We had a front row table overlooking the pacific thanks to Mehrat who took exceedingly great care of us as did Jesus and Jacob. The food was exceptional and absolutely melt in your mouth sea bass, bread, Caesar salad, carrots, potatoes and creamed spinach. OMG! The blueberry cheesecake was perfectly balanced with the Greek yogurt base and yummy blueberries. Not too sweet, which we liked! The resort is well thought out and is perfect for our adult group in our adult pool cabana. The families had unprecedented food options from poke to pizza to tacos. Truly perfect! There have been a lot of updates since my last visit just last year. New eating space inside, additional cabanas, and the outdoor pool has also had some upgrades with new sun loungers. There's a lot to do and you can easily spend the entire day here, like we did, filled with fun family friendly activities for all ages. $40 each for a day pass, definitely worth the price for all you can do. The food situation was a little disorganized, they are revamping the food scene inside the actual water park area, but I think once it's all done it'll be fine. We had a fun day!

The not so great: Water park is dirty. Hairs all over the floor like chunks of hairs everywhere not just a strand here and there. I was disgusted walking around in my bare feet. Also, during our time someone pooped in the wave pool (like adult size). I get that this is not the hotel's fault but disgusting watching it being taken care of in a biohazard bag and the thought of: is this water recycling throughout the whole park? We left right after that (5pm) so I'm not sure when it was opened back up but I know It was back up and running the next morning. Also, we had a cabana rented. My husband thought it would be nice to be near the bathrooms, but the smell coming from the restroom was horrendous so we luckily were able to move to a new cabana. If it had been any busier, we would've had to stay there or hopefully get a refund. I agree with another review, asking for a dress code because there were some outfits that were extremely inappropriate for such a family and kid friendly establishment. It was so rude and uncomfortable for me and my children! Hotel is under construction as well so parts of both lobby areas are blocked off.

When you first enter the spa building, you are welcomed by a kind receptionist who will lead you on a tour. There is complimentary fruit, teas, water, and snacks at the front. There are also complimentary lockers and fully stocked restrooms (towels, shampoos, hair brush, razors, and lotion) both inside the and outside. Inside there is a beautifully maintained cedar wood dry sauna and a relaxation room with heat mats, blankets, and Himalayan sea salt wall. Outside there is a pool, hot tub, cold plunge tubs, and loungers, which were clean and well-maintained. Weekday mornings are the best--very little people, so you basically have the space to yourself. Past 4pm, there will be lots of families with kids splashing around. There is pool service with food and cocktails--nothing special, but makes the experience feel extra luxurious and relaxing. The grounds and decor are so special, so make sure to walk around to check out the lake and outdoor event venues. Pro tip: The pool and sauna are a little difficult to find if you've never been there before, but there is a designated parking lot past the general entrance to the road on the left.

Chris made the day even more special -- it was my birthday, and he went out of his way to bring me treats and check in on me, all with such a thoughtful, attentive attitude. Main courtyard is full of activity. They offer beach workout and yoga in the morning on the lawn facing the beach. No breakfast included so we bought a $20 breakfast burrito at Sugar Beats which is an Airstream in the middle of a courtyard by the spa. The coffee in the room was good so I had that. They offer surrey rentals to use on the bike path in front of the resort. They have a small but well equipped fitness center. Couple of issues: ants in the bathroom, completely empty shower gel and sink had drainage issues.

They do have a small bar next to the pool, but I didn't venture over there. Towels are at the pool and there is an attendant there who takes your room number when you pick them up. But, they constantly leave and that's a problem as they take your room number when you pick them up! So, I'm hoping I didn't get charged for any towels I returned. On a positive note, the hotel has direct beach access and that was the highlight of our weekend getaway! You can walk directly from the hotel to the sand and you can rent beach at the hotel which is nice. The rest of the hotel, outside of our room was really nice.
