I've been to this location probably 3 times now.. we frequent the NW location since it's on our side of town, but this location is AMAZING. It's probably at LEAST 3 times the size of the NW location and I do appreciate how less cramped it feels, but don't let that deter you.. you still get the same great quality food and service at both locations. However, we LOVE that there's a speakeasy nearby... so we often hit both at the same time. Redbird is probably top 3 on our favorite restaurants in Tucson and are always taking our friends and family here! I would also suggest getting there a bit earlier, as parking can be a bit of a challenge sometimes! read more

Came here tonight and the food was really good -- a smidge salty, but still delicious! Brooke, our server, was so sweet. Having moved here from out of state, one thing I've noticed is that young adults here really know how to carry a conversation, and she knew so much about the menu. First time here. Bright festive dining area was attractive and the open concept was adjacent to Sonoran House coffee/bar which was a bit confusing but it flowed well. I was greeted immediately by a cheerful server who offered water, menus and asked if I wanted a beverage while I waited for a friend. I really enjoyed the look of Redbird, open, murals, a sports bar area, and as the lunch crowd arrived a lively atmosphere. Apparently they are known for their burgers which looked massive. Fresh ingredients were apparent and several tacos, salads and wings were also available. My tacos were delicious and came with several salsas which were a fun addition to sample. Believe the 5-star reviews--the new Redbird at Sam Hughes is a fun take on some of our favorite comfort foods like burgers, waffle fries, tacos and macaroni and cheese. Love the creativity of the menu! And dinner won't break the bank, with generous portions at reasonable prices. I enjoyed the chicken tacos with street corn as a side dish. And their only dessert is a standout--bread pudding made from homemade cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting and Cinnamon Toast Crunch sprinkles. It sounds decadent because it is. Our party of four couldn't finish it. The service from Liz was friendly and fast. My only complaint is the indoor dining space is freezing! Outdoor tables are lovely but the metal chairs are uncomfortable and need cushions. I resorted to sitting on a cloth napkin, seriously! Delicious and fun vibe! Came here with a big party and they did not disappoint. Their wings are yummy - crispy with a decent amount of sauce. Another restaurant I've been wanting to try and we finally made it! We popped in on a Monday mid afternoon and were greeted by a really sweet and friendly hostess, seated right away. The menu has some really delicious sounding items that are different from the mainstream (probably what drew me here). We landed on some loaded wings, Nashville/AZ Chicken Sandwich and a side of fries. I must say as someone who doesn't lean towards waffle fries, these were particularly good. My sandwich was truly great and my husband enjoyed his wings. I am not generally a repeat orderer BUT I could see myself always ordering the chicken sandwich. The coleslaw, pickles, crispy Chix with the blend of sauce was reallllllllllllly good! I loved that our server brought us some warm towels afterwards, my husband, post wings,needed one. They have a cute coffee/tea/bottle shop attached and next door that was very nice and included some retail for local artists and businesses which is really cool. As someone who's been visiting the Oracle location fairly regularly, I was really excited to try the Sam Hughes location and it did not disappoint! My party ordered the carne asada nachos and the mac and cheese (both of which are go-to apps now) to split between seven of us. As always, both were such high quality and filling appetizers with incredible flavors. I ordered the Garlic Confit Pretzel and a Shirley Temple, both of which I definitely will be ordering again. Across both locations, I can now say that I've never gotten something from Redbird that disappointed me. We have been meaning to go in and try Redbird for awhile. The location - we have visted/eaten at every entity that has been here. The location is welcoming, open and filled with light. It has lots of seating without feeling too crowded. There is a small bar area where you can sit and watch sports in the center. The wait staff is friendly and professional. Our server's name was Abby and she was a delight to deal with. Profession, good attitude, light sense of humor and great food suggestions. We got the elite nachos with pollo asada and a Sonoran hamburger with waffle fries. Food was fast fresh and fantastic. Say that five times fast. their ranch is made in house and is great. Example #2, my friend ordered the Quesabirria tacos, while they were decent the problem is the offensively small Consomè (Broth) they give you. You literally get a 1 oz DIPPING SAUCE/CONDIMENT size portion .... wtf?? Example #3, my 2nd friend ordered a burger and to our surprise it comes with NO FRIES lol... for a $20 burger and no fries is absolutely criminal. You can go to a fancy restaurant and pay the same or less and get more. Its literally a everyday family restaurant that serves traditional food but for some reason they price their sht like its fine dining. There's alot of Buz on this place but its only because its the new kid in town. Once the hype goes way and people realize the compromise of this place, i'd be surprised it remaining as busy. If the owners are reading this, seriously at least give people their money's worth. Making good food shouldn't have a downside like taking away some things you'd expect LIKE FRIES with your burger or small broth serving on the Birria because literally every other restaurant/competitor doesn't make you compromise as much. read more

The elote nachos are a must even as is without additional meat/protein topping. The loaded buffalo wings are bomb as well. As for the tacos, the crispy shrimp tacos are okay but not the best. They do have interesting cocktails like the Mexican Candy Martini or the Cafe Espresso, and mocktails as well as full-bar with seasonal rotating beers. The service is great as all wait staff are very accommodating and attentive. Overall, Redbird is a great place to hangout and have shareable food but some downsides would probably be that all the cocktails are slightly pricey and the parking situation especially during the weekends are a bit of a nightmare. read more

We had such an amazing time at that location that while we were up north we tried the Oracle location and switched our orders up. We went during Happy Hour and enjoyed those prices-- which HH discounted prices can be hard to find in today's economy. We hadn't realized the tight space at this location and ultimately decided on the patio which added a nice ambiance to our date night. Mind you this was a few weeks back and I can still discuss this in full detail. The food was EPIC. We ordered the loaded waffle fries and my mouth is watering as I write this. They are a must order no matter which location you dine at. 10/10 read more

Yummy, yummy, yummy! So glad we stopped here on our way through Arizona. The first food spot we were going to try didn't allow our dog, so we decided on this spot. We were happy we did because the whole experience was wonderful from beginning to end. The service was top notch and the food was too. We sat on the patio with our pup and our sever was Amelia. She was the sweetest and made some great recommendations. My husband and I shared the elote nachos with pollo asado. We also split the carne asada tacos and added the pickled veggies for my husband. The kids both ordered chicken wings from the kid's menu. They both came with waffle fries and fruit. They had a choice of garlic Parm or buffalo sauce or dry rub. Drove down from Tempe to try this place out!! It DID NOT disappoint. Truly the best meal I've had in quite some time. The nachos were out of this world you HAVE to get them!!! TRUST. We also got the Nashville hot Sando, waffle fries, pretzel and the crispy shrimp tacos. Everything was delicious. The tacos have homemade tortillas which was a nice touch. The salsas were really tasty too. They are a scratch kitchen so everything you can tell has so much thought that's gone in to making all the dishes. We had some of their margaritas which we were told they do fresh squeeze juice- I'm boujee and love that. I can't do the fake bottled stuff it's what gives you the hangover ;) The service from the host stand, to our server were great as well. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean, inviting and beautiful. They also have some TVs so if you have a game you want to watch you can definitely do it there. Elevated sports bar love it. They do have another location I haven't checked out yet but next time I'm in town I'm going to try that one as well.
