My friend and I met up for dinner on NYE. I saw that Red Wasabi was open so we met there. The inside is very spacious and has space for different sized parties. My friend and I were both going to get a roll, hand roll, and some nigiris. I saw that they had a Love Boat which included a rainbow roll, a crunch roll, a California hand roll, a spicy tuna roll, and several nigiris. The boat arrived about 10-12 minutes later. The presentation was nice! The fish tasted fresh. The portions of fish on the nigiri were generous. I definitely recommend trying the boat if there's at least a couple of people eating. Overall, good food and good customer service! Give this restaurant a try if you're in the mood for some sushi! read more

I stopped by Red Wasabi in Covina for the AYCE sushi, and overall, it was a pretty pleasant experience. I'll start with the positives: parking was super easy, which is always a plus in this area. I thought the tuna was really good, definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the fish quality was a bit hit-or-miss for me. Some of it was great, but a few pieces tasted very fishy. My group didn't feel great after eating there, so I'm not totally sure which item caused the stomach upset, but it's worth noting. My other main gripe is the rice ratio. The rolls are huge and the rice is a bit heavy, which fills you up way too fast. Since each roll is about 10 pieces and they don't offer half-rolls, I felt like I was "done" after only 2 or 3 rolls. I'd probably go back for the tuna and the convenience, but I'll definitely be more selective about what I order next time! read more

This was one of my favorite AYCE sushi spots for a while but my daughter and I came in on Wednesday and we were very disappointed. I usually ask for chili oil which I know is not traditional for sushi but I've gotten it from here in the past but they said no it's not available pretty stern and I didn't want to argue. Also on the mussels and other items they absolutely drenched with sauce which was not very tasty to us. We received salmon pieces which are good sized so no complaints on that but they were slightly frozen so that was not very pleasant. This place is a must visit if you like high quality all you can eat sushi at a reasonable price. It is located where my old favorite AYCE place used to be years ago in a strip mall off Grand right by the 10 freeway. The restaurant has been beautifully decorated in what I would call Japanese pop art, although I'm sure that's not the correct name for it. We tried several different rolls, including the red wasabi roll, the spicy lobster roll, and the mango avocado roll. All of them were delicious. The fish was fresh, there was just the right balance of rice .I highly recommend the mango avocado roll. It is a breath of fresh air for your mouth! The service is great too, our server Isobella was very helpful in helping us choose a plum sake to go with our meal. We finished up with some green tea ce cream. I will definitely be back. read more

A La carte or AYCE. It's alllll good. AYCE is one of the higher price points in the area but you get what you pay for. My go to: spicy scallop hand roll or the spicy albacore hand roll, then seared albacore sushi. Service is always extremely helpful and friendly. Expect to wait , plates don't come out too fast. Place is very clean, restrooms just as clean, which I was impressed by for a sushi restaurant (they're typically never cleaned) This is was our second visit and we have always left satisfied. read more

We came here for the all you can eat sushi. However, our experience wasn't what we expected. The server was very sweet, but the quality of the sushi, especially the raw fish, was not fresh. If you came just for their vegetable and unagi hand rolls or there regular rolls like spider roll or Philadelphia roll, the quality is okay. Unfortunately, we wouldn't come back again I wouldn't recommend a place for those looking for fresh sushi. read more

Service here is PHENOMENAL; all staff greeted, attended and checked up on us very frequently! I never had an empty glass of water, had all the condiments replenished and was even offered a complimentary green tea ice cream (de-lish) :D Food was SUPER tasty! I ordered the 3-Item House Combo Plate--Gyoza, Spicy Tuna Roll, & Beef Teriyaki. It even came with a salad & miso soup! For just $20.99, I view that as a WIN! ^.^ The STAR of the plate was the Beef Teriyaki, my goodness, it was delectable & SAVORY! The miso soup was the runner up; BEST miso base I've ever tasted! If happiness had a flavor, I'm pretty sure it would taste like Red Wasabi Sushi. Came in hungry, left questioning if I've ever truly appreciated sushi before this moment. Every roll was fresh, flavorful, and dangerously addictive -- like "we should probably order one more... okay two more... alright last one for real" kind of good. But let's talk about Lucas -- the real MVP. This guy didn't just serve food, he served an experience. Attentive without hovering, funny without trying too hard, and somehow always showing up right when we needed something (I'm convinced he has ninja-level awareness). He made us feel like VIPs instead of just another table. I've been to a lot of sushi spots across the state, and this is easily the best I've had. The quality stands out right away- the fish tastes clean, fresh, and well handled. My husband and I came to Red Wasabi for the first time for an early dinner at around 3p this afternoon and we are SO happy we did! The second we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff and we loved the cool art on the walls! Great vibes here and cozy seating. Shoutout to our server, Lucas, who was incredibly attentive, kind, and very helpful with suggesting menu items for us to try! Also, I loved that he gave me and my husband our own separate wasabi/gingers! That's never happened to us before at a sushi spot and I loved that additional touch, because we usually always have to ask for more. It's the little things, am I right? The food was delicious and flavor-filled! Since our favorite local sushi spot closed down, we've been on the hunt for a new spot and let me tell ya, there are so many trendy looking spots out there with imposter sushi rolls! They look beautiful but have ZERO FLAVOR! But that doesn't exist here! :) We ordered the seaweed salad, gyoza, dynamite roll, dragon roll, and the Viking roll and everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and yummy until the last BITE! I'm going to give this place five stars because they were incredibly accommodating with me asking for no rice on a roll. I said they don't even have to make it pretty but they still did. Tastes great and they did a really good job. I'll definitely be coming back. This might be my new go to if they can be that accommodating with the rolls. The walls are really awesome. I'm glad that we tried this new sushi place coz they did not disappoint. Everything was up to our standards. Clean, very friendly staff, plenty of tables good for groups and elbow space, awesome ambiance, parking was an ease and to top all that, presentation and food were flavorable. Not too much sauce on the sushi. Fast service and all the staff were helping each other. We had Lizzy and was very helpful. The menu list was easy to order from. We got there early and was the first customers so we got some complimentary dishes and drinks which were recommended to us and we're delicious. All their dishes were delicious, we ordered 9 dishes and left the joint so satisfied. One more good thing about this joint was everyone wore a smile and constantly checking on us. We were pampered! I have eaten here 2x with family already and it never disappoints!! Such a wide variety of yummy rolls and bento box combinations! The AYCE is more affordable than other sushi spots around or they either don't even have AYCE at all...so Red Wasabi Sushi is def my new go to AYCE spot. The servers i've had are always so nice and attentive. The owners are very kind and amazing people and have made the place such a nice environment to eat and enjoy sushi! My girlfriend and I came here for date night and This place absolutely exceeded our expectations! The food was beyond amazing--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight was the garlic chili oil make sure you get the garlic oil!!!!! The sushi was pretty good. The ayce menu is not the full menu but it is majority of it. I believe the ayce starts at 38 dollars. We came here for the first time for dinner with both kids. The menu selection is solid -- they offer everything you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant. While it's not 100% authentic, it's better than many so-called Japanese spots. Okay, so my BF and I are huge sushi lovers like, we're always on the hunt for new places to try. We had been to this location back when it was Tokyo Station, but let me tell you... this is a COMPLETELY NEW SPOT with new owners, and it's a total game changer! From the moment we walked in, we could already feel the difference. The vibe was great, the staff was super friendly, and the service was on point. Shoutout to our waitress Isabel she was so sweet and really went out of her way to take care of us. We decided to go for the AYCE (All You Can Eat) option, and WOW it seriously did not disappoint. I started eating before I took some pictures lol The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. One thing I especially loved was I'm a sucker for mango and salmon rolls, and even though it wasn't on the menu, they made it custom for me. That kind of service just made the whole experience even better. We ordered enough to get full on round one (lol), and everything was just so good. You can really tell they care about quality here both in the food and the experience. If you're in or near Covina, this spot is 100% worth checking out. No need to drive all the way to San Dimas anymore this could totally be the new go-to for AYCE sushi in the area. After a quick glance at their menu I saw that they had Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 4 to 6:30pm. It was a bit pass 6pm so I put in a Dozen Oysters (HH $15 | regular $33) while I looked at the rest of the menu. Ugh regret. These were SO BAD!! First off, the majority was not shucked, it was still attacked to the shell. I turned to the table next to me since I saw they had ordered oysters and I asked if theirs were shucked, and they said some were and some weren't. Oh goodness, so inconsistent. Then they also warned me that they got charged regular pricing instead of happy hour pricing. Also they didn't give me any utensils... so I had to go grab a plastic fork myself cause no staff was in sight and I had to scrap these oysters off their shells. First one not good. Second one, I drowned it in marinara sauce, still not good. Third one... SO BAD I SPLIT IT OUT... Fourth one, ALSO BAD. Okay I don't want to get sit... I'm over this... I just set it aside and covered it with one napkin to indicate I'm over it. Honestly they can see there were many untouched if they wanted to ask me how I liked them. Maybe I should have left but I made the mistake of ordering more food. I ordered a Raspberry Iced Tea ($3.75). Can't really mess that up but I want to point out that no refills were offered my whole time there. I did their Build Your Own with 1lb Shrimp ($17.75), 1lb Crawfish ($11 when added on to an order), with the Make it Awesome ($5.75) which is 1 corn, 2 potatoes, 3 sausages all in their Garlic Butter Mild. Okay... garlic... butter... can't go wrong right?? Well I'm wrong wrong wrong. I don't know HOW they managed to serve me the blandest cajun meal of my life. I am beyond baffled. I see the garlic. The color looks like butter. Definitely not mild, more like zero spice and zero seasonings. Even the limes they gave were dried out and bitter. My theory on the bland garlic was that it was prepped and frozen for so long it lost its' flavor. The seafood itself didn't taste fresh either. Bleh. It really needed a better sauce to mask the musky taste. Oh and the sausage was BURNT. Sigh. I think service tried to be nice. They did come and ask if I needed anything else. But honestly I didn't even want the food in front of me, let alone anything else. At the end they provided complimentary dessert to every guest. It was like a deep fried oreo with a scoop of ice cream on the day I went. The dessert was good. Just nothing else. Oh wait for it... when I got the check, I was also overcharged for the oysters, ringing up at $33 instead of the $1.50/oyster HH price being $15. The waitress was surprised and she even expressed how that happened to another customer (I know) previously and she had asked "him", who I assume is a manager or boss, to fix it in the system. Sigh... Apparently he didn't. The portions were fair, the pricing is fair... WHEN THEY RING YOU UP CORRECTLY. it just tastes bad. Low production quality. Maybe they are able to keep these prices by buying low quality product. Regardless I DEFINITELY won't be coming back. This meal, or rather the stuff that was edible, is not worth the calories. I rarely give 1 star reviews but I almost considered it... but no one was mean and I didn't get sick (because I spit up the bad oysters and stopped eating them). This is such a generous 2 stars review for the mess I had to deal with.

This place is AMAZING I would definitely recommend to go here the service if fast and the workers their are very polite. Food one the other hand is fresh tasting and one of the best sushi places I've ever been to. If you do not like raw fish like me I would recommend the California role if I could give it a 10 stars then I would but they old let us 5 but other wise the inside of the place is clean and a pleasant smell instead of smelling awful smells like raw fish I would come here any day of the week read more

My husband and I ordered catering from Red Wasabi, and were blown away with the food and the service. Belinda and Cossette tended to our every need, and even gave great suggestions on platters that would keep our guests hungry and satisfied. We ended up ordering 2 full trays of the vegetable yakisoba, 2 full trays of the teriyaki chicken, 2 full trays of white rice, and a side of veggies. Although, I was in traffic for a long time it was well worth the drive. The restaurant was very comfortable and cozy, tables are very well spaced with extra long booths. The service was great, very nice waiter. However, the food was absolutely amazing, very fresh, very appealing to the eye and my belly. I will definitely come back here again. I asked for the check when the server was asking me if I wanted anything else and mentioned that I saw they closed at 2pm and wanted to get out of their way. She was very appreciative but never once made me feel rushed or like I stayed too long. Anyway, I really appreciate the extra level of service and professionalism. My husband said, please can we have sometime to look over the menu I do not know yet. The waitress STOOD there staring at us waiting for us to decide what we want. My husband is on page 2 of the menu it is just so big you can't read it all in 30 seconds or one minute.! she wouldn't leave our friend. Finally looked at her and said just a few more minutes please and she just left.. she comes back and we asked for two separate checks before we ordered. I asked for my soup to go to the daughter and it came to me anyway I just gave it to the daughter instead.. the table area where I was sitting at was so sticky and dirty. It was gross one napkin and chopsticks. This kind of service is rare these days and while my experience was made a lot better because of their empathetic response, I still think the quality of food needs attention. To start, this spot is at a convenient location - right next to Regal theaters, plenty of parking nearby and none of that street parking metered crap. Definitely a plus. Prices are not cheap, rolls run you about $18 and the size was pretty small. We got a protein roll and a dragon roll as the menu indicates you buy one get one half off. Dragon roll was the skinniest, tiniest, most petite roll I've ever seen in my life and just felt like they cheaped out on it, which is kind of crazy since it's basically just a California roll... imitation crab is insanely cheap, it's not even real crab. Anyway... I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen, plain - only egg & protein and when it was served to us, all I saw was a puddle of grease on top. For those who are unaware, Tonkotsu literally translates to pork bones, so while it is definitely a hearty/fatty broth, it shouldn't have a visibly separated layer of grease on top. You know when you reheat fettuccini alfredo and the oil separates in the microwave? It looked like that. I've tried various tonkotsu ramens - some better than others btw feel free to DM me for suggestions although the locations are not in close range - but none have had that visible grease layer. To be honest, I'm not really one to send things back, although I have picked up on the habit of not accepting crap food lately, so I didn't really mention anything to the waiter regarding the ramen. I slurped my noodles, ate my egg and chashu - both were OK. The chashu was seared and hard to eat, not the usual melt-in-your-mouth deal, and left the bland, greasy broth behind. Sucks because my favorite part of ramen is, of course, the broth. That's really the whole point. Moving on... I noticed my friend stopped eating her protein roll so I was like what's up? She looked at me a little worried and said she thought the salmon was off. I scrunched my face and was like dammit now I have to try this to make sure. Smell was not off, but took a bite of the salmon and that thing was bitter. We told the waiter and he was apologetic and said he'd talk to the kitchen. They said the fish came in yesterday and while I believe them, and could easily blame the heat we've been dealing with recently, we still felt unsafe finishing the food. I ordered the five hand roll set which consisted of bluefin tuna, yellow tail, salmon, scallops, and snow crab. They lightly toast the seaweed which gives it a nice roasted flavor. The rice is seasoned with red vinegar and is served room temperature, which allows for the flavor of the seafood to shine. All the seafood was fresh and tasty. Overall, the experience was excellent and I will definitely be coming back for more.

The crab handroll threw me off a little bit. It didn't taste fresh but the handroll set was good overall. The pacing of the handrolls was good and didn't feel rushed. Good amount of food. Shared parking lot with other businesses in the plaza with ample spaces. They also have an omakase chefs choice menu posted at the store for those who wants to try something different off menu.

I arrived twenty-five minutes later and observed that the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. There were three groups of people sitting and dining at numerous tables. I advised the female employee that I was there to pick up my order. After confirming my name, the employee said it would be a few more minutes while my orange roll was being made--no problem, I stated. I noticed a white, plastic-sealed bag containing six to seven rolls in plastic containers, sitting on the counter, ready for pickup. I asked the employee if that was my order. She checked the name on the receipt and advised that it was not my order. Ok, no problem, I stated. I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Fifteen to twenty minutes went by, and still, no sushi. The lone female employee was taking phone orders and handed two customers who had also been waiting for their orders. I glanced at the receipt attached to the bag that was resting on the counter, ready for pick up Unless someone else ordered the exact rolls I had ordered (4 CA rolls, one crunch roll, and one orange roll), this WAS my order. I asked the employee to please double-check my order, as I believed this order, which had been sitting on the counter the entire time, was, in fact, mine. The employee confirmed my name and advised, "Oh yes, this is your order. I made a mistake". She handed me my order, and I was gone. I was not upset about having to wait for my order, but I do wish the employee had checked the receipt attached to my bag more clearly the first time around. Oh well, stuff happens. I will say, we did come in on a busy night, so we had to sit at the sushi bar, which we didn't mind at all, but just keep that in mind! With that being said, I definitely recommend!
