Coffee was okay but coffeemate in the table may have been bad. Service was decent. But not all folks in our group were happy with their meals...I think mostly due to the sausage in the breakfast burrito and omelette appeared to be Italian sausage instead of the breakfast sausage which I got with my breakfast. read more

12.16.25: Came in to have late lunch/early dinner. There was no wait and we were sat immediately at a booth. It wasn't packed but a good amount of tables were seated. Ambiance was pretty quiet. I believe Tiffany? was our server and she did a great job checking on us and any requests we had, ie: extra napkins, lemons, water. Today I ordered a Berry salad, which is a risk since berries are not in season anymore. I'm not sure where they get their strawberries, but they were amazingly sweet! I was completely satisfied with choice. Oh and my huckleberry lemonade seemed extra tasty today too. This was our first time here in a while. We recently moved back and were excited to see some of the changes. When we walked in we loved the addition of the grill that offered quick food at a decent price, along with fresh items like salad and fruit cups. We decided to go to the Redtail as the last time we were there it was really good. This experience was a little different. We noticed the menu had been paired down and the Club sandwich I was hoping for wasn't on the menu. I decided to get the cheeseburger at it seemed like a safe choice. It came with lettuce, tomato, pickels, with a side of tots. My husband ordered the Smoke house. This came with onion rings, bbq sauce, bacon, and a side of tots. The food took about 20 minutes to come out and everything was hot. My cheese burger looked great. There were so many veggies and I loved the tots were extra crisp. As for the burger, this was a die formed patty so it was very dense. Also, it was cooked to WELL so it was dry and tough. As for my husband's burger, it was served Med Well so it still had a little more moisture when served. He said the flavor was there and it was seasoned well. He also appreciated the extra crispy tots but didn't think it was worth $20.00. Next time, we look forward to trying out the Huckleberry Grill. read more

Overall a decent place to eat. The broccoli with my ribeye steak was to die for. Cooked perfectly. My loaded potatoe was not so great. It was hard and undercooked. I even had the waiter warm it up for me and it was still luke warm and hard. Like you had to smash it down with your fork to have it soft baked potato. But I like the way the chefs put some char in the ribeye steak. The salad they serve with your entree is old school like and the thousand island dressing was the bomb.. it had a great garlicky taste to it that was delicious. We agree with all the good reviews for this place. This was our third dinner here, and like other visits we loved every bite. You get a very fair amount, and the prices are not outlandish. I went off my grid and had their Philly Wrap, and will have this again! Really beefy, but it was lighter with the wrap instead of a large roll. That allowed me to sample Hubby's breaded fish filets, and they were excellent, flakey and not greasy at all. Friday Clam Chowder offering had nice chunks of clam in it. Friday night my boyfriend and I wanted to grab a burger and then check out the casino. We waited to be seated and it took a while, some employees noticed us standing but wouldn't come check us in. We almost ended up seating at the bar but Finally a waiter came up and set us down.. (she ended up not being our waiter) Once we got seated Gabby' our waiter was very polite and took out order. Our order came out and I had add for extra pickles on my burger. And they did just that. The fries are really good here and the burger was perfect.. my boyfriend has ordered the mushroom burger with coleslaw, but he ended up with fries and gabby brought him the coleslaw right away. Loved how they were slightly off the gambling floor, and their ventilation system was amazing--having folks smoking within a few yards of the dining area. And the set-up was really comfortable, with Western motifs and a strong lean to sports bar atmosphere. We ordered off the Appetizers menu, and got far more than we expected. Chips and Queso were just that, but their wings were kitty-cat massive, and their Navajo Taco was pretty darned robust, with Buffalo Chili as the focus. Flavors were fine on everything. This isn't the first time service has been snail slow but usually it's no big deal, but took some friends from out of state and we ate there and it took an hour to get our food. The service was horrible and the tortilla with the fajitas were frisbees. The cheese on the chimichanga was a gross blob! I would never bring a guest here to eat again. We ate there on Sunday. This was a great spot for us to stop in for a late lunch. The service was great and the food was good. It came really quick and was hot. We started off with a chicken wing appetizer and queso and chips. I had the BLT sandwich. It had so much bacon on it ! Husband ordered the jalapeño burger. Friendly staff, excellent stew, but don't get the fry bread. It was a lump of dense dough deep fried. Literally FRIED BREAD, It was so disgusting, like a sponge of grease. It wasn't anything close to traditional fry bread which is a true shame. read more

There's a beautiful river rock fireplace that makes this area feel like a ski lodge. It's all very clean and bright. We were seated right away and given menus. I ordered a half Chef's salad and it was good, but pretty standard. I asked the server for extra blue cheese and they added it, as you can see from the pic. My friend ordered the fish tacos and initially thought there was too much food but she ended up eating it all. She thought they were really good and liked the Sriracha cream addition. We tried the Frank's Omelet Bar on Sunday(inside Red Tail Bar and Grill). For $14 per person is a bargain. We both got an omelet to order with many toppings, Eggs Benedict, hash brown patties, sausage(wife got bacon) and orange juice. Look at prices on regular menu and you can see value in Frank's Omelet bar. Everything tasted great. I just didn't get picture of the finished omelet but it tasted great. read more

We were in town for our niece's wedding. For our Friday night dinner(wedding on Saturday), we had a large party of family coming into town. We wanted space big enough to be able to talk to each other and be a little further away from the other tables in the restaurant. I called a few weeks ago and they told me they would reserve their back room. I called again just a few days ago to reconfirm. Leilani called me back promptly. The table was set and ready to go when we walked in. We ordered individually with Kamryn(sp?) and had a great meal. Huge portions, delicious ingredients and friendly fast service. Also great drinks. I just spent the night at this casino with a friend, and we had breakfast in the Red Tail restaurant. We visited the omelet bar, ate breakfast, and prepared to pay and leave. Neither of us ate all of our omelets, as they are large. We are both watching our weight, and would have enjoyed the other half of the food later, but were told that we could NOT take our leftovers in a container because other people abuse the 2nd and 3rd trip back to the buffet. We had made just one trip. The waiter took my plate and threw away the food I paid for. How is this a good policy? That was the food that I spent my money on. And I was shocked and outraged that this establishment would rather throw it away and be wasteful than allow me to take that food with me. If this is their only solution to people abusing the buffet, they aren't thinking very clearly. Perhaps a one-trip policy, or you pay more for a second trip, would be more reasonable? I'm outraged. If I hadn't been so shocked, I would have refused the hand over my meal. You folks need to reconsider this ill-conceived idea. I won't be back. read more

Casino area is fine. Wouldn't suggest eating here though. We found beetles, still alive, in the salad. Our server just picked it up when we pointed this out and brought us another salad. Seemly the same salad from the same lettuce that had beetles before. No discounts were given, nor did they attempt to explain or apologize. This was at the red tail. The 4 stars come from averaging the two parts of this review. We give 3 for the food and 5 for the service. We showed up at the restaurant, asked to get on the list. "Umm, yes sir, an hour to an hour half wait." Our group got seated with 15 minutes to spare. Friday evening, 6:30 p.m. arrival, I should have thought to call ahead. So it goes. Our group had a mad mix of the beef stew, ribeyes, wraps, etc. The ribeyes were delivered without the savory, delicious, tender caps. The steaks were alright but not quite mouth-watering perfection. The sear was there, yes, but not so much the flavor. I don't know that I'll try that again. The beef stew was very tasty. The wrap sandwich was bland and not so very eye-appealing. So, yeah, 3 stars for the food. Maybe we should get to the really great part? Yep, good idea! WHEN you go, BE SURE to ask for a table with Havalah! She totally rocked the service part of our table. She knew her menu in great detail and had helpful information and recommendations. Beverage service and refills? She was on them before we could raise a hand or try to make eye contact. She was always close enough to check on us through all her comings and goings for her tables. Her service was attentive and thorough, and her personality was gregarious and uplifting. She had that style that reminds of your best friend. It was THE BEST PART of the entire visit. If you're going to go here, find a menu item that suits you and it will all be OK. Red Tail is one of the very few eating establishments at the Coeur d'Alene casino, so due to limited choices we've been there many times. It's quite a small menu so we've had some of the dishes repeatedly. Regulars will notice that dishes are made VERY differently each time. Service isn't a priority to them. Once we were told there would be an hour wait for a table, and after an hour and 45 minutes we asked how much longer it would be. They looked through their list and told us they somehow skipped our name and would seat us. Problem was, it was now 15 minutes until closing. There are a few places to eat here in the casino. This place seemed a bit more interesting than the others (several flat screens for viewing sporting events). Since we weren't looking to stuff our faces at the buffet, this was great, although not a lot of choices for tables if you have a big group (7 of us). I had the fish and chips, but sans chips. Coleslaw, instead. What was I thinking? My mom had the pulled pork tacos. After taking one look at her plate, I was jealous because I had planned to order those but changed at the last minute! The fish comes as three hearty pieces of cod, which are quite good (I did have to ask for malt vinegar), but those tacos, hmmm, they smelled and looked so good, and although my mom offered me some, I let her devour them. We have been going to this restaurant for a # of years. Our family would meet there after going to the Cemetery in Worley on Memorial weekend. Our family goes back to the home steading before Worley was a town. The waitress was from hell, she snapped at us and was utterly rude after getting our dipping sauce wrong in the kitchen. Never came back to our table after snapping at us for their mistake except to bring the check. Food is faltering as well. We were here for restaurant week, and overall it was just OK... Here are the details of our dinner: The service was overwhelmingly lacking. The waitress assigned to our table moved at a snails pace. We served ourselves our own waters from the beverage station. She did not check in with regularly. She seemed to be very distracted and unable to follow through. She actually came to the table at one point during the dinner she asked us if we were ok for 5 minutes because she was going on break. They left dirty dishes ok the table upon delivery of our next course. Overall I would say the food was great, but our waitstaff was horrible. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant based on the sheer laziness and general lack of customer service by this team. read more

Decided to eat at this restaurant for my mothers birthday tonight, only a small table of 4. It was steady but not busy. We were not greeted by our server, nor provided any silverware until after food was brought to our table and my mom had to get up and ask the bartender for it. My brothers tater tots were cold, but he's not the type to mention it. Once it was time to ask for boxes, our server proceeded to complain about people coming in so late and it was very awkward and uncomfortable. That was the only conversation she bothered to have with us. Upon leaving, my brother noticed he was double charged. Have been to Red Tail for drinks and appetizers before....this time we met a group of friends for dinner while at the CDA Casino. Service is great...drinks are poured generously. The menu is pub/bar food with sandwiches, burgers, wings and appetizers. Was not impressed with the Hot Buffalo Chicken Flatbread...was not hot or spicy, almost tasteless and way too much cheese - and I love cheese! Other plates at the table were the Western Burger, Philly Cheese Steak and the Rueben, which was huge! All plates were mediocre at best taste wise. Fries came out late, and the tots tasted oily/greasy. Prices are decent.....but overall was hoping for a tastier experience. read more

It's casino food . That's the best I can give it. I personally had the ribeye and the baked potato along with the chocolate cake .. I'll start with the pros . The cake was absolutely delicious and I'll definitely get it next time. However the baked potato was decent and the bacon had a good flavor , but nothing special . The steak , for 22 dollars I was expecting at least a good steak. However it ended between meh and ok. It was overcooked and wasn't very enjoyable , but I still ate it because I was hungry . (Note) this was take out and I did not eat it in the restaurant .. so I cannot judge the service or the mood. However they charged us for the cake and it was not there when I opened it ... we got everything worked out about it and they were nice about it. read more
