With a lot of ancient reviews, I thought I'd stop in R&B, formerly Edgar's, and update you Yelpers. The place looks different since I was here last so I'm assuming that the present decor is about 3 to 4 years old. Nicely done. We sat in the Sun room. Prices are commensurate with the venue. Lori, who has been employed here just 3days, did ok. See pix of what was consumed. Food decent. When the weather is decent during the summer they have bands in the parking lot, that part is cash only. 3stars??? Nothing jumps out, except the decor.

Great spot. Loved the casual vibe & the roof top. It rained so once it dried up a little we went upstairs & enjoyed the DJ and drinks. The bartenders were nice & response! Loved it.

    Fish & Chips - delicious

This place was a cute little sports bar type restaurant in Sea Girt. The staff were friendly, but our server didn't show up much. However, this was some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. I rarely order fish, because I do not like a lot of breading, but this was cooked perfectly and delicious. I would recommend.

    Dead fly in salad

I went for dinner with a group of 6. The service was a bit slow for dinner service. I ordered a salad for my entree and I went to mix in my salad dressing and as I was mixing a saw a dead fly in my salad. I was extremely repulsed by this as it was clearly in the romaine mix to begin with. I informed the waitress and she apologized and gave me a free drink token. She brought me another salad and did my take this off of the bill which I found to be I absurd that I was being charged for a salad that has a dead bug in it to begin with. I was no longer hungry after seeing the dead fly so I did not eat my salad. I will not be eating at Reef & Barrel in the future after this experience.

This is my first time here, and I will say, it has potential. We arrived early and it was a little bit dead. Now, it's closer to 7 o'clock and it's filling up. On Wednesday nights the band is setting up. The burgers were very good the lobster mac & cheese very good. Overall the portion sizes are a little small size but I enjoyed it. Good service, nice friendly waitress- attentive, good advice.

    Burnt cheese.

I am absolutely so sad about this! Been bringing a whole group here every year for cheesy pizza goodness. Like ninja turtle, pull the piece apart and the cheese strings out a mile long, pizza. We were served burnt, crispy pizza this last time around, and we waited forever for it. If we weren't so hungry we would have probably realized we should have sent it back sooner than all of us grabbed slices and started nibbling. You could literally break the pizza in half with a cracking sound while all the pieces of crust crumbled to the tray. The place looks beautiful, but I'm not sure what's going on with the food now that it's not Edgars. I hope this was just a fluke, but it was truly disappointing. I hope to be back to write a better review at some point.

This place is fine and standard. Nothing to really shine or stands out but you'll be happy there. Good place for games easy for lunches too.

We were seated in the covered front deck area which was separated from the interior restaurant. It was an 80-85° day but the temperature in the space was relatively comfortable. We had grabbed a few bottles of white from the conveniently located liquor store across the street. I love me a good BYOB establishment. We started with the tuna pizza, an order of oysters, garlic shrimp, beet salad, and the Bibb salad. (Just a side note, they want you to place your starters and entrees at the same time). Everything came out in a reasonable time and was all very good. The Tuna pizza was not at all what I was envisioning but was a pleasant surprise both presentation and taste wise. The shrimp were interesting because they looked like they would be super flavorful, but just felt kind of flat. Both of the salads were delicious, I really enjoyed the Bibb and would highly recommend it. I had the Bluefin and it was really good, the portion size was fair and the fish was extremely fresh. It was far from the best bluefin I've had, but would recommend it nonetheless. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees as well and overall I would say we had a great time. It was a bit pricey, but it's Spring Lake so that was baked into the cake. Will visit again, and this time I'll remember to order the lobster roll.

We ordered the Lobster Roll - when it came out, my partner and I looked at each other with the same disbelief. It was literally half the size of the Lobster Roll we had before. In addition the lobster wasn't tender - it was chewy. And to 'top it off' it was over seasoned - we ordered the hot, buttered roll. The 'famed' lobster roll was no longer the same epic sandwich. Next, we reordered the Crab Cake. It was an amazing dish when we had it before. Again, it was half the size of the crab cake we had before. While it tasted good, it was a surprise it was much smaller. The saving grace, a Fried Cod sandwich we ordered was very good.

We chose to sit in the enclosed veranda at the front of the restaurant; Amelia's is located on Ocean Ave. and has some beautiful views! We started with a few cocktails - my partner got the Lavender Martini, which she said was very good. I got the Pineapple Margarita, which was excellent! I saw meatballs on the menu - I always order meatballs when having Italian cuisine (Amelia's represents itself as '...a blend of old school Italian and contemporary continental cuisine..'. They were some of the best meatballs I've ever had. Amelia's blends pork, veal and beef for its meatballs - they're tender and seasoned perfectly! The marinara was excellent and there was a dollop of ricotta to stir into the sauce. It was an epic appetizer! For our entrees, I ordered Wild Caught Shrimp Oreganata with mixed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. The shrimp were butterflied and quickly grilled - they had a plump, tender interior with a grilled exterior, in a delicious sauce. The potatoes were very good, and while I'm not a big fan of the mixed vegetables, they were good. My partner ordered one of the specials - the Lobster Capelinni. - 6 oz. of lobster on top of angel hair pasta with a delicious tomato-brandy sauce! We couldn't believe how much lobster was on the pasta - it was tender and very tasty! After 2 excellent entrees, we decided to try the desserts. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. I ordered the Carrot Cake (one of my favorite desserts) and my partner ordered the Chocolate Cake, one of her favorite desserts! My 'carrot cake' wasn't a cake but a conglomeration of icing and thick layers of 'fudge-like' cake. Visions of a fluffy, rich cake with freshly grated carrots and 'warm spices' flew out the window! My partners chocolate cake was dry and not moist at all - I've had Duncan Hines chocolate cakes that tasted better!! While the desserts were a big disappointment, the meal was excellent and we will return to Amelia's on our next visit to Spring Lake.

The atmosphere is romantic, elegant, and just the right amount of sexy~ perfect for a special evening. Our waiter,Akeel, greeted us with a warm smile and was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable throughout the entire meal. Waiting for us at the table was a sweet anniversary card, and every staff member who passed by took a moment to wish us a happy anniversary. Those thoughtful touches made the evening feel so special. The manager even came over to introduce himself and surprised us with a complementary champagne~ a beautiful gesture that set the tone for the night. We started with the chilled shrimp cocktail, which was incredibly fresh, light, and perfectly chilled. My husband enjoyed the 24 ounce prime bone in ribeye with whipped potatoes on the side, cooked to absolute perfection. I chose the spicy rig, and it was every bit as delicious as I'd hoped after reading the menu. One of the highlights of the evening came when I noticed the pastry chef's name on the menu~ McKenzie Kleinkauf. She went to school with my son, so I asked Akeel if she happened to be there. A few moments later, she came out with the biggest smile, it was so wonderful to see her thriving and doing what she loves. It made our celebration even more meaningful. For dessert, we couldn't choose just one, so we shared the churro crullers and the blueberry cheesecake bread pudding. Both were absolutely incredible, and McKenzie added the sweetest, finishing touch by decorating our dessert with two hearts for our anniversary. The entire evening was memorable from beginning to end. Outstanding food, exceptional service, and heartfelt hospitality, made our first visit to Olea one will never forget. The flavorful spaghetti and clam sauce was incredible--with toasted breadcrumbs and packed with flavor in every bite. The pork was incredibly tender--so juicy and succulent. To start the meal they also provided bread sticks with sesame seeds which is a real nice alternative to dinner rolls. With the sticks they also providing a dipping sauce that really tasted great. This the only place I can remember having breadsticks during dinner and loved it. For dinner I had stuffed flounder with rice and vegetables. The fish was prepared real well and came with plenty of crabmeat and stuffing. Inside it was real moist and tasted great. Along with that was rice and mixed vegetables. In the restaraunt the vegetables were a bit harder then I would prefer but when I reheated the meal at home they were perfect. But if you you are an al dente vegetable they would be fine for you. My wife picked something off the specials of the day. Shrimp, Mahi, broccoli, mushrooms, pine nuts all over rice. She felt this was a great meal and would definitely get it again. It was a nice blend of a bunch of tastes and textures, and the pine nuts are always a great addition to a meal.
