I finally had the opportunity to see what Red Table, the hottest new restaurant in my hood, was all about. I love this place! First impression: beautiful. This place has a great design inside...it's modern but lush at the same time. There is a loungey area and bar to the right when you walk in, and the rest of the space is a combination of tables and booths. When you sit down a server brings you menus, and you walk up to the front to order your food. You can also keep your tab open if you'd like. They have a really good selection of craft brews and wines by the bottle and the glass, especially for a place where you order at a counter. They also have a huge food menu, with many appetizers, flat breads, sandwiches, salads, soups, entrees, and desserts. After much deliberation, I decided on the Cab Rose and the roast turkey sandwich. My boyfriend went with the red table burger (bacon burger), and we decided to split the triple dip appetizers (guacamole, red pepper dip, hummus, and toasted bread). All of the dips were fabulous, and they were all generous servings! My sandwich and the mister's burgers were also huge and so tastey! My rose went perfectly with the turkey. This kicks the ass of any other turkey sandwich (which usually sounds so bland) I've ever had. It reminded of my Nana's turkey soup, in sandwich form...on steroids. It also came with a dip. Yum! Went for Dinner on Friday Night. I loved the food here was a very good place and the price isn't too bad also. Food: 5/5 My family and I all got something different and tried each others food. -Salmon A La Plancha: I suggest ordering this red in the middle, that is what I did and it was amazing. The salmon melts like butter. Great flavors and great serving size. $16 -Portobello Mushroom Ravioli: The ravioli was soft and had a great consistency. The Mushroom had a light taste to it and was not overpowering at all. $18 -Grilled Shrimp Noodles: just like the ravioli the pasta was al dente and amazing. The shrimp was not over cooked and has a good taste to it. $14 -The Cheap Date: WOW.. this has got the be one of the best tasting dishes that I have ever had! Who would of thought wrapping a date with bacon with a side of mascarpone to dip would taste so good! A little bit of saltiness from the bacon and a light hint of sweetness from the date and a little creaminess from the mascarpone! There are surprisingly few good restaurants in the Huntington Harbour area (and Huntington Beach in general outside of Main Street), so we were very excited when Red Table opened. The decor and atmosphere are FABULOUS. Whoever did the decorating for this place really knew what they were doing, combining industrial, natural, and romantic elements. The background music is also swanky and cool. Overall I think it's a great place to come with friends or a date and share some wine/beer and appetizers. There's a nice bar and a great drink selection as well. The service has always been friendly and helpful. Be aware, you place your order at the register yourself. We were told by the owner that this is to provide customers with the experience of eating and drinking at their leisure without pressure from servers. It's an interesting concept, but I'm not sure how it will work out in the long run. Servers still bring the food to your table and provide water and drinks, so tipping can sometimes be a little confusing (5% is added automatically to the bill, but we usually include a little more for personal service). As far as the food goes, we have consistently enjoyed everything we've ordered. I am posting a picture of the bowl of soup that I ordered yesterday. Menu is varied with fried Brussels sprouts $12 and lobster mac n cheese. $32 Or a nice T-bone steak..&36 I'm partial to the Malbec by the glass $10 or the bottle $36- Tinto negro, reserva. What a treat! I really enjoyed the look, feel, food, and drink of Red Table. The menu offerings are extremely diverse. The group started with the "Cheap Dates". (I really liked the bacon wrapped dates with the side of cream cheese and sprinkled paprika). We then moved onto mains that we all shared (which is the norm here) We tried the Dynamite Spicy Tostadas (the flavors all blended well and the crunch added the perfect amount of texture). Our next dish was the Osso Bucco Ravioli (It was just okay - The raviolis were prepared perfectly but the flavor and sauce was missing something) and then the star of the night was the Pork Shank Carnitas (The presentation was excellent and the homemade corn tortillas on the side were warm and very good. The only improvement I would make would be to amp up the sauce on the side with some additional spice.) We went with wine by the glass for our meal but they had an excellent selection of beer on tap. I first found this restaurant through my clients while designing their Huntington Harbour home. Industrial chic design located in a forgotten corner of a Trader Joe's strip mall, Red Table's got every element of a trendy/hipster dining establishment: Tufted banquettes, distressed wood tables, and plenty of pretty long-limbed PCH locals for days. Red Table is a total gem of a find, especially in these surf-and-sand parts where typical bar/restaurant concepts cater to t-shirts and sandals. Thank god someone's paying attention to us burgeoning suburban yuppies ;D Here's what's on the menu today my loves: BOMB.COM Grilled Pork Belly (just as I promised last week!!!) served with soy vinegar, pickled ginger and herb spice. The crispiest, crunchiest most savory pork belly in ALL of the land! One bite into the crackling layer of fat and you'll wish you were instantly transported to hog heaven! Such a relieving respite from all the poor man's bacon I've been drowning in at last week's venue seen HERE. This is high class hog at its finest- FOREALS loves! Would I ever steer you wrong?? Roasted Beets with peppered feta, oil, vinegar, and micro greens. The more I eat beets, the more I crave it during meals. I love the mix of red and golden varieties, a bit of tart, a bit of sweet and tempered with the punch of spicy feta. A feast for all your vegetarian senses! Barbacoa slow-cooked beef tacos with micro greens and fire roasted salsa. Heavy-handed sauce makes for soggy tacos. The secret sauce tastes just like Peruvian Aji Verde green chili sauce that they serve to spread on bread. So dang delish especially with that spicy kick that lingers for days.... Tahini Chicken Salad with romaine hearts, cracked wheat, parsley, tomato, onion, and tahini dressing. My first dish ever at Red Table for lunch and this salad alone had me begging for more scrumptious eats from the chef. Light and refreshing, I love my salads stocked with high protein. Savory and sophisticated, the tahini is really the star with its nutty flavors and creamy texture. AMAZEBALLZ!!! Grilled Prawn flatbread with crushed sweet tomatoes, green onions, and fresh cheese in a spicy red sauce. My least favorite dish of the night. Blah and bland, the prawns tasted like they were blanched not grilled. Completely lackluster sauce on soggy bread- pass! Winemaker Burger with ground steak, shaved sweet onion, arugula, bacon, and aged cheddar. Just lookather: I'm sorry but Slaters could use a clue! They had me at aged cheddar: sharp and scrumptious, melted perfection! My burger pet peeve: solid cheese slices even after the mix- ugh!!! Not your Mom's Deviled Eggs with spicy tomato sauce. I'm NOT a fan of deviled eggs since I prefer my eggs without the yolk, but their version is quite interesting with all the different textures involved. Soft on the outside with crispy bacon bits for added crunch, I'd take a mental note of all the components and try serving this dish for my next potluck. Salmon a la Plancha- whole grain mustard vinaigrette with seasonal vegetables, fingerling potatoes, and chives. Perfectly pink-centered salmon with a gorgeous presentation to boot. I'm a mustard freak and can never resist a good vinaigrette reduction. Tangy with a tint of soy, the sauce results of a very skilled hand. Seafood medley stew with halibut fish balls, mussels, and clams with fresh arugula in a spicy Mediterranean tomato soup base. Have you ever seen anything like it??? Almost like a cross between French bouillabaisse and Matzo ball soup, the packed halibut spheres are dense and flavorful; not the best looking ball on the block but tastes better than it looks so I'm a fan! *Insider's tip: Red Table's gastrobar concept features domestic and international craft beers, exotic wines, and imported soju. Don't expect to come finding a fully stocked bar, as they have yet to obtain a liquor license, nor do they plan to. I love that Chef Louie Jocson's held onto some of his Asian roots as a handful of specialty dishes feature such exotic touches of soy and miso, ginger and wasabi. The food is Not good. The prices are outrageous. I've eaten here three times and always had great service, however the chilaquiles, Western burger, Winemaker burger, and multiple orders of fries, SUCKed. I won't be going back for a 11$ beer, 9$ microwave fries, or a sub par burger. read more

I've returned after a break and was pleased by the consitancy of the food quality. There were few changes if any on the the menu. We ordered the Poke with Eggplant Chips, Tuna Sashimi Ceviche, and a couple orders of Stooopid Fries for the table. I ordered the Potato Leek Soup, cup size which was tasty but quite heavy and the Chicken Tahini salad. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of this salad. I've ordered the Seared Tuna salad in the past before and was still hungry afterwards. On my last review of Red Table I rated it 4. That was based on my experience at the Grand Opening. Food and service were really great. We have since visited two more times. Once we dined in the restaurant and once we ordered to go. Dining In Experience #2: I noticed that several people were not being greeted at the door and were confused as to where to sit and how to get a menu, let alone how to order. A few sat down and waited then just got up and left. I ordered the steak sandwich and my husband ordered the Red Table Burger. My sandwich was delivered to our table 10 minutes prior to my husband's burger. I had to go to the cashier area and ask where the burger was! The server tried to explain to me that burgers take longer. Gee thanks for that cooking 101 lesson. That's why you hold off on creating the steak sandwich until the burger is just about ready to go, right?? That said neither sandwich was anything special. Take Out Experience: Okay, we decided to try the place again. We ordered The Crush flat bread (which we LOVED on our first visit), the Parma Flat bread and Red Table Greens salad. The flat breads were just not as good as the first time and the salad was supposed to include carrot ribbons along with the shaved fennel and diced tomatoes. The carrot was missing in action and the salad was over dressed to the point of limpness. We felt like we had thrown our $28 out the window. We really wanted to love this place. We can walk to it, the ambiance is great, the craft beer and wine selection is fun and the food and service were great night one. I knew it existed... A 5 star meal here was inevitable. I came in for lunch last week, sat at the bar and ordered the winemakers burger and fries. I typically don't order burgers, but it looked interesting. After a short wait, the bartender delivered the massive burger. WOW... Just seeing it for the first time, I knew I was going to love it. It was perfectly cooked, juicy and delicious. I would have to say that this burger is definitely in my top 3. And at $13 (fries are separate) it was lest than half the price, and of equal quality of my number 1 favorite burger ever... I was so eager to try this new place in our neighborhood. We have been in desperate need of a restaurant in our area and I think Red Table fits the bill quite nicely. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the ordering at the counter in the back. There is a complete waitstaff, so it just didn't make sense to me and we sat at our table not knowing what to do or how to order for a good 20 minutes before someone explained it to us. It seems like too nice of a restaurant to have counter ordering IMHO. The decor is gorgeous. I love it. So fun and eclectic! This is a great date night spot. Portions are so large they are easily shared. The food was very good. The Bollywood fries are scrumptious with a dipping sauce that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I love it when you find a place that has all the right pieces put together. This place is no exception. Good food. Good service. Good vibes. Good Mood. I read an article on the OC Register about this place and Chef Louie Jocson. I saw the reviews and I had to try it for myself. The location is definitely in an area where you would not expect a good gastrobar to be at. Even the location of this in the small plaza is a bit hidden. But nonetheless, it was filled with people on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. The decor was modern but with asian influence. So I will start with appetizers. The Grilled Pork belly was AMAZING! The Pork Belly was cooked to perfection with that crisp as a crust along with the skin. It reminds me of filipino bbq when we go camping, Liempo! At first thought this is going to be very potent with the soy vinegar sauce that the pork belly was in but no it was not. It gave the pork piece that nice kick but the pork belly was not cooked in that sauce. So the meat still had the sweetness and balanced off the tanginess of the soy vinegar sauce. The mango salsa it was topped with was a complement giving the dish dimension. Ordered two fries. The Red Table fries and the Bollywood Fries. The Red Table fries was heavily seasoned where the Bollywood was more batter driven along with the dipping sauce. If I had to pick, I was very pleased by the Red Table fries with basic organic ketchup. The special for the day was the Loco Moco. That is one crazy dish. Hats off to Chef Louie for putting this concoction together. You have a bed of rice with pork belly bits. Gourmet burger patty. Braised beef drenched in gravy sauce then topped with two soft boiled eggs. It was bliss. Definitely a success as a comfort food. The pork belly rice was no overwhelming and the braised beef tasted like high quality corned beef. I liked that it was not overly done with the sauce. So it still had a good balance is your are still able to taste the individual components such as the burger patty how the texture of that was evident compared to the shreds of beef. To end the night... I had to try this Cupcake in a cup. So we ordered one of the red velvet cupcakes. Their cupcake was mind blowing. The warm out of the over effect that cup has made it a memorable treat. This is by far the best red velvet cupcake that I have had the pleasure of devouring. The texture was soft with a hint of moist smoothness but there was something that I could not explain, as if it had a graininess where you can play with it a bit in on your tongue. The cake itself was just the right level of sweetness paired up with their cream cheese frosting and the cream frosting. We booked a reservation over a week ago for a birthday party, confirmed the day before, and with the Red Table staff 2 hours before our reservation time when they called. We we arrived at 7pm for our reservation and they said they were full and could not seat us. Worse than that, they did not even try to help us or talk with us about it other than saying "sorry" as they watched us call other restaurants to see if anyone could take us. After standing outside for about 25 minutes, we ended up leaving for the Corner, where we spent over $1,000. Red Table lost a very large tab tonight and a regular customer. Before tonight, we went there all the time. Now we will never be back after being treated so poorly. read more

4.5 stars! The Red Table is a welcome addition to the Huntington Beach dining scene. Though brand new to the area, the good word appears to be spreading like wildfire and it's very well deserved. I visited with my sister-in-law. My first visit - her third. We split a few apps including the Parma Flat Bread, the Cheap Dates (dates wrapped in bacon and served with mascarpone cheese on the side), the Albacore Ceviche and the Bollywood Fries. Usually you select your items, order from a counter at the rear of the restaurant and the servers will deliver your food, though it was quiet when we dined so the servers took our order. Everything was bursting with flavor! The dates tasted like dessert, the ceviche was so fresh and light, the flat bread was hearty and tasty but for me the standout was the fries. Perfectly cooked to be slightly crispy on the outside yet fluffy inside and served with chutney/curry that has an unmistakably unique and addictive flavor. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are too. The decor is trendy, tasteful and very interesting at the same time. They offer a wide variety of beers & ales as well as a quality selection of wines. They even offer a free kids meal of noodles and cheese. Due to the nature of the ordering process, they do add a 5% gratuity to your check, so you can be prepared to do a little math when you add to the tip, but the servers & staff are so helpful and pleasant that it's worth it. read more

Neighborhood gem! Love the rustic ambiance and friendly staff. We feel so fortunate to be within walking distance to the Red Table. We have yet to try a dish that we have not liked. We are hooked on the Cheap Dates and the Red Velvet Cupcake. Mmmmm warm yummy cupcake... You can taste the freshness of the ingredients in evert mouthwatering bite that is so satisfying. Chef Louie has an amazing talent and pallet and we are so fortunate that he chose the Huntington Harbor location to establish is restaurant. Occasionally they have Community Mondays where they give part of the guest bills to support a local organization. This is our favorite night to go. We do miss the Trust Me Tuesdays where we can order a dish for two that is chefs choice. Our friend Clint talked about this place non-stop. We happened to have a free day and to be in the area so we thought we would try it. The decor and menu was totally different then what I thought it was going to be. It's really cool inside, a lot of different looks going on but fun. Think gourmet everything...and the prices were pretty up there, again another surprise...here's what we tried: Duvel($9)- Very smooth, light beer...served in a fancy glass and with a good inch of head(stop thinking dirty thoughts)at the top where the rest of my beer should be. Very good but $9 for one beer seems silly. Fresh Pickles($5)- Uncooked, fresh pickles...lots of red chili flake, light brine. Very good snack, good price. Deviled Eggs($7)- 5 pieces total atop a spicy tomato sauce, creamy filling with crispy bacon and chives...MY FAVORITE DEVILED EGG EVER. Good and salty! Steak Sandwich($12)- the BF and I split this...high quality cheese was the first impression, good steak, yummy caramelized onions and rosemary scented au jus- really enjoyed this!! The sandwich is on a 12" bun so definitely a good item to share! $45 later, this was the perfect size meal for 2 and we are pigs. We were very satisfied and full! They have a bunch of great stuff from salads, soups($8 bowl, ouch) and burgers($15) for lunch but $40 for Mac'n'Cheese topped with Lobster Tails on a lunch menu?? $38 Ribeye(the thought of this had me drooling) Filet Medallions, $45? I dunno, maybe save all that jazz for a separate dinner menu? Its just daunting to look at. Anywho...this place could definitely be fun at night, offering a lot of ambiance. And I love the idea of coming here for a couple of good beers and the interesting starters they have. Would have to be a "splurge" sort of night and a drive, just not in our neighborhood. I was so excited to try this place since I heard good things about it. I would definitely recommend the ahi poke tacos because they tasted delicious. It was so refreshing to have the radish paper used, and the sauce tasted delicious! The shrimp ceviche was ok. I thought the shrimp was very done, but my family did enjoy it. Best gastropub in the Huntington Harbour area - Period ! I especially like their deep fried eggplant chips with ahi poke. The tuna they use is very high quality and the eggplant is lightly seasoned and crispy enough to hold the poke on top like it's salsa. Everything I've tried here has been delicious. I'm glad it survived the pandemic. I used to come and eat outside on the patio when we weren't allowed to dine indoors hoping that their doors wouldn't shut. Love to support excellent local businesses and this is definitely one of them ! read more

Our first time here and we were happy to discover that everything on the menu was terrific. We ordered a lot of food: winemaker burger, steak sandwich, cheap dates (bacon wrapped dates), ahi poke tacos, and samurai fries. We would highly recommend to anybody in trying everything. They even had a nice drink menu where we ordered a "valiente," a smoky agave. We'll definitely be back. read more

Cool atmosphere but I was not super impressed with the food. It looks good but tastes a little bland. We ordered the winemaker burger, dates, and southern fries. They were all just ok. The beer selection was good though. I'd give it a 3.5. Waitress was nice. Nice for a first time but I'll probably go to a diff gastro pub next time. read more

Bf got me take out from here & it was very disappointing. I've dined here when they first opened and remembered them having tasty but overpriced food. I also remembered them having decent quality food. Today on the other hand was skimpy & not at all satisfying. My first impression after opening my lunch was that it looked like it had been partially eaten. The large container was only 1/4 filled. Also, I always specifically order my salad dressing on the side to prevent soggy greens and the geniuses decided that it was best to dress the salad. The highlight of the salad, the salmon, was a let down. It came with tiny, salty, & dry crumbs of fish. The salad came with about 1.5oz of salmon of which I had to compliment with a protein shake to make up for the protein deficit. The only thing I enjoyed was the taste of the extra salad dressing they put on the side. Highly unlikely I will return on my own accord. read more

Great find in Huntington Beach. Amazing food and very friendly staff!! My fiend and I stumbled across the restaurant. We had had the crab cakes and they were wonderful! I loved the homemade tarter sauce they served with the crab cakes. The chopped salad was wonderful. The blue cheese vinaigrette was so yummy I wanted to kick the plate. It is plenty for two people. For desert we had the homemake bread pudding made with apples!! I can not wait to go there again! read more

This place is truly delightful. It has a very chill vibe, super cool bar, nice atmosphere, and very lovely menu selections. Deep within the Huntington Beach Mall, far behind the tasty Trader Joe's, as far back as the distant Vegilicious, lies the Red Table Restaurant..(s?). Hard to find during the day because of its secluded location, and even harder to find at night because of its lack of proper lighting, RTR is a restaurant where true wine savvy foodies can come enjoy tasty pork bellies and fancy wines. Or in my case, it's a place that my sister had heard of and dragged us along too. "Dragged" may be too strong of a word though since I am always down to try new restaurants, especially ones that are within post-meal rolling distance. The food was the star of the night, as it always should be. I had the pork belly, bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich (PBBLT) and although it was very very good, I have to say that it was a little too much pork in one sandwich for me (don't smite me, bacon gods!). Really though, maybe it's just me but compared to the burgers that I sampled from my sister's and my dad's plates, the PBBLT was a much saltier. Maybe that could be fixed with adding more arugula though, not by taking out any bacon or pork belly (that's blasphemous). We also ordered the pork belly appetizer dish with the sweetish pickled red onions(?) so maybe I was pork bellied out at that point. The sweet potato fries with bacon aioli were tasty, but nothing that I haven't had at other gourmet burger joints. The burgers are a solid choice, but there are many other items on the menu, like the seafood, that looked tasty too. One criticism I'd have for RTR is that it's a too dark in the restaurant at night, so you can't really see what you're eating and you can't take decent pictures for yelp.. read more
