It can be hard to find good neighborhood spots in the Northern Virginia area, but this is definitely one. Casual, clean, but with upscale menu and great service. Im a carnivore, but I'm very into the mushroom and oat burger, a vegetarian offering that holds up nicely. read more

Even with new restaurants popping up near the Reston Weihle Metro Station, we keep returning to Reds. What's not to like? Prompt and friendly service, always delicious food (the brussels sprout app Is great every time), lovely view of the lake, and a cozy space to linger for a while with your friends. I have visited Reds Table a few times per month for the past 4 years. It is so convenient for where I work. It is a popular choice for my work happy hours. I come here because I want to like this place so much but can't. It's great to have an alternative to Reston Town Center. The lake side dining is great. The mushroom and rolled oat "burger" is so unique and also wonderful. The downsides.... The dry aged burger is usually small and as described, dry. The draft beer selection is odd (for me). The food is generally over priced. What set me off tonight was I went to order a Cobb salad and was asked if I wanted to "add protein". Cobb salads come with chicken. It isn't a Cobb salad without chicken. Why do I need to add chicken? I can't do this place anymore. It has so much potential but continues to disappoint. Instead go next door to Cafesano. read more

Food, service, ambiance...in that order...or reverse it...doesn't matter, all three are top notch at Red's. Beautiful patio year round, great food, and local beers. Live music too. Skip Reston Town Center and head over to South Lakes Village Shopping Center. Red's Table is a must visit when in Reston. read more

I ordered take out for lunch for two people. The chicken sandwich, which was delicious and the Burreta and Squash. The chicken sandwich is $16 and the Burreta and Squash is $15. Then, I got a side salad with the sandwich. Im attaching photos of both. Here, you see how much of a complete rip off the Burreta and Squash dish is. One picture is the side salad (normal portion) and the other is the smallest, most ridiculous amount of food for $15. I might be extra mad because i wanted the burger and chose something "healthier." Dont make my mistake. Just get the sandwich. read more

This was our second time at Reds Table, we had a great dinner! I booked reservations for Sunday evening and requested an outdoor table in the comments section. When we showed up, we were immediately taken to our table outside, right next to the lake! The serve was attentive and the food was great, I had the catch of the day (the rockfish). Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Red's Table last Friday. The guys arrived early after golf and had a couple drinks at the bar. We had old fashions and they were quite good. The bar was lively and fun. The girls arrived for our dinner reservation and we were promptly seated. We sat out on the patio which is covered during the cold months but it was still a nice ambiance. Their outdoor heaters work great. I would imagine during the warmer months the patio and the view over the lake are fun and hopping. The meal was excellent. We split crab dib and bang bang shrimp for apps. No complaints on either. The guys had burgers and they were outstanding. Fries were delicious. Wives had the beet salad and burrata and they both were great. Only reason I didn't do 5 stars is that service was a little slow. I just think it was a very busy night and they could have used another server or two. But the servers we did have were great. They just didn't come around to check on us as much as we would have liked. But that is just a minor issue. I wouldn't even call it a complaint. We weren't in a hurry so we didn't mind the extra time. But I did see a few other patrons that were a little irritated. Overall I would highly recommend Red's Table for a nice atmosphere, excellent food and drinks. We will be back. read more

Food for our family celebration was all fabulous! And the service was good too. The food used to be not my favorite so I don't know if they got a new chef but it was vastly improved. If you tried it before and wasn't impressed, I recommend that you try it again. read more

Came for a lunch with coworkers and had a nice break on the water. Loved the heated deck because it makes for a cute and really nice lunch on the water :) Had the special which was a mahi mahi salad with an Asian style balsamic dressing, it was sooo delicious and filling! Thanks to Yelp, I secured a nice Yelp Table reservation for our party of 8. We were celebrating a birthday and needed a place in the Reston area. The restaurant is hidden in a large strip mall. Parking was challenging during a very busy Saturday evening dinner hour. There is ample parking if you park away from the restaurants and fast food joints. They seated us in a nice alcove just past the host area. It was almost semi-private and we didn't have to hear the loud noise that many reviewers mentioned. The staffing was just right. The main server had many helpers to dish out bread, fill water glasses and serve and bus our dishes. We were excited to try out the variety of dishes offered. They serve up cute little batches of complimentary cornbread and butter. They were very generous with refilling those batches of bread. For starters we ordered Deviled French Egg Onion Dip served with potato chips. There was really no taste to the dip and they only provided a small amount of chips. We had so much left over dip that we had to request another large batch of chips. We also ordered the Point Judith Calamari. That was lightly fried and included a few pieces of fried peppers. It was a good sized portion. A few of us ordered Clam Chowder and Butternut Squash soup. There was nothing earth-shattering about the soups and one of the soups had to be reheated because it was lukewarm. For our main dishes, a couple of us ordered the Cornmeal crusted Catfish. Although it was a very large portion, again, it lacked in taste. We were definitely passing around the salt and pepper shakers. The remainder of the table ordered the Cut Dry Aged Steak. I was surprised that the price point was quite low($24) and then when the steak arrived, I realized why...it was a very small portion(comparable for the price). We also shared a variety of sides: brussels sprouts, onion rings, and fries. For the most part, the food was good. The service was outstanding. Our server was very responsive and he had lots of help. The manager came over once and asked about the service. It's a nice addition to this little strip mall. read more

I had (hopes for) a quick lunch here while in Reston. While the food was good, the service was very slow and made me glad I wasn't in a hurry. I waited about 10 minutes to order a drink, ordered the cider, and 10 minutes later was told that they were out. I ordered something else and the charcuterie sandwich, which came about 15 minutes later. The sandwich was very good! However, it took about 20 minutes to be checked on, so I asked for the bill as I wasn't sure how long that would take. All in all, a cold sandwich and beverage lunch took nearly an hour and a half. I think I can cross this place off my list for future Reston visits. read more

I love the food here. Took away a star because we sat inside for the first time ever and our table was assaulted by about 5 flies (do yourself a favor always make reservations for the outside covered patio). My boyfriend and I are a little too competitive and started seeing how many we could kill (2 each). Not my normal Red's experience and with the front door opening and closing so often I know it's just nature. So again, book the patio lol! read more

Enjoyed A lunch with a friend the other day! At my new local Favorite! It was excellent service and the Bartenders really know how making a drink! I had the tastiest non alcoholic drink! I had these Goat cheese Fritters that were so good I could have eaten 100! Sorry, forgot to get a picture they had me so forgone! But another note the restaurant is owned by brothers. I walked into the restaurant and was impressed with the attention to detail with the decor! It definitely was a nice surprise based on the outside of the building. They have a nice indoor patio overlooking the lake! You have to come visit! They have live music on some Saturday's, half price wine bottles on Mondays and $6 bloody Mary's and mimosas on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4! I will be back soon! read more

I come to South Lakes Village Center all the time but have never been to Red's Table, but I'm glad I finally tried it. The views of Lake Thoreau are really nice and their outdoor patio is comfortable. We started with the crab dip fritters. My mom liked them a lot but they're not really my thing. It's exactly what you'd expect, crab dip on the inside, deep fried, and served with a kind of apricot compote I believe. Kind of a weird texture for me. For our lunch we both got the baby wedge salad and I got steak with mine. I always forget how much I actually enjoy wedge salads and this salad reminded me! I switched out the blue cheese dressing with ranch and it was perfect. I love the thinly sliced apples on top of the wedges too. The steak was cooked perfectly rare and was seasoned with coarse salt. So yummy! The salads are well priced but I think most other things on the menu would be a little pricey for lunch. But I'll be back for sure! read more

Nice neighborhood spot in South Lakes Shopping Center. Wife had crab bisque and the steak frites - only criticism is the potato wedges she got are not frites... both the soup and the steak were great! I had the duck roll and cheeseburger with onion rings. First thing, it should be duck ROLLS - 3 big fried rolls. Damn good, but together with the rings (which were A LOT OF THEM), I was on fried food overload. My fault, though. My son had clam chowder and the lamb bolognese- he's not big on sharing, but he seemed to like them both. We brought 2 bottles of wine with us - they have a $20 corkage fee. A bit high, but tolerable. Noticed that they have half priced wines Monday's, but their wine selection is somewhat short (or am I a snob? Maybe...) Otherwise, a nice night and nice folks. They have a cool bar, though with covid restrictions that's messed up right now, but the tv's were playing sports, and the heated patio was full. Overall, worth another go! read more

A work colleague remembered a Washington Post review of this newish restaurant in Reston when we were looking for dinner on a bitterly cold Wednesday night. Four of us decided to give it a shot especially since it is located outside of the tired Town Center scene. Red's Table is located south of the Toll Road on a lovely lake but tucked in the corner of a strip shopping center with a terrible parking lot. There was limited parking with cars circling to find spots when I arrived around 6pm. Luckily one of the banks was closed and I was able to find a nice spot in their lot. Once inside things were looking up. I was immediately recognized and welcomed by one of the hostesses. My Yelp reservation was all in order and we were promptly shown to our table. Our table though we quickly discovered was next to the doorway out to the plastic wrapped patio and we would feel a blast of cold every time the door was opened. I was initially bothered by this but forgot about it after a little while probably because I had started drinking a nice locally brewed IPA from Fair Winds. They have a fabulous selection of beers both on tap and bottled. We started with a few appetizers suggested by our server. Their menu is seasonal and changes every month or two but the calamari we picked is a regular on it. It came in a casserole like dish with a smoked red tomato sauce and a I don't know white seafood(?) sauce. Super yummy and gone in a flash. We also ordered some oysters and cocktail shrimp. I skipped the oysters but the others loved them while the cocktail shrimp was your typical fare. I'm not sure there is much one can do to jazz up cold shrimp although the accompanying red sauce had a little kick to it. Next time, I would just get two orders of the calamari. For my main dish, I chose Papa Weaver's Pork Chop and apple sauce. Everyone else selected the Shellfish Cioppino also recommended by our server. I wasn't asked what temperature I would like for the chop but it came out probably medium with a little bit of pink in the center. Very well prepared and tasty. The apple sauce was lovely and a little more savory than traditional sweet. I thought the portion though could have been more generous as I ran out of sauce before I was done eating the chop. My dish was also served with a nice winter vegetable ragout all chopped up into little cubes. I enjoyed but I think that portion may have been too large and I tired of eating it towards the end. My friends seafood dishes looked tasty and very messy. One of them commented that a spoon would have been nice to slurp up the remaining sauce. Service throughout the evening was good and not so good. The hostess was pleasant and helpful. I liked that our server talked about the restaurant and the menu with us and shared his favorites. The not so good are the little things that make or break a great meal. The bread brought to the table only had three pieces in it for the four of us. When the apps arrived, we didn't have plates and had to wait a few minutes to get them. My water glass was always empty and I constantly had to ask for a refill. Would we return again? Most definitely. There are some other items on their menu that I would like a crack at. It wouldn't take much to notch up the table service but I am not sure what to do about the parking headache. Perhaps it was an anomaly that evening but next time I'll bum a ride with someone. read more

Don't understand why such low reviews from some. We had the best time. Great service and even better food. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Lunch menu is a bit small but, it's lunch menu, they are always kind of short. But boy did the food impress me! Amazing apps, and main entree. I keep thinking about that steak frites. I cannot recommend enough as this place has it all. Great views too. And reasonably priced, especially for Reston. Give it a shot, we will def be back. read more

Been to Red's Table a number of times now, it is often busy on the weekends but the food is worth it. Absolutely delicious.
