These guys are great, honest and tell you like it is, which I appreciate. They did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. They did not talk to me like I was stupid just because I'm a women an older one at that. I only have one car and having to go to work I really need it. He told me they do first come first service. They could not do that day because they needed to get the part but told me to bring it back the next day and they would do it which I did. I had my car back by 5:00. As for the price it was a big difference from what I had been quoted else where. They do not try to gouge people which is hard to fine now days. So disappointed with GNR Automax A few months ago we took our car in and had some work done. Picked it up and 2 days later still having the same issue, took it back and they said another part needed to be fixed (they replaced the part free of charge) picked it up the next day and low and behold a few days later the same problem, at that point we were told they really didn't know what was wrong ‍ ended up taking it to another mechanic to be fixed. Not even sure the $600 in parts that were replaced needed to be Decided to give them another chance..Well..NEVER agin. Took our son's car in had some brake work done ($500) picked it up and on the way home had some issues (weird sound) took it back in and they said $400 more in repairs needed to be done. We decided to take it to a different mechanic and what they told us needed fixed, does not need fixed. Not only are we out money that may not have needed to be spent but due to taking it back a 2nd day, he had to miss work..SMH. Hard lesson learned & I can say I will not take another car there and I would not personally recommend them read more

I haven't had a tune up in awhile. I took my car up to this place to get a new coil and a spark plug because my code reader said that and then when I took it up there they didn't fix what needed to be fixed and replaced a part that didn't need to be replaced and charged me 500$ for literly holding my car for 3 days and did nothing but reset the lights. I have taken my car into Redford three separate times since July to get my AC fixed. Every time I take it in, they told me it was fixed and two weeks later my AC would stop working. I told them a couple of different times I felt like it might be something with the controls in the car. The first time I took it in was for overheating and the AC. They replaced my fan, said they fixed my AC and charged me $1100. The second time i took my car in for the AC again, they told me it was a leak, they charged me $425. This last time I took it in for the AC not working, they told me the AC wouldn't work in cold whether, which is wrong. They also told me the AC is working find, which it's not and the there was something wrong with the HVAC system and that it was going to cost me $850 to fix it. I told them I wouldn't be paying for any further parts, but would pay for labor. They refused to offer me any type of refund or make up for their mistake. The person on the phone was very impatient with me when I was trying to ask questions and said they didn't want to argue. I wasn't arguing, I was just asking questions. Also, my husband got the part they were talking about for $50, and it takes five minutes to replace. read more

I can not recommend Redford Auto Repair enough! The always go above and beyond. I'm very very grateful for them as well as their fast and FAIR service! We have been there a over a few times and just recently noticed the " Under New Management" sign on our last visit. They have accommodated me and my three 5 five year olds by giving us a ride home so we didn't have to walk and even offered to pick us up . That was so appreciated! The front desk man tries to give the BEST prices and won't do work on a hunch (only to have customers bring a vehicle back in because what they replaced was not the problem). I've used Redford Auto in Taylor for repairs based off of reviews I've seen locally. I've paid them over $2000 recently in repairs. The repairs are not up to par. My caliper bolt came out yesterday and jammed my tire (putting my ligand my family's lives in danger). I was told by another mechanic that it appeared that both side caliper bolts were not tightened appropriately. I called Redford Auto to see what could be done (even just reimbursing towing and the service fees I paid to have it fixed). Joe (the manager) started yelling at me and telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about. And told me he doesn't care if I post about this on social media because people in this group love them. He also told me he will not take any more of my calls. In my opinion it's shoddy work and shoddy customer service. Be ware if you use their shop. They don't even deserve one star. read more

DO NOT GO TO TAYLOR location. This place will discriminate against you if you have children. The man behind the desk tried to bully me into leaving twice while waiting for my vehicle simply my kids were with me. He didnt care that I had no way to pick it up after. One time was immediately upon arrival and the next was an hour later when i told my daughter to leave him alone because she was trying to say hi to him and he ignored her.When I refused to a ride home the second time because I had no way back, he then accused my 2 and 3 year old of vandalizing his candy machine. After an argument he threw me out and refused a refund then threatened to call the police on me for not leaving without a refund. Worst customer service i have ever recieved in my life.by the way they give u money off for posting a good review. Thats the only reason they have any good reviews. read more

I walk in there they know my name easy to joke around with and they got the best damn prices on everything and believe me living alone I check out every price to get the best deal. I had visited Redford Auto Repair in Taylor with a previous vehicle and was impressed with their speed and that they were not pushy, so I went back to them to get a tune- up, AC check/repair and a rear door fixed. I received a phone call from the front desk person telling me that my van would need a "major tune up" and he was not sure if I wanted to risk the back inside panel of the rear door being broken to fix that. I told him to do what he needed to do. He assured me again that the vehicle would be ready by close of business that day. I never received another call from him, but when closing time neared, I ordered up an Uber and headed back. As soon as I walked in, he said "oh no buddy, you're not gonna be done today hahaha" I said well I need the vehicle tomorrow to transport animals. He said he would button it up and we could use it but get it back to him on Monday as this day was Friday. I said fine and we drove the van on Saturday all the while smelling exhaust fumes as they didn't apparently button it up as well as they should have. I rented a car for what we had to do Sunday as I didn't want to subject my wife and six-year-old to further headaches. I should also mention that although they had the vehicle the entire day, only the AC appeared to be serviced. We could not open the back door still. I took the van back on Monday and did not get it back till Wednesday. The front office person called me frequently but never once left a message. I had to constantly call him back to see why he was calling and advise him how I was willing to proceed. We got the vehicle back and it ran good for a while until I went to get an oil change. About a week later, after an oil change at another place, the engine started racing horribly. The place that I had the oil change done pointed out that the housing that has the air filter was taped up and they had not changed it and perhaps that was the problem. Now, I knew that this was a problem from previous oil changes and had assumed that they fixed that at Redford when they did a "major tune up" Apparently not. I bought a new filter and the engine continued racing at dangerous levels. The oil change guys said maybe it was the sensor that falls in line right after the filter. I took the van back to Redford and asked them why they didn't fix that when they did the "major tune up" The front desk guy said oh "we didn't do a major tune up, we just did plugs and wires" So I replied" I paid nearly $2000 for just plugs and wires, and easy fix on the AC and the door being fixed?" Apparently, that was what I paid for. But now they would fix it. Another two days later and another rental car later, I was called and again had to call him back to find out that the van was ready for me. I dropped off my rental, ubered it over to the shop, started up the van and guess what it's still racing. Then I spent the next twenty minutes arguing with them over whose fault it was that the problem was not solved. Since I had suggested that it might be that sensor, it was my fault somehow. Now if I go to a walk-in clinic and tell that I think I'm having a heart attack, my friend is a nurse and she thinks I am, would they just start pumping me full of blood clotters or assess me first? This is to say nothing of the fact that they should have known the thing was still racing. Uber back over to get another rental and wait three more days while they throw all kinds of theories at it. Every time they had a new theory, the front desk would call me but not leave a message. One of the ideas they had was that somehow the fact that my oversized van has a rear Hvac system and a front and the tubes going to the rear were in bad shape was somehow affecting the racing. I am not a mechanic but that made no sense to me. They quoted a $500+ bill to solve that or they could just bypass that system. Now my front vents don't blow and they knew this. I said if you bypass my rear system, it will eliminate the AC I need for the rescue dogs I transport. They assured me that it would not affect the AC only the heat. Again, this made no sense to me but, ok. Finally, they actually did solve the problem but I don't know what they did honestly. It seems that they put a governor on the engine as it starts to race upon start up and then quickly stops and now my frequently stalls at low rpms. So now I have, as I feared, a vehicle with essentially no air conditioning as all the rear vents only blow cool air when it is cold outside in this 90-degree weather we've been having and a vehicle that stalls out often. For my $3000+ just paid to them. These people are either completely incompetent or thieves!! read more

Never, never again. Last year took my truck in and they said I had ONE bad fuel injector. They replaced and charged a pretty penny. It still wasn't running right. I popped the hood at home and looked at the injectors. They replaced ONE but it was the wrong injector for my truck. I ended up buying 8 new injectors (they were all badly corroded) and replaced myself. I went back to them and the old manager refunded my money and made it right. 2 weeks ago, I went in for a no heat issue. I figured since the last guy made it right, I'd give them another shot. I figured I needed a heater core. I was quoted $500. They had my truck overnight then called me and said I needed new radiator, water pump, various hoses, Tstat, Tstat housing...To the tune of $800+!!! After all that, it STILL wasn't right.i brought it back and they said it was a vacuum line. Again, no heat. I called the main office/shop in Detroit and explained. They said bring it there. The mechanic there flushed my heater core. It was fixed! So, the Taylor shop replaced parts I didn't need replaced for $800 when, all along, I needed a heater core flush for less than $100. The bad thing is, that's what I told them I figured it needed in the first place!!! I wouldn't use these guys (Taylor shop) for even an oil change. NEVER use them. It's hard to find a honest shop and these morons are giving everyone a bad taste in their mouths. You suck!! read more
