My friend and I met up for dinner on NYE. I saw that Red Wasabi was open so we met there. The inside is very spacious and has space for different sized parties. My friend and I were both going to get a roll, hand roll, and some nigiris. I saw that they had a Love Boat which included a rainbow roll, a crunch roll, a California hand roll, a spicy tuna roll, and several nigiris. The boat arrived about 10-12 minutes later. The presentation was nice! The fish tasted fresh. The portions of fish on the nigiri were generous. I definitely recommend trying the boat if there's at least a couple of people eating. Overall, good food and good customer service! Give this restaurant a try if you're in the mood for some sushi! read more

I stopped by Red Wasabi in Covina for the AYCE sushi, and overall, it was a pretty pleasant experience. I'll start with the positives: parking was super easy, which is always a plus in this area. I thought the tuna was really good, definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the fish quality was a bit hit-or-miss for me. Some of it was great, but a few pieces tasted very fishy. My group didn't feel great after eating there, so I'm not totally sure which item caused the stomach upset, but it's worth noting. My other main gripe is the rice ratio. The rolls are huge and the rice is a bit heavy, which fills you up way too fast. Since each roll is about 10 pieces and they don't offer half-rolls, I felt like I was "done" after only 2 or 3 rolls. I'd probably go back for the tuna and the convenience, but I'll definitely be more selective about what I order next time! read more

This was one of my favorite AYCE sushi spots for a while but my daughter and I came in on Wednesday and we were very disappointed. I usually ask for chili oil which I know is not traditional for sushi but I've gotten it from here in the past but they said no it's not available pretty stern and I didn't want to argue. Also on the mussels and other items they absolutely drenched with sauce which was not very tasty to us. We received salmon pieces which are good sized so no complaints on that but they were slightly frozen so that was not very pleasant. The restaurant was not packed, a few families but the wait was much longer than usual. read more

This place is a must visit if you like high quality all you can eat sushi at a reasonable price. It is located where my old favorite AYCE place used to be years ago in a strip mall off Grand right by the 10 freeway. The restaurant has been beautifully decorated in what I would call Japanese pop art, although I'm sure that's not the correct name for it. We tried several different rolls, including the red wasabi roll, the spicy lobster roll, and the mango avocado roll. All of them were delicious. The fish was fresh, there was just the right balance of rice .I highly recommend the mango avocado roll. It is a breath of fresh air for your mouth! The service is great too, our server Isobella was very helpful in helping us choose a plum sake to go with our meal. We finished up with some green tea ce cream. I will definitely be back. read more

A La carte or AYCE. It's alllll good. AYCE is one of the higher price points in the area but you get what you pay for. My go to: spicy scallop hand roll or the spicy albacore hand roll, then seared albacore sushi. Service is always extremely helpful and friendly. Expect to wait , plates don't come out too fast. Place is very clean, restrooms just as clean, which I was impressed by for a sushi restaurant (they're typically never cleaned) This is was our second visit and we have always left satisfied. read more

We came here for the all you can eat sushi. However, our experience wasn't what we expected. The server was very sweet, but the quality of the sushi, especially the raw fish, was not fresh. If you came just for their vegetable and unagi hand rolls or there regular rolls like spider roll or Philadelphia roll, the quality is okay. Unfortunately, we wouldn't come back again I wouldn't recommend a place for those looking for fresh sushi. read more

Service here is PHENOMENAL; all staff greeted, attended and checked up on us very frequently! I never had an empty glass of water, had all the condiments replenished and was even offered a complimentary green tea ice cream (de-lish) :D Food was SUPER tasty! I ordered the 3-Item House Combo Plate--Gyoza, Spicy Tuna Roll, & Beef Teriyaki. It even came with a salad & miso soup! For just $20.99, I view that as a WIN! ^.^ The STAR of the plate was the Beef Teriyaki, my goodness, it was delectable & SAVORY! The miso soup was the runner up; BEST miso base I've ever tasted! The sushi was definitely great, I can tell it was fresh! The Thai Milk Tea actually tasted like Thai tea which was a PLUS! Other places have them watered down or too milky, but this one was perfect. If happiness had a flavor, I'm pretty sure it would taste like Red Wasabi Sushi. Came in hungry, left questioning if I've ever truly appreciated sushi before this moment. Every roll was fresh, flavorful, and dangerously addictive -- like "we should probably order one more... okay two more... alright last one for real" kind of good. But let's talk about Lucas -- the real MVP. This guy didn't just serve food, he served an experience. Attentive without hovering, funny without trying too hard, and somehow always showing up right when we needed something (I'm convinced he has ninja-level awareness). He made us feel like VIPs instead of just another table. Between the incredible sushi and Lucas making our day, this place isn't just a "we'll be back" -- it's a "how soon is too soon to come again?" situation. 10/10. Come hungry. Leave happy. THE BEST VALUE / BANG FOR YOUR BUCK item is the Chirashi bowl! $18 and you get 12 pcs of fish, 3 of each kind of the big 4 fish , seaweed salad, red and yellow radish, avocado , masago, and sushi rice. This is probably a pricing error on their end so RUN to get this while you can. I've been to a lot of sushi spots across the state, and this is easily the best I've had. The quality stands out right away- the fish tastes clean, fresh, and well handled. Every roll was balanced, and nothing felt overdone or covered up with heavy sauces. The Nigiri just melts in your mouth it is so good. You can tell they take care in how everything is prepared. My husband and I came to Red Wasabi for the first time for an early dinner at around 3p this afternoon and we are SO happy we did! The second we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff and we loved the cool art on the walls! Great vibes here and cozy seating. Shoutout to our server, Lucas, who was incredibly attentive, kind, and very helpful with suggesting menu items for us to try! Also, I loved that he gave me and my husband our own separate wasabi/gingers! That's never happened to us before at a sushi spot and I loved that additional touch, because we usually always have to ask for more. It's the little things, am I right? The food was delicious and flavor-filled! Since our favorite local sushi spot closed down, we've been on the hunt for a new spot and let me tell ya, there are so many trendy looking spots out there with imposter sushi rolls! They look beautiful but have ZERO FLAVOR! But that doesn't exist here! :) We ordered the seaweed salad, gyoza, dynamite roll, dragon roll, and the Viking roll and everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and yummy until the last BITE! We look forward to coming back again soon, and making this our regular sushi hang spot! Oh, and also, on our way out, the dope staff thanked us for coming and told us to have a great night. I'm going to give this place five stars because they were incredibly accommodating with me asking for no rice on a roll. I said they don't even have to make it pretty but they still did. Tastes great and they did a really good job. I'll definitely be coming back. This might be my new go to if they can be that accommodating with the rolls. The walls are really awesome. I'm glad that we tried this new sushi place coz they did not disappoint. Everything was up to our standards. Clean, very friendly staff, plenty of tables good for groups and elbow space, awesome ambiance, parking was an ease and to top all that, presentation and food were flavorable. Not too much sauce on the sushi. Fast service and all the staff were helping each other. We had Lizzy and was very helpful. The menu list was easy to order from. We got there early and was the first customers so we got some complimentary dishes and drinks which were recommended to us and we're delicious. All their dishes were delicious, we ordered 9 dishes and left the joint so satisfied. One more good thing about this joint was everyone wore a smile and constantly checking on us. We were pampered! We're definitely coming back with a bigger group. I'm considering this sushi place our new "go to" restaurant and would highly recommend this place. Come hungry. Job we'll done chef! read more

I have eaten here 2x with family already and it never disappoints!! Such a wide variety of yummy rolls and bento box combinations! The AYCE is more affordable than other sushi spots around or they either don't even have AYCE at all...so Red Wasabi Sushi is def my new go to AYCE spot. The servers i've had are always so nice and attentive. The owners are very kind and amazing people and have made the place such a nice environment to eat and enjoy sushi! My girlfriend and I came here for date night and This place absolutely exceeded our expectations! The food was beyond amazing--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight was the garlic chili oil make sure you get the garlic oil!!!!! The environment was not only welcoming but also visually stunning, making the entire experience feel special from the moment we walked in. And the service? Top tier. The sushi was pretty good. The ayce menu is not the full menu but it is majority of it. I believe the ayce starts at 38 dollars. The service was pretty good not much to complain about the server was very patient and asked if i had any questions. The restaurant was very quiet and spacious. read more

We came here for the first time for dinner with both kids. The menu selection is solid -- they offer everything you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant. While it's not 100% authentic, it's better than many so-called Japanese spots. We ordered a few cooked rolls and a bowl of ramen for the kids, and I had the sashimi combo along with a couple of sashimi rolls. Everything was very decent. Okay, so my BF and I are huge sushi lovers like, we're always on the hunt for new places to try. We had been to this location back when it was Tokyo Station, but let me tell you... this is a COMPLETELY NEW SPOT with new owners, and it's a total game changer! From the moment we walked in, we could already feel the difference. The vibe was great, the staff was super friendly, and the service was on point. Shoutout to our waitress Isabel she was so sweet and really went out of her way to take care of us. We decided to go for the AYCE (All You Can Eat) option, and WOW it seriously did not disappoint. I started eating before I took some pictures lol The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. One thing I especially loved was I'm a sucker for mango and salmon rolls, and even though it wasn't on the menu, they made it custom for me. That kind of service just made the whole experience even better. We ordered enough to get full on round one (lol), and everything was just so good. You can really tell they care about quality here both in the food and the experience. If you're in or near Covina, this spot is 100% worth checking out. No need to drive all the way to San Dimas anymore this could totally be the new go-to for AYCE sushi in the area. They had quite a rude tone and they were giving dirty looks from the counter and when they walked by. I also saw the two female workers gossiping laughing, and pointing at us from the counter. I could clearly tell they were making jokes out of us. Both of my kids are under 12, This highly inappropriate, especially when theres young children around. The food tasted slightly off, but tolerable. The fish tasted slimy, a weird kind of slimy. The rolls were sloppy and were plated quite messy and unappealing. The fish to rice ratio was also off. My kids wanted to try the sushi taco, so we ordered it. It did not look like a taco at all, we were very disappointed and it tasted horribly. Honestly theres better AYCE sushi places you can go to instead of this place. The seating was quite cramped and disorganized aswell. Dragon roll was the skinniest, tiniest, most petite roll I've ever seen in my life and just felt like they cheaped out on it, which is kind of crazy since it's basically just a California roll... imitation crab is insanely cheap, it's not even real crab. Anyway... I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen, plain - only egg & protein and when it was served to us, all I saw was a puddle of grease on top. For those who are unaware, Tonkotsu literally translates to pork bones, so while it is definitely a hearty/fatty broth, it shouldn't have a visibly separated layer of grease on top. You know when you reheat fettuccini alfredo and the oil separates in the microwave? It looked like that. I've tried various tonkotsu ramens - some better than others btw feel free to DM me for suggestions although the locations are not in close range - but none have had that visible grease layer. To be honest, I'm not really one to send things back, although I have picked up on the habit of not accepting crap food lately, so I didn't really mention anything to the waiter regarding the ramen. I slurped my noodles, ate my egg and chashu - both were OK. The chashu was seared and hard to eat, not the usual melt-in-your-mouth deal, and left the bland, greasy broth behind. Sucks because my favorite part of ramen is, of course, the broth. That's really the whole point. Moving on... I noticed my friend stopped eating her protein roll so I was like what's up? She looked at me a little worried and said she thought the salmon was off. I scrunched my face and was like dammit now I have to try this to make sure. Smell was not off, but took a bite of the salmon and that thing was bitter. We told the waiter and he was apologetic and said he'd talk to the kitchen. They said the fish came in yesterday and while I believe them, and could easily blame the heat we've been dealing with recently, we still felt unsafe finishing the food. I appreciate them showing concern for the issue with the food and no reports of food poisoning so far - been like two days now so I'm sure we're fine. Brings me to our total of about $50. Damn. I know sushi and ramen aren't typically cheap items but the quality was nowhere near standard and unfortunately this experience was enough to dissuade me from coming back. I don't want to nitpick, but I just like giving peeps details on certain things so their experience may not come as a surprise, but the general atmosphere of this spot was also a bit... different. They were playing loud music, I recall hearing 500 Miles by the Proclaimers super loud and I was kind of like dang man it feels like I'm right in the heart of Tokyo... /s There are much, much, much better spots for ramen and for sushi, there is literally an actual Japanese restaurant right across the street from Kopan and I'd bet money you'd get way better food for more or less the same price there. This place is AMAZING I would definitely recommend to go here the service if fast and the workers their are very polite. Food one the other hand is fresh tasting and one of the best sushi places I've ever been to. If you do not like raw fish like me I would recommend the California role if I could give it a 10 stars then I would but they old let us 5 but other wise the inside of the place is clean and a pleasant smell instead of smelling awful smells like raw fish I would come here any day of the week read more

My husband and I ordered catering from Red Wasabi, and were blown away with the food and the service. Belinda and Cossette tended to our every need, and even gave great suggestions on platters that would keep our guests hungry and satisfied. We ended up ordering 2 full trays of the vegetable yakisoba, 2 full trays of the teriyaki chicken, 2 full trays of white rice, and a side of veggies. Although, I was in traffic for a long time it was well worth the drive. The restaurant was very comfortable and cozy, tables are very well spaced with extra long booths. The service was great, very nice waiter. However, the food was absolutely amazing, very fresh, very appealing to the eye and my belly. I will definitely come back here again. I asked for the check when the server was asking me if I wanted anything else and mentioned that I saw they closed at 2pm and wanted to get out of their way. She was very appreciative but never once made me feel rushed or like I stayed too long. Anyway, I really appreciate the extra level of service and professionalism. Pro tip: they have their own website for ordering takeout and delivery. Will have to try that soon.

We mentioned it was our first time and may we have sometime to look over the menu ? Ok and she left, she came back 30 seconds later, are you ready to order? NO the menu is huge and we need about 5 minutes please. One minute later she said OK what would you like to order ? My husband said, please can we have sometime to look over the menu I do not know yet. The waitress STOOD there staring at us waiting for us to decide what we want. My husband is on page 2 of the menu it is just so big you can't read it all in 30 seconds or one minute.! she wouldn't leave our friend. Finally looked at her and said just a few more minutes please and she just left.. she comes back and we asked for two separate checks before we ordered. I asked for my soup to go to the daughter and it came to me anyway I just gave it to the daughter instead.. the table area where I was sitting at was so sticky and dirty. It was gross one napkin and chopsticks. Never asked if we wanted more napkins or a fork or knife or anything else once we ordered, and our food was brought to us you never heard or seen her at our table again until we asked for our check & to go boxes as she was visiting customers at the sushi bar and very attentive to them. When the food came, I was shocked at the size the tuna rolls they were so tiny. A snail is bigger. I was un impressed with the food. Nothing had any flavor to it. No salt wasabi that was on my plate was so small it was the size of a dime!!!!! and we love our wasabi! What a joke! The restaurant is so tiny and so loud and then they had a singer to celebrate their restaurant anniversary there which was beyond loud. Tables weren't full, but yet people were standing and waiting to be seated. That made no sense.. I am not a fan of TV's on the wall's at a restaurant. Sports bar's OK but not at a restaurant specifically when there is NO Sound. If you are a local and you come to this restaurant often, then the female waitress will love you! If you're new to the restaurant, she'll stare at you and until you order food and then ignore you once your food is handed to you. We will Never be back? Never ever again you couldn't pay me to come back to this restaurant ..! Do I recommend this restaurant in Covina absolutely not no way know how not even if it was free.!!!!! What was good about our experience, the beer, the company and the fact that we left.! Yay.!!!! FYI: my to box is in the trashcan. Once the drink and appetizer order is taken, Please do not approach a table until the menus are set down. Please clean your menu's and tables. First impressions are everything and our experience here was horrific. !!!! Please read other reviews about our server and the quality of the food. Smell was not off, but took a bite of the salmon and that thing was bitter. We told the waiter and he was apologetic and said he'd talk to the kitchen. They said the fish came in yesterday and while I believe them, and could easily blame the heat we've been dealing with recently, we still felt unsafe finishing the food. I appreciate them showing concern for the issue with the food and no reports of food poisoning so far - been like two days now so I'm sure we're fine. Brings me to our total of about $50. Damn. I know sushi and ramen aren't typically cheap items but the quality was nowhere near standard and unfortunately this experience was enough to dissuade me from coming back. I don't want to nitpick, but I just like giving peeps details on certain things so their experience may not come as a surprise, but the general atmosphere of this spot was also a bit... different. They were playing loud music, I recall hearing 500 Miles by the Proclaimers super loud and I was kind of like dang man it feels like I'm right in the heart of Tokyo... /s There are much, much, much better spots for ramen and for sushi, there is literally an actual Japanese restaurant right across the street from Kopan and I'd bet money you'd get way better food for more or less the same price there. Also Burger Bun is in the same plaza, place is also fire, I'll drop that review separately. TL;DR: food bad, expensive, fish off, service good, decent parking, convenient location

The kaarage pieces were quite small though. The Crispy Chili White Tuna Roll then came, this one was actually decent. I enjoyed the fried onions on top, but it was just okay. Nothing really tasted very fresh. Miso soup was also kinda salty. Honestly I feel like Kopan ramen (across the street) would have been a better move if you're looking for Japanese food on this street lol

I ordered the five hand roll set which consisted of bluefin tuna, yellow tail, salmon, scallops, and snow crab. They lightly toast the seaweed which gives it a nice roasted flavor. The rice is seasoned with red vinegar and is served room temperature, which allows for the flavor of the seafood to shine. All the seafood was fresh and tasty. Overall, the experience was excellent and I will definitely be coming back for more.

I noticed a white, plastic-sealed bag containing six to seven rolls in plastic containers, sitting on the counter, ready for pickup. I asked the employee if that was my order. She checked the name on the receipt and advised that it was not my order. Ok, no problem, I stated. I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Fifteen to twenty minutes went by, and still, no sushi. The lone female employee was taking phone orders and handed two customers who had also been waiting for their orders. I glanced at the receipt attached to the bag that was resting on the counter, ready for pick up Unless someone else ordered the exact rolls I had ordered (4 CA rolls, one crunch roll, and one orange roll), this WAS my order. I asked the employee to please double-check my order, as I believed this order, which had been sitting on the counter the entire time, was, in fact, mine.
