This restaurant came highly recommended but honestly I wasn't that impressed. We didn't have a reservation and were told they could seat our party of 5 as long as we were done in 90 minutes which was fine. The server was attentive and easily accessible. A few of us were interested in the chicken sandwich special served Rueben style on Texas toast. I asked if I could order it but put it on a brioche bun instead I was told NO. All of the other sandwiches came on a brioche bun so I figured it wasn't a big deal but I really got a hard NO from the server. Another special was fish tacos. It was disappointing in taste, quality, and presentation. It was flat breaded fish filets on mini tortillas with some iceberg lettuce and a bit of pico. We asked for a sauce or hot sauce and were handed a bottle of of Tabasco. The other fish sandwiches were mediocre and definitely not homemade. Even the fries were frozen and not crispy. We've only been here once but will absolutely be back more regularly! This woman-owned restaurant has delicious food, great drinks, and fun decor inside. They do not have a phone number, but we made a reservation and they ended up reaching out to us following up on our concern about vegetarian options. They are actually quite accommodating, mentioning that several options can be made vegetarian and describing the dishes in further detail. Our server was amazing, very friendly and inquisitive. She mentioned that she's not local, but just comes up time to time because she's close with the owner. When she learned that we were new to the area, she shared a drink with us on the house! The food was surprisingly good! We ordered the broccoli nuggets and they were fantastic, with plenty of chew and a dipping sauce that really balanced everything out. I did not expect to like them as much as I did. Our drinks came out quickly and were very well-balanced. For entrees, I had the meatball sandwich (a special) that was delicious but also lighter than I expected, in a good way. My wife ordered pasta that was bright and fresh. Drinks and food were amazing! The staff and customers were cool. I went after being at a cafe and getting some work done and they had me at happy hour. The waitress I had was cool. I sat inside for my food and then went outside to enjoy a beautiful day and overlook the Hudson River and enjoy a peaceful area and I'm happy I went. The space is bigger than you see off the street. It's definitely worth visiting. It's close to Poughkeepsie metro north station, new apartments below and a short walk to little Italy if you're feeling adventurous. read more

I don't think you can beat how friendly everyone is at Erin's. We have been here two times, and we love the vibe, the people, and (of course) the drinks and food! Before our first visit, we called to make sure there were vegetarian options, and they not only had options, but also sent us the list via text, including the dishes that could be made vegetarian. Such a nice touch. Our first time there, we had broccoli nuggets that were so different and great. I also tried the Walton Street Riggies, which hit the spot perfectly; it was exactly what I wanted that night! The 'Passion Berry' Sangria was the absolute perfect drink for a summer night. On our second visit, we ordered the 'Shrooms Rockefeller, which were incredible. For an entree, I tried Otto's Orange Tofu, which had a strong, sweet, and sour flavor, and I didn't love it as much as I loved the pasta. 1st time here, definitely not the last. It was clean, the staff were wonderful, and the food was OUTSTANDING. They pour a good drink. The smallish bar was enticing - I'd like to go back for a happy hour or something, but we were there for lunch. I had the poutine- it was really unique and tasty with flavors I haven't experienced before. So good! Wifey had athe turkey sandwiche special w/Cole slaw. She said it was delicious and loved the cole slaw extra. The sandwich was HUGE! all in all it was a really great experience and we both can't wait to go back. First visit in and you could tell that Erin O'Neills is a type of place you'll return and they're used to seeing a lot of the same faces. Great atmosphere and service. This pub is tucked away from the main areas of PK, but boy are we glad to have found it. I'm a fan of pub fare, but I know that there is a wide range of quality that can land in front of you at any given place. The menu here had a number of intriguing options that made my stomach growl from the onset. Banger Rolls. Poutine. Wings. Souvlaki Sandwich. Cheesesteak. Some great possibilities. Our table went for the Donegal Fish and Chips, a classic. I opted for the Banging' Mac and Cheese. We couldn't believe the size of the fish on the plate...it was enormous. The Mac was excellent, with some interesting pretzel crumble on top. Really delish. Happy tummies. While we were super happy with our find, our mood couldn't possibly surpass the next door barroom who were loudly enjoying their night out. They sang maybe 5 enthusiastic rounds of Happy Birthday of varying keys (often during the same round), clearly fueled by liquid courage and strangers-turned-friends camaraderie. Our server waxed-poetic about having it with ice cream then later asked if we wanted it ala mode, we said no - but it came with ice cream anyway...and we were charged $4 for it. I have dined at this pub four times now and it has been amazing every time. The location is cozy, the food is great (a step above standard bar food), and the service is Amazing (with a capital A). Food comes quick, staff are polite and friendly, never had a bad dining experience here. My only nitpick issue is the parking situation. It fills up fast and and the condos down the street are reserved parking. There is a nearby lot but it is not clear via signage where that is or that it exists. No clue why this place has so many stars. It's a pub that does not sell burgers or nachos or any real apps. They Mac n cheese was mushy and congealed and tasted awful. The chicken dish looked incredible but it was tasteless and very disappointing. The steak sandwich said it was filet mignon and was a dried out hockey puck sliced with no flavor with disgusting congealed cheese sauce on the smallest bread ever. The fries were mushy. The chicken and pita was not bad but there was no chicken. Smallest portion ever, probably about a 1/4 cup. The pita bread was good. The server was rude and he had zero patience. I always get irritated at people who say how good the food was at a place but take stars away for the service or something else that annoyed them during their visit. However after thinking about it, all of these factors do determine the entire experience. With that being said, I am going to do it myself on this review! I recently visited this restaurant for the first time with my parents when they came back into town for a visit. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated and had a good comfortable feeling to it. It was a quick lunch and they have a cheap "afternoon delights menu", so that is what we ordered from. The food was good, especially the corn&duck wontons! I only have one big complaint (which is a huge pet peeve of mine). The bartender who came to our table to take our order, didn't write down our order. My parents and I have a private joke going with this topic due to the fact that every time we go out to eat and the wait staff doesn't write down our order, something in our (but mostly my) order is either wrong or missing. When the bartender left the table we all looked at each other and I said "he better not screw up the order". sure enough when the food arrived, he forgot one of the two items I ordered! He tried to play it off like he had to go get it in the kitchen, but it was obvious by the time it took to get it that he forgot to put that in the order from the start. I waited tables for years early in my life, and If I can give one bit of advice to servers WRITE DOWN YOUR ORDERS!. I will definitely try this place again. read more
