I feel like I'm consistently paying $15+ for a manicurist to botch up my nails. There's maybe a manicurist or two that does a decent job but it's always hit-or-miss for me - lately more miss than hit. They charge too much to make dumb mistakes (ex. forgetting to cut cuticles until you mention it; forgetting to remove old, clear polish; forgetting to put the top coat on a GEL manicure so they stayed tacky [$$$ well spent...]; having to constantly ask for quik dry drops). They also constantly screw up the shape of my nails. The best part about this salon is Charlie. He gets the extra star in this review. Everyone else sucks. I've tried time and again but now I'm calling it quits. Going to find another salon. Disclaimer: I've never tried their lashes/eyebrow threading/spa treatments. My nails have never looked better!!!!! Walked in here on a Friday night while I was harried and scrambling to get ready for a special event I had the next day. I just happened to be in the neighborhood, and most other nail places were closed, so I took a chance on this place and am glad I did. They were able to take me, and I did not feel rushed at all, and Tina did a very thorough job on my gel manicure, while also being friendly and sweet. Very relaxing. One piece of advice, though, is not to get there too close to closing (9 pm?), as they turned away a walk-in who showed up at 8:40pm for a gel mani. read more

This review is for nails. I went here yesterday for an acrylic fill. I would have given this place 2 stars but the fill cost me $60 including tax and tip.... which is twice as much as the place i go to on 36th street. It's the same cost as getting acrylic at this salon in union square too. I had no choice since I was in a rush and trusted the rating for this place. Not only that but my nails are very underwhelming. The manicurist also rushed so much as opposed to the other salon near where i live. She rushed SO much and dabbed a TON of glue on my nails that it became so thick. The file was making the nail bits fly everywhere and it got all over me and her hair. The fact that she was filing that fast caused my skin to break a lot so when she put alcohol over my nails, it stung so much. I'm very disappointed in my nails... it's the worst acrylic job I've ever had. read more

I stopped by here for a last-minute, emergency gel manicure prior to a big meeting the next day. I had read the good reviews of this place on Google and Yelp, and decided to give it a try. Despite it being late on a Monday night, they welcomed me in and were quick to help me with my manicure. I saw that they also gave chair massages, and asked if I could get one after the manicure. They surprised me by offering to give a chair massages while I got my nails done! The massage was superb; Charlie has great acupressure technique! I was in NYC for business and realized I needed a quick refresh on my pedicure for the shoes I'd be rocking to an event. This was the closest nail shop to my office and able to handle a quick walk-in. They're located on the 2nd floor and have a very clean, bright space. I told the woman I only needed a polish change and picked out my color. They did try to up-sell me by adding a full pedicure service, but I declined. There was an additional cost of $5 for the OPI infinite Shine polish I selected, which is a HUGE rip-off since I only pay $1 for that polish back in Seattle. Still, I needed the polish change and just sucked up having to pay extra. With that said, the location was still convenient, the shop space was really nice, and the service was super quick and friendly. The prices are a bit inflated, but I had a good experience and would feel comfortable referring people and coming back again if I was in the area. read more

I'm still a regular customer there, but today I had a bad experience with a technician. She had no patience when I couldn't understand what she was saying. She was rude about the payment-- I added on a 10 minute massage and she seemed peeved that I did that because I had to pay right there and then. Then she began painting my nails and got to my second hand when I had to stop her because I realized that my old polish was still clearly on in some spots, and I had to ask her to re-do the first hand as well. I really want to like this place bc they are a block from work, very clean and nice but their gel manicures consistently peel before the week is out. I usually never get tips but I am traveling out of the country with two weddings to attend and decided to get tip in hopes of it lasting. $100 later, I walked out with mediocre nails and cuticles that did not get pushed back and cut properly even though I continued to ask and to make matters worse one nail peeled b4 the first wedding and four days into my trip and b4 the second wedding a tip just popped right off.
