We rarely go to the movies anymore because there are so many great films available to stream from home. However, while my brother-in-law was visiting, we decided to take him to see Supergirl at Regal Gateway. It wasn't our first choice, but there weren't many other options playing at the time. To be honest, the movie pleasantly surprised us. It was very well done and went beyond the typical sci-fi storyline. The film explored themes of revenge, friendship, protection, and compassion. One unique aspect was that Supergirl didn't actually put on her iconic costume until the very end of the movie, which was an interesting departure from the usual superhero formula. By the time the credits rolled, our family left the theater happy with the outcome. One thing that really stood out was the ticket-buying experience...it was completely people-free. Instead of purchasing tickets from a cashier, we used kiosks located in the theater lobby. You simply select your movie, pay with a credit card, and receive your ticket. In fact, you can even order concessions through the kiosk. Times are certainly changing! Gone are the days of standing in line at the box office to buy tickets. Today, you can purchase them online or at a kiosk when you arrive. I have to admit, though, that I miss the personal interaction. There's something nice about speaking with a real person and not having to navigate the technology yourself just to buy a movie ticket.

I rarely go to the movies these days because "the way my bank account is set up..." (in my Kevin Hart voice)! So when I got invited to a screening last Tuesday for a movie I'd been wanting to see, I jumped at the chance. I was surprised and genuinely impressed by the recent renovations at Regal Gateway. The new reclining seats are super comfortable and fully recline. Each seat also has a rotating lap table with a cup holder, which made it easy to snack without balancing everything in my lap. I also appreciated being able to get in and out of my seat without shimmying past a fixed table. The updated layout gives every seat a great view of the screen too. If you're a Regal Crown Club member, Tuesdays have additional perks. Members get 50% off popcorn, and yes, I absolutely took advantage of that and grabbed a large popcorn. Don't forget the free refills. The only thing missing for me is clarified butter for the popcorn. That would absolutely elevate the experience. There's plenty of parking, the restrooms were clean, and they have a really good adult beverage selection. The staff has consistently been helpful about sharing specials, discounts, and upgrades I can use with my Regal Crown Club credits. Overall, this was a really enjoyable experience, and I'm looking forward to returning.

The upgrades are nice! Comfortable seats- better than other theaters by far! I also like they have the cooked snacks (e.g. nachos, nuggets, hotdogs) available in grab-n-go so you don't need to wait to eat.

The Regal Gateway is an antiquated movie theater that severely needs a Kris Jenner facelift. The carpet patterns scream the 90s, there's no self-serve butter, the hotdogs weren't ready when we arrived (6:00 PM), and the electronic screens displaying the menus change too quickly. Overall, a hot mess, there's just no pizazz here. I'm not going to even dive into the pricing of concession items, because.. I don't need to state the obvious. I won four tickets to the prescreening of Lilo and Stitch (shoutout to the best CM, Tomas), and the process to check-in was easy. Just as the email from Yelp stated, "your seats are guaranteed for the event until 6:30 PM.. arrivals after 6:30 PM will be directed to the general admission line where seating is available on a first come, first serve basis". Y'all, they were not kidding!! The general admission line was insane! I spoke to one group and they stated they were waiting from 4:30 PM! If you ever get the opportunity for the next movie pre-screen experience, PRO-TIP: Arrive on the dot for those tickets! Though we weren't immediately allowed in once we checked in, we were able to snag the seats we wanted since we were near the top of the line. Note: For those who came late, copped a band, and hopped in the line as we were moving, SHAME ON YOU!!! Unfortunately, seats are not reclining and the space in between rows give a tight squeeze!

Excited to watch an advanced special screening of the newly remade Lilo & Stitch

I used to frequent this theater often years ago until other theaters upgraded their seating to stadium style seating. Sadly, Regal Gateway did not keep up and stayed with the old style of seating. During this visit, their front lobby area had no AC and most of their theaters were cordoned off with caution tape. I can only hope they're upgrading to stadium seats! It felt nice returning after all these years! Fingers crossed for their much needed modernization!

    Woohoo!

Concession lines suck tremendously. I feel like it would take an act of god to get the lines moving. Minimum staff.

What is yalls food options? Do yall have glizzys?

Has this been upgraded to the power reclining seats other theaters have all had the past few years? Would love to come back as it's nice and close but would rather drive for more comfortable seating

They are the old school seats. Not recliners at all. I hear they are upgrading 1 theater to the 4D type. The Regal pass can't be beat. For just under $20.00 a month you can watch any movie any day as many times a day. I've seen 3 movie in one day,…

I'm a big fan of IPIC Theaters, it's a great little theater in The Domain and one I really enjoy…read more It's feels very inclusive to me because of its wheelchair accessibility. It's always clean and the people working there are so nice and it makes a difference in the whole vibe of the place. They have a good drinks menu and food too. The recliners are comfortable, but they do run a little short. My feet hang off the end and I'm only 5'7". Thankfully they offer cozy blankets, which I love and definitely helps. Service is easy and convenient. You can push a button if you need something or just order from your phone without missing anything. The lobby is also a nice place to hang out before or after your movie with a full bar, a pool table, and plenty of family games to play. Prices are pretty comparable to other theaters of the kind, so it doesn't feel like a big splurge. Just a really enjoyable spot for a movie night.

I started going to IPIC in 2011and loved it for so many years... until i went this past Saturday…read more It's become a glorified AMC, but at luxury prices. Two tickets came to $40.92 (including tax and "booking fees"), which isn't much different that the past, but they stopped giving the bags of popcorn and blankets with the "nice seats" at some point. When the server came, they told us there was a problem with their ordering system, so we could order up until 20 minutes into the movie, but anything after that we would have to walk out to the lobby and make an order We orders an iced tea, Diet Coke, order of sliders, and nachos with a "steak" upgrade. When the drinks were brought, we asked for some Splenda for the unsweetened tea, and the runner made a face and simply never returned. The sliders were cold and the nachos were just nasty - more "steak" in a can of Campbell's soup. They also came with tiny amounts of sour cream, pico, guac, and jalapeno, and way too much black bean paste. It was really just a plate of chips with bean paste. The food and drinks came to $75, which included an automatic 18% gratuity for a ridiculous lack of service. In the past, the prices weren't outlandish, since they had a better level of food than Alamo and others. Now, it's just from garbage you'd get at a waterpark. It's a shame that a once elevated experience just sucks now - bad, overpriced food and an understaffed crew. Definitely my last time going out of the way to see a movie at IPIC. What a sad decline.
