Poor service and marginal food at best. They have an automatic 20% gratuity plus a gratuity tax on every tab, so no reason for the servers to offer any level of hospitality. We did ask the server for alternate side order options, but we were told "No, we can't do that!" without them ever going to the kitchen or checking with a manager. Also noticed shrinkflation has set in since our last visit. As a result, this will be our last visit. read more

This place is good, but I don't really get the hype. They used to have free mimosas for Sunday brunch, but not anymore, which means there isn't as much to set this place apart from other brunch spots. They DO still offer a featured breakfast bread (think cinnamon rolls or coffee cake) for the table free of charge during Sunday brunch. Normally in my experience, the food here has felt very heavy and greasy. Today I went for something a little "lighter" hoping to evade that - I had the rotisserie turkey sandwich and lobster bisque. Both were really good. The turkey wasn't dry, and the basil aioli was flavorful without being overpowering. Redstone's lobster bisque is actually made with a lot of real lobster meat in it. Two thumbs up. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Part-way through the meal I asked for a lemonade, and it never came out. A couple of times a server would come over, notice me, and say the lemonade was on its way from the bar. The server said this again as we were getting ready to leave, but by then I had to be "that person" who just awkwardly says "actually never mind, I'm good." They seemed a bit understaffed, so it wasn't the servers' fault but still made for a bit of an inconvenience. The food is good overall, but for its price point, Redstone is a bit underwhelming. Stopped in for lunch with a large group of colleagues. The wait staff was very attentive and drinks and appetizers came out fast. The jalapeño cornbread is a must-order as is the fried shrimp and calamari. At the recommendation of a colleague I ordered the Parmesan crusted walleye sandwich. It was my first time trying walleye and it will not be my last! Super moist and held up well to the sandwich ingredients. We ate here last night with friends, and boy, am I glad we did. We both were commenting that while there are many restaurants in the Maple Grove shopping area, we've left less than impressed with a fair number of them. That was until last night! We stopped in late and decided that it might get too cold for the ladies on the patio, so we chose to eat inside. The restaurant is nicely decorated with dark woodwork and a warm, dark color palatte. It's an intimate venue. Our booth really was too small for the four of us, but it made for close seating and conversation. The bar had two large glass vases filled with pineapple and vodka, for the restaurant's signature Pineapple Doli drink, a pineapple-infused vodka martini. We had both a pineapple and strawberry doli. They were sweet, but not overpowering. You certainly didn't feel that you were drinking alcohol. The restaurant is known for their apple wood-smoked rotisserie chicken. One in our party ordered that - half a chicken, with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. He loved it. The rest in our party ordered the prime rib au jus sandwich, the short rib burger, and I had the Chicken Fiesta Pasta - a hearty and delightful mixture of spinach linguini, tomatillos, cilantro, rotisserie chicken, and peppers, with a spicy alfredo cream sauce. It was served with two delicious pieces of garlic bread, perfect for mopping up the pasta sauce. It was messy to eat, but wonderful. Don't let this place fool you. You think it's going to be like every other suburban restaurant you've been to. It's not. The food was original, fresh, plentiful, and delicious. The prices were what you expect. You'd pay similar prices at Granite City located in the same parking lot. Yet, the food here was pretty spectacular. Every one of us enjoyed it immensely. The service was okay. Not tremendous. Our server seemed like he'd rather be serving someone else. Every time he came to the table he was looking around, rather than at us. Still, he kept our water glasses full, and promptly responded to our requests. I would definitely eat here again. In a second. The restaurant looks to have a lot of nooks and crannies... different dining areas, which is nice. Back off to one side, there looked to be a dining area with stone walls. There is a large bar in the very center of the restaurant. The kitchen is open and you can take a peak inside as you pass by to use the restroom. Male sports fans will appreciate the television sets located above the urinals in the men's room. There's also a large outdoor patio that looks like a wonderful place to enjoy drinks or a meal when the weather is cooperating. We were very impressed. When seated for happy hour, we hinted about the happy hour details. Several minutes later we got the HH menu consisting of $2 off beer and wine, no well drink specials, and a very short list of food. Firecracker shrimp I say, and a beer. After a long wait, a beer and wine showed up. Then a while later, about 9 small shrimp on a plate. What?!? Surprised at how long it will take to get beer even though we were next to the outdoor bar and the place not busy. The two of us had 2 wines, 1 vodka, 3 beers, 2 happy hour food snacks. Bill comes to over $99! What??? The server admits that 2 of the 6 beers weren't mine, and removes them and my new total is $82! Luckily someone in our party pointed out that our check had included an 18% gratuity. I get that this is common for large groups. We were a bunch of couples and no one expected this. Won't be back. I came here with a large group for a work event the first time and with a smaller group the second time. The service was great for the size of our party. I absolutely LOVE the Buffalo Shrimp appetizer! The bruschetta was yummy too!! I wasn't a fan of the corn bread but a lot of people in our party liked it. The salad was pretty good. It was some sort of mixed salad with olives, cucumber, tomato and balsamic vinaigrette I believe. Unfortunately the ribeye that I ordered medium came out bland, well done, and dry as hell! The mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious luckily. The second time I came here I had the salmon and I requested it medium rare and of course it came out almost well-done. How can you charge so much for something you can't seem to get right? Anyway, the Moscow mules are decent and they have a great wine selection. read more

The service and food here is amazing!!! The "chicken and ribs" were delicious and large portions to boot! The asparagus was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Red potatoes were to die for! My wife had the wood fire salmon. It was also equally delicious! (See pics) The tomato bisque soup and the corn bread were both the best we've ever had! We follow Redstone on IG and have heard so many great things about it so we decided to give it a try on our date night. The lighting is dim when you walk in but works well at the tables. We were greeted at the door and didn't wait long for a table. The server was quick to our table and got our drinks to us right away. We started out with the buffalo shrimp. The shrimp were very meaty with the right amount of buffalo sauce. The blue cheese that was served with it was not overly pungent. My wife isn't a big fan of blue cheese but she really enjoyed the blue cheese that was served with the shrimp. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich Tennessee style. The sandwich had great flavor and the slaw and pickle combo worked perfectly together. We also got the BBQ short rib with Korean barbecue sauce. This sat on top of carrot and cauliflower purée topped with honey glazed Brussels sprout slivers (2 little slivers) and fried onion pedals. Now the rib and purée were amazing. We couldn't get enough of it. I would have liked a little more Brussels sprout to really get a taste of it. We also ordered 2 sides, asparagus and Mac and cheese. The asparagus flavoring was amazing. Well seasoned with a smoke flavor, but the price of $9 for 5 stalks was not worth it. The Mac and cheese was good, not spectacular. Overall the food was good but not for the price point. Another chain like place in Maple Grove, wow I'm surprised! I know this is different and is a nice addition to the neighborhood but I just wish it was a little different than the others. Now they do have a really nice outdoor patio and bar and the restaurant indoor is very nice with that dark wood supper club feel to it. My only issue is that it is really not the different than so many other places. If I wanted to go out and have a $46 steak for dinner and a very nice bottle of wine I would have a really hard time deciding between Redstone and Pittsburg Blue. That would go for about 3/4's of the menu actually, I can find those dishes within a five block radius at 2 or 3 other places with at least one of those being the same amount of money and the other one or two being cheaper. Now I know price doesn't guarantee quality but here it seems to and that's a good thing. There are more then enough people in Maple Grove clamoring to come in and drop $150 for a steak and a glass of wine so I'll let them enjoy. I'll drop in for a drink and some good snacks on the patio during the summer months and spend my dining dollars in a different manner. KT read more

We stopped in for a family dinner. It was a cold evening so I was surprised at how packed and busy they were. Luckily we had made reservations and were seated immediately. Our waitress was over quickly to introduce herself and go over dinner specials. Our drinks were brought out fast and we placed our orders. I was able to try their Lobster Bisque to start. So delicious! There was a great amount of lobster meat in the soup which made this girl extremely happy! For my main course I went with the crab cakes. My smile did not disappear from my face as the crab cakes were perfect. They had fantastic seasoning and on the French fries which accompanied them. The service was top notch for the entire evening. Our drinks were always full and a smile on her face! The only oddity of the evening was their lighting. I don't have an issue with my eyesight but I had to turn my phone into a flash light to read the menu. I do understand you want a specific ambiance but it didn't need to be that dark. I love the Minnetonka location and was very excited to try the new MG location. I ran in for a quick business lunch, and like always the Gouda fondue was awesome. The flat bread pizza was good, but not as crispy as normal. The reason the 2 stars is please don't serve me brown lettuce. Old and nasty and we all can see its brown? I ordered a simple wedge salad. This place gets 3 stars because my dish was pretty good. My sister was having a birthday dinner here, our first time. We called and made reservations for 14 four days in advance. They called us the day of her dinner to confirm we were still coming and if it was still party of 14. I told them yes. Got to the restaurant and they had the table set for 10! I specifically said 14!! I asked the waiter what happened he said "we are fully booked I cannot pull a table up but we can squeeze in and add chairs" are you serious right now???!! If I had known this I would've cancelled my reservations. We all squeezed in. I was a bit annoyed at this point. I ordered the grilled Cajun salmon, with mango salsa, broccoli, and rice pilaf. It was delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly & full of flavor. Sadly this is the only positive thing I have to say. We needed a few water refills, asked our waiter he said he would come back with a pitcher. Waited 10 min, still NO water! He was too busy trying to cater to the 2 couples sitting in out area. We asked him again for water....10 min later...nothing!! At this point I'm ready to just walk out. After eating our dinner with NO water he decides to come over when we are finished to refill our beverages. THE WORST SERVICE for such a nice restaurant! I don't care how busy it gets, don't forget about your customers. I work in customer service I know how it gets but I never fail to make each & every one of my customers feel special & like I didn't forget about them. Last but not least, he messes up our bill. I called the Maple Grove location and asked if they had a quiet, private room that our family could use to gather before my mother's funeral. I spoke to a manager, who told me yes, they could accommodate our group. She specified that we had a 6:45 pm reservation on Friday in the private room, and that she would waive the $2,500 minimum that was usually required. She was very nice. So - our group of 10 arrived at the designated time on Friday 2/21, only to be told by staff that they had no idea what we were talking about! They were unable to give us the private room that we requested because it was already in use. I couldn't remember the name of the manager I had spoken with, but it was beside the point since they couldn't give us the private room anyway. A manager said she'd look into what happened, but she never came back to the table or tried to straighten it out. So - we had to sit in an open dining area. Redstone's acoustics are pretty bad, and the dining room was very loud. We were unable to converse about funeral planning as we intended to do. We could hardly hear the person across the table. Redstone is not cheap. At the end of the night we had spent quite a bit of money. Management couldn't even so much as comp us a dessert after all the issues we had. I am very disappointed. Redstone used to be our go-to place, but this has really changed my attitude toward them. read more

This is one of my beautiful wife and mine's favorite go-to places! My wife and I ate here yet again tonight, and it was AWESOME again as usual!!! I had my go-to favorite, The Classic Roasted Chicken, and my wife opted for the fillet rather than her usual grilled meatloaf (also yummy!) as a treat. My chicken was incredible as I expected, not needing any more seasoning, and my wife medium rare fillet was cooked perfectly!! One tip: the mashed potatoes are really good, but you might want to add some butter, so just ask for it! Had we been even more hungry or had another couple with us tonight, we would had added and split the AWESOME Buffalo Chicken Shrimp appetizer (six shrimp, a meal in itself) which we've had many times before and weLOVE IT! Came here with a larger group of 14 for a friend's birthday dinner. I didn't make the reservation but was told that they had tried to call earlier to update it from 12 to 14 but it was apparent they didn't pass the message on since our table was set up for 12. Waiter was a bit frazzled and kept on saying repeatedly that due to the number of reservations we can't add another table, which we got and we accomodated and said we would make it work, no big deal, so not sure if there was a gap in communication with the staff and he was trying to make up for the mistake? Not sure...We fit just fine with room to spare, we don't mind being a little cozy, we are all friends here! This is my third time to Redstone, first time was at the original location in Eden Prairie. I have no complaints about the food, each time though service has been subpar. They are always busy, especially with the location smack dab in the middle of Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove (smart move) so I feel like servers rush or seem frazzled. This time was the same deal, he was nice enough, but you can tell there were issues. Normally, knowing how the restaurant biz works, when you put orders in, the runners know where to go with the dishes since most restaurants number them off. There was a lot of starting off at the wrong side of our table or giving someone the wrong dish. Again, might have been an off night for the server, who knows? If I was just rating the food, this review would be for 4 stars. Each time I've eaten here, anything I have is pretty good. One of my favorites is their Rotisserie chicken chopped salad, please add blue cheese crumbles! Comes with golden raisins and cornbread croutons (yummy!). Very sizable portion, I ate every last bite and the price is good at $14.95. Decor wise, looks similar to Axel's, if you've been there, but love to see the chicken rotating in the rotisserie, so good! If you plan to come on a weekend, no matter if it is a holiday or not, this place is always packed. Each time I've come, it's been in the winter, They have a nice patio area that I would like to try when it's warm out. Holiday special they have a butternut squash soup (didn't get it this time) but I've gotten it the other two times I've been here and it's delish! I love me some Redstone. Between Redstone and Pittsburgh Blue, Redstone definitely has the advantage of a diverse and fun menu. The bone in ribeye was very tender and juicy as expected. Cedar plank salmon also came out very nicely done with good flaking but the real flake-master of the evening was the Chilean sea bass. It was definitely comparable to what I have at Cafe and Bar Lurcat. It is what I recommend as an entree. read more

One thing that really makes Redstone stand out to me is their service. I've always had above average experiences with all members of their staff. Their food is superb, and well worth the cost. My parents love coming here for special occasions from St. Cloud (there really isn't another place that compares to it in Central Minnesota). The fondue is amazing, and they always have a great selection of specials. The only bad things about this place is the impossible parking lot on busy nights and the weird location of their bathrooms (you have to walk in the middle of the kitchen/food running area). read more

I used to go to the eden prairie one quite often when I worked that way, but now this one is closer to me. I don't care for the location though. The patio is a waste as you're practically sitting on the side of a busy road. Nothing like eden prairie's amazing outdoor patio. Although I've had just about everything they offer, I settle on a few favorites. The buffalo shrimp is required. I could honestly just order 3 orders of them as a meal. My friend from Oregon insists we go to Redstone the minute he lands for the buffalo shrimp. It's reason enough to come here. They also serve up one of my favorite drinks in the world: the stoli doli. You will see the giant glass jugs that have a perfectly fitting pineapple inside. The pineapple infused vodka tastes just like pineapple juice, which I love. The pure alcohol drink is what many women would call "dangerous". I call it amazing. read more

We were here several weeks ago with a group and our experience and food were ok. We thought to give it another try just the two of us. My husband ordered a house salad and the crusted walleye. He could see his salad sitting at the kitchen counter for about 20 minutes which was disappointing. I ordered a special - short rib gnocchi. No thanks - watery, blah on the gnocchi and overall bland. My husband agreed mine was not good at all. I ate some of the short rib and left the rest. My husband's entree was delicious, however. They offered a complimentary dessert or to send something else with us to make up for the meal, but left the bill as was. We took nothing as we were off to the movies. So, mixed reviews. If we go again, I'll be getting the walleye! Also, they cannot control the temperature setting very well - freezing, hot, freezing, hot, etc. Wear layers! read more

The manager come over to verify all was good once two Of our party of 7 waited an extra 15 minutes for their meals. Nothing was offered as a discount or anything. We even took time to speak with the Manager as we left and honestly he could have cared less. That is not what you expect from Management at this level of a restaurant. My one complaint would be the cost. Way overpriced for the quality. I mean the steak is better than something you would order at Applebee's, but not $44 better. I will say the service was amazing and something you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. First things first: Nick is probably the most professional server I've ever encountered. He knows the menus, his delivery is polished and grateful and he is very attentive. We started with the crab and avocado wontons. Beautiful presentation. The bed of kale and beet salad was very flavorful, but I can't say as much for the wontons themselves. My garlic spinach flatbread was fantastic. I love garlic but am glad it didn't overpower the dish here. There was a perfect balance of spinach, artichoke, garlic, and cheese. The whole thing was incredibly fresh and we both enjoyed it. I also ordered an app-size Caesar salad. Eh... It was just okay. Either the dressing didn't have enough flavor to be noticed or there wasn't enough dressing. I was never able to put my finger on it. My husband ordered a prime rib sandwich (glorified French dip), which he said was good, but that Granite City makes a better one. He did say the loaded baked potato he ordered as a side was impressive and tasty. We both drank water. It's not a big deal to us to spend $70 at a place like this, especially considering the service Nick provided. But honestly, I don't think we got $70 worth in flavor on our plates. read more
