I was driving down Dessau and saw a sign pointing to Red's. I decided to take a chance and follow it! This little food truck offers a wide variety of BBQ options, friendly service, and I'm so glad I stopped. I went for the brisket and some fried okra and was not disappointed. It was delicious! Great food paired with great service make for the perfect food truck!! I ordered a three meat plate with the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket and creamed corn and beans for sides. The ribs were literally falling off the bone, delicious! The brisket was amazing melt in the mouth perfection! The pulled pork was well flavored, but definitely the least impressive out of the three, but paired with some bbq sauce it was great! The creamed corn was tasty, but the beans left a little to be desired. My wife ordered a brisket sandwich and a pulled chicken sandwich and couldn't get enough of either of them! Even the bread was high quality and delicious! She also said the man who was running the cart was kind and helpful! Note to those who don't know, this food truck only takes cash, so make sure you grab some before heading over here! Overall this was a wonderful experience and worth the drive from Austin! I've eaten here twice in 2 days so you know that I think it's good! Yesterday I got a 2 meat plate with pork ribs and brisket to take home. My wife and I both thought the ribs were great. The brisket was good but not outstanding. My wife asked me to go back again today to get her some more ribs and shrimp got ribs and sausage which were both excellent. My wife and I had a great early dinner at this neighborhood bbq joint. It is a trailer situated on a residential lot. Which they've done a lot with. Don't be discouraged from stopping by here. It was clean, inviting and the staff was very friendly. If it wasn't a family business, it certainly felt like one. We ordered an assortment of everything and everything we ate was quite good. Solid assortment of meats and sides to choose from. The bbq sauce has an awesome "Mexican" kick to it. Seriously good stuff. The Frito Pie was excellent. Such an easy thing but it really was great. The fresh sweet tea was also very, very good. We enjoyed our sunny spring evening at this hidden gem and will be back to sit at their picnic tables in the sun very soon. read more

Even offered us samples of their creamed corn. Apparently they've been making brisket for over 15 years at their home and just up and decided to open a food truck outside. They have other offerings but the brisket is incredible. I got a sandwich and it was some of the best brisket I've ever had. A few other in the group got the brisket stuffed potato which made me think if I ever make it back there that is what I'll be going for. I'm always passing the sign while driving down Dessau so thought I would pull in and give it a try. If you're looking for it, at Dessau you turn down Crystal Bend Dr and just go straight, leaning to the left when you hit the split in the road. You will see on your left a set of white metal gates with a bull and rooster statue perched above the gate. Find some street parking and the food truck is right inside the gate. It's pretty much just someone's front yard that's been partitoned off by a fence but that doesn't mean you can't have a quality smoker living on the premises. It's outstanding BBQ! I tried the sampler to get a variety and I had the chicken, brisket, and sausage. All extremely moist and good! I threw in some cream corn and if you are a fan of Rudy's, the cream corn is pretty much an exact replica so you will be right at home here.
