was a take out order, there was a big issue. The app gave options to add for an order. I ordered a spaghetti marina and thought I "added" garlic and oil. But when we received the order, it was just pasta, garlic and oil. Wtf?! Why the heck would anyone order a spaghetti and only want garlic and oil? The option was NOT clear. I thought it was in ADDITION to. So for $20 I got pasta and garlic and oil. No marinara. It's NOT spaghetti! This was a take out order so the experience might not be the same if you eat at the restaurant. UPDATE: The owner, Sami, called me the next day to apologize for the mixup and offered to replacement. Within 30 min I received a still hot spaghetti the way it's supposed to be. Not only that, he added some dessert. As a business person myself, I understand mistakes happen. But when the issue is rectified, it's a testament to the values of the restaurant. The spaghetti was delicious! Not only the food is delicious, but awesome customer service. I can imagine how good the service would be if we ate at the restaurant. Highly recommend. The seafood selection on the menu felt limited. I expected more variety for a coastal restaurant. Appetizers were decent but did not stand out. The salmon carpaccio looked nice and tasted as expected, but the flavor was fairly simple. The frutti de mar had good flavor and the seafood was cooked properly. The sauce worked well and did not overpower the dish. The portion was disappointing for the price. The dish cost $52 dollars and only included three scallops and three shrimp. The rest of the seafood was mostly clams and mussels. I substituted angel hair instead of linguine which helped keep the dish lighter. The chicken Madeira looked great but the flavor was mild. With a stronger sauce or seasoning it could easily be an excellent dish. The kids meals were a win. The chicken tenders and pasta kept them happy and the portions were solid. Overall experience was good mainly because of the service and presentation. Some dishes need stronger flavor and the seafood portions could match the price better. Still a pleasant dinner spot on Marco Island.
