Registration Express Group in 1311 Mangrove Ave in Chico CA, contrary to dissatisfied reviews, seemed to bring closure and relief to what I can only imagine would have been a nightmarish situation had I been forced to deal directly with the DMV. Sam, who to this day I think highly of, said and did what he promised. That to me made my being there in his capable hands well worthy. I had previously renewed a vehicle registration, paid with Apple Pay if not mistaken, and received my tags and registration on the spot. Back then a very nice lady handled my business. Yes, back then and even now, I tried to justify not going to the DMV, and both times I felt that for the money I got a good result. Specially this last visit, Sam operated and his demeanor raised the bar where good service is concerned. Also something I've never experienced to this date happened: I received a call by Sam saying I needed to bring the original certificate as the DMV would not take a copy. Near closing time I rushed and handed the original certificate as required. This whole process had me stressed out and this new development did not appease matters with the famous line: what could possibly go wrong? Here goes the kicker! I returned home ready to wait when, lo and behold!, the darn Title was in my mailbox less than half a day later! No baloney, document was there in record time. Now how in the heck that happened, as most are familiar the DMV is not necessarily fast, I simply can't figure it out. Needless to say I praised the Lord but also the way the story ended. Seriously, 12 hours later? Almost Harry Potter like, so do forgive me if I give Registration Express Group and Sam, it's able operator, a much deserved and impressive delivery of a critical document from the DMV. The fees are ridiculous. I went it to register boat/trailer and had so many additional charges such as a boating book that I didn't request or need for 12 bucks. If there was a way to show all additional charges I would post a copy of my receipt. For what I paid I could have joined AAA for a 2 years where I could registered them for free read more

The purpose of this business is to remove traditionally inept Ca. Dept. of Motor Vehicles from your need. They advertise swift and efficient service at a reasonable price. Neither of those ads are true and have proven to be grossly false. I spent a total of 3 hours in their Chico office for 2 transactions for a boat and a truck. Both registered currently. The truck was an exempt pale from California and also current. I was charged $1080.00 not including tax to transfer both vehicles including the permanent boat trailer. DMV cost would have been $474.00 and even on the worst of days would not have taken 3 hours. When asked about the pricing, I was told it is "all over the place, I wouldn't understand it, even the invoices are coded" which is true, the invoices are coded to the point that it is virtually impossible to determine what you are expected to pay. I would highly recommend you stick with DMV as these enterprising people are going to steal from you. Even when they acknowledge the many discrepancies and over charges, they refuse to refund you. The purpose of this place is basically a middleman so you don't have to deal with dmv. They boast about no lines but the three times I've gone there I've waited between 30 to 45 minutes and they don't seem to allow appointments so unless you have at least an hour to spare and sometimes too depending on how complicated your situation is after you've already waited 30 to 45 minutes, you basically need to carve out potentially 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours of your day. Really no different than DMV. It's kind of a thrown together place with randomly placed desks and shelving and dogs whimpering and barking from a back is really really strange! Love dogs, but it's really unprofessional. Two of the three times I've been there, they don't even acknowledge you at all. You just have to hope they see you and call you next even though there's no Rhyme or Reason to everyone sitting there so you don't know what place you are in line or if they're going to take some matters over others in any particular order. They don't even speak to you or look at you until they're basically telling you it's your turn, which is really really strange!
