I honestly had a great experience at Refined Smiles. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. The team took the time to explain everything clearly, and I never felt rushed. Ever since they took over the old practice, everything has changed for the better. The level of care has noticeably improved, and you can tell they're committed to creating a great experience for their patients. What really stood out to me was the value. The level of service, attention to detail, and genuine care I received far exceeded what I expected. It's not often you leave a dental office feeling like you got exceptional service at a fair price, but that's exactly how I felt. I would not recommend this office!! I had been a patient at this office before it changed ownership in 2026. What was disappointing is that no one informed me that my February appointment would be with an entirely new dental practice. I only found out after I arrived. I went ahead with my cleaning and exam, assuming everything was the same. Then, months later in July 2026, I received a notice saying I owe $208 to this dentist office. I have dental insurance and have never owed on my once a year cleaning and exam so I called and asked about this bill and was told my insurance did not cover my appointment. After speaking with my insurance I find out this office did not update their status as a provider until MAY so they were considered "out of network" at the time of my appt. At no point before or during my visit did anyone tell me they were not in network or verify that my insurance would not be accepted. Had I been informed, I would have simply scheduled my cleaning with an in-network provider. To make matters worse, my insurance processed the claim as out of network and sent me a reimbursement check for $119. Now the office is demanding that I pay them $208 instead of accepting the insurance reimbursement. This entire experience feels like a bait and switch. Patients should be informed when a practice changes ownership and, more importantly, when their insurance is no longer accepted so they can make an informed decision before receiving treatment. I don't think I need to be paying extra because they failed to update their insurance status. Instead of just taking the insurance check this office would rather loose a client and charge me extra. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling misled and frustrated. I hope the practice improves its communication and transparency so other patients don't end up in the same situation. I would not recommend this office on the principle that they can't even take ownership of their own misstep in handling their insurance status with delta dental and made the customer pay the price. Had the Office just accepted the insurance check as full payment I would've never left a review and probably would've continued being a patient there. read more

If I could rate this practice negative stars I would. I was a patient in 2023/4 when it was another name I can't recall. After being shamed by the dentist for not flossing during crippling chronic health issues and severe depression, I emailed the office manager stating I would not be returning and why. Today, TWO YEARS LATER, I received a bill from the newly named practice. I immediately emailed back thinking it was a scam, but no, it was a huge joke. They sent a convoluted bill it's almost impossible to understand and the line item in the exact amount I "owe" was for a missed appointment long after I let the practice know I would not be returning. Thinking the response would be logical, I expected it to end there. I also explained that I had recently filed for bankruptcy, because if you don't know, disability is a FRACTION of your prior income and I lost another large chunk of that fraction, so good luck getting blood from a stone. The reply, from whomever responded, was basically "ok well was this included in your bankruptcy"? Was the $40 from 2 YEARS AGO I had NO CLUE existed included in the filing from THIS YEAR? Apparently logic, kindness, and deductive reasoning aren't required by the dentists who work here. They "kindly" offered me a 15% discount to pay off the balance, and "have no record of my prior negative experience" on their records, despite forwarding the email I sent in 2024 in my response. My parents WERE still going to that practice up until recently. The reason they stopped going? The practice decided to stop taking their insurance while they were patients, didn't notify them and billed them after. Trust me, I understand needing to do what you must to make ends meet, but there's no sane individual who would think scamming people for nickels and dimes would be the way to do it. I have screenshots of this communication, but didn't think anyone would bother reading any of them except for the three squirrels in a lab coat pretending to run this office, and you've already seen them. You can't get blood from a stone, so go bother someone who actually owes you. I've never laughed so hard in my life reading your replies, so at least when your business closes you can moonlight in the dive comedy clubs in the area. read more

I am very upset with this practice. First of all, no notice to customers thst they had changed the practice from AZ Family dental. I found out while confirming the directions one day before my appt. I called to ensure they took my insurance. They assured me they took my government Delta Dental policy. Then I get a bill, only $30, but I don't usually have a payment after a cleaning. They said it was my co-pay, I don't have a co-pay in network. I called my insurance. I have a PP0 policy,the doctor is on the Premier plan. I hsd to pay the difference. They did not check or notify of the difference in plans. I call that shoddy work and a quick way to make money by leaving that out for new patients. Needless to say, I won't be returning and I urge everyone to absolutely make sure you are covered beforehand. read more

Stay far far away from this company, will tell you to come in multiple times a year to get cleanings saying you need them (business scheme to make money which seems like after this taking place) and "schedule" you accordingly saying they'll be covered by insurance if you select this day etc. etc. YET come back 1 year later saying you owe this horrendous amount of money since none of the cleanings were covered yet they said it would be if we waited x amount of days. Spoke with a previous manager told her the issue- supposedly this was all taken care of since never made aware any charges would be incurred - now Manager Loretta called being very rude and inpatient saying this needs to taken care of and there's no notes of any communication. Very unorganized and unprofessional. This has happened to others I have referred here, stay away!!! read more

The culture in this office is the best I have seen - all the staff from front to back are friendly, kind, and thoughtful. It is refreshing to see a dental office that has made a commitment to the highest standard of patient care. Dr Vacanti is an excellent dentist, explains things well, and shows film and CT imaging to help explain a treatment plan. This office is top-notch and really cares about quality dental outcomes. I had damaged a tooth and needed urgent help. I got in quickly, and the office let me know if my Dental plan does not cover the x rays, they will manage the costs. I was given a thorough plan, all information and costs were provided up front and everyone was super friendly. Alexis is amazing in the office. read more

I started with this practice and had a crown performed by Dr Vicante. I was very impressed with his demeanor and knowledge base. The office in general was well organized and very friendly. The crown was created the same day which was amazingly convenient. About 6 months later I scheduled the other side but was informed the dentist had changed but they were very good. The crown performed by Dr Standring failed about 7 months later. During this time I also moved out of state. My new dentist has doubts about the construct of the crown as it relies too heavily on the chemical bond and very little physical construct of the tooth. None of this was mentioned at the time. I hesitate leaving yelp reviews for healthcare but in this case I feel burned because I was very hesitant to not continue with the original dentist I had established rapport and vetted technically. Since then, there is a musical chair of dentists which is not how to build a practice. The office is friendly as I just called to cancel a follow up cleaning that was made months ago prior to my move. That was with yet another dentist reinforcing my point. I don't know if these are locums practitioners or why the challenge with continuity. Ask questions as your commitment to this practice is likely going to be greater than theirs to the patient. read more

My regular dentist is in Colorado, but I had an immediate need for some dental work and my good friend recommended Dr. V. Wow, was she right! Not only was he able to capably and professionally solve my problem, the staff at his office and the entire experience was so much better than any other dentist that I have visited. No one enjoys going to the dentist, but my experience at this office was truly a pleasure. From the ease of making an appointment, to completing my first time paperwork online, and then the friendliness of the staff, I was already impressed. Having had this same procedure done several times with my regular dentist, I was anticipating the usual discomfort, but I have to say, Dr. V was gentle, he explained everything he was going to do, and the end result was so much better than the other times in the past. Dr. Vacanti is talented and personable, as well. After referring my husband, he came home and agreed we finally found our dentist. Everyone at this office is authentically caring. Dr. Vacanti explains procedures, his assistant Diana goes the extra mile to make sure patients are comfortable, and Lyndsay makes sure billing is accurate. This office also has state of the art equipment, same day crowns, and panoramic xrays. Their location in Cave Creek is pretty easy to get to and worth the drive. read more
