OMG ... do you need to define incredible!? How about awesome? Or, customer-focused? Well all three describe Reimer!! Came home on Sunday after Thanksgiving to a house with inside temperatures of 40 degrees and did not know who to call. One neighbor suggested Company X and I left a voicemail saying we had no heat ... they still have not called back. Went to Lowe's for a space heater. A guy named Tom was there pushing Reimer and since we had not heard back from the X company I told him the problem. He said to expect a call in a couple of hours or first thing Monday. 30 minutes later my phone rang ... I said I would wait until Monday for service... the tech came identified the apparent problem and he was awesome. Overnight we realized there was a hidden issue so started texting and calling the Monday tech. He was great on the phone and made sure the Tuesday tech got here pronto. Tuesday's tech was just as awesome and solved the problem. When it rains it pours ... in addition to the furnace issue we came home to a plumbing problem but Tuesday tech said "no problem" and tomorrow a Reimer plumbing guy is coming. Reimer came to do a yearly maintenance on our air and furnace. By the time he left he said we need a new coil for the air abd a new inducer draft motor. Cost would be anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 dollars depending what we wanted to do. Air is only 7 yrs old, furnace is 11. Called another heating and cooling company. Nothing wrong with either. Okay so they do good work period. They are a company so they are doing everything by the books and up to code. However they are very very expensive they have to be to afford to attract plumbers instead of having them work for themselves . Plus to keep all the scheduling stuff and have the owner make a profit for it all. Now on to service. They will do a good job and they will come out fairly quick for emergency services. I'd recommend using a standard plumber for anything simple or trying it yourself. Otherwise use them for the major major stuff. So you have a warrantee. read more

My husband called the emergency number due to the fact, that our heat wasn't kicking on, but the fan kept blowing. It got down to 65 in here, before my husband finally called the number around 8 pm. We finally got a call back from Adam. Meanwhile while we waited for a call to let us know when he was going to be coming out, we tried trouble-shooting to see what was going on. We had the thermostat numbers reset, we checked the filter though we knew we had just replaced it last week with a brand new one, and last we turned the braker off that went to the furnance. At this time, Adam had called back, and didn't want to come out as it was getting close to 11. My husband told him, we have children, and we really need to see what's going on. So, he said he was going to make some calls. I continued to read up on the hvac system to see what could be going on. I even read reviews about the thermostat to see if something else was going on, like batteries or was it frozen, was it the igniter, etc. Tracy called my husband and said he'd gotten a call from Adam. My husband explained the situation. Tracy explained, that typically after 11 they don't generally take more repairs. My husband explained about our kids and how it happened last weekend too. That we had someone set up to come out, but we cancelled because we finally got it heating, and thought they wouldn't be able to replicate the problem. Tracy listened and then said he'd see what he could do. After a little bit, my husband and I turned the braker back on. It took a bit for the thermostat to reset and come back online. Once it did, it was blowing cold air for a little bit, then we turned the thermostat way up to 75. It blew cold air for about 10 minutes, then the heat finally kicked on. About 15 minutes after that, Adam called and said he was on his way. We were concerned that they wouldn't be able to replicate the problem. My husband turned the heat back off to see if it would duplicate the problem. Adam was mad when he came into our house, took the door off, and called my husband a lying sack of ****. He accused my husband of lying about the furnance, and inspite of my husband trying to explain what kept happening, he raised his voice at my husband and said that he had real customers with no heat, that he wasn't going to charge us, and that was when I came into the conversation. I told Adam, not to ever talk to my husband like that again. He said well if it warrants it... and kept going on about real customers. That's when I got very upset, as we had just spent over 13k for a brand new ac unit from this company. Now keep in mind, this company, knows my husband and I are veterans. We got a veteran discount, and him calling my husband a liar and his integrity into play was uncalled for. I finally told the tech (Adam) to get out of the house now. He argued with me and I pointed right at the door and repeated for him to leave my house now. He finally headed for the door and then stopped at it, when I told him, never to set foot in this house again, and that I would be calling the office and speaking with his boss. He started insinuating my husband was a liar again and refusing to leave the house. When I told him to go, he said no and refused. That was when I had to have my husband get my phone. I told the tech if he didn't get out, I was calling the cops to have him removed. When he still stood there, my husband finally handed me my phone and I started to dial. That's when he finally ran out of the house, got in his vehicle, and left. I called the number and requested to speak to a supervisor. I was told we would get a call back at 7 am. replaced all electrical outlets. Final price, at about $90 per outlet, was way beyond the estimate. Doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to chg an outlet. They missed 3 and 1 of the 2 technicians showed little respect for my property and left most outlets unplugged even outside with cord lying on ground and it was raining. He did not clean up or move furniture respectfully. Also gave me an estimate for other potential work and i saw what would have been the final cost. Once again they hide their pricing because this was double. Another: Example they charge for part only GFI with bubble cover $436. Home depot cost $20 - $25. Seriously, i have more to this story but to sum up I was taken for a ride. $5000.00 to change outlets in a small ranch and the work itself as questionable. My experience with the Buffalo, NY location is the worse unfortunately. I tried to work with them TWICE. The first time was a nightmare ; it took more than a month for the technician to come back to finish the work and I don't know how many phone calls to finally get there. The manager apologized that is why I tried again. But this second time around is just too much. The receptionists/customer service make it very very difficult to work with and to make an appointment. They waste a lot of your time by poor communication skills: they fail to understand the client needs, they fail to coordinate correctly the appointment with the plumber and on the top of it, they are ignorant of the services that their own company offers. I tried to confirm an appointment that my tenant made. My tenant had already given the receptionist all the info needed to do the repair: changing a broken dryer pipe. The first receptionist really angered me: she had an attitude, seemed to work against me and refused to confirm the appointment because I the landlord ,could not provide enough details The second receptionist assessed that Reimer does not do Vent dryer work and canceled the appointment. The following morning, I get a text : Apologies, we DO repair dryer vents! We have you on the schedule for Friday. Thank you! Seriously, Wow! I have never seen such unprofessional people. My appointment is confirmed but at this point I will declined and work with someone else. Short Version: My husband reached out to Reimer to install 5 (already purchased) small semi flush fixtures in our 650 sq foot upstairs. IF we had proceeded with this service they charge $300 PER fixture totaling this service to $1500 plus the service fees. As if that is not bad enough.... This small service call turned into the SALES PUSHER (I refuse to call him a trusted master electrician, I'll refer to him as TD) stating our home has a MAJOR electrical issue with water throughout our electrical box and stated we needed to put a deposit down ASAP to fix this issue that will cost $12,000. Thankfully, we saw through the emotional manipulation we were presented with. I'll skip over the sob story where they showed up 3 hours past their window without any communication. LONG VERSION: It all started with a simple flicker of a light and a rush to the basement to take apart the panel(installed in 1999 and fully serviced in 2021). I'll leave the interaction & dramatics at this point up to my husbands review and jump in to where my husband and TD came to tell me that our home has a major electrical issue, MAJOR water damage to the panel and it is threatening the safety of us and our 1 year old son leading to a home fire down the road. TD took it as far to say that staying in our home until the system is replaced was questionable, he said "if you were my brother I would be replacing this system today and ask you to leave your home." SOLD, of course the safety of our young family is our number one priority, you're the "professional" and know best. OK, lets talk money. It will be $12,000.00 but the good thing is this includes giving us 50%(!!!!!!) off each light fixture installation, bringing it down to only $150 PER LIGHT. From here comes the push to run our credit, "its only 3 points" was probably repeated 5 times. Wanting a $500 deposit and that if we did not schedule this service before he left for this Saturday then we won't be able to get it done for 3 weeks and our safety was in danger. I'll also skip over the sob story of TD also being disappointed that I mentioned paying cash and saying we would need proof of funds. "it's no interest!!" "it's as small as a car payment" (not sure which year he's living in that a car payment is $200/month) I mentioned to TD that we just moved in in February and we had a pre home inspection and this was not a concern. He fumbled over his words stating the person was probably not even an electrician and they don't know what they're looking at. Something felt off, in my gut I knew this wasn't right . We just bought this home 5 months ago and had a preinspection. We told the sales pusher that we needed to discuss with my dad and we would get back to them. Ok well, you should at least do the $500 deposit, run your credit and schedule the appointment for Saturday JUST in case. Safe to say my gut was right. 3 other professional electricians looked at our panel, "this looks great" "you have another 20 years" "there is nothing wrong" "you're only using 10%" I'm disgusted that this company is out here using emotional manipulation and scaring folks into thinking they need to spend this amount of money because their families safety depends on it. We woke up yesterday morning to a cooler than normal house. The furnace boiler was running but the house wasn't warming. We immediately called Reimer. After explaining the problem we were told they would call us back in a few minutes to let us know when someone could get here. A couple minutes later they called back and said someone would be here in about an hour. Less than a hour later , Lou the service tech arrived. After running some tests on the pumps and electrical system, he diagnosed that the problem was with the relays that turned on and off the pumps and furnace burner. That is why we like Reimer. Although he said we should consider upgrading our really old heating system, he tried to repair the problem. After doing a good cleaning of the contacts, everything began working just fine. He did no high pressure selling to convince us to buy new relays at $385 each (x2). Instead we were charged less than $100 for the service call and repair. He resolved the issue of our furnace being dead as a door nail . The solution was simple as scratching the contacts where the batteries go for the thermostat. He still checked the furnace for proper contacts with the wiring. Eddie's troubleshooting led him back upstairs. Once the thermostat was up and running, the furnace clicked on instantaneously. Eddie represents Reimer in a very positive way by being genuine and truly listening to my concerns and inquiries. They told me that it would be 6500 and I had to remove the toilet and vanity myself. Had to replace a Honeywell Pro thermostat. Rep arrived at 3:35pm and was done at 4:17pm. Cost was $350, plus tax ~$375 total after a $100 discount.. Had to pay a $99 Advance Diagnostic fee that was included in total even though I knew and described exactly what was needed. Rep was unable to provide me with a receipt, but one was emailed to me within a few hours of job being completed. While I believe the price was ridiculously high, the rep did a good job and answered my questions fully about the job and how to operate the new thermostat. read more

We had Reimer in on 12/26/24 because our 30+ years old boiler seemed to be leaking (it was still heating the house just fine - the pressure relief valve was working overtime for some reason.). The positives were the person who took the call and the how quickly an appointment was available. The actual call was not good. First, Scott Skora had not read the ticket so he had the wrong reason for being there. Then, he proceeded to try to sell us on the need to replace the boiler. Luckily we had been warned that Reimer had tried to scam a friend so we were ready to question any recommendations that cost$ 3 years ago we had Reimer in to consult on the need for a new boiler and that technician (not Scott) was clear that there was no need. Scott, on hearing that, did not believe us even when I said the receptionist who took the call was able to look it up and confirmed it. More than once Scott seemed to imply that it didn't happen. (so basically calling me a liar) The reasons he gave for needing a new boiler were: CO2 emissions, deterioration of components as evidenced by the debris, and the improvement in efficiency with related cost savings. First, CO2 - he never told us what the reading was so no way to tell if it was dangerous. Second - that debris has probably been building up for decades and did not seem to effect the moving parts, I mean I don't open up the case and clean in there. It's probably just 30 yrs of dust and dirt. Scott provided no specifics and which part(s) or mechanics could be causing it, if any, and which might be negatively impacted. Third, efficiency - Scott said we we would be the losers if we didn't replace it because we could improve efficiency by 20-25%. When I pushed back that it wasn't much savings compared to the $15k replacement cost he upped it to 30%. Generously, if I save $600 a year it would take 20 years for break even? I'll probably be dead by then. He kept trying to convince me that we needed the replacement. He wasn't very professional about it. Insisted he knew best because of all his experience. Yet he never made a believable case. We did have him empty the expansion tank which seems to have solved the problem for now as there has been no more leakage. I read online that he probably should have also replaced the pressure relief valve as once it is engaged like ours was it may not work well. He never mentioned it. We won't be calling Reimer again. Too bad they are either incompetent or mercenary now because the technician from 3 years ago was great. read more

I called Reimer at 1:08pm for a central air tune up earlier this afternoon. They have an $89 tune up special currently running. By 4:15pm the service is complete, and I had a optional $30 part replaced for a total with tax, of $131.72. The service is quick, efficient, the technician, Kevin, was friendly, very knowledgeable, and willingly explained and answered all questions. I contacted Reimer Home Services on 4/30/2024 to service my furnace which was from 2011. The technician told me that I would need a new mother board and other items which he said would run me over $3000. He told me my exhaust and intake pipes were too close together and had created rust in the heat exchanger. He said those pipes would have to be moved apart. He charged me $80 for the service fee and then I received an email offering me financing. The manage Joe sent me a few texts to try and set up a meeting. I told him I was going to get other opinions. I had another HVAC specialist come out to look at my furnace who told me it was in good working condition and that the information that Reimer gave me was not true. He showed me exactly why. He looked at my thermostat and told me one of the wires was loose and he fixed it. He did not charge me a penny and told me that my furnace should last me 20 years. Reimer is know for trying to get people to purchase things they don't need. I believe their technicians receive high commissions for their sales. Beware of Reimer Home Services. Recently got a AC part fixed by Reimer. Everyone I dealt with in company was extremely professional from the office workers to the repairmen. I have three dogs that are friendly (but a handful) which the workers were very nice to. Prices were straightforward and the work was completed on time.
