This place truly has an eclectic collection of chandeliers... and I love it, but that's not all they have. They have a pretty incredible bacon mac n' cheese that really hit the spot when it comes to taste and flavor. It was so delicious I inhaled that dish as soon as it hit the table. I didn't even get a photo of it - it was THAT good! I ordered the winemaker's burger which was everything delicious and cooked to perfection. The Winemaker Burger consisted of Angus beef (I like mine cooked medium rare), sautéed mushrooms, glazed onion, aged white cheddar; cabernet reduction. I could've done without the bun, but it was pretty to look at and everything on the inside was so worth it! This is the first time for me and my wife eating here. Parking was great ( went about 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon). Walked in and was greeted promptly by the hostess who ask if we had a preference in seating ( low table or bar height table). We chose low table and were escorted to our table near the center of the restaurant. The restaurant is very nice. Not to loud, ( it was not very busy but the bar was full) with a bar and two televisions showing sports it could have been very loud but wasn't. My menu was sticky and after ordering I excused myself and went and washed my hands. That was the only bad thing about our experience. The service was great and the food was exceptional. We really enjoyed our experience at the Red Table. Not a huge menu but like I said, the food was exceptional. We will definitely be back to the Red Table. read more

My boyfriend surprised me by taking me to this restaurant on Valentine's Day. First, I suggested you book a table ahead of time because this place is always packed. When you first walked in, you are being greeted and sent to your table. The menu wasn't fancy at all but it was well organized from the appetizer to the desserts. I recommend getting the flat iron steak and the loco mock if you love meat. The flat iron steak was well seasoned and still juicy and tender with , olive oil, corn mash potatoes and green beans. There are three toppings you can choose from for the steak and I chose the chimichurie sauce. For Loco Moco, it has coconut rice, with gravy sauce, meat patty, and shredded beef. The service here was amazing and I would definitely come back to try out some more food because it was delicious. read more

Service not up to par. Not Red Table service. Food was good but not amazing. One item that really threw me off was the Charcuterie Board with a few pieces of bread and no crackers. When asked for crackers we got saltines in the bag. This is definitely not the Red Table we love. We're not giving up. We'll be back to the Red Table. A good place for special occasions. The cheap dates was delicious! However, as for the other appetizers (deviled eggs, pork belly, Brussels sprout) all were too dry, or salty for me. I also got the surf and turf burger, which the crab cake layer very crispy and tasty but the beef was a bit dry also. I've been here several times on a weekday for team lunches and to meet friends for happy hour after work. Everything I've had here is excellent. My favorites are the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup. Mmmm this hits the spot with all the rainy days we've had this year! The soup is rich and flavorful and the grilled cheese is gooey and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Perfection! The Red Table Pappas on the HH menu, OMFG, these are friggin' addictive! Our party of 3 ordered ANOTHER one of these even though we were stuffed, but we had to have more. They're potato wedges baked with a creamy sauce, called a "bacon chive aioli" with bacon bits on tip. So addictive. The tap list is pretty good, nothing outstanding to a beer snob, but plenty of standard microbrews to choose from and for $5 on HH, it's a steal. read more

I really love eating here. I have celiac disease, and they have a great selection of gluten free options. I almost cried when I got to eat fish and chips. They use rice flour in all of their fried items. The fish is delicious. The fries are also just the best. The sauces are wonderful as well. I've also had the table burger and it is really tasty. What's even better is that they have gluten free deserts. They staff is well informed and knows about celiac. it's scary for a celiac to eat out. You never know if you are going to get cross contaminated. The fear is real and can happen anywhere I eat. But I feel as safe eating here. The staff is always friendly and fun. I can tell that they enjoy working there. It shows when they talk about the food and how they are attentive to everyone in the room. My BFF likes their braise beef short rib; even though he complaint there is some fat in it. I'd like their pasta with sausage and shrimps ( best of the house ) To day, my friend kept telling me to order the meat loaf ( daily special ) it's $24. After a few bites, I regret to following my instinct to order the meat ball & spaghetti or Spicy Andouille Pasta. The meat loaf is dried and the hardboiled egg was falling a part, the gravy just mushy with no flavor, along with cold mash potatoes scoop, made me think of a week old food, not worth the price, overprice for what they served. Taylor Swift has a new song out right now called "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and it basically sums up my relationship with Red Table. One moment, I would be elated of how great things are going, the next moment, I am determined to not ever come back and make sure no one else does either. However, this is the third time I have ventured out here and this time, we're actually "back together" (collective sighs, yes I know) and here's why: 1. The "ordering up in front and having food brought to your table setup" (that was a lengthy phrase!) was not present that evening. We got seated and soon after, a waitress was taking our order and checking up on us all night. That made a huge difference in our experience. Plus, they alert you via text when your table is ready... the only thing off putting is that not everyone would have a data plan so I'm not sure if those people just end eat up eating the cost of getting a text (yes I know it's 2012 but I'm sure you know a handful of people who aren't with "it" yet). 2. On my previous visits, I mentioned the apps haven't wowed me. However, I enjoyed the ahi tuna tartare served with fried eggplant. I liked the contrast in texture between the eggplant and the tuna (which there was plenty of). The deviled eggs were just okay, I think they tried dressing it up but ultimately, I thought they were on the bland side... even when dipped in the accompanying red sauce which had a heavy vinegar aftertaste. Still, I'm not a big fan of making deviled eggs at home because it just stinks up the whole house, so I suppose I would order it here and maybe ask for a salt shaker next time? 3. The food was actually memorable this time! I had the belly burger ($15) which has a fatty piece of pork belly and a nicely dressed slaw. Wow, this thing is basically the definition of gluttony, definitely on the rich side. There were moments when my patty would fall out and I would just have a bite of pork belly and bun and that dissolved in my mouth like cotton candy. I think less of the patty would help cut the overall richness of this burger, but even so, I would order it again! Samurai fries were as good as I remember though I remembered much more nori seasoned on the fries last time. The fries also looked burned but they tasted fine... wasn't sure how they pulled that off. The Bollywood fries were basically their regular fries with a curry dip, nothing too extraordinary. 4. Dessert- the Red Table Cupcake seems to be diminishing in it's wow factor each time I order it but ultimately I like it (7 year itch much?). Trying out something new, we also shared the broken banana cream pie dessert. Unfortunately, the bananas lacked carmelization as promised and everyone was frantically searching for any semblance of a crust or a crumble in the dessert. I probably wouldn't order this again. 5. Brought two new friends to the restaurant and they liked it... almost like getting approval when you bring around the girlfriend or boyfriend for the first time... phew, dodged a bullet on that one. All in all, yes, I guess we are back together for now and I hope things don't end up sour again... wish us luck! read more

When you walk into Red Table you'll feel like you stepped into someones large, well-designed studio apartment. Very HGTV, if you ask me! The rugged "shabby-chic" decor gives this place a very girlie feel. From the little fresh picked flowers on the tables to the old-yet-classy pieces you can spot around the restaurant, it just screams vintage style gastropub. The lack of a manned host area always seems to irk me since it usually means they most likely don't have enough staff and that one or two people are working the floor. Not to worry, someone just so happen to drop food to a table near the door and told us to grab a menu and have a seat where we like. Good timing. We also noticed that the clientele was a little more mature @ the time of day we arrived (afternoon pre-dinner rush). I sat down in a booth with my family and started scanning their descent sized menu. Looks like their all about the sharing!! Since we already came from another restaurant on Main Street our minds were set on only getting a few small bites and, of course, drinks. *Cheap Date: These delectable bacon wrapped dates were a perfect combination of sweet and savory. I couldn't help but take each bite with a little piece of arugula and smudge of mascarpone. Eat them while their hot! *Kids Meal: What an amazing idea. A no fuss kids meal that is free of charge. Pasta with your choice of butter or marinara fully equipped with carrots and a Parmesan shaker. This simple and low cost freebie will surely make any kid & parent smile. Genius! *Broken Banana Cream Pie: A hefty portion of banana cream, fresh caramelized bananas, whipped cream, and a cookie crust. It was sweet and the kids obviously loved it. As for me, it was okay. I wasn't a fan of the banana cream flavor and crust they used. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves over some craft beers and wine, as our kids were preoccupied with their kids meal. The service itself could be a bit more attentive with all three tables in the whole restaurant but we were simply there to bask in each others company. If we were there for any other reason (like a stellar dinner experience or an appetizer sesh) ... the service factor and their Yelp star power would be a different story. Wait, where are we going? Huntington Harbour Mall? That's "Harbour" with a "u"? Do I need to wear my sea captain's hat and nautical-themed pashmina afghan? Little did I know that Huntington Harbour is just a fancy name for this neighborhood and shopping plaza in HB. I'm glad Mrs. Q is in the know, because we had a great lunch here over the weekend, and are looking forward to many more meals here in the future. Red Table's location, nestled in the back corner of this plaza housing Trader Joe's and House of Brews, belies a chic atmosphere and menu. Stepping into Red Table, you feel worlds away from being in a fancy strip mall, which is kinda what Huntington Harbour is. In any case, the ethos here is spelled out (or at least acronymized and embodied) by the name: RED, which apparently stands for Relax, Eat, Drink. Red Table has a funky modern aesthetic that is casual yet sleek, and yes, relaxing. Whoa I feel like I am just regurgitating buzzwords from Interior Design Monthly. (I just made that publication up, but it might actually exist.) As for the Eat & Drink components... pretty impressive, especially for being so "comfortably priced," as their website states. Meaning prices are not outrageous for a gastropub, AND the portions are generous. Mrs. Q and I shared deviled eggs, bacon-wrapped dates, fries, and the steak sandwich with au jus, and we had enough left over to box up and take home. But not before trying out a couple of their truffled chocolates, specifically the bacon and sea salt varieties. Everything was fantastic. Really, for only having opened the previous week, the food elicited no complaints. To top it off, Red Table sports a small but well-curated beer selection. After all that praise, I hesitate to bring up my minor complaint, but it's about their upfront, fast-casual-type ordering system. For one, it wasn't properly explained to us so we sat befuddled for a few minutes as we waited for... wait service. Once it was explained to us that you order at the counter (and can leave a tab open for further orders) the concept made a little more sense. Still, for this kind of atmosphere which I don't consider super-casual, and with the plates designed to be mostly shared, it seemed a weird fit to shoe-horn this ordering/payment style. But I wanna see the menu improvements: Foods in general have high standards yet I wanna see more of their uniqueness (Asian - more specifically modern Filipino fusion) and new items. I'm not a fan of eating the same food over and over.. I'm adventurous to try something new ;p - I'm not a fan of pasta nor Italian restaurant. But I think its location and clientele - upper class white Huntington Beach people - make them choose more "Italian" dishes.. Too much for me. They do cook foods in great ways with their own unique twists. Why pasta?! Too many pasta dishes. I wanna see "Loco Moco" or something you can't see easily at other restaurants around here. - The portion. It is a bit too big for a tapas. I wanna try various dishes, but each plate has a very decent portion preventing me from ordering more. I haven't been able to reach the desserts yet.. - French fries. Their various fries (just plain French fries with various sauces) aren't anything special (to me at least). I like French fries but rather have better food items than these fries. At one point this was my husbands and my favorite restaurant, and we ate here at least once a week. It has been quite a while since we have visited Red Table, and last week we decided to give them another go. Sadly, Red Table seems to be missing something here, and that something is Chef Louie Jocson. It is just not the same anymore. My husband was less than thrilled with his meal, and I ordered the roasted chicken entree. They probably could have called this the Sahara chicken, because this stuff was duh-rye! read more

Red Table - Broken Banana Cream Pie - Gastropubs Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

I'm writing this review because their Loco Moco is perhaps the best on the planet. It starts with a base of coconut rice (excellent accoutrement), topped with a ground beef patty, short rib (nice) and a poached egg. The truffle infused mushroom gravy and sriracha sauce (along with baby greens and herbs garnish) put it over the top. I've had some of the best Loco Moco direct from the source (Hawaii) and this put them all to shame. The gastropub atmosphere was slightly above par and they get bonus points for their top shelf Nolet gin. Sadly, I couldn't give them that elusive five stars because their service was substandard. Our seating reservation was for 8:15. There weren't that many patrons. However, it took the kitchen nearly 45 minutes to get our food out to us and the waiter would disappear for long periods of time. At 9:00 we were told "Last Call"; we didn't know that meant for food orders too so when we were finished with our meal we were unable to order dessert. Chairs were being stacked up at the tables around us while we were eating. Their intent was clear; get us out the door ASAP so they could go home. I'll be back again for their Moco Loco, but next time I'll come earlier. Hopefully, their service will have improved. read more

I love this restaurant! I'll start by saying I pretty much love any business that has any type of chandelier in it which this place does seem to have quite a few hanging around in different places. The decor of this place has a touch of a European feel to it. This place is a mix of shabby chic and elegant. It feels very inviting. The food here was awesome! I think I had the best salmon here ever! The salmon a la plancha just melts in your mouth. It's the perfect amount of flavor and spices because the vegetables it comes with are also delectable. Also if you like wine this would probably be a great place to try since wine seems to be their specialty. My husband ended up ordering the house margarita and said it was really good and their craft cocktails are worth a taste. We started off with chips and salsa, which were so good and not the usual chips and salsa. The chips were round and looked like mini tortillas and the salsa was very different in the fact that they used radishes in it. The service was great both times I went. The salmon dish was so good here I actually craved it during the week and had to come back the next weekend just to have it again! My daughter ordered their banana dessert which we all ended up taking a bite out of and of course that was also very good. There is plenty of parking in their lot and we were seated right away both times we came here. Red Table has a very relaxed vibe and this place is incredibly easy to find, its right by the Trader Joe's down here. I'm so glad my daughter's school had a fund raiser here because that is initially how we found this restaurant in the first place and now it's turning out to be a favorite dining spot. Red Table is one of my favorite lunch spots. Lots of seating room, very nice interior and atmosphere, and plenty of parking. The food and desserts are amazing. Everything on the menu is familiar, yet with their own special twist. So far I have tried a few different dishes and everything tasted great. You can tell that the chef and cooks take pride in their work and stay creative. If I wasn't on a diet, I'd venture into the rest of the menu as well. Can't wait! The only dish I didn't enjoy as much was the ahi poke. Everything was fresh, but it was too salty. Easing up on the soy sauce would help. It comes with a side of eggplant chips, which sounded interesting, except that they are fried and greasy. It would be great if less salty and less greasy. One of my favorite desserts is the tres leches cake, and it is amazing. (I can't say 'no' to this one!)The whipped cream is made from scratch, fruit topping is fresh, and vanilla sauce is delicious. This is a must-try. Their creme brule with shortcake cookie crust is also great. Nothing is overly sweet, so you enjoy the flavors and textures as well. Very satisfying. I had a real tough time locating this place, but glad I did. What drew me in was the comment about "cheap dates..." Did not know that meant dates wrapped in bacon. Awesome, though. In additon to the dates, we got the meatball sliders, Samurai fries, tomato bisque, and roasted caulifower soup. My favorites were the sliders and the tomato bisque. I could eat that all the time. For drinks, we got the Nipponia beer and a Black Market Hef. I was surprised when the bill came to find out that my Nipponia was $13 for a small glass. It was good, but not that good. Overall, I would suggest that you order the small plates and maybe the steak salad (which looked great). I read a few other reviews where people order stuff they did not like but, then again, it was not stuff that I would have ever ordered.... I enjoyed. Just follow my advice. read more

We sat at the bar and Robert was our bartender and since was my first time got some suggestions from him but we ended ordering on our own. I finally had the opportunity to see what Red Table, the hottest new restaurant in my hood, was all about. I love this place! First impression: beautiful. This place has a great design inside...it's modern but lush at the same time. There is a loungey area and bar to the right when you walk in, and the rest of the space is a combination of tables and booths. When you sit down a server brings you menus, and you walk up to the front to order your food. You can also keep your tab open if you'd like. They have a really good selection of craft brews and wines by the bottle and the glass, especially for a place where you order at a counter. They also have a huge food menu, with many appetizers, flat breads, sandwiches, salads, soups, entrees, and desserts. After much deliberation, I decided on the Cab Rose and the roast turkey sandwich. My boyfriend went with the red table burger (bacon burger), and we decided to split the triple dip appetizers (guacamole, red pepper dip, hummus, and toasted bread). All of the dips were fabulous, and they were all generous servings! My sandwich and the mister's burgers were also huge and so tastey! My rose went perfectly with the turkey. This kicks the ass of any other turkey sandwich (which usually sounds so bland) I've ever had. It reminded of my Nana's turkey soup, in sandwich form...on steroids. It also came with a dip. Yum! Went for Dinner on Friday Night. I loved the food here was a very good place and the price isn't too bad also. Food: 5/5 My family and I all got something different and tried each others food. -Salmon A La Plancha: I suggest ordering this red in the middle, that is what I did and it was amazing. The salmon melts like butter. Great flavors and great serving size. $16 -Portobello Mushroom Ravioli: The ravioli was soft and had a great consistency. The Mushroom had a light taste to it and was not overpowering at all. $18 -Grilled Shrimp Noodles: just like the ravioli the pasta was al dente and amazing. The shrimp was not over cooked and has a good taste to it. $14 -The Cheap Date: WOW.. this has got the be one of the best tasting dishes that I have ever had! Who would of thought wrapping a date with bacon with a side of mascarpone to dip would taste so good! A little bit of saltiness from the bacon and a light hint of sweetness from the date and a little creaminess from the mascarpone! There are surprisingly few good restaurants in the Huntington Harbour area (and Huntington Beach in general outside of Main Street), so we were very excited when Red Table opened. The decor and atmosphere are FABULOUS. Whoever did the decorating for this place really knew what they were doing, combining industrial, natural, and romantic elements. The background music is also swanky and cool. Overall I think it's a great place to come with friends or a date and share some wine/beer and appetizers. There's a nice bar and a great drink selection as well. The service has always been friendly and helpful. Be aware, you place your order at the register yourself. We were told by the owner that this is to provide customers with the experience of eating and drinking at their leisure without pressure from servers. It's an interesting concept, but I'm not sure how it will work out in the long run. Servers still bring the food to your table and provide water and drinks, so tipping can sometimes be a little confusing (5% is added automatically to the bill, but we usually include a little more for personal service). As far as the food goes, we have consistently enjoyed everything we've ordered. I am posting a picture of the bowl of soup that I ordered yesterday. I take my soups very seriously and I HATE when a "bowl" is smaller than a teacup. You never know what you find in a strip mall..lucky you're in for a treat here @ RT..a trendy spot in an otherwise quiet corner of HB.. Menu is varied with fried Brussels sprouts $12 and lobster mac n cheese. $32 Or a nice T-bone steak..&36 I'm partial to the Malbec by the glass $10 or the bottle $36- Tinto negro, reserva. The bar menu is very good as well. With the basic burger n house fries. Or short ribs and salmon medallions.. I do think that they try too hard. Else I'd give them the 5th star..
