23 years ago we had our wedding at a golf course, we don't remember which one it was until I searched on the net for all golf courses near me. This Redwood Canyon showed up, but not on the front page. I checked out the golf course website and decided to play here on a Thursday. Amazingly this one is the one I had my wedding 23 years ago. This golf course is so beautiful, I have to say it's the best kept secret of the East Bay. The course is a short or average 18 holes, but it's not easy. The fairways are actually narrow so you have to hit straight, easy to lose balls in the rough or the hills or the creeks. The fairways are well kept, green and beautiful. Every hole is a scenery of trees and canyon, so beautiful with some bambi walking around but also some rattlesnakes too so watch out when looking for balls in the bushes. The greens are so well kept but somehow every hard to put, none of the holes are flat, all curvy like a dome although they're not breaking badly, just not flat, sometimes like sitting on a dome, balls can roll either side of the holes. The price is amazingly inexpensive, the membership club is only $40/year, yes, year not month and you get discounts on everything, especially green fees. Just a few rounds, it's paid for. For Seniors like me, after 62, it's only $27 walking at this time, perfectly for walking, exercising 2 times a week without breaking the bank. Thursday special LOL. There's a women club that starts at 9-9:30AM, if you play after this time, it's a little slow until the 10th holes because they finished at the 9th holes most of them. My Verizon iPhone 15 had no signal through out the golf course, some ATT phones had some signals but not all holes. Anyhow, looking at the gate going into the wedding area, I remembered my happiest day of my life 23 years ago. Wow, time flies. read more

They would have received a perfect score except one of their workers unfortunately left me with a bad impression. I had just finished a round of golf with my friends Monday afternoon 3/17 between 2:30pm - 2:55pm. After returning my cart I rushed to the rest room to find a female custodian mopping the floors. Mind you we've been playing for the last 4-5 hours. I swiftly said excuse me as I walked behind her. To my surprise she yells, "You're not even going to say excuse me?!" repeated this 3 times as I apologized if she didn't hear me but went on with her attitude anyway. There was another golfer in the restroom who felt that was absolutely unnecessary he heard me but it was apparent she didn't. Needless to say it will be the first and last time me and my friends organize our tee time here. Never experienced anything like this at any golf course in the world! Maybe aim that energy to your mop next time cause the bathroom was absolutely disgusting! A good time ruined by a rude staff member. My Bay Area golf tour continues, and this past weekend we decided to play Redwood Canyon for the first time. We booked our tee time the day before and were able to get a late morning tee time. For a weekend round with a cart it was $77 a person, which for a weekend rate, is one of the lowest you'll find for an 18-hole course. The course is relatively flat, so taking a push cart or walking is totally doable. For me, it's like the east bay's version of Poplar Creek, but with tighter fairways. The course is challenging enough where you have to be straight off the tee in order to score well because misses left and right bring the water into play on almost every hole. Nestled in the hills, you get some amazing views and scenery throughout. Playing the middle tees, if you are a long hitter will leave a lot of short irons/wedges into the greens. All the par 5s were reachable in 2 shots. The greens (aside from 9) were in really good shape and rolled pretty quick. The only bad side I think is that pace of play is really slow. We waited on pretty much every hole and clocked a 5hr round. Some of the par 4s are drivable, which means you have to wait for the green to clear so it's safe to hit. There's a few holes where you have to keep your head on a swivel because golfers are hitting errant shots that may land on the wrong hole. Overall though, really enjoyed playing here and worth crossing the San Mateo bridge for to play, especially since the greens are in great shape. read more

Played a threesome today. Starter was friendly, golf cart was clean. Men's bathroom needed some attention: no paper towels and didn't smell very nice inside. Not busy on the course so we finished in 3.5 hours. Course was in good shape... greens were nice, tee boxes were clean. The creeks were full so had to be careful or your ball was gone. read more

Golf course was decent, tee boxes were a bit mangled, $75 for 18 holes and carts is a bit pricey. My biggest gripe is with the staff. This is my first encounter with a rude starter. Our tee time was at 7:30, we got to the box at 7:29. The old white guy was rude and cold, first thing he said to us was "almost missed your tee time, that's poor time management". The second time at the course and was shocked our starter was so rude compared to my first experience. Then I told him "the line inside was moving slower than expected" and the guy replied "excuses". This was one of the few negative experiences my group and I had that day. Another instance is when we were told by the marshall we needed to speed up the pace of play bc we're 2 strokes behind... In reality it was the group in front of us that were moving slowly. We were moving to a drivable green par 4. Had to wait till the group in front of us moved off the green as our group drove the green to the front fringe. Sped up our pace of play and were sitting behind the group in front of us to tee off on the next hole. Lastly, there were a few times in the bistro that some older white men were just flat out rude. Cutting in front of us because we're a big group of brown young adults. The older white folk didn't want to wait their turn in line Probably won't be returning to this course unless it's a last resort. read more

Honestly this course is trash as it used to be my home course and I moved to corica. The greens are insanely slow rolling at about a 7.5 and everything about this facility sucks. They never have range balls and the staff are HORRIBLE. They are very mean and don't have any courtesy. The putting and chipping green are mixed it is insanely slow and firm. The tee boxes are alright some are a bit fuzzy my. This course is very short, but has an insanely tough front nine. There is pretty much ob on 80% if the holes in the front nine both sides. Fairways r fairway and slopey. Good thing about this course is you can sneak on it pretty easily and no one will notice and usually pace of play is pretty fast. But still, this course is terrible. Par 71 front nine rating of 35.1 from the tips at a par 35. read more

This is a value pick, I can't remember exactly but it was around $75 with a cart to play a round which is a solid deal. The course was nice too, but it wasn't super well kept. Good enough for the price point. The course play was moving well and the course difficulty was decent. Overall good experience and would come back because of the price. We went a couple days after it had rained and there were some nasty puddles, so the irrigation could have been better, but I'm sure it's just fine in the spring and summer. read more

I have been golfing at this local course for several years and this is the best I've seen it look and play. After a long irrigation upgrade and some TLC maintenance the fairways are green and lush, minus a few spots still transitioning. The greens are also looking better and less brown patches then in previous years. The price to play is also very reasonable ranging from $28 -$48 depending on day/time. They also offer lessons, tournaments and non-golf activities, like concerts on the grass and host a wedding venue and restaurant. Overall this hidden gem golf course is really looking up and I hope it continues. read more

I've been playing at Redwood for 7+ years years and never was I forced to ride with a random golfer. I prepaid for 18 holes and a cart. Upon arrival, the older gentleman at the pro shop paired me with a random SICK player. Unbelievable. I paid $25 for a solo cart not a shared cart and if I were to share a cart it would definitely be with someone I know. These fees are stated on their site. I asked the gentleman why I was being paired with this person, and he proceeded to lecture me about how that was a COVID rule, urging me that it's good to have "golf friends". This random cart pairing never has happened. The pro shop usually assigns a single cart to solo players (Which I paid for). I don't need a history lesson. I want to play golf! This is not the first time I've read complaints about this "golf savant". If customers complain this much about this guy, just imagine how his coworkers feel about him. read more

Played a full 18 on Saturday starting at 8:20am and can say this course was another one to check off my list. The pro shop lead was cool and friendly. Got a bucket to practice but the machine got stuck and they had to help. Pace of play: Good overall, we had a good group infront and after us and we played well enough to not have any issues. Course was overall scenic and good balance of trees, creeks, and nice fairways. The greens had just been aerated a week prior so it worked out nice. Some areas are narrow and you'll have trouble if you hit your ball in some areas. Loved the balance of wildlife too and saw some cool squirrels near tee boxes. My only sad part was I couldn't enjoy an end of round meal and beer with the group. I had asked the restaurant if they use peanut or peanut oil in their food, as I was severely allergic, and the waiter wasn't sure. It seemed as if he was going to double check but he hesitated and just told me "I don't know and not to risk it..." Bummer. Besides being hungry I would probably come back. Maybe just pack my own hotdogs and burgers instead lol. read more

Great Course with a Fun Twist - But Staff Experience Could Improve This is a beautiful and well-maintained course. The greens are in excellent condition with hardly any patches, and everything feels clean and inviting. One of the coolest parts is the driving range--you actually get to hit balls into the water, which makes practice way more fun and memorable. The only downside was my experience at the pro shop. I arrived just a couple minutes late to my tee time--yes, that's on me--but instead of a simple heads-up or friendly reminder, the staff member immediately gave me a cold, condescending attitude. He told me I was breaking one of the "golf commandments," and it didn't feel like a joke. It came across as patronizing and unnecessarily harsh, especially since I was trying to check in quickly and get out of the way. I get that tee times matter, but there's a better way to handle late guests without making them feel unwelcome. It left a bad impression and honestly made the start of my round a little sour. Thankfully, the rest of the day was much better. The guy working at the café was super friendly and made me feel right at home. This is a beautiful golf course. Got a deal online for 18 holes for $55 (for 2 people with a cart included). The service was amazing and they were all very kind. Course was clean. We got held up a bit by the people in front of us, but it seemed like everyone was a bit held up. Back 9 hot dog was delicious. I will definitely be golfing here again. read more

This has been our home course and we've been coming to this place for almost 3 years now. We've been a Canyon member ever since and enjoyed this course. We played 18 holes today and even though the weather was gloomy and cloudy, we finished 18 holes without any rain. The pace of play was decent and we're not falling behind the group in front of us. There's a group behind us and this one guy was hitting his drive pretty far. On a par 4, when we're about to walk off the green, his ball landed a few around us. When he reached the green, he approached us and was apologetic. On some tee boxes, they're repairing or replacing the brown grass and preparing for the winter months. For a high handicapper, you'll enjoy this course. It has all the elements to practice both your driver and iron shots. Just be careful not to get your ball off the fairway, the grass is thick and will be hard to reach the greens in two. I always enjoy playing here and the staff are very friendly and courteous. read more

This course is the perfect place to get good. The narrow fairways and small greens force you to focus on your accuracy. I've met some pretty cool golfers here. Even the Bill, Tom, Dick, and Harry are down to earth! Can you believe that?! I'm unsure why there are so many negative comments about customer service. LMAO. I reviewed this spot over a decade ago but it was called Willow Park then. I'm assuming new owners thus new name/image. To their credit the place does show some improvements but more on the building/amenities than the actual course. Actually the course layout is exactly how I remembered it, but a nice upgrade in greens keeping. The course is in a valley inside a canyon setting. So fairly flat but you're completely surrounded by hills which make it very scenic. Every fairway is tree-lined which is pretty but also quite challenging. A small creek runs on the right side for much of the course, so you have to know how your shot works, either wise you'll run into that creek often, or knocking it around the trees that guard the fairway. Quick rating: Tee Boxes: (3.5*) Level and large. Even though chewed up, there's lots of room to choose where to tee it up. Fairways: (3.5*) Most are nice. But also many spots where it is dead grass or worse just bare dirt. It's a cheaper public course, so this is actually more on par (pun intended) than not. Heavily tree lined so bonus if you hit these fairways and penalizing if you don't. Simple enough. Greens (4.5*) Really good shape. Consistent and fairly quick rolls. Pay attention to downhill putts, you many end up off the green again. No super large greens either that you'll see in links style golf. This is American tree lined golf. The prices are super reasonable for 18 holes. We like to play in the late afternoons aka Twighlight for about $40 with a cart. Traffic is thicker on the weekends, so don't expect a fast round then. I guess my only real knock is very poor yardage markers. Not even color coded poles. You actually have to look on the ground for the 200/150/100 yard markers, which is not efficient. I'm just going to get a range finder, since getting back into golf this year, most courses seem to be going away from traditional markers. Still haven't tried any significant food or sat in their bar/restaurant area, except for that quick hot dog which was suffice. But looking forward in hanging out more as this seems to be where we will be choosing to play most of our 18 hole sessions, since Sunol and Skywest are no longer around. Boooo. read more

I used to play here when it was Willow Park golf course. I didn't like it then & I didn't care for it today (Tuesday). My friend made tee time for two foursomes. 8am & 8:10am today. I checked in at the pro shop. He emphatically said no tee time under my friend's name; therefore no game. I gave him the first name & the last name. He scans the computer monitor. Then he stumbles through & spots both our friends' names. I paid with my credit card by tapping it. It shows approved. As I'm walking away I'm called back. He said it didn't go through. I tapped again. This time he said it went through and I'm given a receipt. I went outside and logged into my credit card account online. It shows two $35 pending transactions. I go back in to inform him. He says why don't you play your round of golf and come back. I returned after my game. He says the system admin says they were experiencing problems. But he's not in now. I said I'll just file a credit card claim. He says they want to make it right. Send them an email with my documents. At this point I'll deal with it when I get my statement. Would you want to play here after dealing with all the hassle? The course itself was poorly groomed. Not much fairways. Greens were fast. Cart path gravel. Lots of pot holes. Many of the golf carts had the full plastic windshields that didn't have the option of folding it down. The windshields were dirty. I tried to clean ours with paper towels. Still embedded dirt. The cart interiors were dirty. The seats ripped. The only plus was the green fees. $25 senior plus $10 cart fee. read more

I will never be golfing here again as I have never dealt with a more disrespectful Pro-shop worker in my life. For starters, I showed up 15 minutes before my tee time to which the worker (Jason; balding with a mustache ~60 y/o) unprovoked starts lecturing me about how showing up late is not fair and threw a lot of shade while mentioning we would need to skip a hole or two for this... We pulled up to the tee box at our exact tee time and Jason made sure to send the group after us for our slot (they couldn't even tee off as there was a party on the fairway). After teeing off and proceeding to play our round, this fool shows up in a cart around the 6th hole bitching about our speed of play. The party behind us wasn't even on our hole and there was a slight gap between us and the group in front. He then sat on our hole and watched us play the hole. My friend who is slightly newer to golf got embarrassed/confused and picked up his golf ball to sit out the hole. This ruined his mood and he didn't want to continue past 9... (waste of $61 each imo) Any patron that treats the course respectfully and follows golf etiquette like we did should NEVER receive treatment like this. My only two guesses for receiving treatment like this is he assumed we are disrespectful for being young (mid 20s), or he is a racist asshole. I recommend you play your round elsewhere. Here's what a recent Next Door review posted about what happened at this golf course. Seems unacceptable to me if true. CV Golf Players Beware! Policy change at Redwood Canyon GC. This past Sunday myself and my wife, as we have done in the past 20 years, booked a time (this time at 11 o'clock am). We were never told at the booking time that they booked a youth tournament occupying the course for most of the day. Half way through the game, of course, we couldn't play ahead anymore and had to quit. I talked to the new GM about this and asked for some credit for at least nine holes. Here is what he said: It is the responsibility of the person making the tee time, and not the GC person taking the reservation, to know if you would be able yo finish. He said any player playing on the weekend should know that there are tournaments at Redwood Canyon every weekend! So beware! Ask before you reserve a weekend tee time at Redwood Canyon because it's your responsibility to know if you can finish your round or not! read more

A really nice track in the east bay hills. Challenging but fair. A shot makers course. A rolling picturesque course nestled in a canyon lacking the usual homes that seem to look down in every course these days. A Saturday tee time was running 8 minutes behind. The staff was a bit stressed and trying mightily to keep play at pace. The practice facility is just okay with all shots fired into a pond. At least the balls come out clean. I'd definitely play it again. read more

Before coming here, I've heard many stories about how the folks working in the pro shop aren't very welcoming and cold. I can confirm this. I was just here today. Not very welcoming. They told me (twice) that I wasn't supposed to wear a tank top. No problem. I understand everyone has their own policies and such. However, there was an older gentleman (caucasian) who wore the exact same outfit as me and no one in the pro shop told him about the dress policy. I am not Caucasian so you can take what I'm inferring... I really like how this driving range is close to me but alas, dated attitudes do not get my business. read more

Another review about Jason! If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The 5-star review goes to the wonderful cart lady bringing around beverages and snacks, Maria. For one, I understand it's unfair to leave an establishment a no-start review based on one visit, but this is warranted. Mainly because of pro-shop manager, marshal, king of the castle, Jason. It all started on hole #2 where he came to let our group know that a group behind "complained" of our pacing. There wasn't a single group behind us. Jason then proceeds to follow our group, constantly nagging our group to hurry up as we are teeing off, belittling and dehumanizing us as we are waiting for the group in front of us to finish on the green. To keep it short some of the comments were, "weekends are for playing, weekdays are for lessons", "you need lessons", "i don't care if you're trying, hurry up", and "you'll be seeing me again if you don't hurry up". I understand the importance of keeping pace, but when there's no one behind you or the hole before, why can't we take our time and make sure we're playing as best we can. And Jesus Christ, learn to talk to people. You don't talk to your customers that way. And you shouldn't even talk to people like that in GENERAL. A golf course is supposed to encourage members of all levels, from scratch all the way to beginner. Encouraging people to WANT to be a member of your club not just for your amenities, but rather the character and personality of your staff, establishment, and how you treat customers. You're not running a $300/round course... get off your high horse. At the turn, I came into the pro-shop to speak to a manager. "Nope! there's no one here you can talk to." Confronted him about the comments. Flat out denied and said I'm skewing his words as to what he implied. I'm pretty sure what your words implied were that if you're not shooting under 70, hurry up. If you have an issue with talking to people, seek a new place to work because all you're going to be doing is talking to people at a golf course. If you are shooting between 90+, this course will have a marshal breathing down your neck telling you to hurry up and critiquing your shots. Seriously nasty character. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to Jason the Marshall today. We had the second tee time of the day. After a nearly 2 hour frost delay (it was justified) we crawled along on the front 9. Unfortunately the first group was struggling a bit and having trouble as the pacesetter for the course. After stopping in the proshop at turn and giving them the heads up, Jason was able to drive out there and successfully speed them up. It seems like most marshalls out there don't like to do their job and keep everyone on time. Jason was the exception today and it was greatly appreciated. Thanks again!! We will be back! read more

I have been consistently visiting every public Golf Course in the East Bay. Redwood's prices are comparable to courses like Chabot, and Tilden, but the course is much better kept. Fairways are super satisfying to play off of, and the roughs are well kept and fun to play from. Unfortunately when I visited 4 of the holes were turned into par 3's so that the fairways could be maintained properly. This was pretty disappointing as far as play goes, but shows the company cares about the long term quality of their course. Marshals can seem strict at times, but it's all a part of keeping the course in good shape. There's also a Marshal who checks you in at hole #1 which is pretty cool. Only public course that is better in the east bay is Corica, but I don't count that considering how expensive it is and it's basically a PGA quality course..... read more

I haven't been her in over 10 years but was pleasantly surprised how much improved and nice this place became. The only gripe is they have dirt cart paths that get confusing for the first timers playing here. The course was in good condition and the greens were well maintained. I Highly recommend this spot, specially if you're located in Castro Valley. It's conveniently close and the drive there is pretty scenic. I'm here pretty much once or twice a week. Great place to relax and hit some balls after a long work week. I've just started golfing and only used the driving range so far... Call to reserve a spot on the range as they have split the spots for social distancing so only half the spots for the range are available. Other than that it's really easy and convenient to reserve and you do get 75 balls for about $8. I do really like how you hit the balls into the pond as you see exactly where they land! read more

We have not played this course in a few years. Decided to give it a try and sorry to say we will not be back! The pro shop didn't know how to use their new system to check us in? First he said to us "sorry, we don't have a tee time under that name?" Then he finally found it even though we gave him the tee time, first & last name? He seemed like he really needs training on how to use the system. We questioned are you using a new system, and he mumbled something like yes, 4 new systems in the last 3 months? Well, better get some training! He seemed to have doubled charged one of our players, but said basically come back at the end of your golf and deal with it. She's gonna just deal with her bank credit card because when she went back at the end of the game, he still couldn't help! There was a person behind me that was also doubled charged and was told you need to talk to the Manager, which he even at work! The worst part of this golf course, is the filthy, dirty carts. The seats are ripped, the cart was so sticky from spilled drinks or what not... the cart he assigned us had a full plastic sheet that was so dirty you can't see out of the shield even after trying to wipe it down with water and paper towels. Both us riders had to lean out the side of the cart to see where we were going and where our balls were? Don't think this course hoses down their carts at all! The condition of the carts was so disgusting! We had an early tee time and the ladies restroom was out of seat liners, the trash can for the towels was full to the brim, so when was the last time the restroom was cleaned? The cart path is dirt path, full of bumpy muddy pot holes. The scenery at this golf course is nice and peaceful, the price is right for senior rate, but everything else was not worth us giving it another try. This used to known as Willow Park Golf Course but it was take over by new management in the last 2 years and they have made some improvements to the course. The previous operators never did much to maintain or improve the course. Now it is less rustic and a bit nicer all around. The clubhouse has been improved and the restaurant is nice enough to hold banquets and parties in. The basic course remains unchanged in the layout but what has changed is the maintenance. They have cleaned it up, tremendously. They've cut back a lot of the tall weeds, dead foliage, trimmed tons of trees and are now working on improving the drainage. But, it still retains it's natural beauty. But, if you hit it too far to the left, you will lose your ball in the foliage and if you go too far right, you will lose it in the creek that runs the entire length of the course. It's not a difficult course to play but it's not wide in a lot of spots so you can't veer too far off course! Jim read more

Played on Wednesday. Needed coffee after first nine hole. Got the coffee and gave the tip, which was right in front of the cash register. 1:35 pm about. Nice looking lady was serving. !!!!!! The coffee was cold. Went on the 10th fairway and had first sip. It was cold. Can she at least make sure the coffee is hot and warm. Da. Spent $3 for cold coffee. Let the manager know..... read more

Everything you could hate about a golf course I hated about this place. First of all, I would not play this place again for free. I walked off after 10 holes and wish I just canceled, pulled weeds in my yard, and let them keep the green fees. Where to start? Not with a starter - there is none. Nobody from the "pro shop" is announcing groups, pairings, etc. It's Lord of the Flies at the tee. Fine, whatever, we tee off and were on our way. The tees were not set properly after mowing and the blue tees simply were not there for at least 3 holes. We took our best guess based on the scorecard. The tee boxes themselves looked like a curb strip in front of a foreclosed home, minus the dog poop. Footing was always uneven, grass sometimes 3 inches high - a total joke. Once on the fairway it was ratty but I expected that for the the price and the history of this sad course. The greens were more tragedy. Tons of invasive grass, improperly restored previous hole locations left depressions around the green, what looked like fungus was chewing up some parts. Taking care of greens requires, knowledge, care, time, and money, and by the looks of this place they are short on all four. THAT SAID, I would have still enjoyed my day there (it's golf, right?) except that the other 'golfers' there were awful. One hole, we are teeing off and a guy from an adjacent hole (this is a tightly packed course), drives his cart dead center of our fairway about 40 yards in front of the tee box, gets out, and starts rooting around a creek bed looking for his ball. We wait a little but the guy is simply not finding his ball nor moving. Turns out, that was nothing. The group in front of us was drinking, half-way in the bag, LOUD, blasting music, and slow. The "marshal" drove by them a couple of times and paid them no mind. This was also something I could deal with until that group got into a fight - yes, a fight - with another group who was on an adjacent fairway. I don't know what started the fight (the other group was also blasting music), but it ended up in a 49ers vs. Raiders shouting match. This took 10 minutes and just served to jack up the group in front of us - they got louder and slower, their music got louder, and that was it for us - just walked off the course. You won't see these conditions or these people at Las Positas, Wente, Poppy Ridge, Callippe, Monarch Bay, Metro, Corica, Chabot, Tilden, etc. Even the defunct Skywest was infinitely better than "Redwood Canyon". This *could* be a nice course. They should do a 30-year lease of operations to a class outfit who commits to dumping a ton of money into restoration and operation (like Alameda did with Corica Park & Greenway). Course has improved since the rains washed it out. Touchstone has been great with the course. Try not to tell too many people about this place. Also, you don't need to use your driver. Accuracy is important on this course. read more

Redwood Canyon Golf Course should shut down for good. I played there today and can honestly say I thought the construction crews were there for demolition, not fixing anything. There is no grass in the fairways, just dirt and weeds. The greens are a disaster with burned out areas and fairway grass attempting to take over. The tee areas have no grass and are all dirt. The last time I played a course that was in this amount of disrepair, they went out of business. shame on the people who are running this business. Please don't waste your time playing there, because whoever is in charge of running this nightmare doesn't care one bit. read more

I used to come here a lot when I was younger. Stopped going because literally same issue happened 8 years ago yet nothings changed. There is nothing worst than the check in person being so condescending than it lingers in your mind the entire game! Like why are you being so mean for? I went in for a rain check game and made sure they knew I only wanted to play 9 holes when reserving. They never said anything when I received my rain check, when I called to make a reservation for the rain check, and when I was checking in day of rain check until they processed everything which took 5 min itself. I made sure to emphasize that and even made sure to book a 2:00pm tee time to give me just enough time to finish. I show up and they slowly process everything then proceed to tell me they won't allow me to play just 9 holes, but instead do all 18. Why would I pay for 18 holes and set a 2:00pm tee time a week out when it gets dark at 4:30? The manager (which I assume he is bc he's been working here for over 8 years and I'm surprised he's still allowed to work with his attitude) who I spoke over the phone never once said any of this even tho I made sure to ask and was instead extremely condescending towards me. He even mocked me for accidentally giving him an extra letter when he was getting my email. You'll see many reviews specifically towards this older grumpy gentlemen. His attitude and behavior has clearly rubbed off on the younger dudes working there too because they were all trying to start something out of nothing. There was 5 employees being nosey and trying to "help" us. Dude do you guys really have nothing better to do? One man with a laptop asked "so when was this rain check issued?" I don't know why don't you check the receipt you took from us and talk to the two employees that deliberately told us the wrong information. I seriously don't understand how they can all be so clueless. My bf ensured him that they will have other golfers coming in with the same issue (they've promised 9 holes to other customers too) if they don't explain this policy to the customers (bc we give a shit and were trying to be nice) and he had the audacity to say, "well we should refer them to you then!" This is your job, not mine. Even then I'll make sure no paying customer is disrespected. But since you insisted, we made sure everyone on the driving range knew that they're trying to rip us off and they all agreed that the workers are rude for no reason. I do not ever recommend spending a dime or stepping foot into this establishment. As a manager myself, I've had bad days but having a bad attitude like your life depends on it is another thing. It's not even the money it's the principle. You think I'd be so sad that I lost $39? That's nothing compared to other courses fees but rather if you tell me I can come back and just play 9 holes deliberately so you can get more money then jokes on you. Is there commission from ripping off customers? You guys had plenty of chances to clarify my statement if I was wrong. I would have had no issues then but instead I wasted my time, got lectured at, and had to deal with young and old men getting hostile. Oh and they allowed people to gather at their little snack shop after their game where there were over 15 people just standing around drinking beers during covid. Don't state on your website this, this, and this isn't allowed but then go ahead and allow people to drink beer and gather with their friends just because they're giving you money. Such a stingy course, don't go. I recommend Metropolitan, Corica, or Monarch even if it's more expensive because you won't have to worry about the disrespect you'll receive before and after your game. First time playing this course yesterday. Let me make this very clear: I will not be back. 1. Course Management: we were stuck behind a slow group all day. Round clocked it at 5 1/2 hours. Normally this is what you'd have a marshall for. I called the clubhouse in the middle of the round, said they have ZERO marshalls on a busy Saturday. Wonderful. No starter, players had to figure out sequencing on their own. Our group had a 35 MINUTE WAIT on the 10th tee. Clearly whoever is managing this place either doesn't know what they are doing or couldn't care less about the customer. 2. Course shape: The course was in awful shape. Greens were rough. There was a big pile of cut up grass and mud in the middle of the 9th fairway. No signs, no nothing. No yardage markers, at least what I could find. No ball washers. No mix on carts to fill divots. 3. Oh and our cart died in the middle of the 18th fairway. We called the clubhouse to see if someone could drive another one out. No answer. Always nice to unload your cart in the middle of a fairway to finish your round. Oh, and all of this for the bargain price of $50! What a deal. First time here, last time here. read more

The course fairways were in decent conditions, and all else considered I would have given this a 3.5. However, the staff was great. Jacob assisted us with a smile and even advised how the course was playing. Will be back due to the friendly and expert staff. read more

My home course. Nice, small, but very challenging narrow course. Much improved since the past except they chopped down some trees that were really good to make golfers earn their score. Creek in the front that makes it very challenging especially since the front is also the narrowest. Back 9 is wider with a lot of trees to keep everyone honest and can come into play. Greens are always lumpy but not a detractor. If you are long great. If you are not straight, good luck playing here. This course will punish you. Great local course with cool locals. Being food and water sine there is no cart person and definitely set a tee time as it gets crowded, especially on the weekends. Prices are great as I said and the food shack is decent. read more

This is a beautiful, natural track that is the perfect course to walk. The front nine was lush even now at the end of summer. Guess they have a deal with EBMUD. There are some irrigation problems (wet spots) here and there, and the back nine is parched in places. There are one or two greens with issues, but most are in good shape, and new tee boxes and sand traps are going in. And you can't beat the price. Noah does an excellent job in the club house. read more
