We're recent transplants and this office came highly recommended when we needed a dentist. My son has a pretty complex tooth issue (extra tooth between the middle two) and we brought him in when he lost his first tooth this week to see if it was time to begin the extraction/repair for that situation. The staff at Dr Marchant's office was very kind and careful with my son. They easily had the opportunity to run up the bill on us requiring X-rays, but were fine using our existing X-rays for another six month...nice since we don't have dental insurance. Dr Marchant was very straightforward and clinical, but I don't see that as a negative for us like other reviewers. I appreciate detailed explanations when it comes to medical issues. We only had a cleaning and exam this visit and it was about $200 (cash price) which seems about average. Yay for no cavities! We'll be back again in 6 months. read more

Dr. Stephanie is by far the best dentist I have ever met! Her hygienist Courtney (or Coco as my 2 year old calls her) is so nice and sweet. They both have made our family so comfortable and informed. They are so kind and reassuring as well. My oldest son was a bit of a handful at age 3 and I was so nervous before our first appointment, but they really understand how to interact with kids and make a pleasant visit. My boys get excited when it's time to go to the dentist. Dr Stephanie came as a recommendation from our pediatrician, so I knew right from the start that we would be in good hands. The front office staff are always happy and smiling- and the "prizes" make the kids leave on a positive note! They love getting tokens and little toys before they leave. (In response to another reviewer being "dropped for illness" I can verify that this is just not true. A few years ago both my boys woke up with pink eye and I called to let them know- they were so understanding about the cancellation, and as soon as a spot opened, they got us in at a later date. It is a good office, clean, nice friendly. The staff is professional. The only thing I really did not like is Dr. Merchant's overbearing attitude towards the parents -- as if she knows better what is best for my daughter. I'm sure Dr. Merchant has the beat of intentions, but by not explaining the treatment details properly, and by forcing her opinion, she is essentially violating the legal guardianship power by essentially overriding everyone else's opinion. We had to cancel and take our child to another office, and now we are perfectly fine. I do recommend this office if you a ant to thoroughly rely on the dentist. No, otherwise. read more

We started here since moving to Redmond 10 years ago and at the beginning it was great -- Dr. Su was wonderful with our kids. The last couple of years we've been scheduled with Dr. Merchant who sin't as great -- her bedside manner is a bit peculiar and she's often quick to blame rather than be focused on resolving the issues. A couple of the assistants we loved have left. They've also changed insurance policies and it's been a struggle to justify the extraordinary prices to go out of network considering the experience. We saw Dr. Merchant. She really needs to work on what's appropriate to tell a 5 year old boy getting his tooth pulled. Going into detail about why it's going to bleed isn't necessary while he's already nervous. They also sent us out the door with no extra gauze and an actively seeping extraction site. We've been to an excellent pediatric dentist in our last city. She always gave us the option of using laughing gas when pulling teeth on them so young and Dr. Merchant just dug in without even clarifying with us. This office is out of network for us but we figured it would be worth it to pay extra. Unfortunately when we got the bill we were blown away with how much more they charge over and above the contracted rates. This is a very expensive office and for the extra money I expected, and have seen, better. read more

First of all, the staff here are really nice, and they are open every other Friday so that's really convenient for those of us who have to work and take the day off to take the little one to the dentist. There are toys. There are stickers. Overall, it's a good experience for the little ones who are just getting used to the idea of going to the dentist. Dr. Su and the dental assistant were both really, really nice to my son and talked to him, not above him. It was nice. With that said, they are not a preferred provider by my insurance and while they were upfront about that, I didn't mind since I didn't want my child's first experience to be overly traumatizing. And to be honest, I figured we were talking maybe $100. Uhm yeah, it was over $220 - for some brushing, flossing, fluoride, and exam. He's only 1.5 years old, so there isn't a whole lot to the "exam" part. Basically, I can either pay for his extracurricular activities or pay for his dental care - and this doesn't include paying for any dental work itself should he need it. If you have insurance they take, or you don't mind paying the cash, I would recommend the staff here. Unfortunately, I have neither. read more

We have used Redmond Kids Dentistry for the past 10 years for both my kids. The past few years getting appointments is harder and harder. Their website is open for new patients but yet there are no appointments available for the rest of the year for existing patients. Covid capacity is being used as an excuse but I noticed this pre-covid. I don't believe in taking my kids out of school for routine dental check ups and school times seem to be the only time RKD is available. Might be time to get a dentist that isn't impossible and unrealistic with schedules. Most of the staff over the years have been nice. read more

We went to Dr. Su for many years. She and her staff were nothing less than professional, friendly, and caring. Our kids actually looked forward to their appointments! I am giving their office a 3-star review because of their insurance policies. My husband switched jobs and Dr. Su's office takes only Premera and Regence. Seriously, just two insurance companies?! His job switch did not affect any of our other medical providers or my own dentist. The out-of-network fees were just too expensive for us to justify staying with their practice, and that was just for regular check-ups. We didn't want to risk ending up paying $$$$ if there was ever anything serious with our three kids' teeth. So if you have one of those insurance providers, go see Dr. Su. Otherwise, keep looking. (Although I have heard a lot of negative stuff about her new office partner, Dr. Merchant. That is too bad.) read more

Easy. Professional. Personal. FUN! We just moved to Redmond and saw many positive yelp reviews for this office, so we decided to give it a shot. Needless to say, both of my kids loved their experience! When we arrived, we were greeted with cheerful office receptionists, who were also very personable and a great play area, including a fish tank!!! When we were called back, the dental hygienist was sweet and very caring, taking the time to really get to know my 7 year old. She explained everything she was going to do, before doing it, and seemed to really enjoy her job. When it was my 2 year olds turn, the hygienist was patient and creative with her tactics. If anyone can get my 2 year old to comply, they are golden in my book! Both boys saw Dr. Merchant after their cleanings and I have to say, she was fantastic. She was happy, positive, and very thorough with her findings. My kids can't wait for their next appointment :-) read more

We have been here for 4 years. All my family loves here. You get warmly greetings at the front desk. I especially love Courtney, the nurse of my kid. She is patient and gentle, what is more, she is funny. She uses many funny words to name the dental tools, which makes the kids feel comfortable and easy. And she is very optimistic. She has thousands ways to soothe kids. Dr. Su is very professional and patient. Also she considers every aspect before she makes decision. She respect our choice and she is funny too! Our experience with Dr. Merchant was not good at this dentistry. We were referred by our family dentistry to have some cavity restoration work done. Casey from reception was super great to schedule us quickly. +1 When we saw Dr. Merchant, she immediately lectured us because she believed we weren't brushing our kids properly, thus leading to this appointment. She assumed we weren't brushing and flossing regularly ask if we brush and floss regularly. -2 We were given a treatment plan but didn't get any explanation of why or how the procedures improves my sons overall dental health. -2. Dr. Su and Dr. Merchant are wonderful. The practice is clean, well run, and friendly. They really know how to treat the children with care and respect. I've been bringing my two daughters here since their first teeth came in. They are now 8 and 9. The staff is always very welcoming and make the girls feel at ease. The doctors always take their time to listen to questions and explain procedures to both the kids and parents. We have regular check ups and cleanings. We have also had a few cavities filled. The only thing they could do better would be take parents as patients too! I highly recommend them for anyone needing a caring pediatric dentist. read more

Drs. Su and Merchant are both great dentists for the kiddos! My son has been a patient here for a few years now and we have never had any problems with service here. All of the staff members are so friendly and accommodating. My son recently had a biking accident and he fell face first on the ground. I was worried that he might have had a hairline fracture in one of his teeth. I was able to get my son in to see the doctor the same day I called! read more

One of my kids is extremely sensitive to pain... Everyone at the office knows this. It's in the charts. However Dr. Merchant saw fit to extract a tooth with NO novacaine. This is how kids turn into adults who don't go to the dentist...bad experiences. If your child needs braces, be warned: Dr Su will refer you to Wisanu Charoenkul, Lake Hills Orthodontics. What she won't tell you is that this is her husband. I expect my dentist to refer me based on my kids' orthodontic needs, not based on her desire to line her own pockets. And if your kid wakes up sick the day they have an appointment, and you opt to keep them at home, you will not be forgiven. You will be "dropped" from their practice. I will say the dental assistants are very good. Caring and kind to the kids. My advice? Keep looking. read more

We have been to Dr Su's office for 11 years with the same wonderful hygienist. They both are great with the kids. She is honest, and caring about the kids oral healt. Unfortunately, our insurance changed to Delta Dental Washington a year ago and with high premiums, it is not feasible for us to continue seeing her and additionally pay out of pocket. I've been taking my two kids to Drs. Su and Merchant since they were toddlers (they are now 11 and 13). I have always been impressed by the front office staff, the dental assistants and of course both doctors. My kids actually LIKE to go to the dentist! My son recently had a problem with a baby tooth that was not coming out even though the new tooth was coming in. Dr. Merchant and John took excellent care of him and got that tooth out even though my son was scared at first. I have not been to this office, I haven't even been given the "chance" and after reading the review from Daddyo D. about scheduling, I won't even bother with this place. I live in Redmond, so one day we received a letter in the mail from this office inviting us to make an appointment. They even gave us a complimentary tooth brush. I told my husband: this Dr. is really selling herself, I liked it. I called to schedule an appointment for my son and they tell me the Dr. is not taking new patients?! Weird. I forgot about this place, then got a recommendation from some neighbors, so yesterday I called to make an appointment. Got the answering machine. This morning they called me, that was nice of them. So I said I would like to take my son and the lady said: "can you come today at 10:30AM?" (It was 9:15AM when she called). I said: "well, no, today doesn't work, but what about next week?" She responded: "unfortunately, we don't have any appointments until November". I said to her: "WHAT?!!" I thanked her and hung up. Not interested in this place at all, we'll find someone who has better scheduling than this. read more

We researched pediatric dentists in the area and loved Dr. Su after meeting with her! She was excellent with our oldest! Our second son has a medical condition and we were worried about dental visits but Dr. Su was amazing with his condition and very patient. I gave this office 2 stars because that was one of the last times we saw Dr. Su whom we specifically chose, instead we have only seen Dr. merchant and her chair side manner is less than desirable! She didn't listen to us when telling her about our sons medical condition and basically told us we were bad parents for not pinning him down and brushing his teeth which would ultimately cause him to have a severe Breath holding spell that goes into a seizure from lack of oxygen. We told her his Neurologist didn't advise this but she dismissed our words and continued on with how we are the parents and need to take charge! The assistant finally said something to her since it was clear she wasn't listening! Then when our 5 year old was having some extensive work done and started panicking she was very firm with him which was fine, then told him he needed to let her know when he needed water and well when he did so she told him he needed to to say please first!!!! I don't really appreciate parenting lessons when my son was under such distress and is actually very polite any other time! This is just a shortened version of several bad incidents with Dr. Merchant! It's to bad that Dr. Su partnered with Dr. Merchant she is really bringing down the professionalism of the office. read more

Redmond kids dentistry is the best. They are so good with my son who has difficulty at the dentist. He has headgear and braces and they are so good at going slow and encouraging him. We no longer work in the area and it's out of the way and inconvenient for us but it's worth it because they are so great!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Redmond Kids Dentistry! They have been absolutely amazing to us and have gone above and beyond when we needed extra help. My son had a traumatic tooth accident late on Friday night. Dr. Merchant and Courtney came into the office late into the evening to help solve the problem. They were both very compassionate and kind. We've been going to them for years and this is the first time we needed someone urgently and they were all available late into the night to help us out. We didn't get back home until after midnight, so I'm quite sure they were even later and yet, they made us feel like it was no big deal, amazing. Above and beyond for sure. We love Redmond Kids Dentistry. Both doctors are amazing!!! You can't go wrong with either one. We had Dr. Su prior to Dr. Merchant joining and loved her. I know there are some past concerns here on yelp about Dr. Merchant, but I am here to tell you that is not the case. Dr. Merchant has an amazing bed side manner and is extremely knowledgeable. She goes above and beyond. Last night my son had an accident that displaced a tooth. Dr. Merchant drove all the way from Seattle to Redmond at 10:45pm to take care of him along with his stressed parents. Courtney joined in the fun and was also phenomenal. This is definitely not the norm at any practice. Dr. Merchant was very caring and considerate. She was a calming presence. Dr. Merchant and Courtney were an amazing team! Dr. Merchant was able to reset the tooth and apply a splint to keep it in place. All because of her willingness to go the extra mile, we have high hopes for a positive outlook with the tooth. They made a rough situation turn into a blessing. Thank you both! read more

If you are looking for a new dentist, be extremely careful dealing with Dr. Su and their dental practice. The trust with Dr. Su is suspect at best. She recommended braces for one of our children, and we came to find out that the orthodontist she recommended, Dr. Charoenkul, is actually her husband. Which is completely fine, but not telling us that ahead of time is a huge problem. Come to find out, our son didn't need braces after all. For a pediatric dental office, they are extremely insensitive to the fears that many children have about dental work. We asked for laughing gas for our child who was sensitive to pain, which was also in his chart, and they pulled his tooth with no gas. It was a TERRIFYING experience for my young son. After searching for another dentist, we have found that many people have left that practice with similar stories of near malpractice in our opinion. The dissatisfaction level is high, and it almost feels like they are a "fast food" dental office. Don't really care about the patients (children), just get them in and out the door as quickly as possible. Furthermore, the office is extremely unprofessional. Nothing worse than having a horrible dental experience followed up by horrible customer service! I only wish that we were fortunate enough to get this information prior sending our children there. Too many other good dentists in the area to take a risk with Dr. Su. read more
