My wife and I ate at the Redhawk for the first time last weekend. The staff was very friendly. I had the prime cut Ribeye and the Garlic Mussels and my wife had the Matloaf (Named for the head chef Matt) and an order of potatoes skins. The food took a while to arrive but it was worth the wait. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. I also had a Woodford Old Fashion cocktail that was excellent. They had a live band playing that night which was a lot of fun but was very loud. All in all it was a great evening and we plan to eat there again. read more

This place is a hidden gem in this area. Food quality and service is superb and environment is relaxed. They have a back bar that is open even in cooler weather and heated , bocce ball courts , pool table and patio dining. The staff is amazing, they have capability for private parties also. My wife and I just got done with a round of golf and wanted a nice quick dinner outside to enjoy the wonderful weather we are experiencing in Lake county Ohio. We decided to go to the Redhawk Grille and eat on their patio. We got seated promptly outside on their patio which is really nice. It provides shade from the sun and yet lets you experience al fresco dining in comfort. We started off with some cocktails, and the ordered our dinners. My wife ordered the P.E.I Mussels appetizer. They were huge and prepared just exquisitely. The order came with some bread which perfectly complimented the broth. The mussels were huge and more than enough for one person for an entire evening. I had ordered an ordered the appetizer of dry Cajun wings, which was accompanied with celery sticks and blue cheese. I probably got a dozen wings as an appetizer which I took over half of them home. I have never been disappointed with their wings. There was a lot of activity on a Friday night, but the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great and very lively. Have been here a few times in the past and the décor still is a bit outdated and drab. I would think they would do a redesign to make the place a bit more cheery and modern looking. However, the food was pretty good and the country fried steak was excellent and quite large. We did order an appetizer of calamari, but it was bit under cooked and the sweet and sour sauce they use with it isn't that great so I would not recommend that. The service overall was great and I have no complaints there. So if you have a bit of an appetite I would recommend Redhawk Grille as a possible destination. read more

I went here for lunch with my mom. We both had a salad. The salad was small. I added salmon to mine, it was extremely dry. The salmon tasted like it was cooked the day before and reheated. It ended up being a very expensive salad! Not worth the money at all. read more

The place wasn't very busy, a lot of open seating at the bar. After 10 minutes a male bartender arrived and kindly asked me if I'd been helped. He brought my drink and asked if I wanted a menu. Hosted a wedding shower yesterday and the service was above and beyond! Doug and co. were so attentive to our party and did not miss a beat. The food was great, the set up they gave us looked awesome and the general atmosphere was so inviting and fun. After being there late Saturday night, I was pleasantly surprised Sunday morning when our whole area was cleaned and ready (I truly expected to have to ask them to sweep and wipe tables based on how busy it was Saturday night). My friend and I came with a total of 4 children 9 and under. The wait time was terribly long. They didn't take into consideration our children waiting for their food at all. We also ordered to go meals but our waitress didn't put those orders in until after our food arrived so we ended up waiting an extra 15-20 minutes for those meals. read more

I've been to the Red Hawk many times while the food has always been top notch the service has always been questionable. If you go to the bar the service is great, if you get a table do not come with high expectations. First the young man as the outdoor host on 6/12 should not be in the service industry with his smart ass comments. Then the table service makes you wonder why you are there, but when the food gets there everything is good. But you pay for the whole service, not just the food, you want to feel like the customer not the person who is wasting your time for a 90 minute wait. If you hire better staff outside the bar and kitchen you would have a great place to go. read more

This place has a lot going for itself. The family and I stopped in there for dinner last night. It was our second visit. We sat outside. The patio has a great atmosphere--lively, but not too loud, until the live music comes on. The menu offers up a wide variety of homestyle comfort foods and there's something on it for everyone. The food is made fresh to order and the flavors are pretty good. I started off with the clam chowder, which was very good. For my entree, I chose a special, which was a soft-shell crab sandwich. It was cooked well, but it didn't come with any type of sauce, which was disappointing. I'd have given 4 stars had it been served with a spicy remoulade or something to liven it up. The portions were, in my opinion, a little out of control. I can't blame the restaurant when it comes to portions though. So many diners want pounds of leftovers to take home, but it's not my cup of tea. I personally find large portions to be a bit obscene, to the point where a huge plate of food can ruin my appetite. That said, if you're a big fan of large portions, then by all means, you're gonna love this place. Overall, I enjoyed this place. It wasn't pretentious. The prices were reasonable. The food was fresh and flavorful and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would eat here again. Very kid friendly with good service. read more

We love the Red Hawk. A regular for us. I was very disappointed tonight. Ordered bacon wrapped scallops with rice/green beans. Green beans were the only decent part of the meal. Rice under cooked. There was a garnish/sauce of some kind on top of the scallops. Looked like hummus but had absolutely no taste. Everything way under par. Ordered turtle cheesecake for dessert. Informed they just took it out of the freezer and wasn't defrosted yet. (7:00 ish). Hoping this was just a bad night. Margaretias always yummy, so will try again. read more

Went here on a Friday night to listen to a band on the patio. Wait was over 1 1/2 hours to get a table outside which we were ok with since we were still able to enjoy the band. Once we got seated, service was terrible and the overpriced food was mediocre at best. Ordered a $12 appetizer of artichoke dip and there was so much grease in it that I had to use a spoon to drain it! Maybe that's why they sat us at a table in the dark. It also took our server over 1 hour to bring our check after asking several times. And to top it off, the other couple that we were with got charged for our food that we already paid for! My family and I have been coming to Redhawk grill for quite a few years, we come from California to visit family a few times a year. With each trip, I have enjoyed dining at the 'Hawk. A few weeks ago we were in town and of course we made a visit to the Hawk, we actually went twice on this visit and this was the first time ever that I was disappointed, I chalked it up to a bad night, it happens and we went back a few days later before returning home. My family and I sat in the bar as we often do, where we were treated poorly by the bartender, I believe her name was Vanessa, or Melissa? She was very rude to us. I tend to tip $20 cash when I sit down to a new bartender expecting good service but this had the opposite effect on her. We waited a half hour for appetizers and even longer for our dinner.I had the Mediterranean wraps which were inedible, and my husband ordered a rare steak that came out well done, but he ate it as we were so hungry by then. Overall, no one in my family was happy with the food or the service. The Redhawk grill has always been a top-shelf establishment where we could always count on good food and excellent service and meet up with family for some great memories, drinks and enjoy an excellent meal and service. I'm hesitant to do this review after years of reliable service, I don't know what changed, but we won't be going back, very disappointed! I only wish I could give it less than 1 star, I won't be spending my money there next visit. read more

Tried it again after a year. Still not good. Concord area just doesn't have that pretty looking ambiance fun feeling. I guess we just came from having a glass of wine in Madison and it was so pretty. Then you went to concord. I felt bad our food was tasteless. Redhawk you need to get a new menu and go to places like Downtown Willoughby and reinvent yourselves. I haven't tried much at RedHawk, but I have heard great things from friends, especially on Mussel Monday's (not a seafood eater myself). The boneless mild wings are God's gift to Painesville. For $10 you get a ton and they won't skimp on the sauce/dressings. However... I didn't mind being told a 10 minute wait and then promptly ignored for 43 minutes, but my wife wasn't exactly thrilled to sit in a bar parking lot waiting forever for food I ordered well in advance.I flagged down a busser (not hostess) to check on the wings I ordered almost an hour ago. He runs back in 10 seconds and - whaddaya know!!! - my wings were done. ....But they are some darn good wings! read more

A friend and I stopped by at 4:30 last Saturday after golf. The patio looks fabulous and spacious. No tables were available on the patio so we sat at the empty patio bar. Bar stools seemed to be socially distant. Over the course of one hour the patio filled up and social distancing was non-existent. Diners waiting for tables flooded the bar, even ordering from the server area at the bar. The bartenders should not have served guests from the server area. Guests not wearing masks tried to cut to the bar between my friend and I. Service was okay; after receiving my dinner no one checked to see if we needed anything. Our bartender disappeared and we had to flag another one down to request our check. If you are seeking a location practicing appropriate social distancing I would suggest avoiding the Red Hawk. read more

Band sucked. Food on our party was cold, greasy and gross. Waitresses are attentive and spot on about ordering drinks and removing old ones. We were in the patio loved the atmosphere and decor. Bathroom was small and floors wet. Could use more attention. I think if you can overlook the issues and correct those, this would be a fantastic place. read more

We used to love going to Red Hawk because the food quality used to be so good. Tonight we got Stuffed Pretzels that the kids love, and they were empty. A hole, but no cheese...? My favorite restaurant in the Painesville, Concord area! Best combination of great food and great service. Wings are the best I've found anywhere in this area...and I have been trying them everywhere. Chicken Marsala is my favorite dinner item. To begin we had waited 90+ minutes for a table for 7. We were moved out of an area because of a private party (understandable) where we were just standing on the outside edges with our 7yr old. We then noticed several tables left and Jarrod the manager told my boyfriend we have a spot. When looking we thought it was two four top tables. As we waited there was an 8 person table before us that had been there 2 hours waiting. We go to sit at the table and Jarrod thought it was ok to get 7 people at a freaking 4 person round table (48") and then proceeded to say he needed to get a 10 top (that JUST walked in) right behind us where it would fit a normal 7 top comfortable. I told the manager that is ridiculous to shove 7 people at a 4 person comfortable table and then let a 10 top that JUST WALKED IN get a normal table that would fit 7!! As I mentioned several times to the manager this is ridiculous he told us take it or leave it! We said we are leaving and he did not care as I told him again that it was ridiculous and he had to have common sense that we would not fit he attacked me saying I don't know what I am talking about and to leave. Jarrod said then attacked my boyfriend saying I have no clue what I am talking about that I am being ridiculous! Not smart to tell someone that their significant other is wrong! Nice neighborhood restaurant/bar. Great music, but the food is extremely inconsistent. Went with a groups of friends my onion soup was excellent my brother-in-law was served chili out of the fridge, he said it was stone cold. My fiancée had gravy that tasted like it was out of a jar! I feel that they are very careless when serving the food. We were sitting in the bar area, which wasn't crowded, and the dinning room was empty. The Red Hawk is a great place to grab a bite if you're in the area. We were passing through on our way to NY for a ski trip and we stopped off here. First, it's like two places in one, the bar/lounge area is separated from a quaint dining room. We opted for the quieter dining room option. The place had a good ambiance, or vibe to it. The food and service were both outstanding for the price. I had the spicy burger which wasn't overly spicy, but had a little kick. The burger itself was excellent. There were also pierogies, which were home made and also excellent. Overall a very positive experience and I would definitely stop here again. read more
