My home fries were regular potatoes mixed with sweet potatoes, good idea I guess, I'm just not big into sweet potatoes and I don't remember if the description mentioned that fact. My crab cakes were also crunchy, as if the shell was mixed in with the meat. My buddy got the chicken and waffles and he and his wife said the chicken tasted dry. Yes for scenery and beers; no for food. This is a great place to enjoy the lake vibes and have a beer. There is a decent draft list. One huge drawback is that even on a nice day in May when you come for the express purpose to sit on the lake there are plastic panels down, which make it feel like you're inside. I really hope they will pull these up for the rest of spring and summer. My waitress was friendly and prompt enough, which I appreciate. The food is extremely lackluster and I was disappointed with being hungry after ordering a $19 "larger plate" crab cake that came with a single cake and no filling sides. We came here for the first time for lunch. We were greeted and seated quickly. The outdoor patio area is fantastic- its covered and enclosed with space heaters, and offers a fantastic view of the lake. The food was excellent. They had an ample kids menu, which is critical when dining with a 5 year old, and the pancakes were prefect for her. I went with the eggs Benedict. The bacon was nice and crispy, the eggs perfectly runny when cut, and the home fried potatoes were well seasoned. Overall a very good meal, and we will definitely come back! read more

A church member/friend of mine who lives in Reston mentioned this restaurant and how great the food was. It is located near the water. The service was great and the food was absolute delicious. We tried some appetizers, drinks, entrees and their homemade strawberry ice cream. YUMMY! The bang bang shrimp on those tortilla chips, crab cake with the large tomatoes in the sauce. Soooo good! Really enjoy this place. Has a great view and the food is always good. Not pictured is the pork belly we got as an appetizer. The fried chicken sandwich was a lot. Actually ended up discarding some of the ciabatta but that's not a bad thing. The risotto was also tasty. Service was a little spotty, not sure if that's because we sat on the patio, but every server working seemed to stop by and be serving us which led to a mixup on a drink order that was easily fixed. Sad to see that another one of my Yelp reviews has disappeared completely. My first visit (about a year ago) was not very stellar either. The service was good, but my food wasn't great. I had their version of the gazpacho and it tasted most like celery and cilantro, nothing tomato-y about this soup. I also tried their fried chicken sandwich and that was blah. It was made a little better by adding mustard that I had requested (the sandwich was condiment-less), but overall, was somewhat bland. I believe it was on a brioche bun and the only thing I tasted was the sweetness of the bread. Fast forward to this past week. I went there for lunch with friends. I ordered the 2 for $20 meal - one app, one entrée, drink. I ordered the buffalo wings and Reuben sandwich. The buffalo wings were spiced with Red's red pepper sauce/seasoning. I wasn't asked how spicy I would like the wings, and they had a little bit of heat to them. The sauce was a little tangy and sweet but the meat itself was bland and the skin was not crispy. The wings itself, quantity wise, was good enough for my main course, but I wanted to try their Reuben. The beef was not seasoned and a little fatty. The Russian dressing was put on hot/toasted bread too soon, so the dressing kind of cooked off and the kraut did not have much flavor either. Service this day was not warm and fuzzy either. While visiting the the Wolf Trap Filene Center, we enjoyed an elevated dinner before our concert. The service was great. We had several staff visit us and check on us while enjoying our dinner. Seems they have HAPPY HOUR everyday including Saturdays and sundays..along with brunch til 4pm. Live music on Saturday nights.. Hosted my best friends bridal shower here and it was a huge success! We had a private room in the back and we were able to set up all the stuff. The food we ordered was delicious - 3 pitchers of mimosas, charcuterie, Brie to start. Everyone ordered off the lunch and brunch menu and no one was disappointed. Superb neighborhood restaurant with seasonal fair, relaxing ambiance and view of the lake. The deck is heated in the winter and has fans in the summer, so I always try to get a seat on the deck, but bring a wrap in the winter as well. The menu changes slightly with the season, but quality is consistently good and we always have excellent service. They have a good selection of local Virginia beers as well and, in the summer, you can't beat ice cold beer with wings and the view of the lake. Food Suggestions: P.E.I.
