I went this past Sunday with a friend of mine for a day away. We both drove about an hour to get there & definitely will drive an hour again to visit. The spa itself was very clean, well decorated, warm and welcoming. I enjoyed the relaxation room (the attendant was very sweet), the eucalyptus steam room (though I could only tolerate it for a short time) and the hot tub. I will say the area surrounding the hot tub could be spruced up a bit (plants, flowers, water feature). It was a bit too industrial. I didn't care for the salt room. The grinder was loud which isn't too relaxing. I had a 30 minute massage and 30 minute facial. The massage was absolutely wonderful! One of the best I've ever had and I really wished I had booked an hour. Wayne is fantastic! He is kind, respectful and professional. My facial was very good. I was nice and relaxed & my skin felt great after. Overall I had a great experience and look forward to returning. read more

The Release Well-Being Center is not top quality. The new building and company is just 1 year or so old and it seems it hasn't been touched since opening in January- lacking personal touches such as plantings, flowers, decor that you may expect. The outside hot tub looks out to a DPW? Facility? making it feel like a bad public pool area- they could have planted a bush or two or three for that matter and made that outside area more private and pleasant. The shower pressure is VERY low so getting shampoo out of my hair was a challenge. They have just a few showers it was awkward after what appeared to be a gym class ending and many people coming into the locker room to shower. The amenities such as hair spray and elastics etc....well many public bathrooms I've been to have nicer. Don't forget your lotion because they don't have lotions after you wash your hands with Unlabeled soap that drys your skin out! The Release Wellness Center is at best a Gym/ trying to be Wellness Center. Aside from the lack of all that, the spa staff appears to be inexperienced in their fields- And the front desk Full of attitude. I had a terrible experience from start to finish. Go to your local massage therapist/ esthetician and then to your favorite tea shop home to your own nice shower (the salt room isn't a real salt room it's a fair copy of what a salt room actually is- you're not missing anything!) you'll save yourself from the attitude the front desk and condescending owner and You'll Have a Better Time! read more

Wow ok, so I don't typically write reviews but I just had the absolute BEST prenatal massage of my life. I had never been to Release and wasn't expecting much from a local day spa but Christine BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER. I am on my third pregnancy and frequent prenatal massages. Usually the massage therapist is too nervous to release any toxin that would go into the baby so they are extremely gentle but just being touched is nice enough. Christina, however, was different and WAY more effective. While she still didn't dig "deep" to release toxins, she moved and pulled all my limbs to release tension and pressure in my joints and problem areas. I have never experienced a massage like that. It was hugely helpful to also learn she is a doula so she is very experienced and knowledgable when it comes to relieving tension areas during pregnancy. I have 8 weeks left before giving birth but I hope to get back and see Christina every two weeks until then! I would have given 4 stars because the spa itself isn't the absolute nicest place I have been to but Christinas massage made it worth 5 stars to me. read more

No welcome, no inquiry as to what I was looking for, no offer for a tour, no brochure - just told that everything is online! Release is a wonderful place to exercise and relax. Everything is provided in a beautiful setting so all you have to do is show up. Teachers are well-trained and personally supportive. Loved the mineral baths after a weight training circuit and yoga class. The Nourish Cafe offers good and healthy foods. It is a place you can easily turn into a personal retreat for a morning or afternoon. Highly recommend the Release experience. read more

Release is such a hidden gem! I was introduced to release about a month ago. I came in for a "Day of Bliss" and enjoyed an amazing lunch and smoothie at Nourish Cafe followed by a perfect spa day. The Himalayan salt room was my personal favorite, also make sure you try the mineral spa, eucalyptus steam room, and Sun Sauna. If you need rest, relaxation, and just to "get away" without actually going away- visit Release! read more

Very disappointed in this place. On my last few visits I have not had the best experience. On my last visit to the Bliss area I booked a private hot sauna. At my slotted time I found it occupied. Hoping the person would be out soon I used the other amenities. I was surprised at this visit that they only give you one towel and they are not pleased if you ask for additional. Anyway much after my scheduled sauna time a person emerges and it is an off duty staff who has taken no regard for using my scheduled time. She is dripping wet in perspiration. No one cleans the sauna after her use and I certainly do not want to go in now to sit in her body sweat! The facility is starting to show wear and tear. The outdoor hot tub had debris floating in it so that was not very appealing. The place is generally crowded and not very easy to find serenity with route 9 traffic noise quite prevalent. The bolsters in the yoga area are beginning to bear sweat stains and the blankets have a peculiar odor. Also be advised if you purchase a 10 pack of visits they have an expiration date that you WON'T find anywhere on the website. Only thing I have to say positive is Sharan is an awesome yoga instructor. I will miss her as I will not be returning! read more

I have been coming here since it opened and every detail is perfect! The instructors are professional, empowering, fun, and deeply committed to providing the best experience for all members. Special shout out to Christi and Jenny for spin classes and to Caitlin and Barbara for Barre. The spa services are therapeutic and deeply relaxing, as well as the indulgent offerings in Bliss...the Himalayan salt room, Eucalyptus sauna, and the outdoor hot tub. The organic café offers the most amazing avocado toast (as well as many other healthy offerings) and delicious smoothies. I can't say enough about this place! I did a signature massage and bliss package. First off the food at Nourish was amazing! I enjoyed a nice foot soak before my massage with a nice heated neck pillow and flavored water. The massage room was nice and relaxing Melanie was great I told her about some specific issues and she worked on them. Her energy and calmness are amazing. I am somewhat in tuned with my body and she gave me a lot of insight on why I have the issues she was working on, she also gave me some at home tips. After that I enjoyed the salt room where I could instantly feel myself breathing better! I took a dip in the hot tub to keep all my muscles loose after my great message and then I ended with a relaxing light therapy shower. Also, they have EVERYTHING you would need for showering and getting ready! Sorry long post but if you are looking for a great massage and great experience look no further!!! read more

Purchased a couples Duo massage for a Christmas gift was given gift cards to cover and menu of services at time of purchase. When we arrived we were given a tour of what our spa day included. Three days later we were charged an extra $40 for services we had paid for already. Should have been a simple fix or credit. Will not visit again read more

My mom, sister, two sisters-in-laws and I all spent the morning at Release getting facials and massages and relaxing in the lounge. everything was amazing. They did a great job staggering the appointments so we were never rushed and we were all able to take advantage of the lounge area and salt room. We had lunch in the cafe and it was also great. Just had a fantastic experience! I was a little early to my appointment and was offered a complimentary foot soak, and was always being checked on by the staff. I had an appointment for a facial with Jacquie. I am in the beauty industry so I have had a LOT of facials. This was the best facial I have EVER had. Not only was I extremely relaxed ( I don't relax easy ) she was extremely knowledgeable about the products and educated me without pushing me out the door with tons of products I don't need. I don't ever take the time to really review places, but Jacquie definitely deserves a 5 star review! read more

So, the treatments were a surprise by DH and I had wanted a facial for Christmas. I have really sensitive skin and mentioned to the aesthetician when we started. I got a mild chemical peel that burned my face! So, they rescheduled a complimentary facial. Again I mentioned I have really sensitive skin and would like extractions as I broke out really badly last period. She took out TWO! Not going back there for sure. read more

Nice staff, beautiful buildings. Going from one building to another in the cold, wearing a bathroom is an awful thing to ask clients to do this time of year. I would not book a message or facial based that this. There was no caffeine free coffee available which I would think a spa should offer along with the wonderful herbal teas available. The tea cups in the waiting room NEED TO BE BLEACHED on the inside of the cups. Not appetizing at all, wouldn't take a cup of tea. The small hanging light fixtures in the waiting area have a ton of dust (salt or other) and should be shined every day. There was dust in the sun room on the wooden racks against the wall, again, salt or something else should be cleaned daily. Some of the staff were in the women's locker room talking about how green the outside jacuzzi was, well that was a turn-off. This is not good business for clients to hear. I then hesitated to go in. My niece loved it but she had nothing to compare it too. I would not return based on the above. One more think.... the "gentle" yoga class was far too advanced for semi-beginners. Salutations to the Sun in a gentle yoga class was unheard of.... I have been to many gentle yoga. The instructor was lovely but should tone it down. One more thing: I was just reading other reviews and noticed that the owner only replies to positive feedback---5 star. There was one in 2018 that talked about how loud the other clients were and there was no response and nothing has been done to correct this. ALso, the staff talk loud and some have "clickety clack" shoes on and walk fast. read more

This place is listed as $$$$ but it's really actually only $$$ at most. It's very decently priced for all that you get. My husband and I did the duo spa package which gave us access to a couples massage, steam room, sauna, hot tub, relaxation room, himalayan salt room, and lunch all for $280 ($140 per person). It was worth the price. You get access to the spa all day, too. The massage was out of this world. We had Christine and Sam and they were incredible. Checking in was stressful. Very unorganized and two people were trying to help us at the same time but they weren't communicating with each other so it was awkward. Our one critique is that the general relaxation room was SO noisy; actually most of the place was noisy. When we were shown the place, we were asked to keep talking to a minimum which made sense and then when other guests arrived, it was conversation central. Not relaxing at all. Staff was also loud in the hallways and it echoed into some of the rooms. They also had maintenance crews coming in and out, tracking dirt and water in on their shoes so the floors were dirty and it really threw off the vibe because they were noisy, too. Otherwise, the rest of the place was nice. I would say its a 3 star place working towards a 4 star rating which is impressive for MA. Compared to other spas I've been to, I can't say I left entirely relaxed but perhaps I got what I paid for. read more

Yes. Robin literally gave me one of the most amazing and therapeutic massages I have ever had. I have 3 small children and often neglect my own self-care. I spent the most amazing day having a massage, the Himalayan salt room, a foot soak, time in the hot tub and catching up with my good friend over a delicious lunch at the cafe. I have been a member at Release for many months. Release is definitely not a traditional wellness, yoga, spa, or fitness center. Part of this is because it is all of the above (and a café/restaurant). Another reason is because the experience is easily a higher level. I started taking yoga/fitness classes here purely because of the central location when I am on the road, the on-site shower and in-house towels (so I could leave and go to meetings depending on my day), and the facility's cleanliness. At Release, you can do yoga or fitness classes in facilities that are top notch. The yoga sanctuary is easily the best space for yoga in the area. You can also relax in the Bliss area, which includes a salt room, a Eucalyptus spa, a sun spa, a solo sun spa (for privacy), a whirlpool, and a general relaxation space. Of course, you can get massage or other spa treatments as well as food at the café. I personally am most impressed with Linda, the owner, and the staff. When I have made suggestions, Linda runs to implement them. Like, that minute. It is clear she has invested a lot financially and personally to make Release successful. It is hard to include everything about Release here, but I do think that if you are interested in a higher level of yoga or to pamper yourself, Release is for you.
