Everyone at the y table loved it except me really enjoyed it. I like my squid a little less squishy... the sauce was nice, though. My entree, the crusted trout was simply magnificent. It was cooked perfectly! The crispness of the coating was just right as was the texture of the fish. The mushroom and dried red pepper yum y topping the fish was oh, so good! I could have used a little more of that. I wish that the fish had cone with a vegetable side. It came with rice (which had some very hard nots in it) , but nothing green. In order to get a vegetable, you have to order a side for two. They also don't let you substitute the side that comes with your dish for another. Ultimately, I went without. We had margarita, 5 o'clock somewhere, and a flight of mimosas. They were all quite good. We finished the meal with the carrot cake and fried apple pies. The apple pies are reminiscent of old school McDonald's fried pies. But the star of the show was the carrot cake. If you don't get this...I feel sorry for you. It is truly the best I EVER had. Moist, flavorful, fluffy cream cheese icing. It was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have done a great job and are determined to please you. First, I will say that I love the renovations and new decor. Reminds you of a lush 5-star steakhouse. Servers are still friendly and attentive. But the quality of the food served now is hit or miss. We started with the crab cake appetizer and it was delicious. We were a little disappointed that they were out of the kids' chicken tenders but they accommodated us by providing grilled chicken breast instead. We ordered the lobster ravioli and grilled halibut entrees. The lobster ravioli was pretty good. But after a few bites of the halibut filet.. I saw that it was undercooked! I mean almost raw in the center!! I was so disappointed! The dish tasted okay yet nothing to rave about. For a high-end restaurant this is unacceptable. When the server asked if I wanted a to-go box for my meal since everyone else had finished theirs, I showed him the raw fish and he apologized and said he was going to show it to the chef and took my plate away. A manager never came to our table to apologize, but we heard someone from the kitchen say to our waiter 'offer them a free dessert!' They did comp my entree without us asking for it and gave us free dessert. But after not being able to finish my meal and feeling sick that I had potentially eaten raw fish, I was done. Our waiter was very gracious about it and the other wait staff have been so nice to us over the years. It's just sad to see this place go down.

I usually skip toppings like that because I feel like they can hide the quality of the meat. I even asked if it needed it, and she said no, so I went without. I wanted to taste the steak on its own, and I think it would've been really good if it had been cooked the way I wanted. I saw a patron using a hand fan while we ate. - Since there was no air conditioning running, all the steam from the dishwashing and cooking in the kitchen came out to the dining area and lingered in the air the entire time we ate. We thought it was smoke at first but it didn't have a smell, when we walked out to leave I felt the steam leaving the kitchen area - Unbearably loud. I'm not sure why the acoustics are so bad but there is just nothing absorbing any noise. All the ruckus just echoes. She was very courteous and was working hard. They seemed to not have enough staff on hand. - The napkins shed everywhere? When I opened my napkin a cloud of lint came up from it. It was all over my black shorts when we left. - Ends of the tables were all scratched up. - Decor is a bit of a hodgepodge. Having fake candles at each table for a place that gives southern farmhouse is an interesting choice. - The pimento cheese plate came with only 5 mini pieces of toast. We had to ask for more which was an upcharge. There's no way all the pimento cheese could be eaten on 5 pieces. Their home runs: - The food was amazing. I really liked the steak frites. I ordered the steak medium. It was nice and tender. The fries were seasoned and crispy. The chimichurri sauce was great. My friend and I both liked the pimento cheese and the bread that it came with. We weren't crazy about the house pickles. My friend loved her caesar salad. - The prices are great.
